I have both the Opendots and Openfit (1 not 2), and I like the sound signature of the Opendots a little better, although I think Openfit is a slight bit more full. Since I dont have the Openfit2, I cant say for sure, but I would guess it sounds pretty darn close to the Opendots. In my opinion, the choice between those two doesnt come down to sound quality (theyre both great), but rather fit and style. Opendots dont interfere with my glasses at all, so that gives them an edge. Ive found the Opendots easier to wear for longer periods of time. Either way, you win!

Its about the same thickness, but considerably smaller, maybe a bit more than half the size of the OpenFit case. Its also much more rounded, so it fits in a pocket much easier.

I couldn't find that many opinions online so I thought I'd throw in my two cents. A bit of background, I'm a bit of a headphone enthusiast but nothing crazy - my main headphones are the the HD650, HD620s, and previously the AKG K701. I use the Etymotic er3xr on the go in addition to some random wireless Sony bluetooth earbuds. I also have the Bose QC45. I bought the OpenFit 2+ as an upgrade over the OpenFit Air which I currently own as a pair of cheap(ish) open headphones for situations where I'd like to hear the environment outside. To be honest the old OpenFit Air are kinda bad but they are cheap and are tolerable for some background music. The OpenFit 2+ are a substantial improvement and actually provide decent sound quality. Overall I'd describe the sound signature as being overall pretty well balanced and slightly V shaped with plenty of treble sparkle. The treble resolution isn't amazing but it's hard to fault given the category doesn't have that many contenders. The sub-bass rolls off a little as well which is expected for this form factor, but bass extension is surprisingly good. Soundstage is good, reasonably wide, which is not exactly surprising given V shaped sound signatures does tend to assist to that effect. Compared to my er3xr, the Shokz has a laid back midrange with a hotter treble and is of course less detailed across the board. It's brighter than the HD650's with a rougher less refined sound. I bought them for $339.00 AUD, I'd highly recommend them for anyone who is after some open sporty headphones and is willing to pay for good sound quality.

Yeah the 2 is a significant step up. I don't know how they compare with the Ultra Open.

The original OpenFit? They're essentially the same as the OpenFit Air in terms of sound quality i.e. kind of bad and honestly not very tolerable to listen to, I mainly use them to listen to podcasts or videos where sound quality doesn't matter very much. I haven't tried the Bose Ultra Open but the form factor is quite different.

I have the Shocks with the band and AirPods Pro. I use both. I prefer the AirPods with noise cancellation if Im running at the gym, and I use the shockz for outdoor runs for safety. I personally dont notice the band on them at all when Im running.

I've had three pairs of the Openrun minis over the last ten years and used them mainly for running and cycling. I just switched to the Openfits which are over the ear earbuds so they don't have the band in the back. They are so comfortable I can have them in for hours and don't feel them at all.

I have the original OpenFit and wear them with sunglasses any time I run outside. Never had any problems with it. Wouldn't wear them in the gym tho, I've got noise cancelling earbuds for that.

Yeah, I have the open run bone induction headphones. I love them. But sometimes I want a bandless option and I hate in-ear earbuds. I'm thinking hard on pulling the trigger for the new shokz openfit 2. They supposedly improved a lot over the first edition. Thank you for your reply!

Shokz OpenFit 2 would be my recommendation. They dont fit in the ear but sit on the ear. Get pretty loud and very secure when running. They are very comfortable and even no issues laying on them. I would also say look into the opendots but they will be above your $200 after tax, but go for $199 If you have a Best Buy near you, they should have them on display to try as they dont go in your ear.

I am very happy with my Shokz Openfit 2+. Its a normal speaker but it's on the outside of your ear. And quality on calls are really good.

Bose Ultra Open are great for minimal footprint. Sound is pretty alright. Abysmal call quality. They do pinch after a while but it doesnt hurt that much. Im sure with time theyll be less noticeable. Shokz open fit 2 are a little more intrusive since theyre over ear hooks instead of clips, but the sound is MILES better. Great sound for open buds, great battery, great call quality. Very comfy. I regularly forget theyre on. My Shokz are my work buds, playing music, taking calls. The Bose stay at home for watching shows and doing class work/exercising.

I tried them on sale for $129 USD a couple weeks ago and I thought they were OK, but the slightest ambient noise completely masks lower frequencies even with bass boost enabled. Not really the products fault per se, but the design just doesnt work for exercise in urban environments. Also the soft rubbery part contains BPAs which is really bad, especially given the friction & moisture that theyll be subjected to.

i have switched to open air ear buds like aerofit pro and shokz open fit. You lose noise canceling but gain all day comfort for listening to music. My ears don't get sore like with in ear silicone buds If i need noise canceling i just use my headphones

I recommend looking into Shokz OpenFit 2. They are on ear earbuds. The hook will keep them secure and they are very light. Due to the on ear style they barely give any ear fatigue.

Man I have been through so many of them, and maybe it's just that my ear is odd but I've been frustrated with how they either fall out or bother me after 30 minutes or so.... until I found one built very differently. At last, I'm happy with the Shokz Openfit, because they wrap around the back of the ear rather than trying to be seated in your ear canal. So maybe give it a try if you like.

I got the open fit. I chose based on reviews on YouTube. Music is loud enough on my runs. I wore them for a half marathon and they stayed on fine and I don't feel them at all. The battery lasted through the whole half and had plenty of battery to spare. I can still wear a hat. When I am running outside I can hear when someone is approaching or if a vehicle is near. I love them and think they are stylish and cute. I got the pink ones and they match my ear skin tone. Downside: it's not as immersive as an experience as in bud ear phones. If I go at a busy time at the gym I can barely hear my music over the machines making the treadmill even harder.

I like the feel of my Bose Open over the Shokz OpenDots. But for the few bucks less, they compare just fine. I do find myself using my Openfit 2s the most. Just easier to put on and not in the way as others.

My ear shape sounds similar to yours. I first tried the soundcore aeroclip and also the huawei freeclip, but clip-style designs always feel a bit uncomfortable after long use. I recently switched to the shokz openfit 2+, and I found the earhook design fits my ears better and stays very stable. You could try it too if youre interested, it might open up a whole new world haha.

So freaking true! I've returned my Shokz Open Air's 4 times. Open Run 1 time. It's so frustrating. I'm thinking about the Open Air 2s. I really like how the neutral colors blends and the ability to really hear ambient noise.

Big difference. Open run is bone conducting n open fit 2 is over the ear. The mic on the open fit for me is much much better with noise cancelling. Both dont go in your ears so plus for 8hr work day n the open fit 2 lasts almost all day talking n listening to music etc. open for 2 are much better for phone use imho. I have both n some soundcore models as well. Ive tried many many different brands

Also keep in mind because it doesn't create a seal, the bass would be severely lacking compared to ones with silicon tips. Did you try previously changing the tips to different sizes?

I use the Shokz Open Fit, the ones that are separate open ear buds, the sound is much better than the open run models that are bone conduction. They still wont be as good of sound quality or as loud as in ear earbuds they arent terrible either.

I love my shokz and bought them for similar safety reasons. I bought the most basic/cheapest ones and I cant see why Id need an upgrade (unless Im missing something?) Im surprised at how good the sound quality is. I cant deal with wearing them in the winter, though, because I get headaches if my ears arent covered. So I have some Bluetooth earmuffs for winter which are also not terribly noise-cancelling.

Shokz OpenFit. Because they're actually little speakers, so they sound good, they aren't just trying to vibrate your skull. You still get all the frequencies. Very comfortable since they don't wedge in your ear canal, they sit a little bit in front. And they're a good balance between being able to hear my music and being able to hear around me.

I just recently upgraded to the Shockz Openfit 2 and I am so impressed! As someone who usually prefers good sound quality in headphones, these have both the incredible Shockz comfort and fit, the sound quality was really solid as well. I tried the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones recently, and the Openfit 2 were significantly better in my opinion.
