I have the same problem, I’ve found that the AirPods with the rubber tips help a lot with grip - the normal AirPods fall right out of my ears lol. I usually use my big Bose headphones but if I need small earbuds, AirPods for sure

AirPods Pro for the seamless integration and handoff between other Apple devices. Could go from iPhone to iPad to Apple Watch to my Mac without a problem. The audio is good as well, if this is just for everyday use.

I swear by Beats Pro with the little wing tip. I’ve got two PRs of AirPods Pro and they just don’t have enough NC and they eventually fall out. But the wing tip on the beats holds them without jamming them in my ears to hold them. But yes. They need to be sealed to have effective NC. I also have Bose QC ultra cans which are really light on your head. And AirPod Max which are really awesome but heavy so I just use them at home because they connect so easily to Apple devices if I move around.

I really hope they improve the ambient mode, I want to be able to safely bike while wearing my AirPods. beyond that I really hope they make the case with replaceable battery. right now these are disposable and only last around 2-3 years for me.

The pros with the varia radar + camera are pretty solid though. Varia makes up for the loss in sound awareness.

I wanted to dislike them cause they’re so generic and corporate and whatever else, but when I lost my first pair (which i loved) and tried two other wireless buds (which i did not love half as much) and went back to Airpods pros, I decided it was time to admit they are JUST very good. I don’t think anything beats them right now that I’m aware of. The battery life is great, they connect to an iPhone or Mac seamlessly, every part of it recharges fast, case beeps on Find My if you need to, noise cancelling is quite good (heavily relied on for planes and trains). Small and comfortable enough that I’ve fallen asleep with them in as a side sleeper. It still feels so lame shilling for a major company’s product this hard cause they don’t need the marketing help at all. But they just are the gold standard right now.

I think it is worth just getting the pros. They will last longer and will be worth it more than others. The ease of use can’t be beat.

They’re excellent! Much better than the AirPods 3 and the ANC is way better than I had expected. Of course the Pro’s can do ANC way better, but they are doing a good job. Plus less stressful for some ears.

so since i get wet earwax should i go with the 4 instead of the pros? i had the pros before and yes it would slip right out of my ear and it would feel wet afterwards. i have never used the airpods 4 before. i do have a pair of beats solo buds and its literally so perfect! which airpods would be most similar to the beats solo buds in shape and size?

AirPods Pro 1 and 2 were incredible but they simply fell out of my ears. I liked the Comply tips but they fell apart so quickly and in any wet weather they were ruined. So these are a day one buy for me.

Air pods pros are your choice if you want a Bluetooth, with a good use for everything, if it's within your price range. Although I hate apple I must admit this.

I have buds 2 pro, airpod pro, and bose quiet comfort buds. Galaxy buds are good, not great. Anc is acceptable, transparency is a little tinny/echoey. My biggest complaint is that you can't use transparency with only one buds in which is my most common use since I wear them at work. Air pod pros were great. I used to have an iPhone so that's why I automatically went with them a couple years ago. Anc is great, transparency is very clear and can be used with just one bud. My complaint here was that they just didn't play well with my flip 6. I had weird times where the volume would spike or drop and I could never remember the stem controls for changing the modes. Bose quiet comfort buds (not the ultras) are my winner. No stem, though they do stick out a bit from the ear. Excellent anc and transparency that work with just one bud in. They stay in my ears better and have a really good app. The bass is just incredible compared to the others. It really blew me away at first. I also can't remember the last time I charged them. For them all being about the same price I'd go Bose 100%

The AirPod Max is amazing on an airplane. It’s like all the noise just turns off. I also like them in the office when I need to block out the outside. The AirPod or AirPod pro are more convenient when you aren’t sitting around. I find the Max to be too much when I’m out and about, but never feel that way with the other.

I've recently been using the Airpod Pros as my go-to walking around earbuds. The sound is great and the noise cancelling is also phenomenal, but I've been recently getting distracted with them. I struggle with streaks of dissociation, and even in the "Transparent" modes I get too lost with music playing. I'm not sure if it's the way that they plug my ears or whatnot, but I used to rock the WF-1000XM3s and I always felt present (even with noise canceling). Am I bugging or is this a real phenomenon? Are there other earbuds (or maybe super portable headphones) that would make me feel a little more present?

If you are on an Apple phone, give AirPod pros a try. First, and most importantly for you, nobody is mentioning AppleCare. $15 a year and they will replace them every time they fail, or even if you lose one. Even in your hard use case. If you are not on an Apple phone, you may still want to give them a try just because of the AppleCare. I don’t know, but I hear they’re kind of a pain in the ass in other ecosystems. The rest of my thoughts. They are my favorite pair of earbuds, because of features they offer that make them a GREAT complete package. For instance, automatically pausing playback when I take them out of my ear. The spatial audio is decent, and the volume adjustment for noise is very very good, I never even notice it happening. I like that I can nod my head to answer a call, it’s useful. Things like that make them all around winners for me. I know some of these things are available on other earbuds, but they just work better on the apples. The noise canceling is much better than anything else I’ve tried, although I hear that Sony is better. And it is supposed to be even better on the 3s, but I haven’t tried those. I have had a couple of pairs of ear pods that have significantly better sound, and I have had lots and lots that have significantly worse sound. In that aspect, they are an B plus.

I don't necessarily think that they do overcharge. AirPods are excellent. I've had a pair of AirPods Pro for six years, and AirPods Pro 2 for three. I also had Sony WF-1000XM4s and XM5s, which have better noise cancellation than those, but are significantly more expensive. Apparently the AirPods Pro 3 have even better noise cancellation than the Sonys. If you're someone with an iPhone, MacBook or iPad, the AirPods are even better. If you don't use any Apple products, I wouldn't even consider them.

Shockz Open Run Pro 2 for running. If mine died tomorrow I’d immediately buy another pair. I also own AirPods Pro but would never use them to run in! I use them exclusively for the sound quality and noise reduction. I don’t need or want those features when I run. I need to be able to hear traffic. Sure the AirPods Pro have a feature where you can hear your surroundings but it’s not same compared to not having anything in your ear. Plus they have the possibility of falling out.

saw this kinda question a lot and honestly most people end up happy with either Soundcore Liberty 4s or the Pixel Buds A if they want something cheaper. the Liberty 4s are kinda the do everything well option as in comfy, great battery, solid anc and the sound is way better than the price suggests. they’re the ones i reach for when i’m not trying to think too hard lol. if you want something lighter/cheaper, Pixel Buds A are stupid comfortable and sound clean, just no real noise canceling. airpods pro are also great but only if you’re in the apple ecosystem, but you’re basically paying extra for the convenience. I would suggest checking sites like reddit vetted which basically summarize reddit reviews for you-i did that and ended up with soundcore after checking the good reviews

Have had both, and pro 1’s. Pro 2’s will always be legends for sound. Took 2 weeks and a lot of messing around with tips but i finally can say i enjoy the 3’s more. Disliked the sound at first but have to figure out the perfect tip size or it wont sound right. Also tips seem to break in over a day or 2 so can take time to figure out. Now 3 sound is very enjoyable - just as much as the 2. Fit better And i dont have to mess with the fit at all unlike the 2’s where i was frequently pushing them back in my ear. Anc like 20% better on the 3’s - but only with the right tip size to you ear. Also i lift/run almost everyday - dont worry about sweat theyll be fine. Ive drenched both 2 and 3 and theyre built to handle it

The AirPods Pro are fantastic earphones and i love mine. The consensus on the Max’s (over ear) is they do not have as good noise cancellation, and have no water resistance whatsoever (including even moisture in the air) and the mesh at the too will (when not if) sagg over time. The charging “bra” is not a hit with many user either! They are very comfortable though!

Have you tried different ear tips to find something more comfortable? A lot of folks prefer the memory foam tips you can get vs silicone as they can be more comfortable/less irritating/stay in your ears better. I can’t justify the size over ears take up in my bag now that anc has gotten as good as it is on earbuds. AirPod pros are the only ones I’ll bring now on a flight. I used to bring Sony xm3 overears. The xm3/4 fold up pretty well and I don’t see anything else taking up much less space (I believe the xm5 went backwards in design from a foldability/compactness standpoint, but the latest xm6 remedied that). I don’t think the xm6 price is justifiable over the 4s for instance as these are still just consumer grade/mediocre sounding headphones (just like all Bluetooth stuff for the most part outside of a few like the Focal Bathys). My go to these days from a cost vs sound quality perspective is a pair of refurb sennheiser momentum 4, but the anc isn’t nearly on par with Sony/bose/Apple stuff, and they aren’t the most compact

Because no one else has mentioned it yet, speed and trip length is probably the number 1 deciding factor here. Sub 30mph drives around the city, airpods are fine, but they don't fit so well in my experience while wearing a helmet, and they can get uncomfortable after about 20 min. Their value definitely falls off hard once you hit a threshold where they just can't block sound like actual earplugs, but if your under that 90 percent of the time then its probably fine
