I use the Logitech Brio because xQc uses it. I've never had a problem with it.

I use an Anker Powerconf C200, it works great in low light and does 1080p/60. I only use some LED lights at around 40% brightness with mood lighting and my monitor brightness is set pretty low and my camera quality is great. I have a Logitech Litra Glow key light as well, but I rarely ever use it unless I'm really trying to light something up. Some of the Logitech cameras work fairly well in lower light too, like the C920, C720, and anything in the Brio line.

IMHO, no, there isn't. I have had multiple Logitech Brio and various other cameras and used them with Windows Hello and I always find that they take way too long time to actually respond and sign you in. Apple's camera is instantly -- doesn't even take half a second on newer phones. Windows' takes like 2~3 seconds at times just to engage the damn camera. I constantly fall back to using a basic PIN code to unlock my Windows devices as a result as that's by far the quickest unlock method I've found.

I have the Logitec Brio and it's an awesome webcam. If you have a newer phone from the last 3 years or so, you can connect it to your computer through an app like Camo and the picture is excellent!

I was a Senior Enterprise AE SasS and always used a pro camera. I had a Logitech Brio 4k, and now have a Logitech MX Brio Ultra HD 4K , and OBSBOT Tiny 2 Webcam 4K. Laptop cameras are generally poor quality. I also use an external microphone HyperX Quarcast 2.

> will be streaming in 4K What, like to YouTube? Because you *absolutely* aren't going to be doing that on Twitch any time soon. They don't even allow enough bitrate for a proper 1080p60 stream, much less one with four times as many pixels per second. Yeah, not going to get even 4K30 for under $150 or so. Heck, you aren't even really going to get 1080p60 for that. There's the Logitech BRIO, but they're horrible basket-case shitgoblins; I have two on the shelf that I'll occasionally grab one and update its firmware and software just to see if they managed to fix it yet. So far no dice. $70 range you're looking at the gold-standard starter webcam, the Logitech c920/c922, if you can find one on sale. 1080p30 with decent image quality if your lighting setup is at least OK. *Do not* skimp on the lighting.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give an update on this. Allegedly we purchased a Lenovo webcam that was Windows Hello Certified but wasn't (Classic Lenovo, I've had extremely bad luck with them) I ended up getting a BRIO Ultra HD Webcam and that works like a charm.

I have several on primary, secondary and office workstations. The two cameras I really enjoy are the Logitech Brio and the Elgato FaceCam Pro. The Brio has served me well since the pandemic lockdown, every day for at least two hours a day in Teams meetings. The FaceCam Pro is a quit recent purchase, I replaced a clunky setup with a Sony mirrorless with it. It has great quality and a nice bokeh for a webcam, and together with a key- or ring-light it makes for good recordings, not just meetings. I find this is a tremendous upgrade from just joining from my mac or surface laptop. I pair with a good microphone, and I almost have a studio with just three usb-c connections (mic, cam, neo keylight). Just haven't figured out how to handle my clicky-click mechanic keyboards when I do demo video recordings...

I don't use Reddit much, but just saw this. I bagged a Brio 4K for £56. I'm yet to set it up, but thanks for letting me know about the Hello Windows thing. I've seen the HW thing a few times here and there, but I don't really know anything about it. I'm sure I'll figure it out!

Do NOT get the Brio. It's laggy as soon as you take off auto exposure. Multiple people in my group of friend streamers have said this and I have too. Definitely would recommend the OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite best bang for your buck and it's a sort of PTZ with Ai tracking. It's been an absolute dream while pairing it with Nvidia broadcast's no background tool

I have a Logitech Brio 4k and Logitech Litra. I tried the Logitech beam but doesn’t work with my set up well. I’m NOT a potato cam on camera person so if I camera is on, it’s worth it. So yes the Logitech equipment is mine and I don’t use what my company sent me but I also don’t use the monitors they sent and instead use my 38” ultra wide LG.

Brand names like the c920 are known performers. They have people who have actually used them, and deliver a known result point. The other three you have listed are no-names. The sensors may be crap; even if they technically output 1080p60, they may look like absolute hot garbage. The whitesheet spec is not the full story. What kind of optics do they use? What kind of dynamic range does the sensor provide? Is the gain amp clean, or cheap noisy trash? What kind of reliability and reproducibility do they bring to the table? Do they have a decent autofocus? How big is the actual sensor they use? --- I got fooled by the white-sheet on the Logitech Brio. Looks *amazing* on paper, the perfect camera that I'd always been hoping someone would make. I bought two, sight-unseen, when they first came out. They were (and still are) horrible basket-case shitgoblins. Sitting on my shelf, back in their boxes. Overheating, crashing, disconnecting, image corruption, and sometimes not even being recognized at all. And when they *did* work... the image quality was somehow *worse* that the c920 I'd bought them to replace. Looked like absolute fried ass. So yeah. Sometimes it's because something is known to work (reasonably well), and not just an optimized text string meant to lure people in.

I got the Logitech Brio and maybe there's some settings I don't know how to adjust, but I can't stand the way the colors show up. When I open up the camera settings for adjustment, there's nothing really to do for the coloration.. Just to turn HD on/off, adjust brightness. When I looked it up, people were recommending a streaming service OBS to get the most out of it, and that's just not a path I'm willing to go down. Does anyone have a recommendation for a webcam that is more straightforward, and still brings a great visual? I'm doing meetings all day, so it's just to capture that.

Thanks. I do get that, but again, I would rather get a camera. Like, idk how much I'll go into it, so I don't wanna drop a bomb on an iPhone to not just not use it much. Was wondering what an ideal webcam is that works well, too. Apparently the Brio 4K is good? I was aware more than IR made iPhones good for tracking, but also aware IR is a big factor, so wondered about IR webcams.

I have the Brio, I wouldn't recommend it over a budget cam for 80 or so. Unless you are planning to do high deff titty streams, the extra detail is lost when you shrink the webcam window

I have two Logitech BRIOs sitting on the shelf, because they're useless basket-case shitgoblins. They error out, overheat, glitch, disconnect, and generally are just trash. I bought two because the whitesheet made them look like the perfect webcam. They are not. They look WORSE than a c920 even in perfect lighting somehow. I'll regularly take one off the shelf and update the software and firmware to see if it's fixed yet. Still no, so far. I'd recommend one of the Elgato Facecams if you're going with a webcam. The Mk2 or Pro both are at the upper end of what a webcam is going to be capable of, and punch almost on-par with a starter grade DSLR/mirrorless.

Thanks man and tbf, I've seen the Brio 4K for good prices on eBay. I could grab one for £50-£60. Not too bothered if it's second hand because a camera either works or doesn't lol....I don't need it new. Hmm, okay, fair enough for the light, I may have to do the same. I do have a lamp, but it's way too bright. Need something else. Also, didn't know it had IR, thanks.

Elgato c920 is the gold-standard starter cam. You can find them on-sale for around $50 usually. Of those three, I'd go with the Elgato. Avoid the BRIO like the basket-case shitgoblin it is (I have two sitting on the shelf, they're worthless little turdbuckets that constantly error and look like absolute crap, even compared to a c920; I bought them when they first came out as their whitesheet makes them look like the perfect cam, but THEY ARE NOT). > Btw, I do stream at 4k60 You must be streaming to YouTube, then? Because Twitch's max bitrate would make any 4K60 stream look like hot fried poop. Absolutely unwatchable. Doubling down on the Facecam Mk2 (or bump up to the Pro), it's going to give the best quality out of the three.

A few months back I upgraded from my Logitech BRIO to a Sony ZV-E10 and the difference in quality is HUGE. I am very pleased with my experience. I use this camera for streaming only, not YouTube, so I can't comment on that. But my stream looks so crisp now as the camera does a great job handling low lit backgrounds with minimal grain. I believe the ZV-E10 was around $800? And included the cam itself and also an adjustable lense.

The c920 is just a classic standard all around fine webcam. But it is getting a bit old now and was release date back in 2012... Logitech have the c922 that can do 60fps in 1080p tho. Logitech Brio is a better webcam overall and can do 4k. Insta360 Link 2 is also there but is in a completely different price range.

(Edit to put this at top - I wouldn't recommend a Brio 100 (101?) because it is fixed-focus). I've had a Logitech C920 (lowest price looks to be around $60) for several years and it's never given trouble. Also a Logitech Brio 4k ($130). I've also tried no-name webcams and ended up with something that randomly disappears in the middle of meetings (this wasn't Fedora-specific). If it was me, I would go $10 over budget and get a C920 (the diffs between C920/C920e/C920X are minor and mostly what software is bundled with it, so inconsequential). Definitely *don't* get a Brio 101 or 301, or a C270 - they are within your budget, but all three are fixed-focus. (Brio 4k is autofocus like the C920, but double the price, because of the hugher resolution) (I got my first Logitech product back in 1985 (C7 mouse) and have never had a quality problem with any of their products.)
