Dyson - V8 Series

Same - Though Reddit seems to hate them. We got a Shark as a gift, lasted 1 year. They replaced it for free. Lasted about 2 years. We�ve had the same Dyson stick over 10 years with no issues. A charge doesn�t last long as long as it used to, but suction is still excellent. I can save you the trouble, Reddit will recommend you buy a $1300 corded Miele/Sebu. If God forbid you must have a cordless, $1000 Miele or $200 shark. I just don�t think it�s worth it for something where the bar is �does it get my floors clean?�. It reminds of certain hobbies like Mountain Biking where anything other than enthusiast-level ($$$$) is �junk�. Okay but I had fun riding my �junk� the last decade while saving 8K. PC gaming, too - nobody has enjoyed a game with 12GB of VRAM, apparently.

Avoid the V15 - repeated power/motor issues. From what I can tell, only the V8 is still recommended here.

The Dyson stick one for animals. I think I have the V8 animal. I honestly hate it for almost everything else because it has such a little suction area, but it was the best vacuum ever when my girl was around and shedding 24/7 365. The robot picks up the rest of the stuff between using the Dyson.

With the dyson stick cordless, the battery can be replaced. We did so on ours after 8ish years and it is like new.

When our battery started to go I had no idea it could be replaced. Needless to say I was very excited, lol

My husband ordered and exchanged it. I dont recall it being a pain in the ass. There seems to be 2 screws.

This subreddit had me all scared about buying a Dyson Animal vacuum. It�s fine, guys. It�s a perfectly good vacuum. I also have a stick, wanted more power, and guess what? It�s fine!

I used to work at a local vac shop in Ottawa Ontario. We used to get a lot of refurbished V6s, V7s and V8s, mind you this was like 8 years ago. I got myself a V6 for upstairs ( It was like $180) and a V8 for the living room and that was about $230. i dont even know if Dyson still does the Refurbs, they still come with a one year warranty if i remember. After the one year warranty is up i would use the 3rd party batteries for the Dysons. Its cheaper and you can get 2 some times. I also got a refub Miele cannister and my wife can tell quickly if i vaccumed with the Miele instead of the Dysons. You need to have the power on high for the Dysons to suck as good as the canisters, but it kills the battery stupid quick.

We replaced our shark after 18 months as it was forever getting clogged with pet hair and the batteries drained dead quickly, despite being a pet hair model. Went to a Dyson v8 and had zero issues since - doesn�t clog up and the battery lasts ages per charge.

I bought 3 of the cheap stick vacs off of Amazon for 80-120 each before finally breaking down and paying 270ish I think for a Dyson v8. I absolutely love it and think it was worth it. But the battery is complete garbage and lasts like 15 minutes. The second day I had it I bought an adapter so that I could use my husband�s Milwaukee batteries and omg!!! I have to change the battery every 2-3 days and I use it everywhere everyday. I love it. The adapter is like 30 and you can get them from any brand power tool battery I believe. I think it�s worth it personally but I�ve never had an expensive vacuum so there are probably much better options.

Miele are great pieces of kit all round. The Karcher WD2 is an inexpensive vacuum that does a great job without trying to be clever. We also have a Lidl wet and dry for 40 euro for back up. Cordless, a good Dyson model with pet hair attachment. Just handy to have around for quick jobs. But even with the few quick jobs it needs regular filter cleaning and are quite expensive as a 'quick job' handy tool.

I have one of the cordless animal dysons� it fills up insanely fast and I have to empty countless times when I vacuum, but I keep up with cleaning all parts and pieces and haven�t had any issues!

I bought Dyson v8 for ~330 euro 3 years ago, never had any issue and battery is still in good condition.

Reiterating what some have said�Dyson. Our house is full of hair with three large dogs including a St. Bernard�wish I had gotten it sooner. We bought ours on eBay as certified refurbished and it came with an Allstate warranty that we have used and was pretty simply. I believe we bought it close to Black Friday a few years back so I�d start looking.�

I love my cordless Dyson cyclonic. I bought it from Dyson directly, refurbished for about $250 with taxes. It works better than the brand new one of the same model my mom bought from Costco for double the price. It works as a handheld and a full vacuum. The suction is incredible. Minimal parts to clean and the parts you do need to clean only require water and a toothbrush for a few hard to reach areas. I can remove all of my dog�s hair from the couch within seconds. I would absolutely buy it again.

Dyson stick vacuums are definitely powerful enough. Bagless and lightweight, too. Though you would need multiple batteries. A backpack vacuum would make you look like a Ghostbuster. That would be priceless.

Habe auch vor kurzem einen gebrauchten Dyson V8 mit fast allen Aufs�tzen f�r 100� gebraucht bekommen und mir einen Bosch 18V Akku Adapter f�r 23� gekauft. Mit den Bosch Pro Core 5Ah kann man dann ewig saugen und schnell wechseln. Einer immer in der Ladung f�r endlos Akku. Hat sich bei mir nat�rlich nur gelohnt weil ich die Akkus schon hatte. Adapter gibts aber auch f�r Makita und andere Akkusysteme. Einzig nervige ist dass er nicht mehr in die Wandhalterung passt.

Yep. I hated my cordless Dyson. I couldn�t even get through the living room because I have cats and used the deep clean setting and went slow to get all the hair. It would die after 15 minutes. I bought a corded Shark Rocket and love it as much as one can love a vacuum. The cord is super long so it�s not an unplug/plug situation.

Dyson pet version. Wasn�t cheap but good quality and does great easy to clean.

We had a V15 that we had to replace twice due to power failures. Apparently a lot of the new versions have a board with capacitor issues that cause it to overload and fail after regular use. We just went to a V8 because of having to replace multiple machines because of this. The V8 uses an older board and so I am hoping it doesn�t have this issue

O have a George that does wet and dry clean. But it�s so heavy and wired that it�s a real chore to use it. So I also have a Dyson that�s cordless so that if I want to do the vacuuming in the kitchen quickly after a meal it only take 5 minutes and no setup.

Have an older upright Dyson bag less vacuum, over 15 years old and it�s good. Bought a stick vacuum a couple of years ago for quick cleaning like after kids have demolished snacks, for the car etc and it�s been awful. Barely has any power compared to the proper vacuum, charge doesn�t last long, battery died last year and I had to go in to a store to get it replaced (at charge) then got home and after one use it stopped again. Turns out it was the power adapter/cord that was stuffed, and the back and forth to get them to just post me a new cord was stupid.

Dyson!! It sucks, which is a good thing for a vacuum.

The Dyson cleans the entire home just fine, i've never had an issue with it, and my partner is a OCD level clean freak (yes, this is just anecdotal I know). With that being said, my house is mostly wood floor, with rugs in the obvious places. If you live in a fully carpeted house...sure I would see your point a bit more. But The idea that the suction of a stick isn't sufficient for all but the dirtiest of situations is equally false in the opposite direction of Dyson marketing.

We purchased a �renewed� Dyson Animal vacuum. It�s very powerful and works amazing on our hardwood, rugs, and carpet. It has a narrower brush area so suction is increased. When vacuuming our area rugs on the lowest brush setting, the suction makes it hard to move the vacuum, it�s that strong. It�s probably the best vacuum I�ve ever used.

Second vote for Shark. I had the very first Dyson, and later a Dyson Animal. I�ve since had a Shark Navigator Lift Away, and another Shark, whose model name I can�t remember. Give me some grace, I�m old! Both Sharks were FAR superior to either Dyson, and FAR cheaper! They picked up EVERYTHING, including tons of dog hair, the brush rolls rarely tangled, and when they did, they were easy to clean. A bonus on the Lift Away is that it comes apart so that you can use the top part as a (comparatively) lightweight canister vac, which is great for stairs, overhead cleaning, etc. I�ll never buy another Dyson. If you tried to give me one, I�d ask if I could have another Shark instead.

I�ve had two. The Dyson v8 absolute. And the 10. Both are spectacular batteries have never had an issue. Have dogs and 4 girls. If you take care of them they take care of you. Clean them out once or twice a year. Sorry to hear about everyone�s bad luck. Maybe I got two well made ones not sure. But we used both daily and never had a single issue. Going on 8 yrs and they both still run great. Still same factory batteries. Old one went up to our camp when we bought the new one. Used the one at camp 3 weeks ago not a single issue. Sorry you all hate Dyson so bad but I�m on the other side on this one

I also hate my Dyson animal. Like you said, it stinks like dog no matter how much you clean and replace the filter and is so hard to maneuver. I also feel like the suction isn�t that strong. I definitely plan on getting something else soon!!

I used a dyson handheld converted to run on Ryobi batteries ????

Lots of people will shit on Dyson but honestly their stick vacs are great, relatively durable, very convenient and with easily replaceable parts. Very few vacuum cleaners are genuinely BIFL. Avoid Miele like the plague.

Til � suge opp st�v fra sprekker i m�bler, stoff (tepper eller filten i f.eks bil), s� er den ikke i n�rheten av f.eks sentralst�vsugeren p� 2500W. Dysonen er vel p� noen hundre W.

Dyson animal! 4 cats, 2 high shedding dogs. It�s amazing!

V8 had a crap battery and wasn�t powerful. Like half as powerful as the V15 if that. I have the V15, best purchase.

Until it dies again because Dyson hasn�t fixed the issue. That�s why we gave up and went back to a V8

Ich hab irgendwann mal zu Dyson mit allem Firlefanz gegriffen. Nachdem ich den Kaufpreis verdaut habe, war ich dann auch zufrieden. Klar kann man an der Verarbeitung viel kritisieren und da sind auch schon irgendwelche Designelemente kaputtgegangen, wo man sich fragt, ob man wirklich ein Markenprodukt gekauft hat. Insgesamt ist das Teil aber durchdacht und funktioniert weiter uneingeschr�nkt.

I had my dyson v8 for 9 years. Same power adapter for all that time. 2 battery replacements. Used every second day.

I have a V8 that's 8 years old and the only thing I've ever replaced is the HEPA filter. Still works like new. Sometimes I wonder what people are doing with their vacuums

Just bought a second V8 for house. One per floor. They do all we need. Mixed carpet and hardwood and a dog.

The only correct answer. Millions sold and with very little advertising which is a testament to the brand. Been going for years without needlessly changing the design so you aren�t stuck with obsolete parts. Easily serviceable with inexpensive spare parts, all of which are readily available directly from Numatic and a decent range of attachments available too. Bought a Dyson cordless when I first moved in but it just felt a bit work shy and complained a lot. Replaced with a Henry and it�s a trooper. Does everything well with no fuss. I�ve used it in the garage. I�ve attached it to the mitre saw. It�ll ingest sawdust and nails like it�s nothing. Got one at the shop too, I�m sure it�s been there for at least 15 years and it�s used at least three times a week. Hasn�t seen a bag in years. What a fucking *brilliant* machine.
