SEBO - K2 Turbo

I had an excellent experience at my local vacuum store. After explaining what I was looking for, the owner showed me a few different canister models, followed by some upright vacuums. He explained all the features and advantages of each. Over an hour later, I walked out with the Sebo Airbelt K2, the very first vacuum he showed me. Perfect size for my mostly tile and laminate flooring home.

Honestly if you’re willing to spend up to $600, it’s really worth the extra $250-300 to get a Miele or a Sebo. I spent way more that that in vacuums I hated (shark, Dyson, Hoover, etc) and finally broke down and got a Sebo canister. I wish I’d done it sooner. Even the ‘higher end’ shark and Dyson are child’s play compared to the good vacuums.

Ok so maybe someone can tell me what's going on here. I have a Sebo, it does a good job on carpet but on linoleum does a shitty job like it doesn't have enough suction to effectively vacuum without the carpet head.

It’s one of those but once cry once things. A Miele or SEBO will last much longer and do a better job than a cheaper option.  It pays for itself in not having to replace it in a couple years.

Indeed, the Dyson is ideal for everyday light cleaning in smaller spaces or apartments. A canister vacuum is more suitable for thorough weekly cleaning of a larger home. Unfortunately, I cannot afford both the SEBO I purchased and a €1000 Dyson. I might consider a robot vacuum for automated daily cleaning and mopping in the future, though higher-quality models are also quite costly, similar to the Dyson, and also made in Asia, which I prefer to avoid.

The answer is always Miele or Sebo

Canister vacs come in a variety of prices based on accessories and if the vacuum has a power nozzle or straight suction. Straight suction vacuums are cheaper because there are no electrical connections in the hose or wand. Based on your budget and bare surfaces, a pure suction canister with an air driven floor attachment should work (the medium pile rugs might bog it down). Sebo K2 Turbo or a Miele C1 Turbo Team are two solid choices. A Sebo Felix is a worthy upgrade (the Dart's big brother). It's a more capable model, but more expensive. The Black Friday discounts are known at your local dealer, pop in and see what models they have on sale.

If you want “buy it for life,” go bagged Sebo or Miele. Everything else is basically disposable.

Love love love our Sebo it’s perfect and solid. Our cleaner has been in the business for decades and said Sebo vacuums are the absolute best.

Thank you so much! I decided to go with Sebo, seems like it's the quietest of them and with taxes and extra dust bags it will just be at the top of my budget. And probably comparable quality to Miele.

Sebo K2 or Miele M1 All Foor are two excellent options for your floors. Both are durable, lightweight, bagged and quiet. Miele's newest floor attachment, the FiberTeQ all floor is impressive. Find a local dealer and test drive these and other models. Henry is not readily available in the US, but as another poster noted, it's a contender in your market.

SEBO for the win!!

I’ve heard Miele customer support is getting to be not so great. I bought a Sebo, had it for two years, expect to have it for many more. My mom’s Miele is 10+ years old, 4 cats, 2 birds, still going like new.

I have a soft medium pile wool shag rug and the soft brush roll Sebo offers does great with it. I mostly vacuum it with suction only and use the brush roll maybe every other time but so far it’s stayed in great shape.

Adding on: The K2 is the only SEBO Canister that has the option to upgrade with a Hepa filter. It's an excellent canister vacuum; small but mighty.

You’ll save money. If you buy a Dyson or Shark you’ll have to spend another 200 or 300 bucks in a few years. If you buy a Sebo, you will be set for 10 to 20 years.

And officially it’s my goal to thank every single one of you all that recommended my vacuum for me. 6 months in with our particular Sebo and we’re hooked on the quality of it. OP, when you get a better vacuum, you’re going to flip at the night and day difference in customer service. Our new vacuum had a teeny tiny nuisance issue, took it to the shop where we bought it, turns out there was a service notice for the issue. Fixed and turned around in under 2 hours with no charge. That might do for you. I got a similar vac, a Titan fron Screwfix and have been very pleased with it. It's very noisy, as it's shop and not domestic. I bought it for dealing with various bits of dust and rubbleand ash, kept it as a general downstairs vac for floors that are brick and stone with rugs. Upstairs we have carpet and pets and I have a Sebo, but that's partly because I'm not prepared to lug the Titan up and down stairs, I need a vac on each floor. Sebo makes very good canister vacuums. Used to have a shark then it randomly broke and they wanted like 150$ for an entire new head, then the motor died. Sebo has parts that can easily be replaced and repaired too. The filtration is also top notch between the air filters and the filtered bag

The Miele electrobrush is substandard and the pieces break off, making it unusable. To replace even a tiny wheel is $55 for a single piece.

Don't buy the Miele! There little pieces break and to replace a single screw or tiny wheel is $55 each. I have a Sebo (German vacuum as well), which has never broken down piece by piece like the Miele. Highway robbery! The Miele vacuums are crap.

Get a sebo or something that will actually last years. Yes it’s corded but I can’t fathom spending 100’s on something that is as unreliable as Dyson vacuums.

I was in full decision paralysis by the time I got to chat with Andrea (geekvacuums). I love our local stores but none of them provided payment options that worked for our family. For those who need these options, def research and find a small business who Sebo supports. You’ll be able to get a better warranty than their own site or Amazon - plus you can still use the warranty at your local shops even though you don’t get from there. I am so amazed at the performance of this little vacuum. I wasn’t prepared for our carpets to feel this fresh and new after vacuuming ??

Preach. Miele’s turning into Dyson-lite and it’s sad. Check out SEBO K2/K3 or even Numatic Henry Allergy. They're built like tanks, bags are cheap, filters are solid, no Wi-Fi nonsense.

If you want another option, look into Sebo vacuums. They’re a bit pricey but built like tanks and great for allergy control. The sealed system is no joke.

I would check out r/vacuumcleaners. I have a Sebo, they have a 10 year warranty and are repairable.

I bought a SEBO about 10 years ago and it has never had a single issue. You cannot kill them.

A lot of people on here work in vacuum shops, either managing them or as technicians repairing vacuums. We are all telling you that Shark / Dyson are garbage and you have to spend a fair amount to get a decent vacuum that will last you 4+ years. If you have all hardwood floors or some very low pile carpet, get a SEBO K2/E2, or a Miele suction only model. If you have carpet that is fairly high pile, you are kind of forced to spend a decent amount for a E3 or K3 type vacuum. If you don’t want to spend that much, Kenmore makes some halfway decent vacuums like the Intuition or Pop N Go that are fairly affordable with an electric head. I don’t know why most of your replies to people are you arguing with people whose literal job it is to work with vacuums about what is good and what’s not.
