r/AskUK • Which hoover would you choose and why? ->For cordless vacuums I think an effective multi-cyclone system is a must so that the filter doesn't get clogged to quickly. Removable and replaceable batteries are also a must have so that the vacuum isn't a paperweight if the battery wears out or fails. Look for a brand with replacement parts available such as the brushroll, filters, and batteries. I recommend the LG CordZero Kompressor for cordless vacuums and you should add the LG Slim Floor Nozzle with the soft brushroll since you have all hard floors. Overall the LG CordZero is a good cordless vacuum I'd definitely get one of the models with the Kompressor lever because it helps empty the bin without having to stick your fingers in it. LG sells a bunch of different models so I'd look for one with a charging stand, 2 batteries, and the Kompressor lever. One of the Auto-Empty bins would be nice too. Even though the LG is a good cordless vacuum a corded canister vacuum will be the vacuum you want for weekly deep cleans. The Sebo K2 Kombi and Henry Allergy are 2 very powerful but quiet canister vacuums. The hose and tools will be much easier to use for above floor cleaning than holding all the weight of a cordless vacuum. If you walk barefoot, you can feel that a corded vacuum cleans hard floors more thoroughly than any cordless vacuum. So my recommendation is a good cordless vacuum and a good corded canister vacuum. You can get by with just a cordless vacuum but I think you'll really appreciate what a good corded vacuum can add.

r/arkisuomi →I’ve got the 15 with the laser, and agree it’s really there for convenience I can quickly grab it whilst I’m waiting for the coffee machine to heat up or the kettle to boil and give the living room / lounge a quick once over, etc It takes a bit of maintaining, so I’ve got a couple of filters so I can swap out when one needs washing, and you’ve gotta take it “apart” occasionally and clean out the canister and vents inside with a brush, but it works and has enough suction to do a decent job. I’ve got a good old Henry for the deep cleans, has way more suction but is much more heavy to carry around and means pulling out the cable and plugging it in
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->I switched from Miele to a Henry Allergy model and like it a lot. I still like Miele’s hard floor brush so I have that rigged on the Henry. I think Miele have the best air filtration but Henry is very close and hundreds less $.
r/BuyItForLife →My understanding is that the the Henrys (except for the Henry Allergy) do not have HEPA filtration. The HEPA-FLO bags that they sell are not actually HEPA filters - they use it as a trademark rather than to indicate it is HEPA filtration which is why I am not too keen on their HEPA claims for the Henry Allergy. Are they sweeping something under the carpet? I otherwise think Henry is an awesome vacuum cleaner except that I used the HEPA FLO bags for a while until I discovered that they were not true HEPA so felt deceived. Are you aware of any third party testing for Henry Allergy?

However I admit that they are cumbersome and they do deliberately throw themselves over in a tantrum, grab the corners of walls to avoid their workload and talk shit about you behind your back all while having a very smug look on their stupid red faces. That being said I would also reccomend miele. Also very good quality but much less personality.

Been going for years without needlessly changing the design so you aren’t stuck with obsolete parts. Easily serviceable with inexpensive spare parts, all of which are readily available directly from Numatic and a decent range of attachments available too. Bought a Dyson cordless when I first moved in but it just felt a bit work shy and complained a lot. Replaced with a Henry and it’s a trooper. Does everything well with no fuss. I’ve used it in the garage. I’ve attached it to the mitre saw. It’ll ingest sawdust and nails like it’s nothing. Got one at the shop too, I’m sure it’s been there for at least 15 years and it’s used at least three times a week. Hasn’t seen a bag in years. What a fucking *brilliant* machine.

To counter the Henry, Screwfix ow brand titan wet and dry vacuums are amazing! so cheap, but so much suction. George is a wet and dry hoover, and we have had one, but these days we have Henry and a Bessel carpet cleaner specifically for washing the carpets. Worth stating that most hoovers will fail to completely pull hairs up and so it’s useful to also have a rubber brush, or a window squidgee. You will be supposed at how much hair those things pull up

r/AskUK • View on Reddit →I built an accessory for my Henry using a cyclone and a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. You buy an extra pipe (nose) for Henry and run the cyclone in the middle. I've hoovered up all sorts, like the crap between 150 year old floorboards, to a room full of plaster that I've chopped off the walls with an SDS. The cyclone and the bucket do a really good job of catching about 99 percent of the big stuff. Gravity and centrifuge. (A bit like the concept of how Dyson came about, but on a 5 gallon scale). I also use it for dust extraction when woodworking. You wouldn't want to carry it from room to room to clean up after the pets. But if you are staying broadly in one spot it's an efficient way to collect a lot of stuff without using hundreds of bags. And it helps save Henry's lungs too.

I think the Henry I used at my previous job is still working as well, absolute cockeoaches, I admit they are large and clumsy and not ideal for smaller homes though

The Henry sucks up all the floof our golden retriever sheds without problem, and the Sebo does a good enough job on the carpet upstairs (where the dog is not supposed to go..)

(it's so bulky and also the hose makes noises in every move also the head is impossible to pull forward/backwards because you can't remove the hairs that tangle to the wheel) Oh and i think henry is the only vacuum i would buy as a bagged vacuum.
