I’ve always had a Dyson but recently I used a Miele and holy god they’re good! Next one I buy will be a Miele for sure!
r/newzealand • Briscoes sale - vacuum cleaner recommendations please!! ->I went sebo (E3) over miele due to: cheaper, better warranty, cheaper parts and repair, and sebo does one thing (make vacuums)... suprised theres no sebo dealer nearby, I recommend trying to fine one even if its a drive. Think of SEBO like volkswagen, and MIELE like BMW. the variety of responses here are proof positive of TRY BEFORE BUY I tried miele, sebo uprights, sebo felix, sebo canister. disliked the felix immediately upon trying, despite my mind leaning felix during the online research phase! I'm a total convert from upright to canister (or at least sebos version of it) but you need to assess if you can handle the quirks of a canister. downsides of a canister: 1) one more thing to keep track of (I got used to it fast, I just kick it around or pull it by the hose) 2) harder to store (pending a good solution to this...) 3) heavier to take up the stairs (but easier to actually vacuum said stairs) Upsides of the canister: 1) lighter IN HAND (the weight of the vacuum is supported by the floor, not your hand, in use). 2) cord rewind (wrapping up cords after a upright vacuum session sucks, the SEBO you just unplug and step on the retract button. 3) much easier to do top to bottom detail vacuuming (fans, vents, dusting, cabinets, walls, pictures, shelves, dusting), wand/hose mode reaches many more high places and without tipping over the upright. 4) easier to maneuver the power head. yes you gotta maneuver the canister into position, but once you do you can get that powerhead into alot more difficult to reach places (under beds, couches, rugs, tables). Easier to maneuver the canister than moving furniture. I'm over cordless due to wall to wall carpet, the time limit (good for quick pickups only), and I really dislike the cleaning/washing/emptying of bagless machines (which most cordless are). The whole reason I vacuum is to GET RID of dust, dirt and nastiness... why do I wanna go touching and breathing it later... in concentrated form, bathing in a big ol dust cloud?!
r/VacuumCleaners • Explain to me why you like a canister vac? And give me advice on what to get... ->Miele C1 is extremely light weight and all of the wheels are on separate casters. Very easy. The non-powered head from the dog/cat version still provides plenty of agitation for throw rugs.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->The general consensus here is that stick vacs as a whole aren't good. I think I'm inclined to agree when it comes to the absolute budget end of the spectrum like this. They won't perform and they won't last long. However I do genuinely think that stick vacs serve a purpose so I'm not against them like a lot of others on this sub. I have one that I use for quick pick ups and a quick run around every few days just to keep things looking ok. It is hugely convenient and my most used vacuum. But I have a corded canister and upright vacuum for deeper cleans every week or so. If I need to do a "proper" clean, the stick vac isn't coming out. You just have to go into the purchase knowing that even if you spend a little more, they're not going to be the longest lasting thing and won't perform as well as a half decent mains powered vacuum with a powered head, and in some cases they won't even perform as well as a canister with a turbo brush. Do you need the convenience of a stick vac? And what flooring do you mainly have?
r/VacuumCleaners • MONSGA Cordless ->Whilst it's less convenient, I find a canister vacuum the lightest to work with, although you do need to manoeuvre the machine around on the floor. With a canister you're barely holding any weight in your hand, it's all down on the floor. For above floor cleaning it's the best experience, and then for carpets and floors it's also easy as you're only pushing around the wand and floor head. In terms of lightweight sticks I don't know too many really I'm afraid. Sebo balance and Dyson V12 are both light. I can't speak to the longevity and quality of either though. I owned a V12 for a bit and it was light to use but I returned it as couldn't justify the expense for my daily runaround vacuum. I own a Levoit LVAC 200 which is...fine...but does a poor job on carpets, it will really only skim the surface. I replaced that with a Tineco Pure One Station Five. It's a bit heavier but it does the job and I picked it up new in box on eBay for about £125. The self empty station really helps and it does an ok job just keeping things looking clean. However I'm not sure how long it'll last as some of the joints are already getting creaky and loose.
r/VacuumCleaners • MONSGA Cordless ->If you get one with a turbo brush it'll be ok, not fantastic but it'll be better than just a straight suction head. I use a Miele canister with a turbo brush and it doesn't dig as deep as my upright with a powered head but it's fine. If you have low pile carpets then it should be ok. For me the convenience of a canister is the versatility of using it for above floor cleaning of upholstery, dusting etc...then also hard floors and area rugs/carpets. There are very limited canister vacuums available in the UK with powered heads, basically I think it's only Sebo who do them now - the K3, E3 and D4. However even the K3 is probably above your budget.
r/VacuumCleaners • MONSGA Cordless ->keep in mind a bagless vacuum will move that dust dander into the air, better off leaving it on carpet or floor, get something with good filter bag like a miele c1 with turbo if a cannister is doable
r/VacuumCleaners • Need Vacuum Recommendation Under $500 that is easy to handle for disabled individuals ->Depends if you want a powered brush for carpet/rugs, c1 very short cord, so c3 or new guard series in miele or k or e series on sebo, e3 has powered head, e2 includes a torbo air powered head for rugs , and e1 just straight suction
r/VacuumCleaners • Miele or Sebo for Tile and Laminate Floors? ->I’ve sold Miele for over 25 years. I’ve never seen that before. Why don’t you just let them give you another hose
r/VacuumCleaners • Return Advice Needed ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

If you get a Miele the c1 are one year warranty complete are 3 year unless it’s the home care model after it I killed mine (unusual circumstances) it should be fine I used about 10 years in 3 long story but I love them they are the best I had a c1 I didn’t know the difference in warranties … I will stay with Miele for ever ! Just getting complete so I have 3 years ! Or the complete home care line too
r/VacuumCleaners • Vacuum for my parents - sebo recommendations or otherwise ->Dyson are an utter rip off. I sympathise completely with you. Used to own one and I felt I’d have to do two rounds of the house to get it clean. Go for a Miele, they are cheaper and significantly better.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->Henry has always been the best hoover in my eyes and I've used many over the years. However I admit that they are cumbersome and they do deliberately throw themselves over in a tantrum, grab the corners of walls to avoid their workload and talk shit about you behind your back all while having a very smug look on their stupid red faces. That being said I would also reccomend miele. Also very good quality but much less personality.
r/AskUK • Which hoover would you choose and why? ->I bought my Miele in 2004 and it's still running strong. Full disclosure: my husband broke the power head 10 years ago. I can't remember what he did except that it was a goofus move. I was really annoyed but I replaced the power head, kept the husband, and the vacuum has been running well ever since.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->No. The M1 Cat & Dog is a suction only machine, it does not come with a power nozzle. The attachment it includes is an air driven turbo and the package no longer includes the handheld mini turbo tool. We have bare floors and wool rugs on the main floor and use the C3 with the SEB 228 power nozzle. C3 models like the Kona, Cat & Dog, HomeCare, and Marin. The Miele Classic C1 is your entry-level option with a power nozzle and should be discounted still at your local dealer. We have two very active Corgis that bring in mud, leaves, fur, etc., especially now that we have rain and snow. I use the Bona flat mop with microfiber pad and hardwood floor cleaner. For quick cleanups, I grab the Bona mop handle and use the Bona pre-soaked pads for hard wood. I use the basic Bona pet system that includes the tool, dusting mop and micro fiber pad. They also make waterbased cleaning solutions for cleaners that are safer for pets.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Another poster said it: Miele C1. The Classic C1 or Turbo C1, both are pure suction machines, no powerhead, and small/lightweight. I'd do a basic C1, then add the handheld turbo tool for the stairs and the parquet twister for the hardwood floors. Miele's new FiberTeQ Allfloor attachment is another option ($100 add on). If you buy from a local dealer, they will discount it or throw in attachments as a package deal.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →I have a Miele canister vac that's great for hardwoods and rugs. personally, I prefer it to a stick vacuum (I can use it in couch crevices/on any upholstery, etc), and it's going on 24 years strong.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Did you mean CX1 instead of C1? The C1 is bagged and has a replaceable Hepa filter.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Get one of the better Miele’s. My wife was pissed when I spent what I did on one. That was 17 years ago. She now says it was one of the best things I’ve even bought.
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →I have a Miele canister. Love it! We have a lot of hard surfaces (hard wood and tile). I got the extra large attachment for hard floors, but honestly the normal sized one it comes with would be sufficient.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Canister vacs come in a variety of prices based on accessories and if the vacuum has a power nozzle or straight suction. Straight suction vacuums are cheaper because there are no electrical connections in the hose or wand. Based on your budget and bare surfaces, a pure suction canister with an air driven floor attachment should work (the medium pile rugs might bog it down). Sebo K2 Turbo or a Miele C1 Turbo Team are two solid choices. A Sebo Felix is a worthy upgrade (the Dart's big brother). It's a more capable model, but more expensive. The Black Friday discounts are known at your local dealer, pop in and see what models they have on sale.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →The Miele electrobrush is substandard and the pieces break off, making it unusable. To replace even a tiny wheel is $55 for a single piece.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →I’ve sold Miele for over 25 years. I’ve never seen that before. Why don’t you just let them give you another hose
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Neither, I’d get a Miele. Really didn’t like our Shark, haven’t ever had a Henry.
r/AskUK • View on Reddit →Nicest home vacuum I’ve ever used was a Miele, but nothing compares to an industrial shop vac. This thing will suck up dust, hair and all of the contents of a 50L fish tank and not miss a beat. https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/v508
r/australia • View on Reddit →Depends if you want a powered brush for carpet/rugs, c1 very short cord, so c3 or new guard series in miele or k or e series on sebo, e3 has powered head, e2 includes a torbo air powered head for rugs , and e1 just straight suction
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Same it took me years. The amount of vacuums I bought in between that time (since I could only spend about $ 150) I could’ve gotten multiple mieles! I finally used after pay!!
r/housekeeping • View on Reddit →Well,I did it. I walked into a vacuum cleaner store and repair shop just to see this Sebo upright people refer to. I had already ordered a Kenmore BU4050 based on reviews although I have never seen one. I've been through every vacuum type imaginable in the last - ahem - 40 years. Starting with Electrolux canister on glider rails, a family hand-me-down. Dirt Devil tiny little canister. Hoover upright, Sanitaire commercial upright, Miele stick vac with removable handheld dustbuster thing, Miele canister. Had a Dyson V5 for when the canister was too heavy to pull out. Shark Navigator Pet upright - nimble, easy to use, went under bed - I liked it for a long time but slider for floor type change got stuck and it all those plastic parts got a little rickety. I learned: While cordless is quick and easy, it's also weak suction. Sanitair upright cleaned well on carpet but no accessories. Dysons are pretty colored plastic but all marketing, hurts my wrist, went through 2 batteries, just top heavy, and poor suction. Miele corded stick vacuum had very strong suction but was too heavy and center of mass is midway up so awkward unless you are very strong and was not self standing. Miele canister is great but all those accessories take up a lot of space and I'm over moving canisters around and banging the wall. Bagless was good as a novelty but so messy - the vacuum itself attracted dust and emptying always led to some dust on me. So I wanted a bagged, corded, self-standing, upright that had a low center of gravity, was nimble, no too heavy, and could go under the bed. Even though the sales guy was enthusiastic and informative but not pushy, the Sebo Felix sold itself. I bought the Sebo Felix even though I wasn't going there to buy, just see it. It does every thing I want and is much quieter. 10 year warranty, locally serviced by "Onyx" dealer \[that's what they call official dealers\], give loaner vacs if it takes more than 3 days. The store has been there 26 years, first the father and now the son owns it. They repair every brand of vacuum but only sell Sebo, Miele, and some in-the-wall systems. When I think of all the money I've spend on vacuums .... The good ones were Electrolux, Miele, Sanitaire, and for a while the Shark impressed me. Now I hope the Sebo will be my last vacuum. $700 US, price goes up $200 on September 25 due to tariffs. Dealer said he's sold 17 of them this month from special orders I will return the Kenmore BU4050 unopened when it arrives.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →I also prefer bagged. I have experience with the miele classic c1 and kenmore elite 21814. Both are great. Miele is super light and easier to carry. Best choice if you have stairs. But I like how close to the ground the kenmore gets (but it is fairly heavy to carry up or down stairs). If you can afford it, it's definitely worth investing in a high quality vacuum especially of you have pets.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Yes I little bit over your budget but the best vacuum out there. https://a.co/d/fxm5xqZ
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →I’ve always had a Dyson but recently I used a Miele and holy god they’re good! Next one I buy will be a Miele for sure!
r/newzealand • View on Reddit →It’s very good if you buy the turbo Miele brush attachment. https://a.co/d/erXDgBl
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Miele - with a bag, cord, etc. No complaints! We had a Shark, really didn’t like it (though we still have a Shark handvac).
r/AskUK • View on Reddit →I bought a Miele C1 online and I’m happy with it. I normally try to go brick and mortar, but felt placated by what I read online—particularly on the vacuum sub.
r/pittsburgh • View on Reddit →Miele C1 is hands down the best vacuum for the money!
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →none, save your money and get a vacuum that isn't overpriced and unreliable like every shark is, for $400 you can get a really decent spec miele or sebo, both of which are fantastic for carpets
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →In my opinion Miele has gone downhill recently. Cheap breakable plastic parts. You have to buy specific vacuum bags that cost a lot and if you buy the knockoffs the vacuum will not work properly.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →It’s one of those but once cry once things. A Miele or SEBO will last much longer and do a better job than a cheaper option. It pays for itself in not having to replace it in a couple years.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →keep in mind a bagless vacuum will move that dust dander into the air, better off leaving it on carpet or floor, get something with good filter bag like a miele c1 with turbo if a cannister is doable
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Dyson are an utter rip off. I sympathise completely with you. Used to own one and I felt I’d have to do two rounds of the house to get it clean. Go for a Miele, they are cheaper and significantly better.
r/AskIreland • View on Reddit →Both are excellent choices, go to the store and test drive them. The Sebo K2 is the only SEBO Canister that has an optional Hepa filter, so it is a direct competitor to the C1. Both vacuums are durable and designed for years of reliable service. The Sebo warranty is longer, expendables such as bags (yes they have a cap to seal in dust when you change them) and filters are cheaper, and Sebo premium parquet floor attachment is an excellent tool for bare floors. Both brands have the same parquet twister which is also an excellent bare floor attachment.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Twenty seven years ago we purchased a Eureka canister that broke within a year. We ended up with a Miele. That thing still runs and I use it to clean my unfinished basement twice a year. My new Miele canister lives on my first floor for hardwood and my Sebo upright in s upstairs for carpeting. The Sebo is heavy but it’s a beast that will definitely outlive me. I now have two very cheap cordless vacuums that I use like Dustbusters. I’ve never understood why people buy that Dyson crap. There are complaints everywhere. There’s a difference between a company that spends money on engineering and quality and one that spend it on advertising. Dyson spends it on advertising. I’d vote for Miele everyday.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →And honestly as a house cleaner who has used so many vacuums personally without having to pay for it, I can’t freakin stand the Miele. So not worth the hype
r/CleaningTips • View on Reddit →Don't buy the Miele! There little pieces break and to replace a single screw or tiny wheel is $55 each. I have a Sebo (German vacuum as well), which has never broken down piece by piece like the Miele. Highway robbery! The Miele vacuums are crap.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Miele is a great brand. Had mine a few years now to supplement the off brand roomba
r/corgi • View on Reddit →Miele turbo c1 blue one I bought it happy with it
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Honestly if you’re willing to spend up to $600, it’s really worth the extra $250-300 to get a Miele or a Sebo. I spent way more that that in vacuums I hated (shark, Dyson, Hoover, etc) and finally broke down and got a Sebo canister. I wish I’d done it sooner. Even the ‘higher end’ shark and Dyson are child’s play compared to the good vacuums.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →The Miele C1 with the AllTeQ floor attachment is a good pick for your situation. The AllTeQ has retractable bristles for bare floors and low pile carpets. The on board tools will help with dusting, upholstery and cleaning crevices. I have three Miele's and they are dependable machines that perform well. When you get back to the states, the C1 will continue to serve you well.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →As a house cleaner, I very rarely come across a Dyson I like. They’re big and clunky, don’t roll in a straight line, and if your carpet is too lush and thick, they are completely unusable.
r/CleaningTips • View on Reddit →I only use Miele. I use the bagged canister design for the whole house and for every mess. Even pet hair.
r/GuiltyDogs • View on Reddit →Sounds like most of your surfaces are hardwood vs carpet. If the carpet is low pile, you might be able to get a suction-only machine with a turbo floor tool. I recommend limiting your search to bagged models, none of the bagless models will provide the HEPA filtration you need. Are you in or near a city that has a vacuum dealer? If yes, they will assess your needs and work with you (discounts, demonstrations, etc.), its possible to get an entry level upright or canister in your budget and HEPA needs (Riccar Superlite, Miele C1). Most dealers have used models they refurbished at deep discounts from new/MSRP and have HEPA technology. Riccar, Filter Queen, Rainbow, Kirby, Sebo, Miele U1 and many others will meet your budget as a refurbished option.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Miele an Sebo are the premium canisters due to quality, warranty, and filtration. Of the two, Miele hoses are more flexible. I have both the Sebo E3 and D4, and both hoses are stiff and bulky due to their tapered design. I also have the Miele C3 and prefer it for dusting because Miele makes a larger, fully articulating brush (SUB 20) that works on the ceiling fans and bookshelves. For hard floor cleaning, the parquet twister is my go to, both Sebo and Meile have a version of this attachment. Based on your cleaning needs, a suction only machine will work well. Look at the Miele Classic C1 or Guard M1. Sebo comes in a close second place for portability. Look at the E1 or K2 Kombi and add the parquet twister. If you have a vacuum dealer, go there, the Black Friday discounts will be better and they will give you a package discount for any additional attachments, bags, etc.
r/VacuumCleaners • View on Reddit →Miele and not Roomba haha Miele lasts forever, Roomba is just ok from day 1
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I used to work at a local vac shop in Ottawa Ontario. We used to get a lot of refurbished V6s, V7s and V8s, mind you this was like 8 years ago. I got myself a V6 for upstairs ( It was like $180) and a V8 for the living room and that was about $230. i dont even know if Dyson still does the Refurbs, they still come with a one year warranty if i remember. After the one year warranty is up i would use the 3rd party batteries for the Dysons. Its cheaper and you can get 2 some times. I also got a refub Miele cannister and my wife can tell quickly if i vaccumed with the Miele instead of the Dysons. You need to have the power on high for the Dysons to suck as good as the canisters, but it kills the battery stupid quick.
