I have a 39" LG W-OLED 240Hz and I love it, if they had the 45" in stock at the time I would have taken it.

For immersion in adventure games or racing get the 39. If PPI matters get the 34. What made me return the 39 and get the 34 was the fringing and how everything looks stretched. In competitive games you will noticed a bunch of artifacts, jagged edges, and text fringing. Dota 2 for example, after a match I was so exhausted that I couldn't even look at the screen anymore. Same for Age of Empires.

my current desk is 55.1" x 23.6", a bit off from your dimensions i used to run dual 32" for content consumption and gaming(both console and PC), i did run dual monitor arms for the displays and to me it didn't feel like they both were too wide for my desk with them going over a bit on each side. gaming and web browsing were the priority for that setup. next setup was with an 49" Samsung(for gaming and productivity), the dual 32s' mounted to the wall atop the 49" were for things like discord, emails and web browsing. though i enjoyed all the screen real estate, it didn't last long and thoughts of sizing down became paramount. i thought "how about" an single 34" but having 32" displays it didn't feel right, then i thought 45" LG Ultragear OLED but after owning the 49" (to me) that was still a tad bit wide for what i wanted. i ended up with an newly purchased(earlier this month) 39" LG Ultragear OLED. FOR ME it checks all the things i was looking for as far as size, specs and use. I use it for photo/video editing via my new mac mini m4 and def for FPS gaming(again console and PC). HDR when gaming has been an eye opener and game changer on this display. in my opinion, the 39" compliments MY desk's dimensions. On an monitor arm and positioned directly in the middle of the desk at arms length. haha, sorry for the looong read. good luck with whatever you decide.

I found a really great workaround that practically solved my PPI issue with text. I just bought the LG 39" OLED WQHD Curved Monitor (39GS96QB, deal from Costco) and immediately noticed the fuzzy text issue. I asked ChatGPT and it prompted me to search "`Adjust ClearType text`" This worked amazingly well and now I am not struggling to read things on a white backdrop. Exact steps: * **Search**: `Adjust ClearType text` in Windows search * Go through the wizard and choose the clearest text in each step. * This helps Windows adapt to the subpixel layout of your OLED.

It’s not a highly rated monitor but if you’re trying to keep your FPS, it’s a good compromise for gaming. I got mine for $450 and sold my two monitors for $300, so for $150 it was a worth while upgrade. But up to you on the price (IMO don’t spend over $500).

I own the UW1440p and it's an excellent monitor for gaming. I also play FPS shooters and have essentially the same computer (5070Ti instead of 9070XT), and it's a perfect monitor for that. Having said that, since you can find both for similar prices, I'd probably go with the 5k2k. You guys can always pop in a 5090 or whatever is king down the road, and AM5 will be supported for years.

39-in LG Ultragear at Costco is currently $550. You don't need a membership to buy it online and have it shipped to your house. It is a WQHD monitor with an 800R curve, so it's not going to be for everybody. I just ordered one. Normally these things are about $1,000.

My stepdad has the non-oled. It's a lovely monitor, but not for everyone. When I got my oled, I decided against this one, because I prefer 21:9 ratio over 32:9. So got an lg oled 39 inch one. I enjoy more physical height over width.

I’ve never tried the 45, but the 39 definitely feels like it’s pushing the limits of the PPI. It’s great for gaming, but smaller text on webpages, Windows menus, documents, etc. looks awful. It’s fine in games because the text is much larger on HUD elements.

OLED: Not currently. I did get one of LG's woefully under-rated 38BN95C-W monitors on sale for $850 a while back (3840x1600, 144hz nano IPS). About as close as you will get currently. Not perfect, but i dont ever remember that when i'm playing games on it. The picture is brilliant, and the size/curve is amazing. The adjustable curve model is about the only replacement i'd accept over it now. Tried to like the ultragear 3440x1440 OLED model in the same size but the pixel density was noticeable to me.

I went from G9 VA version to LG ultragear 39 oled To 2 alienware 34 oled vertically mounted then put them side by side Then got an awesome deal during prime day 480$ for G9 oled version, I've seen the 57 for 1k$ but that's double the price. So the LG and Alienware were matte screens and this G9 oled was the glossy and it blew me away for color. The 57 is the same tech as my old G9 qd mini led VA panel I believe? Color and response time trade off for more vertical screen space is kinda tempting because my old G9 had great color but I don't know if I would want to go back to it now that I've had oled for last few months, also my monitor lives under a hutch and fits nicely the 57 would be extra big but you clearly got room for that. Recommend getting 57 using it and then selling the one you don't like, and post back what you think is better for you

I have a setup close to your #1option, but i have two stacked monitors and a vertical to the right. While working from home 5 days a week, I've used my Dell Alienware AW3423DWF as a main monitor for 2 years and have no issues. There's a feature to have pixel shift done while the monitor is on to help mitigate potential pixel burn-in. And also, since I was used 2nd monitor stacked on top, I would keep all desktop icons on that screen and I would have Outlook and web browser opened majority of the day in one spot on that 2nd screen too. Excel and and other windows from another program I would have e opened on my OLED, but I would be closing and reopening windows like every 15 - 25 minutes. And the taskbar I would keep on autohide and my wallpaper is set to all black. All of this I do because I would be working on the monitor for up anywhere from 4 to 6 hours straight. Within that time I take a break no matter what, and I would power the OLED off and it'll start doing its pixel refresh (this is different from pixel shift). After 3 years, no issues at all and I'm still using the monitor, but now as my vertical screen. I hardly have anything on it amd just use it if I need documents opened in long form. I got a LG 39"OLED last year and that is my main monitor and I did the same with that as I did with the Alienware. After a year so far, no issues. The only difference though, if I get up to leave for a long break, I don't power the monitor off manually, I just sure any application window on that screen is closed or minimized before walking away. The monitor itself will shutdown in a power save mode once the laptop goes to sleep state or if no screen activity detected in like 10 min. The pixel refresh starts when monitor shutdowns in power save mode. In OSD, you can set the pixel refresh to happen in 4hrs, 6hrs, or 8hrs - message will pop-up to warn you that a pixel refresh will happen soon when it gets down to 5 mins before it hit the hour mark of the selected. The timer for this starts from the time the monitor is powered on. A refresh is done typically ever time the monitor is powered off or go into power save mode. If after an hour passes, and you manually power the monitor or let it shutdown on its own, the pixel refresh will auto start. 6 or 8 minutes it takes for it to be done. You power it back on after that, the that timer will start over again. If you power the monitor off and then right back on, then the timer will start back where left off. As long you utilize the pixel shifter and pixel refresher features, you'll be fine. On weekends or off days I do game on the monitor. I might average 4 - 5 hrs here and there. On my PC, it's not setup like my work laptop, meaning, I have a custom wallpaper and don't use the autohide on my taskbar. Lol.

I love mine, performs fairly well with my 4070 at 5K2K on esports games which was better than I was expecting. I do wish it had the TVapps and smart features so I could have the best of both worlds. I previously had the 39in LG UltraGear for about a month and it had all these cool ai enhancements for the audio which made the built in speakers perform really well which was sweet. Given that the 5K2K is mainly gaming focused though, it does make sense why they didn’t put those features but would’ve made me feel like I got more for the money.

I've only been looking into WOLEDs but found that they also covered planned QDs at around 16 minutes in [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjCQzKwgBow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjCQzKwgBow) They have a less aggressive curve at 1800R Currently have an 1800R VA panel myself and it's great for media, productivity and gaming. I just haven't seen any mentioned in the 39" size for your height preference. LG does have a 39" currently but its 3440 x 1440. Similar to running 1440p monitor on 32" screen. Not sure if PPI is a dealbreaker as well. Here's the WOLED roadmap for comparison, has past and present models at about 19:40 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYRevThUUw&t=1061s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYRevThUUw&t=1061s) As for more curve talk, I'm still hesitant about the 800R curve from looking at pictures from above, but most people say it's great for 39" and higher models and you get used to it for gaming. My initial ideal monitor was WOLED 34" but with a less aggressive curve, but that's not in LGs roadmap for the next 2 years so I'm just going to give 800R a try. Saw one in person at a BestBuy with a game demo running. I thought it was fine for gaming, but don't know how it'll feel for movies or productivity, so my plan is keep my VA for productivity and WOLED for gaming. So that's the current market for 21:9 ultrawides 34" QD OLEDs at 3440x1440 now in 240hz (109 ppi) 39" LG WOLEDs at 3440x1440 now in 240hz (95 ppi) 39" LG WOLEDs at 5120x2160 late this year (142 ppi) I also haven't kept up as much with OLEDs so theres a chance a 39" QD may have been announced at CES

21:9 - it changed my perspective on everything. I got a 39" UWQHD 240Hz OLED monitor half a year ago (+ 2x32" WQHD with the same height) , and I should have switched much earlier. The PPI is perfectly acceptable while still delivering capped FPS in most games. 9 out of 10 games support ultrawide without any issues. For the remaining ones, there's usually a patch or fix available. If no solution exists, I skip the game, request a refund, and leave a negative review. I expected compatibility to be much more problematic. (And it's a pretty nice FoV "cheat" for some of my favorite games: Rust, Overwatch, GTA, WoW, Path of Exile, ...)

Using a 39" lg oled, and having used an 1800r g9 oled before, 800r is goated. It's a bit in your face at first, but after a couple hours it's great. If anything, I would like it even more agressive. If it was adjustable like their last 45 incher, I would basically never even do that. I actually used to get a bit motion sick on 1800r, and I don't on 800. The matte... yeah... Well, it's matte. Hopefully LG start dropping glossy's one day. QD doesn't work for my environment.

I'm using the LG 39" OLED. I was very hesitant with an 800R curve and matte finish, but this may very well be the best monitor I have ever used... however... I was getting headaches/eyestrain from it when I first bought it (coming from LG Nano IPS which was about perfect, but 27" was too small). I adjusted the colors/warmth and haven't had any issues. Have you attempted to change your settings with your current monitor to alleviate your headaches?

Having tested a lot of monitors and varying monitor sizes I think 39-45" curved is ideal for 21:9 with the right setup, though I know some will argue 34"/flat since a lot of people don't like going above 27" for 16:9. Using an LG 39" as we speak. Would love to test the GX9!

I have one and for my limited gamespace it’s doing great. I moved up from a 60hz 34in ultrawide so the 2x framerate was a major plus. Very sharp, great color gamut. The 800mm radius of the monitor is wide enough that the sides feel like they wrap around you.  I get a tiny little flicker on 30 or 60fps menu screens, but it’s normal for OLED screens when you’re running Gsync. Barely noticeable in any case, and in-game that isn’t a factor.
