Realistically, the curve of the monitor is fantastic. Loved the small curve on my AW34DWF. Would like to see it more - where I sit, it'd be nice. 5K2K is probably perfect, especially with DLSS. And the peak brightness? Doesn't really matter to me if QD-OLED or WOLED, the picture quality will be good.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I started off with a VA panel (AOC CU34G2X) then upgraded to an OLED Alienware 34" - yes the OLED is better in many ways but the VA panel was great and I didn't really notice too much smearing. I used it both for work and gaming. I'm actually using both 34 inch monitors right now and both are fine for everyday tasks and I play games on the OLED. The OLED though - man, it's like playing a different game.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why are all of the 34” ultrawide monitors VA panels or OLED? ->I used a 3440x1440 qd-oled monitor for years and it was a great experience, but when I upgraded my gpu to be able to push a 4k 240hz monitor I made the switch. It was an adjustment at first, but I can confidently say that I prefer the 32" 4k at this point. It actually takes up more of my field of vision and the added clarity is great
r/OLED_Gaming • Gaming on 34" 1440p ultrawide or 4k 32"? ->I really like my AW3423DWF but I wouldn't say it gives a huge advantage because it's wide. Maybe a tiny bit more immersion? I'd prioritize a 1440p OLED.
r/ArcRaiders • Ultra-wide or OLED for ARC Raiders? ->I‘m asking me the same question for a few days. Right now I got the Alienware AW3423DWF 34 inch QD-OLED here and it is amazing for games like WoW. But not as much for console games as you get black borders with the 16:9 aspect ratio.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG C5 42" used as a 21:9 display; My Impressions. ->I have an ultrawide 34in Alienware oled. Only complaint is that it’s only 165hz. I think they just released a new version that’s 240h though. Some people say ultrawide is bad for fps games but I’ve never had an issue and had really good ranking in marvel rivals and a high kd in Warzone.
r/pcmasterrace • Best Gaming Monitor to Buy Right Now? ->I have alienware 34 inch 2025 ultrawide, as good as ultra wide is I am waiting for 4k tandem oled 27 inch in trueblack glossy. The ultrawide qd oled panels are just too dim and not keen on semi gloss (night time non issue) I have 2 TVs at home I play on more 65 inch oled/mini led and prefer 4k. I was considering 5k2k 34 inch when released next year but matt screen and the colours are weaker then qd oled or tandem woled
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Torn between 34" ultrawide OLED or 32" 4K OLED for gaming ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

Got the Alienware dwf 34” recently and it’s amazing. First oled, and the colors are amazing. For racing it’s nice and have a good FOV imo. I notice racing at 60fps is less smooth than 165fps, didn’t test inbetween, so maybe the cap of difference is lower than 165hz. Saw a somebody comparing and they said that after 140hz they didn’t notice a difference anymore (tested 60, 140, 244). I got my monitor from amazon returns. You get good discounts on good as new products. In my case the box was opened (it looked shit) but nothing was wrong with the monitor itself, still got 30% discount. I also have 2 year warranty as normal for new monitors.
r/simracing • 34” ultrawide monitor is it worth it? ->Im still using my qd oled 3440x1440 ultra wide 165 alienware. I also have a 77 in 144hz 4k qd oled tv and that works plenty for most games. Depends on what monitors you already have but for me, I'll wait till the teck gets better. My dream monitor is not out yet
r/nvidia • Best gaming monitor for 5090 ->[2 main ones are the AW3423DWF and the G85SB.](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcmonitor/comments/1h2h5uf/dell_alienware_aw3423dwf_vs_samsung_odyssey_oled/) I agree that the Alienware has better software and overall build quality from my experience. There is a newer gen that just got announced, but the AW3423DWF is like $650 now and super worth it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 34 inch oled monitor? ->First time I really noticed ppi was playing stalker 2 on my aw 34" OLED. I mean it looks good but I later bought aw 32" 4k monitor and wow what a game changer. 4k is immediately noticeable from first booting on the PC. I'm waiting on the 5k2k from best buy I feel like that's the endgame monitor for me. I loved ultrawide but missed the height of my 32". End of the day it's personal preference. I highly recommend becoming a best buy plus member is $50 a year and you get 60 days for returns. No questions asked. I take full advantage when I'm trying out new products.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Dell Alienware AW3423DWF 34 inch. Honestly I love it though for elite i occasionally miss my other 34 that has more vertical (this is a lot wider and a little shorter). I play in VR any time I can be arsed though. Running 3080 and 7800x3d, smooth as butter. Anything over 90fps I can't really notice so I have it capped there. Run somewhere between high and ultra
r/EliteDangerous • View on Reddit →From my personal experience I have to disagree. Have been using an AW34DWF for like a year now and have been working full-time as a dev on a Mac and gaming in the evening on my PC. At least on the Alienware the text is very clear, had no issues at all. And no burn in as of yet.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Yeah gotnitna few days ago, ultrawide is awesome for immersion. Now the only thing better would be a 4k version of it
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →fairly old thread, but i'm only gonna list the CONS . i'm making this for the ones wondering on Google .... cons : \-the base of the monitor (the stand) is chunkkky. it is \*\*11inches\*\* deep, so if you're getting a fancy desk, make sure it actually fits on the monitor stand (i'm actually taking a gamble on this soon) . i see many YouTubers just by a mount, but I don't believe in that . \-not too thrilled that it doesn't have at least some sort of audio, even if there was just a small speaker on the backside (headphone jack is included ON monitor tho !!) \-i'm not a RGB geek at all, but even I will say that the AFXLighting modes are lacking . it has a 20-count color assortment to choose from in the AlienFX Lighting settings menu, but only spectrum lighting or static lighting . \-mounting a webcam is a little awkward at the middle of the screen due to the internal cooling vents that jut out the back . luckily i already like the off-center look . it's aesthetic as i have a neat lil face-tracking webcam anyway \-hearing a loud thump every time i push down to lower the screen to the minimum height and getting a heart attack \-\^cuz, E X P E N S I V E still scared after about 10months \*TLDR; the AW3423DWF is amazing asf, just some small space (and PRICE) concerns to be worried about, but they are on sale regulary as I got mine like $100 off at the time ...\* \*\* \*9.5 out of 10\* \*\* edit: 11in per leg until you reach the trunk part where you can pass cables under, which is 3in MORE
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Yes, I have an AW 34" QD-OLED at home and the MSI 34" QD-OLED at work. Same panel inside both. I do both video editing and game development (coding). I used Cleartype and picked the best option and haven't had any issues with eye fatigue or reading text. I have a monitor arm for each so they're the perfect comfy distance from my face, and use dark themes and low lighting to keep the contrast in the room reasonable. I do have a side 4:3 monitor for additional code or reference web pages, especially for game dev where I may have 2-3 editor windows up in addition to the C++ code. Three years in, would not switch to anything else (I've tried a few times just out of curiosity). Maybe in 6-7 years when the next OLED tech comes out.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I made the switch from LG C2 to Alienware AW3423DWF this last couple months and it feels way more natural to me (still have the C2 for movies and couch games) and while I'm sitting at a desk the size is more appropriate and it looks just as good as my LG imo. Definitely found that games perform a lot better and I'm not having to turn settings down really with my 3080ti.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I just got an open box one for $500, said “residue” there was a tiny sticker smudge on the corner of the screen. Rubbed right off.
r/buildapcsales • View on Reddit →It's going to be above your price limit, but there's a good chance the AW3423DWF drops back down to $550 pre tax on Amazon during the Black Friday sales. I have one and it is definitely worth the price if you can afford to spend a bit more. They have a 2025 version that's 240hz, but that's going to be another $100~ pre tax vs the 2023 model.
r/buildapc • View on Reddit →if you dont mind buying used, carou's a solid place to look - i just got the DWF for 750sgd in pretty much new condition just need to keep in mind that you do run the risk of getting a lemon or the seller lying about the condition
r/askSingapore • View on Reddit →Alienware aw3423dwf. Glossy QD OLED and 165hz and you can sometimes find it as a good deal. 165 hz is solid for UW gaming
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I strongly recommend the AW3423DWF. It’s a 34” 1440p QD-OLED, it’s all I need. Gonna be honest, yes I can tell the difference between 4K and 1440p but I don’t appreciate it nearly as much as I did going from 1080 to 1440. ESPECIALLY because the performance dropoff is so harsh. 1440p is absolutely good enough that I still think it’s the sweet spot for gaming.
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →Yeah, the [AW3423DWF](https://a.co/d/ivttxsk) probably the way to go. I don't see the justification of +$230 for the AW3423DW.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I'm using an Alienware AW3423DWF at 3440\*1440 and all is fine and dandy.
r/mac • View on Reddit →Funny enough, the AW3423DWF just dropped back down to $549.99 on Amazon.
r/buildapc • View on Reddit →I hear stories like that, but then hear about nightmares ?????. Tbf most of the text issues I remember were for the Alienware QD-Oled ultrawide. I might go oled, but idk. Its gonna be at least a few months anyway.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I have it and use it for PUBG and light use for browsing and other stuff. For gaming HDR and the colours are much better on the OLED. For 3D editing I use a 4K IPS monitor, it’s much better. Text/UI is sharper in 4K and I don’t have to worry about burn in of the UI elements. I’d be worried if I used the OLED for that. Text clarity is not bad, I would say slightly worse than IPS but not a deal breaker. It’s possible to use as your only monitor, but I’m not sure I would. There is no ideal monitor for 50/50 gaming/productivity, pick a lane buddy. Or get both.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Aw3423dwf is fantastic for the price (when you can get it for less than $650). Even $650 is great but because the newer one came out you can find it for less, still new. Your price range there are a plethora and the is sub is littered with comparisons. So read through and make a decision. No one here can make it for you and it’s been debated to death
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Were you using a magnifying glass to see each pixel on the monitor to find imperfections? I have the Alienware dwf ultrawide which has lower ppi and it's fine for productivity. LG 5k2k should be fine for that too!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I've had a 34" Alienware DWF, 27" 360hz Alienware DF, and now a 240hz 27" 4k, and I will never go back, the clairty etc at 166ppi is just gorgeous
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I had Alienware 34" OLED for 2 years. I bought Alienware 32" 4k oled. The picture quality alone on 4k and having the height of a proper 16:9 aspect ratio was a win for me. Pixel density on ultrawide was too noticeable at least for me depending on the game of course. Stalker 2 made me realize that. I sold my buddy the ultrawide. Haven't regretted my decision once. If you're hard pressed for screen real estate for multitasking you could always get another monitor down the road. IPS panels are pretty inexpensive now. See if you can buy them from best buy. Sign up to be a plus member it's like $50 for the year and you get a 60 day window to return products. That should be more than enough time to make a decision. I did this with multiple monitors headphones TVs. I'd buy 2 and return the one I didn't like as much. Best buy is goated for this sole reason
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →Man I too have an AW3423DWF and this does make me feel a lot better about not jumping on one (we have a really good pre-order discount price going on here in Australia FOMO was hitting me hard); my biggest concern was actually the 800R curve due to the fact that I do photo editing as well and am worried about possible small sweet spot due to said curve (for when I want to just kick back and watch videos etc)… It they made a 39” 3840x1600 version of the DWF I’d be so happy and jump on it day one.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I went from Samsung 49 inch ultrawide, to LG C3 42 to Alienware 34 inch to Alienware 32inch 4k and i finally think this is where i will stay.
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I just got the AW3423DWF for $492 total (There’s a BF sale which dropped the original price to $500 and I used my 10% healthcare worker discount which dropped the price another $50). I will also be getting 20% cashback for using PayPal’s pay-in-4, so that will be $90-$100 cashback.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I have the AW3423DWF. Now about 2.5 years no burn in. It's like first Gen qd OLED. UW. They are down to 500$ now. I paid 799. I would not worry about burn in. It's got 3 year warranty for that. You got to just let that go bro. Unless your doing excel 8 hours a day or watching CNN your going to be good. If you stick to movies or games your fine for years. Unless it's the same game with the same static image for 1000 hours. If you play games with HDR it's fucking amazing it's like when we went from VHS to dvd. Games look that much better
r/buildapc • View on Reddit →I think a 40” inch at the same resolution would be great. But you never know , i havent used gx9 i could be convinced, im currently on a AW3423DWF. Ive only tried qd-oled
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Been using this monitor for a couple years now, I don’t see individual pixels and sit fairly close. Ultrawide gaming is sweet, and I don’t see myself ever going back.
r/buildapcsales • View on Reddit →Went from a 16:9 oled to 21:9, immediately gave me the same feeling I got when i first experienced oled, even just playing old games feels like im playing them again for the first time, way more immersive! monitor: Alienware 34” DWF
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I have this monitor and it is so awesome
r/buildapcsales • View on Reddit →I started with the AW3423DWF now just upgraded to the LG 5k2k… I seem to be on the right path ??
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →The coil whine on my AW3423DWF drives me insane, was really hoping they would have it addressed in this newer model so I could convince myself to just buy it and be done but looks like I'm sticking with this one and it's coil whine for a while.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I believe so, I haven’t had a single complaint since installing it. I remember constantly looking for an upgrade when I had the 34” Alienware ultrawide. That went away with this LG monitor. I mean, triples would be the ultimate but I don’t have the space for that
r/simracing • View on Reddit →Just made the switch from the Alienware AW3423DWF to an LG C4 42 inch! Honestly I've found the switch so much better, before I was a bit worried about whether or not the size would be too big for me but it's been perfectly fine, arguably even better in my opinion. For reference, my desk is 24 inches deep but 74 inches wide, and I've read that's a bit on the smaller side for a TV this size but I tend to lean back in my chair so viewing angles never really feel out of my peripherals. The main reason why I made the switch was I tend to do a decent amount of console gaming as well (ps3, ps5 etc.) and having black bars on an ultrawide sucks on the sides, also I've found a lot of PC games that I play either dont have Ultrawide support or the ultrawide support just seems like an afterthought (for example, even the newest Silent Hill F just defaults to black bars in cutscenes which ruins immersion). Infact, just after one 20hr playthrough of MGS4 on ps3 on the monitor I could already see uneven wear on the screen from the black bars after playing which was concerning I also found 34 inch ultrawides tend to make games feel "squished" because it only has the equivalent height of a 27 inch monitor. I found the larger screen to feel way more immersive overall, not to mention just generally having more features since it's a TV. And if I really wanted to I could just put it in ultrawide mode myself anyways. Also I had a lot of weird color banding issues on the alienware, I had to go through weird hoops in windows to get it looking good (srgb-to-gamma commands etc.) and the C4 looked great out of the box with only a tweak to white balance (also it gets brighter in general outside of highlights) After using various screen sizes (27 inch, 34 ultra wide etc.) i think I've finally found the perfect display for my set up!
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →Have the 3423 version. Its excellent, the best ultrawide OLED rn imo beside the new lg 4k UW but that requires your setup to be pretty up there to drive it
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I sold my 34 inch alienware uw oled and got the 32inch 4k one. The panel seems crisper but I also don't have to look left and right as much and get more display right in front of me - I'm happy.
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I’ve actually found the 1800R curve on 34in UW qd oled to be great for coding. Curve is gentle enough that I personally prefer it to having a screen that wide completely flat even for non gaming. 800R curve on woleds is way too much for me for anything other than gaming tho.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Go with a 34" @ 3440x1440, it's a good balance of performance and pixel density. 4K looks crispy and clean, but it really takes a toll on performance, even a 4080. I have an Alienware AW3423DWF, it's been nice being able to max out games and get good performance. I had a 48" LG 4K OLED that I was using, although the size was great and the level of detail was awesome, the performance was annoying.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →OLED is a serious game changer. It even makes World of Warcraft, a 20+ year old game, look gorgeous. I wouldn't go back, and I've had zero burn-in on both my monitors with this panel (one MSI, one Alienware).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Hey folks. I've been using OLEDs for about 18 months now, first with the LG 27gr95qe which I wasn't very happy with, and then I went for the Alienware aw3423dwf which I've been using for about 9 months now. The Alienware is the best monitor I've ever used. Incredible image, stunning colours, really responsive. Man I just love it. Problem is I've been having horrible headaches ever since I got it, and I've never had them with any other screen I've used, OLED or otherwise. I'm guessing the glossy finish might be the culprit here. Reflections on the screen and so on. Is there any other 3440 x 1440 OLED monitor out there that's almost as good but with a matte finish? Finding it hard to find as everyone always recommends the glossy. I've gone back to the LG for now but 16:9 seems very restrictive now lol.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I just upgraded from 4090 to 5090 on a AW3423DWF, which is 3440x1440 165hz. If you do go with 1440 ultra-wide you should defs get something AT LEAST 240hz at that res, Im finding myself capping literally all my games at the max refresh rate 165hz (157hz capped ) I feel like im leaving alot of performance on the table. the 4090 before id argue was perfect at that res and hz If you want to make the jump 5k2k would be nice but imo get a 240hz 1440p ultrawide, youll get high frame rates and it still gets a nice image. (id recommend the 2025 240hz alienware monitor) Personally, waiting for a 38inch ultra wide with High refresh (doubts), or something else to catch my eye, 5k2k seems to high of a jump imo even with a 5090 and no higher refresh rate
