I have an ultrawide 34in Alienware oled. Only complaint is that it’s only 165hz. I think they just released a new version that’s 240h though. Some people say ultrawide is bad for fps games but I’ve never had an issue and had really good ranking in marvel rivals and a high kd in Warzone.
r/pcmasterrace • Best Gaming Monitor to Buy Right Now? ->I believe so, I haven’t had a single complaint since installing it. I remember constantly looking for an upgrade when I had the 34” Alienware ultrawide. That went away with this LG monitor. I mean, triples would be the ultimate but I don’t have the space for that
r/simracing • what ultrawide monitor do you use? ->I’ve shared my feedback on other posts but will reiterate here given there aren’t many reviews or real world experience users out there to share. For context, I’ve spent the last couple of years on OLED, first the Alienware 3423dw, then the MSI mpg321urx and a Samsung G80sd. I’ve also tried (and returned) the MSI and Samsung 49 inch super ultra wides. I “downgraded” to the g75f 40 and it’s been a pleasant surprise for me. I like it way more than I thought I would and giving up perfect blacks was a lot easier to do. Part of that may be because I don’t play a lot of really dark games, but I think part of it is this monitor has really good contrast. Colors seem great and calibrating with my Calbrite went well. My use case is 80% productivity and 20% gaming, maybe 90/10 or 100/0 on really busy weeks. I can’t understate how much easier it is on my eyes after a 10 or 12 hour day of spreadsheets and legal memos. Not having to set low brightness to avoid burn in helps with that I’m sure. Not having to hide taskbars, keep a bland black background are pluses for general usability/ enjoyment. The 5k2k and 40 inch form factor feels best for productivity, and while the Dell or LG IPS monitors have more productivity features, most of their convenience is covered by my work issued thunderbolt dock. Viewing angles aren’t nearly as good comparing to OLED but in practical use I’ve not had any issues. On occasion at the farthest edge of the screen I can see slight brightness / gamma shift. But otherwise, I sit in front of my monitor and haven’t found it problematic. Overall, seems to strike the right balance of productivity, gaming, and peace of mind for my admittedly very fringe use case/needs. At $676 all in with Samsung EPP through my work, I feel like I get good value out of it. Not worth it at retail or really anything above $850 in my opinion. I know the “OLED or die” crowd will pan it as poor value and for the gaming enthusiasts/ priority buyer, I’m sure it is bad value. But if you fall in a similar use case as me, I’d recommend giving it a shot if you get it on sale, you might be surprised. Worst thing that can happen is you don’t like it and return it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • G75f is a winner ->I used a 3440x1440 qd-oled monitor for years and it was a great experience, but when I upgraded my gpu to be able to push a 4k 240hz monitor I made the switch. It was an adjustment at first, but I can confidently say that I prefer the 32" 4k at this point. It actually takes up more of my field of vision and the added clarity is great
r/OLED_Gaming • Gaming on 34" 1440p ultrawide or 4k 32"? ->I don't know what OLED you had previously but I had the same issues on a first gen Alienware OLED and also ended up not keeping it. I now have the MSI 49" OLED and have no text issues. All of the 49" OLEDs are Samsung Gen2 with the subpixel updates so they should be similar. I have also worked on this monitor for about a year with no burn in issues. Not trying to change you mind but it may be worth looking at one.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch non-Oled? ->I started off with a VA panel (AOC CU34G2X) then upgraded to an OLED Alienware 34" - yes the OLED is better in many ways but the VA panel was great and I didn't really notice too much smearing. I used it both for work and gaming. I'm actually using both 34 inch monitors right now and both are fine for everyday tasks and I play games on the OLED. The OLED though - man, it's like playing a different game.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why are all of the 34” ultrawide monitors VA panels or OLED? ->I have the 3423dw and code on it more than I game on it. The subpixel layout was annoying for all of maybe a week and my brain got used to it and now I don’t really notice it. At the time I thought it was my astigmatism giving me free text aliasing but I’ve since gotten lasik as well and it looks fine. My one gripe is that it doesn’t have a KVM for switching between my Mac and PC. I’ll occasionally get lines from my IDE but doing the pixel cleaning takes em away. They are also on clearance too right now since they are the older model. My one gripe is that it has bubble wrap scuffing on it. Although I can’t see it during use

I have alienware 34 inch 2025 ultrawide, as good as ultra wide is I am waiting for 4k tandem oled 27 inch in trueblack glossy. The ultrawide qd oled panels are just too dim and not keen on semi gloss (night time non issue) I have 2 TVs at home I play on more 65 inch oled/mini led and prefer 4k. I was considering 5k2k 34 inch when released next year but matt screen and the colours are weaker then qd oled or tandem woled
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Torn between 34" ultrawide OLED or 32" 4K OLED for gaming ->Yeah, the [AW3423DWF](https://a.co/d/ivttxsk) probably the way to go. I don't see the justification of +$230 for the AW3423DW.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best curved ultrawide for gaming? ->I sold my 34 inch alienware uw oled and got the 32inch 4k one. The panel seems crisper but I also don't have to look left and right as much and get more display right in front of me - I'm happy.
r/OLED_Gaming • Trying to decide between 34" Ultrawide vs 32" 4K ->Have the 3423 version. Its excellent, the best ultrawide OLED rn imo beside the new lg 4k UW but that requires your setup to be pretty up there to drive it
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →Running the DWF i a couldnt be more satisfied, this what I was waiting for eversince the dark smearing lcd era…and now I have such clarity as long time ago!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Run your 34" in 5K2K with DSR like I do.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Nonsense. I'm very happy with my AW3423DW in HDR but apparently I'm one of those rare people who prefer to play without welding goggles.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →AW3423DW. I run it in 5K2K with DSR via the NVIDIA app and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's such a great monitor that I even got my wife one, too. Had a Neo G9 49" (32:9) before I got the Alienware. Unfortunately 32:9 is absolute dogwater in the genres I play most, so 21:9 is my personal sweet spot. Been going ultrawide for 5 years and there's no way I can ever go back to 16:9.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →OLED is a serious game changer. It even makes World of Warcraft, a 20+ year old game, look gorgeous. I wouldn't go back, and I've had zero burn-in on both my monitors with this panel (one MSI, one Alienware).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I returned my MSI VA panel after a week and got the AW3423DW. Holy cow, what a difference. Worth the extra $$ for sure.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Man I'm so glad I'm not sensitive to that. I've spent multiple thousands of hours reading on my AW3423DW.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Not sure on price… but Samsung generally has poor qc that can come back to bite you, and they’re extremely challenging to deal with from a support side. Proceed with caution. IMO, I’d buy the most recent Alienware 34” option instead. It’s still a Samsung-based panel, but you get Dell’s implementation and much easier to deal with support.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Fringing is such an overexageration online, I have the Alienware 3425DW QD OLED and it looks amazing I’d recommend for you the Alienware AW3423 it’s an earlier model with 165 hz refresh rate QD OLED with amazing colors and picture quality The upgrade from non oled to oled changes the game bro Right now it’s in sale in Amazon.
r/Monitors • View on Reddit →(Owned alot of monitors) I owned a 21:9 AW3423DW for 2 years and loved every second of it but always felt like I needed a little bit more My friend had the 32:9 57” G9 and that was not the greatest experience for games due to fisheye effect in some games (which is caused by games only having one focal camera and not two) also the crazy curvature, just was too big. But I still wanted more so I bit the bullet and got the smaller 32:9 49” OLED G93SD which I have absolutely loved for all types of gaming even competitive & perfect curvature, barely notice the fisheye effect and rarely need to turn your head, went back to a 16:9 OLED 480hz for a bit, also tested the 21:9 some more but ended up going back to the 32:9 G9 in the end - only thing that would make it better is a 4K upgrade. That 5K2K LG looks interesting but the curvature is too much for me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I have the Alienware and just went to an MSI Oled 4K, the color difference and clarity are night and day. The Oled beats it hands down in every way. I thought I might miss the extra FOV but it actually makes it easier to see because you’re not trying to focus on too much.
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →Probably bc it doesn’t make sense financially they always kinda reemed you with IPS UW with decent refresh rate. You can get a strong VA for $370 not on sale, OLED for $800 or less on sale. A good IPS would have to be no more than $600 and even then the Dell AW on sale would still give it a run for its money.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I’ve actually found the 1800R curve on 34in UW qd oled to be great for coding. Curve is gentle enough that I personally prefer it to having a screen that wide completely flat even for non gaming. 800R curve on woleds is way too much for me for anything other than gaming tho.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →I went from always having two 24" monitors to having one AW3423DW. Best thing I ever did.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Coming from a mini-LED monitor to an OLED, in itself I would say is an upgrade. That's my experience from mini-LED TV to OLED TV. For as monitor, I would think that same and moving up to a 39" is nice! I moved from a LCD 32" to an Alienware 34" OLED @ 165hz. I liked that upgraded, but missed that little extra height that I had from the 32". Last year, I upgraded from the Alienware to the LG 39" OLED (39GS95QE-B) model and loved it. I got the some extra height back that I was missing and now @ 240hz. Two days ago on Thursday, I seen the 45" LG OLED (45GS95QE-B), the 1449 @ 240hz version, on display at Best Buy and checked it out. I was interested in the size. The next day, I go get the 5k @ 165hz version. I was hesitant due to losing the 240hz at 1440p. I was aware of the dual mode, 1080p @ 330hz, but I've was not interested in having to swap to 1080p to get higher frame rates. That was a concern due to playing COD and Halo. Late Friday night, I was loving the visuals of the monitor. Started off playing games like Hitman, Black Myth, and Assassins Creed: Shadows. Already those looked amazing on my 39" version, but I felt the colors popped more on the 45". When I played COD 7 beta the first match I did at 5k @ 165hz, it felt okay, but I felt a downgrade. I didn't think I would feel that much of a difference in FPS when I went from the Alienware that was 165hz (but played at 144hz mostly because I wanted to keep the 10-bit HDR. It would drop to 8-bit if set to 165hz) to the LG 39" at 240hz. I felt a huge difference then. now, dropping back down to 165hz from 240hz, I feel a huge difference again. Using the the dual mode to switch to 1080p @ 330hz for the 1st time, I did not like it. The feel felt smoother and snapper though, but the image was a little too washed out looking for my taste. In that moment, I was considering on return the monitor and just setup my 39" back up and wait 'til LG can either do another model like this one but have it's dual mode do 3400 x 1440 @ 240hz instead or just have a 5k or 4k that does 240hz. The next day, which is today, I played a couple of more games to enjoy the 5k. I then switch to COD 6, and tried the dual mode again. I went into setting to make a couple of changes because it was last played on the 39". Once I got into a game, I was satisfied. The imaged looked way better. I don't know what happened, but it did not look bad as it did the previous day. I swap games and tried COD 7 beta and MW3, and it looked good on both. I haven't tried Halo yet though. So as of right now, I'm keeping the monitor and would say it is a good upgrade I did. Now, you can customize the resolution within the Nvidia Control Panel, but you can only do when dual mode is activated; the button is grayed out when dual mode is not activated. The only luck I had with customizing the resolution without doing more advanced tuning, it changing to 2560 x 1440 @ 240hz. But a couple of other somewhere on Reddit claimed to push up to 3400 x 1600 @ 330hz. Now in dual mode, I been using at the full screen. There's an option to have screen/image shrink to mirror as if you're on a 37" screen, 39", 34", 24", or 27". My in-game setting was set to preset at Balanced, DLSS on and set to ultra performance. FrameGen set to off. I have tried with DLAA instead of DLSS and the image quality slightly dropped. Constantly averaging over 280fps. On the nuketown map, hit over 300fps for a nice lengthy period. I'm running my system with a rtx 4090, 13900K, 64GB DDR5 6200mhz. On a game lie Hitman: World Assassin, everything on ultra and all RT settings on max, I struggled staying at 30fps with DLSS off. With all RT settings off, I was getting between 35 to 40fps depending on the amount of extra NPCs in an area. With everything on ultra and all RT settings on max and DLSS on, was easily between 60 - 72fps, but with all RT settings off, it would hit in the 80s. If you use FrameGen, it'll put you a little over 100fps.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I would not be as happy with my 4080 as I am now if I had a 4k monitor. The 4080 and 3440x1440 are a much better pairing. I would not go 4k without a 4090/5090 class gpu but I also like everything maxed out and dlss set to quality at 60fps minimum for the most part. Obviously exceptions depending on the game. Alienware 3440x1440 all the way.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →That's what I want for an eventual replacement for my AW3423DW. Hopefully it would have better looking text. Not that I need it for productivity but it would still help the few times I actually have a window open on screen
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →im using 21:9 slight curve since 2015 and never went back. currently aw3423w qd oled. just 165hz but its true 10bit at 100hz and thats all my 3090 stems anyways
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I made the switch from a AW 34uw to a 48in c4. Was the best decision.
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I used to have an Alienware ultrawide 1440p OLED, but I always felt something was missing, the image still looked blurry. That changed when I got a 4K OLED, 16:9. An ultrawide with a full 2160p vertical resolution would be incredibly demanding to run at high framerates, and there are *very* few of them on the market. That’s when I realized: 4K is the sweet spot. No more blurry image, it scales beautifully with DLSS (especially the new version), and the 4K OLED 240Hz panel looks stunning, with Frame Generation, I’m pulling high fps easily. My wife still uses the ultrawide, and recently we tested it during a Battlefield 6 session, trying to see if the wider FOV gave us any advantage in PvP. It didn’t. Playing on the sharper 4K 16:9 display was clearly better than the 1440p ultrawide.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →I had Alienware 34" OLED for 2 years. I bought Alienware 32" 4k oled. The picture quality alone on 4k and having the height of a proper 16:9 aspect ratio was a win for me. Pixel density on ultrawide was too noticeable at least for me depending on the game of course. Stalker 2 made me realize that. I sold my buddy the ultrawide. Haven't regretted my decision once. If you're hard pressed for screen real estate for multitasking you could always get another monitor down the road. IPS panels are pretty inexpensive now. See if you can buy them from best buy. Sign up to be a plus member it's like $50 for the year and you get a 60 day window to return products. That should be more than enough time to make a decision. I did this with multiple monitors headphones TVs. I'd buy 2 and return the one I didn't like as much. Best buy is goated for this sole reason
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →You get what you pay for. I wouldn’t bother with a budget monitor unless you don’t care. There’s going to be compromises guaranteed. I have a 34” Alienware OLED, and it was expensive. But there were zero compromises and everything is impressive, from the dark blacks, instant pixel refresh and transition, zero ghosting. Crazy colors and detail no matter the angle. Fast refresh rate and no latency. G-sync with no tearing. I’ve never seen PC gaming like this before.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Fr. Panel is my biggest issue atm with my aw3423dw. Idk how but I've had 3 panels now with burn in from one game. THE FINALS. And what's wierd is I've had other static stuff on screen more then that game and somehow not gotten burn in from all the other shit. But the UI from the final burns in in less then a month on a brand new panel. I've tested rtx hdr off. Low brightness, low contrast. Nothing seems to be working. The screen just hates that game. I saw Samsung unveiled a new UW panel a week or two ago. 360hz seems to be a gen 3 or even 4 panel. Definitely gonna upgrade to it if that's true
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →That's what I did. Love it so much on my AW3423DW in fact I cancelled my preorder for the LG. Matte coating, not the PPI I was hoping for, then throw in the vignette and then the price being almost 3x that of the AW3423DWF (on sale) - it's a hard sell for me. I doubt the LG will wow me more than seeing 5K2K on my old AW3423DW.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →You didn't ask me, but I had the same feeling. Considered switching from AW3423DW to AW3225QF but after I had them side by side I knew I can't ever go back to 16:9. 16:9 feels just cramped. 4k is crisp though, but then you can run a 34" in 5K2K with DSR with a NVIDIA GPU. The only monitor that intrigues me is the Samsung Neo G9 57", but then it's not OLED and I don't think I can ever go back to IPS or VA, either.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I currently have a LG 45gr95qe-b. Before this I was using Alienware 34" 1440p. I used to think 45" was too big for desktop but after using LG 45gr95qe-b. I realized 45 is infact the perfect spot for me. But 1440p resolution is too small. 800r also I thought it was too much curve but after using this one, It is infact the perfect curve. Unfortunately, you guys are not selling the new GX 5k2k in my country. So yeah, the sweetspot is infact, 45" 5k2k with 800r curve.

r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I kind of regret giving my original Alienware OLED to my wife when I grabbed the newer MSI 240Hz OLED. That hardware G-Sync module was underappreciated.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I have this, and while it's a VA panel, it's BARELY a VA panel. Really great implementation of the technology.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Most companies make only one unique model, unless there is a mid generation update or something. And yes, there are multiple models of the monitor I mentioned ?? but again they are just minor/cosmetic changes. Get whatever is cheapest/available. I had the Alienware ADW3423dwf and it was glorious. Too expensive for small gains over my Odyssey G9 so I didn’t keep it.
r/simracing • View on Reddit →First time I really noticed ppi was playing stalker 2 on my aw 34" OLED. I mean it looks good but I later bought aw 32" 4k monitor and wow what a game changer. 4k is immediately noticeable from first booting on the PC. I'm waiting on the 5k2k from best buy I feel like that's the endgame monitor for me. I loved ultrawide but missed the height of my 32". End of the day it's personal preference. I highly recommend becoming a best buy plus member is $50 a year and you get 60 days for returns. No questions asked. I take full advantage when I'm trying out new products.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I can’t speak for WOLED, but QD-OLED 4K at 32” is absolutely, significantly better for text clarity than 1440 ultrawide at 34”. I have the latter and my friend has the former, and while I love the ultrawide aspect ratio and it looks great for media and gaming (and it’s easier to run than 4K), text is merely fine whereas on my friend’s it’s nice and sharp (with I think 150% scaling).
r/OLED_Gaming • View on Reddit →I have an Alienware AW3423DWN at home and an MSI MPG341CQPX at work. Both have the same quantum dot oled panel and look gorgeous. Text is super clear and readable plus in HDR movies and games are incredible. The coding monitors are a DELL 16:10 and an ASUS 4:3.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I have both - Alienware 34 and LG 39 GS. For simracing LG with 800r curve is defintely the best. 39inch gives a bit wider fov too.
r/simracing • View on Reddit →I returned the 39" I'd stick with the new Alienware 34" unless you really prefer WOLED. Assuming you prefer 1440p of course.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Get the Alienware ultra wide oled. You will get better fps in demanding games. You will be able to use a wider field of view without fish eye. Split-screen will feel better. Only get the 32" 4k 16:9 if: You dual use it as a TV Play esports at huge framrates with very basic graphics. Like lots of small windows for desktop productivity. Either way, keep one of your 27" in portrait mode as a second monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →Yes, I have an AW 34" QD-OLED at home and the MSI 34" QD-OLED at work. Same panel inside both. I do both video editing and game development (coding). I used Cleartype and picked the best option and haven't had any issues with eye fatigue or reading text. I have a monitor arm for each so they're the perfect comfy distance from my face, and use dark themes and low lighting to keep the contrast in the room reasonable. I do have a side 4:3 monitor for additional code or reference web pages, especially for game dev where I may have 2-3 editor windows up in addition to the C++ code. Three years in, would not switch to anything else (I've tried a few times just out of curiosity). Maybe in 6-7 years when the next OLED tech comes out.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • View on Reddit →I have both (Samsung 32 4k oled and Alienware 34 oled). I bought the ultrawide 2nd hand for racing sim and also any games that I may struggle to run in 4k with my 7900 xtx. So far the ultrawide is pretty much exclusively used for driving. 4K at 32inch just looks better and feels more premium.
