I would strongly suggest not using your car seat on the airplane at that age. Just make sure they have their own seat and bring a blow up thing that goes between the edge of the seat/the back of the seat I front of you. It basically creates a bed for the kiddo. I also suggest the Minu. It’s gotten us through Europe. The Uppa Baby car seat also fits into it with adapter things you can buy separately.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • Best travel stroller for Europe ->I got the Uppababy Minu and it replaced my Fox- my then 3 year old had more head room and it's fantastic. I bought the snack tray and have then on all the time. One handed fold, never made a creak and fantastic canopy. I didn't like the Bugaboo having the mesh panel in the middle- waste of sun protection imo. I haven't done more than train and car, but I love it and wish the V2 was out when I got a big pram as I may have got that instead.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best Travel Pram ->We have the uppababy minu and infant car seat for it. He’s 2.5 now so we don’t use the car seat and honestly didn’t use that for long so idk if it was worth it, but the minu is great. Super light/small and zips easily into a backpack you can carry on your bag and gate check. This is how we travel. I have a Cruz v2 for everyday use and wouldn’t travel with it
r/NewParents • Is Uppababy stroller & car seat too much for airport? ->We have a Cruz and a minu and I wouldn’t use a minu for everyday use. It doesn’t roll through sand, dirt, non-smooth surfaces and isn’t sturdy enough to survive tons and tons of usage IMO. It also is pretty flimsy which might make it hard for a baby who isn’t a strong sitter to even sit in. It’s not as adjustable, though you can lean it back a bit, but it’s not going to be as supportive and an infant wouldn’t like being in it for long. We love it for travel but nothing else. The Cruz is a great everyday stroller and actually easier to push around as a small woman, because it steers so well. It does “off roading” so well that we’ve even taken it to the beach and it can roll through the sand ??
r/NewParents • UPPAbaby Cruz vs Minu which is better for us? ->We do the same! Big stroller for park and long walks, Minu is always in the car for quick trips to the store or coffee shop!
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->I don’t like my minu V2. I wish I had bought the bugaboo butterfly instead.
r/BabyBumps • Lightweight strollers useable from birth without a car seat? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

It’s tricky. The uppababy minu is a FANTASTIC travel stroller and we flew internationally with it - highly recommend. I got a past version on good buy gear. It’s just not ideal for tiny infants - it’s prob more of a 6 months +. We had the graco version of the vista (modes nest2grow) and it’s large so it’s cumbersome in the car and I wouldn’t fly with it. But it was very nice with the infant seat and holds tons of gear. Ultimately we use the minu a lot and a BOB jogging stroller a lot, the big graco hasn’t made as many trips due to size.
r/BabyBumps • Travel stroller system to rule them all? ->The uppababy minu is actually not exactly cabin compatible. Lots of airlines do not allowed them on board and need to get gate checked.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Joolz Aer2 or Uppababy Minu V3 as travel stroller (and in airplane)? ->The Uppababy Vista is great (smooth ride, great for in/out with the car seat early on, lots of storage space below, the snack tray) except it is HUGE, like takes up the entire trunk of your crossover SUV huge, and their parent organizer is terrible (velcro doesn't stay put and eventually damages the stitching on the leather grips). I keep it setup in the garage exclusively for walks around the neighborhood now. You can also almost use it as a jogger. I switched to the Uppababy Minu travel stroller in the car (bought for traveling along with the travel bag). The steering is not great but it's nice and compact and the sun shade is very large. I'll have to go back to the Vista when baby #2 arrives which will most likely mean also upgrading my car so we can all fit!! Plan all along was to give the Minu to my husband after baby #2 arrives so he can have his own stroller for the infant so that's why the double Ubbababy investment. Go to Nordstrom and look at all of them in person. Tell them what your priorities are (compact, full size, travel, multiples, etc.) and they will show you your best options and answer all of your questions. Also measure your trunk! ??
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->Uppababy Minu. Used it as an everyday and have travelled with it A LOT (to Italy, Florida, Dominican Republic etc) and still works well.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Recommendations: Everyday stroller that is also good for traveling [on] ->Yoyo is great for travel but I would never use it as my everyday. The open and close is a pain and the basket is tiny. We only use for flying. I love our Minu though which is also lightweight and compact but is way more sturdy, has a sizable basket and pushes so nicely.

r/moderatelygranolamoms • View on Reddit →I have the vista and the minu! I use the vista pretty much exclusively. It’s so solid, easy to maneuver, works perfectly, never has an issue. I imagine the Cruz is similar but a bit more lightweight. I’m 5’3” and don’t have any issue loading and unloading it from the car. The minu is basically a janky doll stroller in comparison lol. I can take the vista across gravel or grass with no issue. The minu is so uncomfortable for my kid and the steering is so stiff and the wheels are tiny. I never use it and wish I hadn’t ever bought it honestly!
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →Depends on your lifestyle I have both - Cruz and Minu Cruz is great and a must if you live in a big city. You can walk around, buy stuff and put it in its big basket. I live in a suburb now so I don't use it that often anymore Mini- good for flying and airports but other than that, I don't like it that much . It's also not a great travel stroller in my opinion, maybe if I had another one I could have had a different opinion But overall, if you live in a big city, like to walk around a lot, or if you are in a suburb and want to do super regular outings . And have a big car - get Cruz If you are not going to use it often or have limited space , get a travel one. Not minu though lol Also remember some kids don't want to use the strollers once they are walking which could be around 1 year or so
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →We’re going the Uppababy Minu because it fits in the overhead of a plane. Also works with my car seat
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →Good call on the Minu! We bought the Vista and it stays in our garage now for walks around the neighbourhood. Bought the Minu when LO was 7 months and it’s getting a lot of use out and about! Love that we have our trunk space back again ??
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →For the subway or bus you’ll want to go smaller than the Vista, like a minu, gb pockit, yoyozen etc. even on the buses with stroller parking, the area is sometimes a bit too tight for a vista. for general sidewalk use the vista is pretty good though, can feel a bit big in crowded areas but comes in handy on uneven sidewalk.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →We love our Minu v2 (v3 came out the week after we purchased ours). I love how light and compact it is. I take it on 3+ miles a lot and use the Bassinet attachment since our baby is 3mo. LOVE the one handed collapse. I kind of wish we got the v3 but overall I love it. Edited to add that this is our only stroller and the only one I intend on having. I’d rather have one that does most things really well than have multiple ones that do a single thing excellently.
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →I do exactly what you just described for my 6-month old, except we have a V2. Works great. OP, the Extend 2 Fit is really cost effective, if you look around you could catch a sale.
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →Big stroller nerd and travelling mom who’s been on over 30 flights with my now 3 year old. A cabin sized stroller will never be super sturdy. In order to make them fold that small, they need a few extra hinges. With that being said, there are a lot of very decent travel strollers out there. Ideally go to a store and test a few. What is important to you? For me, being able to roll the stroller straight out of the plane is handy, I also need it to lean back for naps on the go and fold it one handed. If you’re ok with checking the stroller at the gate, you can also look at a compact stroller. I have one of those too, my uppababy minu, which is by far the sturdiest of the compacts out there. There are a lot of good reviews on YouTube too, to give you an idea of what’s out there.
r/TravelHacks • View on Reddit →Same here! We got the Uppababy Ridge because we knew we’d be doing a lot of walks with the dog, who likes to play in the field. I ended up with a c section and couldn’t lift the Ridge into the car for a long time without pain so we got the Minu as well and I’m SO glad we did. It’s small and perfect for going into stores. It lives in my the car unless I’m driving somewhere for a walk.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →we have the uppababy minu and it is our everyday + travel stroller. happy with it. it’s been thru a lot in 2 years and still holding up. we do have another stroller for running (that can double as an off roading / all terrain stroller) but we only use it in very specific circumstances.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →Fellow Ottawa mom here - get the Uppababy. We used the bassinet daily for walks and as an extra bassinet for home and travel right up until LO was too big for it. Also, the wheels are super solid and make it a lot easier to navigate Ottawa snowbanks come winter. Not sure if you plan on having more than one kid, but we wanted something that would last for the next one (or two!) and grow with our family. It's true you can find lots used on marketplace, which further reinforced my decision to spring for the Uppababy, because even well used and years old, people are still selling them for $800!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →I know it's not on your list but I tried out a few travel strollers at Nordstrom (Libelle, Joolz Aer, Uppababy Minu, and one of the Nunas) and ended up going with the Uppababy Minu. It's supposed to fit in an overhead bin but can't confirm. Ergobaby Metro was on our list.
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →We use an Uppababy Minu V2 for our “light” stroller because it is significantly more capable than an umbrella in a pinch. The compromise is that it costs more and is a bit heavier. On the plus side, I have a good suspension and if I get stuck having to go through a grass field because a path is closed for maintenance I’m going to be a lot happier.
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →Uppababy Minu. Used it as an everyday and have travelled with it A LOT (to Italy, Florida, Dominican Republic etc) and still works well.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →mom of one with a second on the way -- If it markets itself as newborn ready, I think that recline should be fine. the "flat" idea is just so they dont slide around. don't get the metro+, unless they've made improvements I haven't seen to the canopy -- you'll want lots of shade for your newborn. i LOVE my original Minu (and would love the V2 even more), but the Joolz Aer is slightly more travel-friendly if that is important to you. It is small enough to bring into the airplane cabin if you're concerned about gate checking and is lighter/smaller. And you are smart to prioritize one-hand fold, that is crucial! And the reason I do NOT like the YoYo.
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →Second hand is the way to go. Also, you’re going to use the travel stroller 99% of the time if you live in a city. Full sized strollers are just too hard to navigate. I bought a UB Cruz and a Minu and the Minu is always our go-to.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →I use the Uppababy Minu but was thissss close to getting the Bugaboo. For us we just don't travel enough to justify the extra cost of the Bugaboo even though it can go in overhead storage. We got the travel bag gifted to us so our stroller is protected on planes (if any damage happens- uppababy pays for replacement/ repairs). We also like the travel bag is backpack style. From what you listed though I would definitely go Bugaboo. And make sure to go somewhere that you can test them out! Some fold in word ways you didn't expect lol
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →If you happen to have the uppababy bassinet I recommend the uppababy miniu travel stroller. It says the bassinet attachment does not work with it, but if you have the car seat adapters that's false. If you lean the seat all the way back you can definitely click in the bassinet just fine. This is what we did when traveling and bassinet also doubled as babies safe sleep space instead of having to worry about a pack n play (which she hated).
r/moderatelygranolamoms • View on Reddit →Like others say Vista is too big for public transit. It's also too big for boutique aisles and small cornerstores. I love the Minu, like others are saying. It's the only stroller you need. If you really are set on a large basket, get a mid-size stroller like the Cruz and when your child is potty trained get a gb-pockit air. It weighs 10 lbs and folds smaller than the Yoyo. You can easily carry it with one hand. That makes it easy to navigate the subway with a toddler. The basket is tiny but by that time you can fit what your child needs in a totebag.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →Another vote for uppababy vista with the full travel system, with the caveat that it is NOT ideal for travel. We bought the uppababy minu for travel because we can use the same car seat for both.
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →I’m 6’0” and my 6 month old daughter is 97th percentile for length. We have an Uppababy Minu V2 and an Uppababy Ridge, that combination has worked well as we travel with the Minu and take it into places without much space and go on longer walks or into inclement weather with the Ridge, which is a substantial jogging stroller.
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →We have one. Got it for our first who's almost 4 now and it's AWESOME. Now we have a newborn we got the piggyback board for the 4 year old to ride on and she loves it. For infant carseat, we have a maxi cost and got the converter clips on Amazon to attach to the minu. I love our setup.
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →Between the two. Pick the Yoyo. It's much lighter. The Swiv is heavy. Although I recommend the Minu instead. You can lift it without help. Even if you don't take the subway much, New York has a lot of stairs. You want to be able to lift your stroller and your baby. The Minu is 7 lbs lighter than the Swiv. That might not seem like much but for strollers that's a huge difference. Minu has a much bigger basket than the yoyo and other compact strollers like Aer and Butterfly and it still folds relatively small. It even folds when there is stuff in the basket. It feels sturdier and more balanced when you push it in comparison to other compact strollers. The basinett is sturdy too. You can clip in the Mesa carseat easily. Most importantly the Minu and Mesa are PFAS free. PFAS is a toxic chemical that is in a shocking amount of baby products.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →We have a Vista and Minu. No question, the Vista (and presumably Cruz) are smoother than the Minu since they’re advertised more as a daily stroller vs the Minu. We only use the Minu for travel because it can fold up as a carry on. The basket on the Minu is pretty small - that is something that makes it tricky for daily use. I’ll use the Vista at the store and not use a cart, but I can’t do that with the Minu. Minu is plenty smooth on sidewalks and brick roads.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →I would get the same one, that way the dimensions are the same, allowing them to be connected. If you're going to sell, may as well get a double travel stroller.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →I’m so excited for the minu v3! I used the minu v2 with an adaptor for my newborn so I could use the bassinet and car seat. So if for any reason you don’t like the v3’s newborn features, I would say get the adapters. The minu is so travel friendly I love it!
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →we used our car seat in the MINU stroller. it folded up and we got the travel bag but I think I had to take the wheels off to get it to fit in the overhead travel bag. I'm not sure if the newer versions have the same folding method. Our minu stroller is 3 years old and still used daily. For a baby that young, you'll need a stroller with a bassinet or a stroller that connects your car seat, and most travel strollers don't do that. If you're not bringing a car seat for your destination, I would just babywear for the airport and plane.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • View on Reddit →I have a travel stroller. Most people I know stopped using a full or mid-size stroller by the time their child reached 18 months. They bought a travel stroller. I did a ton of stroller research. I tried a lot of friends strollers. The Yoyo is tricky to close and has a small basket. I don’t like it. The aer also has a tiny basket. I had a Minu, not the strollers fault, someone crushed it by dropping their full size stroller on it at daycare. I replaced it with the Butterfly because my son is tall. I prefer the Minu. It folds even with stuff in the basket that's not the case with most travel strollers. Full and mid size strollers don't fit in boutique or cornerstone aisles. So you'll be leaving it outside. Also remember your 8 month old will be a 2 year old. Not all subway stations have elevators. You can't carry a mid-size stroller by yourself. You want something you can carry with one hand your child's hand in the other.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →I use the minu as my everyday stroller and I love it. I removed the toddler seat for the time being bc my LO is still so small. Car seat can clip right into it. We use the bassinet attachment for walks around the neighborhood
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →We love the Uppababy Minu for our 25 pounder! We ended up selling our Vista once we got the Minu just because it's so much easier to handle and carry
r/bigbabiesandkids • View on Reddit →I don’t like my minu V2. I wish I had bought the bugaboo butterfly instead.
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →We use the Uppababy Minu and love it. It had the easiest compact mechanism I found and it feels like it will fit my baby for a long time. It doesn't come with the snack tray but you can buy one separately!
r/toddlers • View on Reddit →We do the same! Big stroller for park and long walks, Minu is always in the car for quick trips to the store or coffee shop!
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →My husband read up on those and we didn't get one for a few reasons 1. we are tall and it is impractically short for us 2. There was some conflicting information on the safety of the seats. We ended up going with the Uppa baby - its expensive but it came with the car seat, a bassinet, and the standard stroller seat. If we eventually end up having another it can also convert to a double stroller and the resale value is decent if we end up selling it. To us it was worth it and now using it I really love it. It's one of those "if you have the funds do it, if not its not the end all be all". For us the biggest plus is its great for tall people (I'm 5'8 and my husband is 6'3)
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →Not many travel systems are sleek/have a one hand fold, I’d suggest buying infant seat and stroller separately. I’d look at uppababy minu maybe and see what seats are compatible.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →It's slightly annoying because you either have to wall a little off center or keep your arms a little more stretched. But I've only kicked it a couple times. Totally worth it to me to have the 4 year old moving quickly with us lol. The stow clip is too long which was more annoying, but we just tied some knots in it and it's fine now. Edit to add: The minu itself is also a really nice stroller. I'd say that now, after 4 years of heavy use and rough treatment, we're starting to see the brakes stick and feel some jiggle in the handles. It's got a super smooth ride though, nice handle cushion, and it's pretty well adjustable for naps on the go etc.
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →I have minu 2 and don't like it. The seat is super low , you can barely put anything in the basket . And there's no good support at the base either so it feels like the kid is sliding down on that thing esp when in a reclined position. Not sure if Minu 3 is better in this regard
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →Thoughts about the uppababy MINUs - Minu v1 I think this is the only version that has a collapsible bassinet option. I do not think you can buy this version from uppababy anymore or the bassinet accessory. I’ve seen these floating around Facebook marketplace sometimes. - Minu v2: uppababy just stopped making Minu v2s but all the accessories are still available at their website, and lots of Minu v2s are still in stock in most retailers and goodbuygear. I previously had a Minu v2 and I absolutely loved it. You can get car seat adapters so it can be compatible with uppababy’s car seat and bassinet attachment (which is safe sleep approved), and then at 3mo you can start using the regular seat. The only thing is you need to uninstall the fabric seat to use the bassinet with the adapters, but I didn’t need the fabric seat at the time anyways. -Minu v3: uppababy just released this version, it is about the size of the bugaboo butterfly now so it can go on the overhead compartment of the plane. It has sturdier wheels than the butterfly and is “newborn friendly.” Unfortunately uppababy decided not to make the traditional bassinet compatible with this stroller, but the seat almost lies flat so it’s “not necessary.” It does have car seat adapters though so that is helpful. None of the minus have reversible seats. But the Minu v2 has the bassinet that you can have facing toward you. Note on the YOYOs: I have less experience with the yo-yo, but i briefly used the newborn attachment and I really found it handy. It was nice to have a super compact stroller in tight spaces where I could potentially lay my little one for a nap in a friends house or restaurant. The yo-yo also has a bassinet shell that can be used, and car seat adapters for the nuna. However I think you have to use one adapter/set at a time (you can’t keep the newborn attachment on under and attach the car seat on top. ) The yo-yo2 and 3 frame is the same, but the yoyo3 fabric seat has a much better shade coverage. If you get the full stroller and a newborn pack separately, definitely get the yoyo3 and not a yoyo2. Alternatively you can get the yoyo2 and separately buy a yoyo3 color pack.
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →I wouldn’t disregard the Minu, it can’t totally function as a daily stroller!
