Redsbaby - SKIP³ Stroller

Went to the RedsBaby demo today in Parra and the Skip looks so good. Super compact when folded but very solid and functional upright. Give it another look for sure!

I'm happy with the skip 3 as my everyday pram (had same kinda requirements as you) be able to carry up and down apartment stairs while carrying my toddler, could use for travel aswell, something lightweight n easy to push due to medical condition, and big enough basket to get essentials at the supermarket and it ticks all the boxes

I ordered my skip3 on June 30th. Contacted them yesterday as I hadn’t received a type of shipping notification and they said because I ordered a drink holder that my shipment wasn’t being sent until the 24th July. So that the entire order could be sent altogether (makes sense). Without me even asking customer service responded saying they would split my order at no extra shipping cost and so now the skip3 and bumper bar will arrive 15th July and drink holder will be shipped 24th July.

I’ve been looking at these three as well, and am probably going to go with the Skip3 for its recline. They’re all great prams though!

Redsbaby by far. I had the Joolz Aer and I upgraded to the redsbaby. The recline, the upright seat, the basket, the sun cover. I find them all far better than the Joolz!

Butterfly or the Skip would both be good for this age. What pram do you currently have?

I have the nuvo and the skip 3. The skip 3 is a great travel pram but significantly lower and if you are anything north of 175 cm you will find yourself kicking the axle from time to time so you will have to walk in an uncomfortable way to make it work. Not all travel prams are like this - I tested the minu v3 and it didn’t have this issue. The nuvo is a great pram particularly for the bassinet stage and we enjoy how much storage it has underneath - plus very ergonomic and capable off the path. The skip 3 gets bogged down in gravel etc due to its small wheels

To me the skip3 fold was as easy as the joolz aer +. I bought the joolz when I did as i ended up needing one with only like a days notice for travel, but if I had no rush I would have chosen the skip3

Hey, glad to find you asked the question - we have been tossing up between butterfly and skip3 also. We have ordered the skip 3 after demo day but not 100% sure it will arrive before our trip - we are considering butterfly on lay-by as a backup. Worth skip 3 if you have time as can do 30 day indoor trial and return if you don't like it. The skip 3 edged on the butterfly bc 1. better sunshade protection (I think one of the Australian designed aspects that is important) 2. cheaper 3. lie flat seat 4. sub 7kg - can take on plane. We paid extra around $30 for bumper bar and $25 for express shipping (10$ more than standard) and got free rain cover and sunshade extension. Butterfly - slightly easier 1 handed fold down - but both equally easy to pull up. Also slightly better manoeuvrability and quality of fabric. We did note the one in store had quite pulled fabric as you mentioned but I assumed it had been used and tested A LOT. Butterfly also has a slightly wider seat (don't think necessarily than much longer although unable to do side by side comparison). Sadly the memo used to stock both pram brands but no longer do reds baby. I think reds baby keep their prices lower by not succumbing to price gouging by the likes of baby bunting etc just MHO. Have found deals to get Butterly at similar price to reds baby and if it wasn't for the weight butterfly might win. Had a quick look at other well rated ones - Joolz has a short seat and no foot rest and small basket and city jogger doesn't have as good suspension so probably fine in airport but not on bumpy European streets for example. Yoyo also quite a bumpy experience have heard.

I love our redsbaby skip3, and our friends love their skip2 - lightweight and one handed fold!

I’ve used it extensively throughout Europe with our (then) four month old. While it’s easy enough to take on the plane, I always choose to gate check it these days. Best of both worlds. You get it to the gate and from the gate at the other end but don’t have to worry about taking it on the plane.

Redsbaby Skip! The latest version is the skip3 and sooo many new features! I have a skip2 and love it

We got the skip 3 recently and am loving it so far. Had the yoyo 2 previously that I got second hand off fb marketplace and so many little things annoyed me so I wanted to replace it. Also liked the Joolz aer bt the price was a bit steep and skip was just a bit cheaper. Bugaboo looks good too (sister has it) but it didn’t have a bassinet option that I wanted in case for bubs coming in November.

I use the redsbaby skip3 as my everyday pram and it’s fantastic! So easy to manoeuvre, doesn’t take up the whole aisle in smaller shops, and is light enough to single handedly get in and out of the car. Highly recommend having a travel pram as your primary pram!

Started with a Cruz and just picked up the redsbaby skip 3 in a black Friday deal. One of home/long walks and one for the car/travel.

We have the Skip (and also Redsbaby Jive) and overall very happy with it. We've taken it on planes and it fits in the overhead compartment. It lives in my car and we use it most days. Only downside is the pram basket isn't huge, but we can still fit a small bag under there.

Yeh, I had to travel like 3 weeks before the skip3 came out so bought the Joolz Aer but if I was buying today I would likely get the skip3. Value seems a lot better than the other leading ones! OP didn’t mention the age of their child because this would influence me. Some older kids want to be pretty upright which the skip3 and Jools Aer are good for. Some may be happier being on a slight recline or are younger and need lots of recline which the skip2 has without the need to purchase the bassinet, unlike the joolz and the skip3.

Skip is great, especially with the near full recline. We started using with our bub at 4 months. It now lives in the car and is so useful for appointments/shopping etc. Very easy to use one handed, and depending on where you live, is great that it’s been designed with Australian climate in mind (UPF50 mesh that allows airflow etc)

Just keep in mind, Redsbaby skip has very long waiting time now. I ordered Redsbaby skip 3 on the 23rd of June and still hasn't arrived. I tried contacting them to get an ETA but no response and got an auto reply saying they are experiencing high volume of enquiries and will get back as soon as possible.

We’re planning on getting the skip3 (as our everyday stroller). It has a bassinet if you choose to purchase it, which is great for the bub before they’re able to sit up and etc.

I love my Skip. Switched to it when my main pram was too bulky, but my kid wouldn't walk reliably. He still fits in it at 5yo, and it's still getting plenty of use these days helping me bring loads of heavy stuff in from the car ??

Sounds like you're looking for a travel pram - if so then you should be thinking Bugaboo Butterfly, Uppababy Minu(V3 is a one handed fold), Skip 3 (v2 is not one handed fold, but v3 is). (Caveat: I haven't had any experience with the nuna travel or pixie). One level up from travel pram for Redsbaby is the Aeron (so, not as compact as the travel prams, but still quite compact compared to the prams out there). Difference is that the pram seat is reversible - but you probably dont need that since your child is a 11 month old. Bugaboo dragonfly is a one handed fold and even though reviews say it is "compact" - it is in no way as compact as the travel prams.

I was also debating between the aer+ (or aer+2) and skip3 but bought the skip3 on their 20% off sale to try and really like it! We took it to Dreamworld today for a real test with 3yo and it was great (currently due with second so no baby test yet). The basket is huge for a travel pram and handled multiple heavy bags easily, the shade canopy has great coverage & pram feels sturdy (for a travel pram) when pushing and with toddler climbing in & out by himself. The 1 hand fold is super easy, folded size/weight and harness all seem similar to aer+ I tried in store. But I really really like the recline mechanism! (Also that it is newborn safe like the coming aer+2). It has a mechanism you squeeze to lay flat, then just squeeze and pull the strap up to sit upright again. I found the aer+, where you have to unzip the seat all the way around the back, then pull on straps tucked into the back of pram to tighten/loosen, really awkward in store tests (though I’m sure you’d get used to it).

We got a single to double (Cybex gazelle) and like it as a single. Our second is due in November so yet to know what it’s like as a double. But honestly if I was to do it all over again, I would get a travel pram that comes with a bassinet option (Redsbaby Skip 3, Yoyo or Joolz Aer+) and then use that as the primary pram. It’s small compact, you won’t need to buy another thing if you travel and it’s so easy to put in and out of car etc. If you then become pregnant with a second and realise you’ll benefit from a double pram- then get the big double pram. The reality is you never know when you might fall pregnant with a second. And so you don’t know what the age gap might be. You might even be able to just use a single pram + toddler board if it’s a large enough age gap. For reference, we got the skip 3 and it’s great. We had the yoyo - don’t love it. The Joolz aer looks really good and I sort of wish I got that when i was picking between Joolz and yoyo. But skip 3 is new and more reasonable price than Joolz.

I did some mad research comparing skip3, butterfly, yoyo and lucci and ended up with a skip3 like 2 weeks ago! I'm overall happy with my skip3 and my 3 month old has already slept in it once or twice. I got a bumper bar with mine and I freeze everytime to remember I gotta use 2 hands to fold it then I can fold the actual thing after. The bar has some cheap plastic on the sides where you detach and fold but everything else is fine to me. I'm petite and found it heavy as hell carrying with the strap on the shoulder but with 2 hands it was fine but. Easy to push around while carrying the baby with the other arm I also got a wonderland4children pram liner and it fits perfectly well also :) basket on the skip is still small to me since I have an Uppababy v3 but it's been great for a quick short trip to the shops and easy to fold/carry into the car Butterfly 2 pram is actually out in the US atm and the seat can go flat but it's not released in Australia yet. I didn't get the butterfly cause I've seen the fabric pills Lucci was nice but wasn't on sale - recommended by the Baby Bunting staff Yoyo is no good cause it has 2 bars going through the basket so storage space is very limited - I checked it out at Baby Bunting

Get the Skip3. The basket is very small on the Skip2.

The new redsbaby skip 3 is amazing. I love it more than our Uppababy Vista. One handed fold, so easy to maneuver and a huge basket for a travel pram. Also fits in the overhead cabin in airplanes. Also can lie almost flat for sleeping and a footrest that folds out. Can't fault it!

I just came back from a week in Singapore with the skip 3. It fit easily in the overhead bins with Qantas on the 787. The A380 that Emirates use is a very large plane with large overhead bins so you can be confident that the skip 3 will fit. Ask me any questions you'd like about the pram. My only real issue with the pram is that you have to modify your posture / stance a bit with the pram to avoid striding into the rear axle. However I found this to be an issue with most of the travel prams I tested in store - so might just be a travel pram thing. Some travel prams cleverly offset the rear "axle" so that there is a bit more room for your feet to swing forward. The minu v3 does this well but it's a bit more expensive for sure. Overall I got used to the skip3 and really enjoyed the pram on our trip. I'm using it again soon for a couple more weeks overseas.

We bought the Redsbaby Skip 3 a couple of months ago - we used it for a month in New York and Hawaii with our 7 month old - I was super impressed and can see it getting a lot of use in our family. We bought it predominantly to use as a travel pram but came back and I went to use our Vista V3 and man, the Vista feels like a boat now! The Skip had everything we wanted, we could fit our nappy bag and carrier and some smaller items in the basket, it was a dream to fold and collapse one handed, light and manoeuvrable and well built, highly recommend!

(It ticks all your boxes).I haven't had it long but I'm using it as a everyday pram and haven't used for travel yet but I've used it alot already , previously I had the 1st model skip for my last trip. I'm happy with it for the price point it's amazing, I think it's the best travel pram for its price range. I couldnt consider the aer, yoyo, butterfly etc.. because out of my budget but i couldnt imagine spending more for them over the skip3 anyway. I always see yoyos out and about n im sussing them out but I don't get the hype but maybe I'm missing something!

Are you planning to put a newborn in there? (It’s unclear if you mean you want the stroller to last from birth to 2-3, or for a 2-3 year old). If so, I wouldn’t go the butterfly. If it’s the latter though, the butterfly would be good. If it’s the former, I’d get the Redsbaby Skip with the newborn attachment.

like: - son is comfy in it for long periods of time - good coverage on canopy - bump bar extra was a good buy, son always holds onto it - easy newborn compatibility for when i have a second - easy one hand fold - basket holds alot for travel pram standards (done my produce market shop and supermarket top up with it) - overall so many new features from the old model , its hard to wrong and they sorta just added all the features it needed dislike - no peekaboo window on canopy (the only feature I think they missed) - back of basket is quite floppy if stuff leaning onto it - I don't like the carry strap, it's kinda elastically so I find it harder to pick up and carry on my shoulder (compared with the 1st skip just had a normal tight strap) maybe a me problem? Overall minor issues, and weren't deal breakers other thoughts - worth noting with the belly bar attachment, it requires 2 hands to fold down before folding the whole pram, so it no longer a 1 handed fold logically. however I do manage to do it holding my son awkwardly n it is optional accessory.. - it does have a great recline I just can't say much because my son doesn't use that feature (doesn't sleep in prams) haha Will edit if I think of something else..

I second the Redsbaby skip. We are currently in the UK and we've dragged it everywhere, through mud and rain and all. It's been amazing.

Bugaboo Butterfly is another good choice - it's a 1 handed fold, can go as carry on (We've flown with it both overseas and domestic this year), can recline, good size basket you can fit a backpack in (the yoyo basket is tiny), good size canopy (good for naps). Has a footrest included (unlike the Aer). It's readily available to try at Baby Bunting. I would personally go the Butterfly or Skip over the Yoyo as the 1 handed fold is so handy.

I will say I feel like the Joolz was slimmer when folded but still would go for the redsbaby

I had the Joolz Aer and just upgraded to the redsbaby skip 3. So glad I did, the basket size is way better, my son sits so much more upright, The canopy protects him more and the recline is better than the Joolz. Highly recommend
