Nuna - TRVL Compact Stroller

Uppababy Vista with bassinet. Nuna Pipa Aire. $50 conversion piece to allow you to clip the Nuna seat into UB stroller. Best combo ever. Then if you have a second baby, you just need to grab an additional rumble seat for the UB once they’re older. If you need a travel stroller, LOVEEEE the Nuna TRVL.

Like someone else said, if you want something that lasts until toddler age, it will be a convertible seat not an infant seat. I’m not a fan of infant seats so we’re going straight to a convertible and getting a stroller with a bassinet mode. Nuna is great, just pricy. I am a big fan but do agree with the other commenter that I need two hands to collapse. The mockingbird is also pretty nice - plenty configurations and compatible with a lot of car seats. I can fold it with one hand and i think it pushes well. If you’re planning on having more kids it’s nice with the ability to add a second seat or have one bassinet and one toddler seat at once.

We had a Nuna that was good, but then I rented a Bob jogger on vacation and fell in love with it. I ended up buying a Thule Jogger which is going strong with kid number 2, but the Bob is a great choice too. Joggers are just better with different terrain, hop curbs easy, and are simple. The Nuna was great if you're on a smooth sidewalk or something and had too many plastic parts

I got the Burley Honey Bee for running! It’s been great, and we can attach it to the bike. It doesn’t have a hand break, but I haven’t needed one. Baby does have to meet size minimums to use it, but it by far gets more use than any other stroller I’ve had. For family outings I love my Nuna! I was cheap and started with a Baby Trend Travel System and the stroller broke before I had my second, the car seat started deteriorating with my first and broke with my second:/ whatever you do I wouldn’t cheap out, you’ll pay more in the long run.

I’m in the same boat!! I just went to look at some today. My brother is giving us their lightly used Graco car seat with a basic click in stroller for quick newborn outings, so I feel better splurging on a nicer stroller for long term as long as it will be versatile. We don’t have a garage or anywhere to store it in our house so I want something that folds very compact. I also want it to have parent facing and world facing options, which limits a lot of the smaller travel type strollers. I’m looking at the Nuna Triv, Nuna Swiv, and Joolz Hub 2 primarily. I was able to go look at the Nunas today along with the Maxi Cosi Tayla, Uppababy Cruz, and Cybex Balios/Melos. They had bugaboo there too but those are more than I’m wanting to spend and the Fox is bigger than I’m wanting anyway. The Nunas weight, folding mechanism, and folded size were FAR superior than any others and I am heavily leaning that direction. It was just so smooth and easy and compact on both of them. The Mixx was gigantic to me and the folded package was cumbersome to deal with. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anywhere with Joolz Hub2, but it looks very similar to the Triv and reviews say it’s more durable. The Swiv was ever so slightly bigger than the Triv but felt a little sturdier and less like a travel stroller, and I don’t feel like the extra 1-2 lbs was that big of a deal compared to the trade off you get for more storage basket space and what feels like more durability. However the Triv has more suspension and better wheels for all terrain, so I’m torn on that. The only hesitation I have with Nuna is the way the lady at the store talked about them. She said she herself would never buy one because they aren’t made as well as others of the same price point and the warranty is crap (2 years but limited to things that probably wouldn’t break anyway). She was really pushing the Cybex models but they just didn’t have the same smooth and compact fold and I didn’t like the buckles and seat material as much as the Nunas (the magnetic buckle was awesome). The Joolz Hub2 has a 10 year warranty and it has a toddler ride on board you can attach later on which makes it more versatile than the Nunas in my eyes. Not looking to get a double but having a little bit of flexibility with another kid when making such an expensive purchase feels nice. I just wish I could get my hands on it to compare! I’m almost leaning Joolz just due to the warranty and supposed durability. There’s just not as much info out there about them from people who have bought them. I went to Nordstrom, a local baby store, and Pottery Barn kids, which could be an option where you live! I’m also looking into the bassinet options with the Nuna and Joolz and that’s getting me stuck (nuna is expensive and Joolz doesn’t have a stand to use at home) so I might just opt out of using these strollers with a tiny newborn and just baby wear/use the car seat click on stroller when needed. I think past 4-6 months old these will have a lot of longevity so trying to think long term and not get a bunch of accessories I don’t need. Sorry for the info dump but tried to be detailed since you can’t see them in person!

are you going to be doing a lot of putting it in and out of cars? is it mainly going to be for walks at home? I’ve heard the best things about the donkey BUT it’s super bulky, granted I’m in the thought process of get a good standard stroller with a great push even if it’s heavy, and then get a travel stroller for quick small trips in the store and stuff (I’m anti doona though) the nuna travl ($600) is the nicest travel stroller I feel like after I tried them all at nordstrom - but for the price the Joie Nutmeg ($240) was super similar for half the price. if you want a tandem double more so than a side by side I’ve heard the best one is the cybex gazelle. if you haven’t already look up Rebekah the baby gear expert on tiktok, I feel like I trust her opinions more than anything lol

Uppababy Vista plus Nuna Pipa RX and TRVL. I definitely used the TRVL more for the first 4 months or so. It weighs nothing! I also had a C section and didn’t have any trouble lifting it. I use the Vista for neighborhood walks and longer outings. It’s getting much more use now that baby is sitting up and super alert.

This. We just traveled with the Nuna Pipa and it was easy to carry and check. I couldn’t imagine traveling with our rotating car seat. Nope. No thank you. I also hate the idea of waking my baby up when she’s napping just to get her in and out of the car. Taking the car seat and popping it in and out of the stroller (we have both the UB Cruz v2 and Nuna Trvl) has been great. We have a Chicco rotating car seat waiting for us to use in a month or 2.

Honestly, I had a friend sit me down because I had a similar wishlist and she told me sometimes it’s best to have 2 strollers - one for the quick trips (easy fold, pavement/sidewalks), and one for the longer trips (a little bigger, trails with grass/dirt/or minor roughness, etc.). I didn’t listen to her and went solely for the Nuna Trvl. I wish I did listen to her now that baby is here. I ended up buying myself (instead of putting it on my registry) the Uppababy Cruz V2. I love this stroller more than the Trvl. It handles more of my day-to-day bs and feels sturdier. It’s great in grass and for quick trips with the car seat attachment. If I was to do it differently, I’d either put both strollers on my registry or go with the Nuna Triv because it seems to be the middle between the two.

Thanks, I’m leaning towards Hub 2 or Aer+. With Hub 2 - does the clek liing car seat fit securely in the adapter/stroller? And is the handlebar wobbly at all? I can’t seem to find a place that I can see in person - sorry for all the questions! I tried the nuna strollers at nordstrom and the handlebars kept making clicky sounds and were wobbly.

I did nuna pipa with nuna TRVL bc I couldn’t justify the cost of a doona with those small weight limits and can use the TRVL for much longer. I also personally don’t like the idea of dirty wheels on my seats

There's only one downside of this stroller–it won't fit the overhead bins on a plane like YoYo or Bugaboo Butterfly. If it's not important for you, then it's a perfect travel stroller.

If you can wait until the Nordstrom anniversary sale starts in a few days, the Stokke Yoyo3 and Nuna TRVL will both be on sale. I would expect maybe the Aer+ will go on sale soon too but I was annoyed about the Aer2 not being out here yet so I got the Yoyo3 instead.

Update! For anyone interested, I decided to go with the Nuna Triv for these reasons: 1. lightweight and easy to deal with getting in and out of my car 2. compatibility with the pipa aire rx carseat which was my number one choice carseat (due to safety and weight) 3. push feel and easy of breaking down/setting up 4. there's also a bassinet attachment I can get (granted all of these are pricey so I'm looking for this on FB marketplace) Baby is due in November and I'll update on how we are faring soon after that!

I think if you don’t need it to fit in an overhead bin, the TRVL is really nice and the self-fold is cool. I was set on something fitting in the overhead because I’ve had a couple friends experience their gate-checked stroller being lost or damaged by the airline. I also wanted it to fit behind a seat in the car because we have limited cargo space on roadtrips. The Yoyo fold takes some getting used to, but I absolutely love how small and lightweight it is, and I used the heck of out the seat back pockets lol. It pushes really nice and is narrow so fits anywhere! It’s small yet sturdy enough to hang bags on the handle. The basket is small and awkward but holds a lot of weight (just not a large diaper bag). They made the seat sit more upright in the Yoyo3 (and in the TRVL) which won’t matter much for you now but might when you have a toddler who wants to sit up and look around! I think the Joolz is honestly a fabulous stroller, if it had been on sale I’d probably have bought it. I just couldn’t stand paying $500 for the older model. The fold and unfold is easy and flawless from what I can tell.

I had someone recommend 2 strollers and I thought they were out of their mind. I fought it and got the Nuna trvl and Pipa. I loved it. However, baby LOVED going on long walks. Not necessarily great in the Nuna combo, but now I know the new version (lx) flat. I still debate though because it’s not as smooth as a ride and truly designed for quick errands and airport travel (which it works great for). So at about 2 months I started looking for a bigger stroller because of the long walks. I went with the Cruz V2 and got the car seat attachment (through Nuna - NOT UB) for it. I thought, “wtf am I doing?! This is ridiculous!! I hate that I’m spending this money on this if we don’t use it that often.” This sucker is now my everyday. I really only use the Nuna when we travel for the weekends because we need more trunk space or airport travel. The UB is way sturdier, handles more of my day-to-day bs (I’m rough with stuff), steers nicely, isn’t too heavy (but does take up a considerable amount of space & some airlines do not allow you to gate check it), and the basket is FREAKING GREAT. I’ve really put it to the test with weight capacity. Moral of the story: my friend was right. If you can afford it, go for 2. One light for travel and one for everyday use. As for the car seat, having a true infant one has been great so I don’t wake up my LO when napping. For the most part, we don’t stop our days for napping. The LO is either strapped to us or in the car seat if we’re on the go. The infant seat allows our LO to continue sleeping without being disturbed. With that said, the LO is now getting heavier (7 months) and we just bought the chicco 360 zip. We’re excited to use it come August, maybe? I’m literally waiting until she reaches the height/weight limit of the Nuna Pipa before switching. That’s how much we like the convenience of the infant seat. Chicco usually has 20% off sales. I think they’re having one now for Father’s Day.

I’ve got a Nuna trvl and think it’s dreadful on nearly all counts but it does collapse with one hand and it does make putting it in a car easy. The only plus don’t buy it. I wish I’d got the yoyo zen I’ve been with friends that have it and it’s nippy, it collapses really small, can go onboard planes in the overhead a much better pram.

My issue with the triv is that it doesn’t lay flat, so it’s 6 months and up. Also doesn’t stand up on its own.

I LOVE my UB Cruz. I also have the Nuna Trvl, but honestly love the UB more because it handles more of my roughness very well. The Trvl is nice for quick trips or actually traveling. There is a Nuna Triv that’s half Mixx and half Trvl. It’s got the bigger wheels but a strap to swing over your shoulder. Might be better for the stairs.

Also in Colorado and going with the Thule urban glide as our neighborhood/off roading stroller! We also got the Nuna TRVL for plane travel / errands

I have the Uppa Baby and Nuna TRVL. Both are great for different reasons. Just remember - if a stroller is on the market, it has to do through in depth testing to get there. It wouldn’t be for sale if it wasn’t safe. Same with car seats, there really is no bad option. They all work. It’s what works best for you!

I have the uppababy Cruz. I love it. I have a lab and haven't had any issues walking her with it. fwiw, I use a waist belt leash. We do city walking, dirt path walking, and I easily run errands with it. I tried the Nuna strollers. Couldn't figure out how to fold them easily. Uppababy also has excellent customer service and warranties. I had to use a warranty on another product and they were quick about confirming coverage and sending a replacement (though it took longer to get here than I'd have liked). I would consider getting one secondhand. I found so many on FB marketplace for $200-300. UB often sells spare parts, so you can fix most issues (scuffed bars, wheels, etc.).

That depends. How heavy is your current stroller and how fast/easy does it fold up? I have the Nuna trvl and it came in clutch during my trip. I didn’t think I needed it either but our Nuna Mixx is heavy af and I’m so glad I got the trvl because it would’ve been annoying to carry another heavy thing around.

If you're contemplating used check out goodbuygear. I loved the Nuna and it was worlds above our cheaper travel stroller.

I debated all of these and ultimately decided on the Nuna Triv due to the safety of the carseats that were compatible and the weight being easier to load in and out of a car. I live a suburban lifestyle in and out of cars a lot so that was most important to me. As an NYC resident, you might not need it to be so light as you're not hauling it in and out of cars as much. My cousin lives in NYC and swears by her Uppababy Vista being great for the ease of the ride and navigating the streets there. (Cruz would probably fare similarly!) I know there's a Bambi Baby store in Jersey that carries all the luxury brand strollers where you can try things out!

Another vote for the Nuna TRVL stroller. It has amazing compatibility with the Pipa series car seats and creates a type of cocoon. Hands down one of my favourite things about baby gear.

Trvl is more of a travel stroller than a full stroller, but it has plenty of pros like its lightweight, one handed fold design, fairly compact. The only con i personally have with it is that the stroller seat cannot lay flat like a bassinet for a newborn for safe sleep. Therefore you would be stuck with the infant carseat which is not meant to be slept in beyond 2 hours. That was essentially the deal breaker for me since I wanted the lie flat feature for my newborn whenever we knew we were going to be out of the house for more than 2 hours.

Nuna trvl is so expensive but so worth it.

I have both the Doona and Nuna! They are both great w their own pros and cons. If I had to pick between the two, I could go for the Nuna. The Doona has a pretty short time span in which you can actually use it. By the time my daughter was 9 months old she outgrew it based on her height. It was so convenient as a new born but as she grew it did get really heavy. A lot of people I know love the Doona and it is great but not for everyone and not in every scenario. The Nuna , IMO, handles better & has more functions. And will be something that can grow with your baby. The materials feel so lux and it is pretty light weight as well as folds easily for travel. We use the Nuna TRVL as our main. If you check on Nordstrom they actually sell it in a package w an infant car seat— I got mine during their mid year sale and save a few hundred $$$

Also due in April and have had the luxury of pushing a lot of strollers as a nanny! We went with the vista v3 as our workhorse stroller (will use every day for dog walks and occasionally put it in the car for big stroller days, like going to the fair or something like that), the Nuna travel stroller as our car/travel stroller, and the Nuna pipa for our infant seat (attaches to the travel without an adapter). Were covered for walks from infant (with the bassinet or the car seat) through and don’t have to lug the vista in the car every time. It truly is so life dependent though. I’ll be a SAHM so most of my life is at home with our dog. If you go on tons of walks and need something more durable, a big stroller might be worth the investment. I will say I did nanny for a family and our daily stroller was the silver cross jet, which is fantastic, but the wheels wore down much quicker than a big stroller and baby had to be 6 months before we could use it. There are tons of second hand V2 on MP, but there’s also tons of travel strollers on there too!

I second this if the budget allows for it. Very well made and user friendly. Easy to fold and load up in the car. The pipa car seat is extremely lightweight which was a huge factor for us, you gotta lug it around a lot I use the Triv as my walking stroller too, we live in a flat paved neighborhood and it does great

To be frank I think your list is a bit hard to achieve with one stroller. I personally have a cybex gazelle which I love because it can turn into a double and the storage basket is huge. My travel stroller is ergobaby metro and I love it for travel bc it’s cabin approved and the full recline is useful for naps on the go. However if 1 handed fold is important to you, the Nuna TRVL can be a great option for you. If you buy the Nuna car seat it fits in the stroller, it’s a travel stroller (but not sure if cabin approved). I have not personally seen many travel systems sell for less than 800 besides I think graco, evenflo and chicco but I’m not familiar with any of these that would fit your description precisely. The Nuna unfortunately doesn’t have a large basket. Large baskets I’ve only seen on large strollers like my gazelle or UB vista (the Cruz has a decent basket too). If you want the Nuna system for roughly 800 you can probably get a used stroller from marketplace and wait for the PIPA to go on sale. We have a PIPA for our son and really like it. Nuna strollers don’t work with car seats besides Nuna unfortunately.

I got the Nina TRVL since we will travel a lot w/ bebe & the pipa rx aire. I have a midsize SUV & honestly I’m a lazy person and if anything feels slightly difficult I’ll imagine I’d be more frustrated opening & closing the stroller and car seat with a newborn in my arms.

NYC walk up resident here. If you plan on taking any public transit at all with the stroller you’ll need something light. I have the 2nd smallest nuna (Triv) and honestly still struggle with stairs when alone. If stairs and transit are not part of your day, or your city actually has transit that’s accessible, you’re fine going heavier. You may also consider 2 strollers. One full size and one travel. Consider second hand as well for whichever you’ll use less.

I use the Nuna trvl as my travel and every day stroller and I think it does very well . Easy to fold , not so heavy, easy to fit in the car ( won’t be accepted in the airplane) but so fas it hasn’t been a issue for us ( and we travel a lot ) we just give it at the gate . the wheels are not so big but the suspension is good . So for me it’s okay as everyday stroller . The chair doesn’t recline a lot but in the first months we used it with the car seat ( nuna pipa ) . The basket side is good . Enough for a diaper bag my bag or some other things. I would say the only thing I hate are the straps . I think I never learn to use them properly or maybe now that my son is 17 months the seem to be short for him . Before I purchased the nuna I ordered two more ; : the yoyo , the ergo metro. I wanted to love the yo-yo but seemed pretty small for a bigger todller The ergo metro seemed cheaper but I think it’s a good option

I also couldn’t justify paying for a Nuna travel system but we did like the Nuna Triv. I was looking into the Joie Kava since it seemed like a Triv dupe but they have a 7 lb difference in weight, which is important to us! So now I’m thinking of just investing in a car seat that just has an infant insert so we don’t have to buy twice? Not sure yet…

Seconding the Nuna triv for a lightweight stroller with parent facing option. The seat reclines all the way too. It's not as light as some true travel strollers but is the lightest one I found that parent faces. We recently took ours abroad and it worked well for traveling
