Mockingbird here as well. Kind of surprised to not see it mentioned as much here? It's reasonably priced and modular.

This will sound silly, but for me, color was the most important thing. Unless there’s no other option, I only buy pink things (pink furniture, clothes, toiletries, etc.). I picked out car seats and strollers that came in pink, and then narrowed it down from there based on features. Ended up with the Uppababy Mesa V2 car seat and the Mockingbird stroller!

We love the Mockingbird with the Chicco KeyFit 35 car seat. The Mockingbird looks and feels so much more expensive (although it isn’t that cheap). I did so much research and am so glad I went with it. I use it multiple times a day with the car seat attachment or bassinet. Love it!

We got a Mockingbird stroller second hand for $150 on FB marketplace which was an amazing deal. Has second seat capability, functionality, and even a ride on board attachment in case 3 are in your future. Can get a bassinet attachment too.

We have the mockingbird w/bassinet too and ended up putting it in storage for the chicco corso when it went on sale. Mockingbird is nice but super heavy! We’ll pull it back out when we have 2 but it felt really clunky for just one baby. The corso doesn’t have a bassinet but does come with an infant insert for the seat and reclines near-flat so it has a bassinet-ish feel.

When you say third floor, I'm assuming walk-up? Then as others have said, City Baby Jogger. Again, I agree. FB Marketplace used. They're all over there. I bought one from 2011 for $25, still works perfectly. You can take the whole seat off an wash it in the machine. That being said, we had a full stroller and my baby disliked the City Baby Jogger until over a year old in comparison. The basket is also really small, and you can't hang anything on the handles because of the design of it, it'll tip over. If it's not a walk-up and you walk a lot, I love our Mockingbird. Would be terrible to load into a cab or lug upstairs, though, but it's fantastic if you have an elevator and can do walks. I also think that strollers are one of the most stressful things, and I've never met anyone who didn't like the one they got. So, really, I'd say pick they style you want the most, identify 1-2 must have features, and just go for it.

It's harder to have a newborn safely in a lot of travel strollers. They also hold significantly less (almost nothing comparatively) in the under basket. That being said, we flew once with our Mockingbird and moved to a jogging stroller, as it's a lot to travel with a bigger stroller. As food for thought, though, in the future, you'll have to have a dolly or something to bring your big car seat if you go to travel. To us that was worth it. Also, there's a lot of jogger or travel strollers used on FB marketplace if you're in the US. It's nice to not have to get your new stroller beat up and just have a used one.

We took our Mockingbird (love our Mockingbird). Put it in a loose travel bag off Amazon it was fine. That being said, t's NOT doable alone while carrying baby. You're supposed to take the wheels off and other things. You'd have to collapse the bassinet. It's big and clunky and hard to do let alone on the jet bridge. I'd personally get a jogger stroller and a newborn insert. These would be checked at the jet bridge, one hand collapse. Make sure the newborn insert isn't too big, you'll likely have to carry it on with you. (As a note, most joggers can lay basically flat, the insert is for your peace of mind as you maneuver with a carry on through the airport.) You're likely also going to need: \- An under seat/under jogger stroller sized backpack \- Baby wearing option of your choice \- A rolling suitcase This is because you're going to have to have a lot of stuff, but also be able to get through the airport and on the plan with it. Those things will let you: \- Through the airport, push stroller and roll suitcase. \- To get on the plane, put baby in the baby carrier, put the backup in the stroller seat. Push the stroller down the jet bridge and roll the suitcase with the other hand. When you get to end, put the backpack on and collapse the stroller. This limits the weight you're carrying for as long as possible. ALSO, you're going to want to put the backpack on last, so you can take it off first once on the plane. \- Board early. While flight attendants aren't required to help you put your luggage up, I'd be SHOCKED if they didn't in this specific scenario (the help all the time just to be nice). Other tips: \- Change baby right before you board. (I literally just did it outside the gate. I do not care.) \- Have a little pack ready with the following: your changing mat, diapers, wipes, creams, and AN EXTRA OUTFIT. Put it in your under seat bag and make it easy to grab. \- Nurse or bottle feed right after you literally take off if possible. \- Do not be afraid to ask someone to hold baby if it comes to that. (You do not have to do this, but if there is a scenario where you need it, just ask.) \- People have only ever been SO nice to us when traveling with a baby.

There’s definitely an overwhelming amount of options… You can definitely do a combo one that’s the car seat and stroller like the Doona. I think this is best for people who live in big cities or travel a lot. I personally don’t think they’re worth it.. you gotta buy a new car seat and stroller when they get bigger. You could get a bigger, travel system which is a good deal. Something like an UPPABaby vista or a mockingbird for a more budget friendly option with a car seat adapter is very nice. These also usually have options for a bassinet or an infant insert so you don’t always have to use the car seat! They’re very nice strollers with lots of storage, high weight limits, lots of accessories and can really last you a long time. The downside is they are pricey and often very heavy/take up a lot of trunk space! Another option is a travel stroller. Many people use these for every day!! There’s many options these days.. some top ones are the Zoe line, Buggaboo Butterfly, UPPAbaby Minu.. there’s many more. These sometimes can be used with a car seat, are often under 20 pounds, fold compactly, are great for toddlers, great for travel, more budget friendly! Downsides are often not best for infants unless it’s one with a car seat adapter, have less storage and not as many bells and whistles. So.. I chose 2. I went with the Mockingbird which is so nice and we love it. It’s great for babies with all the attachments. Worked with our Chico Key fit car seat and is a nice push! Adjustable handle bar was nice since my husband is a lot taller than me. But it’s really heavy for my small frame and took up my whole SUV trunk. So I also got the Zoe Tour. It’s also amazing!! It’s 13 pounds, folds flat, takes up a fraction of my trunk, great for travel and my toddler loves the snack tray and being able to sit fully upright. I keep that one in the trunk and the Mockingbird in the garage for walks. Lastly, check out The Stroller Mom on Instagram or YouTube! She does full videos comparing strollers and doing in-depth reviews of the most popular brands! That’s how I picked my two!! Good luck!

FTM and we got the doona from our registry (recommended by my brother with 2 kids) and we love it. I just recently got the Mockingbird stroller (also recommended by my brother) + accessories from fb marketplace for $150 that looks new still. An actual steal, it’s the deal of the year for me. I love having both bc the doona is a car seat/stroller in one so it’s easy for errands and the mockingbird we use for our walks, theme parks, any longer days planned. The mocking bird can also convert into a double when we have a second. Would and have recommended both.

Have you checked the mockingbird single to double? I'm currently pregnant with my 2nd and age difference will be similar to yours. After doing some research I thought that one was the best choice for double seating for us. Can be pricey though. Another option could be a wagon, but they may not be as comfortable as you'd like for the 1 year old.

Oh that's a shame. We got ours already so we'll see how it feels for us once the baby is here. We do have a wagon already so that's good to know that it's a good option for replacement

We ended up going with the mockingbird, the suspension is pretty good and the wheels are pretty big but sometimes its a little hard to navigate bc of size but the storage is fabulous and you can get the bassinet attachment (we didn’t). It does work with quite a few car seats (I would check the list on their website to make sure it would work with what you need). When we travel (which we only did once) we had to gate check the stroller but it was nice to use in the airport. Plus I loved it bc I knew I would be able to use it into her older toddler years and then add in a second seat for a second kid (so I wouldn’t have to buy another stroller in a year or two). The hunt for the perfect stroller is hard tho, but I say keep looking and don’t settle!

we love our silver cross wave 3 - found it easier to use than duna and bugaboo and cybex. we had a showroom nearby us at nordstrom and at a boutique to try them. make sure you ask for twins not for a double. a double isn't the same seat size it's like a 70//30 or 60/40 seat size difference. good for families with children of different ages not us twin parents. we hated the mockingbird

It’s awful if you live anywhere with any uneven pavement or lack of curb cuts. There is so much flex to the frame even the weight of just one kid makes it unwieldy. 2 kids is impossible. Avoid Mockingbird at all costs.

See I have the opposite thought. I hate my mockingbird and wish I just got a single stroller with my first and then a side by side when we had our second. We got the bumbleride indie twin with my second and love it SO much that we never use our mockingbird double. About to have 3 under 3.5 this week and still don’t use the mockingbird, it’s awful as a double, imo!

I would skip the travel system. Buy a car seat and a stroller that you like. A lot of brands have adaptors to fit whatever car seat you want (I think Chicco is the exception here - they don’t have adaptors for their strollers). We got a Chicco bravo/keyfit travel system with my oldest. He HATED that seat and we switched him to a convertible seat by 5 months. We reused it for my second and she ALSO hated it. I got a nicer Graco seat for her and it changed everything. We also weren’t huge fans of the Chicco stroller but it folded easily and was one of the few at the time that had an adjustable handle height. We ditched that stroller for a nicer one (mockingbird) with #2 (I suggest starting with a single to double stroller if you want to have more kids in the future) and the nicer stroller had a universal car seat adaptor, but we only took her in the stroller in the car seat a few times. I primarily babywore whenever we went shopping and the stroller is just for walks. You can skip the bucket seat all together if you want and go straight to a rotating seat (we have the Chicco fit360 and love it), the bucket seat is just convenient for taking into the doctors office or wherever when they’re super fresh or getting them buckled in inside in the winter/summer.

We did a lot of travel baby’s first year. We have the Mockingbird and absolutely love it. I know a lot of people feel like the bassinet attachment is unnecessary, but we loved having it. It made us more comfortable to take long walks with her and not worrying about “container time”. Plus it folded down so easily to travel and we got away with using that for travel sleep instead of the pack and play for the first 6 months. Made travel a lot easier and even trips to friends houses easier so she always had somewhere to nap. And very excited to get more use out of it with our second. We do love hiking, but don’t use the stroller much for it as it felt more inconvenient and heavy than just baby wearing.

Honestly, i love my Mockingbird stroller. i think we paid $600 for the stroller with the bassinet attachment and an additional attachment for the car seat. Not the most expensive stroller by any means.. yet it kinda looks like a nunna/uppababy.

We went with a Chicco travel system the first time around and didn’t realize how bad it was until we upgraded. The kids also both hated the car seat. Couldn’t justify uppababy so we got a mockingbird and we love it. Plus both seats have the higher weight limit. We really enjoy the versatility and have used it in sooo many configurations.

just spent a month researching. my takeaway: Nuna - loved this one the most (mixx or trvl xl) but all of the carseats/accesories make it extra pricey. my fav uber premium option uppababy- i found these all to be kind of rigid and too large. didn't like the vibe but its obvs popular mockingbird - decided on this one and so far love the balance of quality and price point. truly feels strong but also premium, while not being huge, and almost all the features feel obvious instead of buried silver cross - if you really want to go with the most premium it is indeed very nice. graco Modes nest - solid budget option. felt a little on the light/fragile side for me but if lightweight with versatility is important, this one isn't bad at all bugaboo - maybe the one i tried was a janky floor model but i didn't think it was smooth at all. nuna/mock crushed it

I think i just prefer our Mockingbird to it. The Graco one feels cheap but it is great for traveling. Do wish it was slightly more compact but compared to the mockingbird it’s tiny. Also wish there was an option for kid/baby to full sit up straight. It does its job but long term wouldn’t be our primary.

Did you decide yet? I’m looking at it too. My last stroller which we sold was a mockingbird I had two under 2 so it worked out. Baby coming in January so nothing to worry about for first 6 months (I feel like I’ll love the lightness and ease). We pick up on hikes or a lot of walking on uneven trails in the summers. I was wondering if the tires have good suspension… I don’t want to get two diff strollers. Something real light with decent wheels..

IMO it’s not worth it. I hated leaving my baby in the car seat in general and I don’t like how low the baby is to the ground, plus I’m 5’9” and husband is 6’4”, so it never really looked like an option for me. We had the mockingbird with the bassinet attachment for when she was little and loved it, it was bulky but served us very well.

Wow! I'm impressed with all of the research. Since you mentioned the vista, I would actually suggest the mockingbird. We love the versatility of the seat arrangements as a double and both seats recline for naps while walking around the park or afterwards. Sounds like an awesome trip!!

Double for sure. We took our oldest to Disneyland at almost-3 and used our mockingbird and it worked great so I’m sure an uppababy would work. Only think we discovered was that we might prefer more basket storage at Disney so we’re talking about getting a cheap side by side the next time we go (with both kids). You definitely want one where both seats recline for naps

So, a couple things— First of all, a single stroller plus baby wearing may be easier sometimes. I’d recommend both the stroller and the baby wearing device be doable for either the newborn or the toddler because you might want the option to do either version. For a double, I’m going to offer a counterpoint. A lot of people are complaining about tandem but we use ours for something pretty specific which is neighborhood walks including walking to daycare. We are always on sidewalks and you have to pay attention to bumps or whatever but I think that’s true of a lot of options. My wife almost accidentally tipped our wagon yesterday going around a bend so other styles aren’t a guarantee of not-tippiness. Anyway, I think the advantage to tandem is that they convert between two and one seat, right? I haven’t seen a side by side model that does that. So we like our Mockingbird and the fact you can rearrange the seats however you want— we currently like doing tandem with the kids facing each other, toddler facing forward at the top so he can see baby and the view, and baby facing backwards in the lower position so she can see both mom and brother. Meanwhile it’s very fast to switch into a single stroller if we only have one kid or are wearing one kid. My main quibble is that it is a little bulky as a double stroller in terms of folding, we really have to take everything apart to fit it in the Prius trunk. The main thing that’s annoying is that we have to take off the plastic pieces converting it to a double, but we don’t have an obvious place to store them while keeping them attached to the stroller which would be my preference. It’s not an issue with our SUV trunk though.

The Doona seems so convenient but I don't like that if I have a larger baby they may grow out of it faster. I will probably still need to get another stroller on top of that later down the road when they want to be sitting up and looking out more. Definitely look for one that will grow with baby. I had the Mockingbird with my first and loved that I could buy the car seat attachment for my specific model but still had the seat saved for when he was about 9 months old and could sit up. Love Since cost may not be a deal breaker, I think some of the Nuna's allow you to put in the car seat and won't need a separate stroller.

Double stroller! Went with the mockingbird single to double. Initially did the snap in for the car seats and then later used the bucket seats. My twins are 2 now and our stroller still gets a ton of use because when I do errands with them they still aren’t old enough to not run off in a store and I can’t hold both their hands and do the shopping.

Absolutely obsessed with the mockingbird stroller. IMO, it’s just as nice as a nuna or uppababy…and half the price. It’s lightweight and folds easy. We got an adapter to attach our Chicco car seat to the stroller base. It’s been great. Seconding…do not trade in your SUV for a truck. You’ll want to extra SUV space later on…trust me. I wouldn’t put too much thought into a diaper bag. I got a backpack like diaper bag and it’s been great. You really don’t need anything special. Even a normal tote bag works just fine.

You will be using the stroller a lot longer than you’ll be using the infant seat. I would highly recommend you base your choice on the stroller, not the car seat. You don’t have to use the Aria, you can get an adapter and use a different seat. Also it’s not recommended that babies spend a lot of time in the car seat outside the car, so you may not really want them in the infant seat much once they’re big enough for the stroller seat. And a lot of parents quit using the infant seat even before it’s technically outgrown, just because it’s super heavy as your kid gets bigger and some babies start to hate the infant seat and do better in a convertible. Also also, almost all babies outgrow the height limit (and the 1” rule if it applies to the seat) before the weight, so getting a seat with a higher weight limit likely won’t help much. The Mockingbird is nowhere near the quality of the Uppababy, in my opinion. If you need good suspension I would definitely go with the better quality stroller.

I got the evenflo pivot and hated it! Adding babe and a diaper bag made the stroller hard to push and so squeaky. Within 2 weeks of him being home, we bought a mockingbird. I LOVE it! I got the single to double and the seat that comes with it reclines so much that he’s practically laying down flat so I don’t feel like I need a bassinet. It grows with your baby and has so many useful features like the ride along board and snack tray, all very similar to the uppababy at a more digestible pricepoint. You can also pair it with a ton of infant car seats, just make sure you get the right adapter! mocking bird has the adapters right on their website so they make it really easy.
