Yes! I have had the Joolz Aer for 21 months now. One of the reasons I got it was because of the smooth handling and wheels not getting stuck . My sister had a couple different strollers that I hated on city sidewalks cause they weren’t smooth and the wheels randomly stick. I have love the Joolz Aer.

The Joolz Aer has a bassinet attachment that still allows the stroller to fold up.

I only have the Joolz Aer and haven't wanted or needed anything else. It just comes down to personal preference. I don't think everyone needs two strollers in NYC. But I think there are some people whose needs or preferences require them to have two. I personally hated my sister's huge strollers, in the city and in the suburbs. I find the Joolz Aer the perfect size for city life and very robust.

Don't fall for the Uppababy hype. While it is a well built stroller,. it is overkill and after using other lightweight strollers feels way too heavy. They are also too big to travel with imo, even in cars unless you have a big SUV or Van. Great if all you are doing is walking flat ground to the park. One exception is possibly for the first couple months when your baby can't hold their head up yet, then it is nice to have a stroller with a bassinet or car-seat compatible options. Maybe see if you can borrow one for those couple months and then switch to something lighter after. Or just use a carrier for those months. (Although the Joolz does have a bassinet option also) If I was starting over I'd probably just go with one of the Joolz light weight stroller that also is easy to travel with. I've heard good things about the yoyo also. We took the Joolz Aer to Europe, fit in the overhead compartment and handled the cobble stone streets great.

I got the minu v3 and it seemed so flimsy for the price. Returned it and bought the bugaboo butterfly and I love it so much - one handed fold, super light weight. I’m 5’2 and husband is 6’2 and we both use it comfortably. I tested the AER plus and 2 and this seemed better.

Having just purchased a travel stroller, we looked at the stokke yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu v3, silvercross jet 5, and joolz aer -- all comply with most overhead cabin sizing. I would recommend also purchasing the stroller case/carrier so it looks more like a standard carry-on. Some airline staff might make you gate-check regardless of size once they see that it is a stroller. Having the cover/case will reduce that issue.

This is a bit late but I have the joolz aer2 and so far I love it. The zipping for reclining is a bit annoying as it requires you to use both hands when zipping it back up again and the storage basket underneath isn't very spacious but I still love it. It handles uneven rough terrain alright and most importantly is very comfy ( so much so that my toddler who hated his first stroller—mothercare journey edit—loves going on this one). The seats are padded well and the footrest is also padded so they are comfortable for the littles ones. Plus it's easy to fold and carry especially with the built in strap which let's you carry it over the shoulder. An incredibly useful feature when both hands are occupied. It also fully reclines and the sun shade has great coverage making it ideal for naps and walks in sunny conditions. My only real issue is with the foldable bumper. It tends to detach when opening it to strap in or take out the baby. Plus my toddler is able to push it and detach it too. This flimsiness can be annoying, especially because it costs quite a bit and has to be purchased seperately. But otherwise it's a great stroller and I love taking it out on walks. I haven't used the bugaboo but the upright on joolz is great and I think the wheels are a tad bigger too making them more suitable for rougher terrain. Personally I would recommend heading to a store and checking both out and seeing which one is better for you. For me comfort for my baby was supreme so I love that the joolz seat is padded well and comfy. The straps also have padding and mesh, making them breathable and comfy for the baby and toddler.

Ako kasi ive decided na something handy for travelling pero makakanap si lo pag napagod plus pwede pangharabas sa mall or yun kaya ko and hassle-free kahit kaming 2 lang. i bought joolz aer kasi pwede din ako sumakay haha tapos kaya operate ng 1 hand. Namili nalang ako ng mga sabit sabit for cup holder and sabit ng bag or sa ilalim. Very durable din ??nagamit na ng panganay ko (until 4yo) then ngayon sa nb ko naman kaya sulit ??

I’m so surprised at everyone mentioning the UPPABABY? That shit is heavy duty and IMO not what the OP is looking for at all. I’d highly recommend the joolzaer. Travel friendly, extremely lux European brand and allows bassinet attachment/ car seat so it’s perfect to use from birth. If you are in a typical urban/city living it will be perfect. If you are in rough terrain, might not be the most ideal but it’s under 7Kg, 8kg basket & fits everywhere and anywhere!!

I have a travel stroller. Most people I know stopped using a full or mid-size stroller by the time their child reached 18 months. They bought a travel stroller. I did a ton of stroller research. I tried a lot of friends strollers. The Yoyo is tricky to close and has a small basket. I don’t like it. The aer also has a tiny basket. I had a Minu, not the strollers fault, someone crushed it by dropping their full size stroller on it at daycare. I replaced it with the Butterfly because my son is tall. I prefer the Minu. It folds even with stuff in the basket that's not the case with most travel strollers. Full and mid size strollers don't fit in boutique or cornerstone aisles. So you'll be leaving it outside. Also remember your 8 month old will be a 2 year old. Not all subway stations have elevators. You can't carry a mid-size stroller by yourself. You want something you can carry with one hand your child's hand in the other.

I had it thrown in with my first Uppababy pram - i live metro melbourne and found the wheels to always tilt to one side ie super sensitive to uneven pavement. Ended up buying joolz aer and much sturdier! Heard great things about bugaboo butterfly too if want bigger basket space

Just received both the Minu v3 and Aer2 today to test side by side because I couldn’t make up my mind.  They are both really nice. The basket on the Minu is bigger and easier to access, though the Aer has a decent size basket too. It’s just a little harder to get things in and out of.  They both fold/unfold super easy. The Aer is a little smaller and lighter which I think would be better for an overhead bin, but both should fit and if you happen to need to gate check, using Uppababy’s travel bag means they will send you a new stroller if the airline breaks it which I think is huge.  The lighter frame of the Aer made it feel a little less stable and more tippy compared to the Minu. The Minu feels incredibly sturdy and grounded. Both feel lightweight and are very easy for me to lift at 24 weeks pregnant. Both of them have a really nice one-handed push, but the Aer felt like it could tip going around sharp corners, even with my 25 pound toddler in the seat.  The calf support of the Minu is sturdier, with a button to adjust the angle versus the Aer’s mechanism that just requires you to pull or push it. My 17 month old was able to push the calf support all the way down kicking his legs while sitting in the Aer seat, but it stayed locked into position on the Minu.  The recline on the Aer goes a little deeper and the seat sits up slightly straighter than the Minu, but the zipper and clasp mechanism is more trouble versus the Minu’s strap recline system. I pulled the strap a little tighter on the Minu which helped to get the seat into a slightly more upright position and my nosy toddler was happy with that.  Handle height on both was comfortable for me at 5’3” and my 6’4” husband.  I think the harness on the Minu is more convenient than the under-seat harness adjustment on the Aer.  In the end, decided to keep the Minu. I tested it out on grass while taking it to the car and it handled it really well! Not great on gravel, but I think it would handle cobblestones or rougher sidewalks okay.

I have it and I have another travel stroller. It’s mostly good with good wheels but I don’t think it lies down flat enough like the other I have ( silvercross jet ) also the basket is def big enough but I find the seat just to be too short and not long enough.

Love the Joolz Aer. I've put in hundreds of miles with it and it's still going strong. I keep waiting for the wheels to eventually wear down. I carry it up and down subway stairs, take it on the bus, etc. Someone had given us a much heavier duty Uppa Baby stroller that we used like three times then never again because we found the Joolz so much more manageable.

I have a Cybex Gazelle and absolutely love it. It has built in adapters so that you can add another seat when you have your second baby and the weight capacity is the same for the top or bottom seat. The suspension is great, the basket is large, easy to fold and store in the trunk of my SUV, has adapters for the Nuna Pipa car seat, also has a bassinet attachment. I have pushed it with my toddler and infant easily. When we don't feel like using the second rumble seat, my toddler just hops in the basket at the bottom and relaxes comfortably. The shopping basket is also handy. I got the Joolz Aer as a travel stroller and also love it.

We have the Aer and love it for travel! We’ve taken it onto the plate and put it in the overheads no problem. Our son is 19 months now and still uses it, but does like to walk occasionally, but his stamina is low so it still get use! You’ll probably time you end up using it more than your original one, especially in London as it’s so light and easy to handle.

Never been happy with Silvercross. We’ve had the Silvercross full bundle - car seat was rubbish and the pram was heavy and impractical. Rucksack and hand warmers were a nice touch. I would avoid any Silvercross products based on my experience. We’ve had the Bugaboo double (side by side, called donkey I think?!) - it’s good but a bit unwieldy, Doona one that converts to a car seat (useful but heavy and uncomfortable for child), Babyzen yo-yo (useful for travel but limited) and the Joolz aer which is great for travel (can get on a plane) and more versatile than the Babyzen so it can be used more like a normal pram - it’s been my favourite travel pram. On a side note, the Cybex car seats that rotate are amazing.

We use our Joolz aer2 as an everyday stroller! It’s the BEST. One handed fold, overhead bin compliant, lies flat, lightweight, tall handle, pushes great in our city’s bumpy sidewalks. Also can be purchased with a bassinet that folds with the stroller or a parent facing seat! (These weren’t available when we purchased it so i can’t speak to quality)

Another vote for the Joolz Aer. We started with the Uppababy Cruz with an Uppababy infant carseat for our 10 month old. I still like the Cruz with the regular stroller seat for days with heavy walking but the Aer is so much more compact/light yet still high quality. The one hand fold mechanism is great too.

I know it's not on your list but I tried out a few travel strollers at Nordstrom (Libelle, Joolz Aer, Uppababy Minu, and one of the Nunas) and ended up going with the Uppababy Minu. It's supposed to fit in an overhead bin but can't confirm. Ergobaby Metro was on our list.

We love our Cybex e gazelle but it’s v heavy, wouldn’t want to be taking it in and out of the car every day. It’s also huge so hard to fit in some small shops and cafes round here. Our friends have the bugaboo and really like it. We also have a joolz aer for quick appointments/holidays and it’s amazing, so light. If it wasn’t for the lack of storage space, we’d probably use this as our full time pram.

We use a travel stroller 100% of the time, two kids. I almost bought a Yoyo but stopped at Spouts on Union to test it and the Joolz Aer was far easier to close one handed than the Yoyo. So I recommend that. Its about 20 months old of daily use and wheels are fine. My first kid I had a heavy larger stroller and I’d hit corners and doors in stores all the door and one time the BART elevator was broken and then the escalator stairs broke half way up. Because it was mid day and lots of SF folks are peter panning themselves, no one helped me drag it upstairs. That sucked. That was the last time I used that stroller and transitioned 100% to travel stroller use. Also my first kid preferred to be baby carriered. My 2nd kid hated it after infancy - so each their own there.

For the update in the recline mechanism and the footrest although to be honest makes not much difference overall because it’s small, and way the straps are tightened and bigger basket, yes. It also handles much smoother than the aer+ because of the slightly bigger wheels. One thing to note though that the footrest mechanism on the aer+ is very annoying, it kept popping out and one time we lost the metal bit that keeps it connected and also didn’t always stay up so if footrest is important to you then aer2

General consensus is Joolz Aer usurped the yoyo for best lightweight travel stroller that fits in an airplane overhead. Swiv and triv are like light and easy to fold versions of the uppababy cruz. Triv/swiv allow the chair to face backwards towards a part which some people like during the transition out of the bassinet. Other parents don't care going straight to forward facing seats. The new joolz aer has a full recline which means you might be able skip buying a bassinet attachment if you feel comfortable strapping in the newborn. It seems like the hive mind 5 years ago was either yoyo or uppababy cruz. But these days it's definitely joolz aer, but a toss up between uppababy or nuna for the cruz/triv/swiv form factor. Cruz is harder to fold and bigger folded, but more durable. Triv/swiv is smaller folder, lighter, and has a one handed fold at the cost of durability. If you have an elevator building and storage space uppababy seems nice.... But if you need to carry a stroller up stairs in a walk up brownstone the lightweight nuna strollers might be a better option. I have both a swiv and aer+. I like having both for different types of outings. But probably should have gotten a used joolz aer to save money as a travel beater stroller.

We have the Joolz Aer - we’re on pram number four for our 2nd. It’s a great travel pushchair and better than the yoyo due to one handed close. We have the Joolz Geo 2 as our main big pram. Wouldn’t recommend. I like the lifetime warranty, and it’s sturdy. It’s just very bulky in the car boot and it’s heavy.

I saw them both in person today and the folded bugaboo looks clunky compared to the joolz which looks so nice and neat but I’m torn because: 1. Will I be annoyed about the recline having to unzip and re zip 2. Basket size - I could easily put in a whole nappy bag into the bugaboo but really struggled with the joolz 3. I really do like the lighter weight of the joolz tho, especially living in the city where there are so many bloody stairs! So will I be annoyed at the bugaboo because it’s heavier and less portable?!

We went with the Aer2 in the end! The lighter weight, and neater fold won out against the recline mechanism and whilst the bugaboo had the bigger basket the way its structured in front meant that the kids would always be resting their feet on what would be in the front of the basket and I remembered that really bugged me when we had the first bugaboo butterfly. And the basket access whilst not as open is ok because we don’t really carry much when we’re out and about and also because of needing to fold and unfold to navigate stairs we wouldn’t load it up much.

Hey, in same boat here and went to look at both and the you in shop. Yoyo 3 is an absolute no, the last on demo was struggling at certain times, is an easy one to rule out. Aer2 I found aesthetically just that bit better and feeling of being well built too and it glides a bit smoother when pushing it. I think the Aer2 is the winner been the two UNLESS.... you intend to use the stroller frequently and also have lots of storage in the basket. Based on advice from friends, they use their stroller 99% of the time after 7 8 months because it's just quick and easy when you're running around and not having to worry about space in the basket is just worthwhile, saves having to carry a backpack for example and other bits and bobs. If you think space in the basket isn't a deal breaker for what you're buying it for then I would say go for the Aer2, it seemed that bit better to me. I've ordered the butterfly 2, should be here next week, looking forward to it!!

Book a car service with a car seat to and from the airport (I've always used Arecibo). Travel strollers are great for the subway. I have a Yoyo, which also fits in airplane overhead bins. If you're going to be folding and unfolding a lot, the Joolz Aer has a one-hand fold (it might also fit in overhead, I'm not sure).
