We have the Nuna Rava and I love them. They are sturdy, easy to install, and they have a little pocket that each buckle tucks into on the sides so you are not constantly digging straps out from underneath your kids butt. We also have the Graco slim fit 3 in 1 and they are fine. They do their job but I much prefer the Nuna. They are also quite expensive but as I see it, cost per use makes it reasonable.

The convertible seats can fit a newborn, but the recline will be so large that the seat is no longer compact. Extend to fit is the most compact, but not at the most reclined position which is what you’d need. I’d actually look at a nuna rava, it only has one recline position which is more compact than the most reclined position you’d need on the extend to fit. Hopefully that makes sense!

I have a Nuna Rava forward facing behind the driver seat, and a Nuna Pipa rear facing behind the passenger. Both front seats need to move forward from where we'd normally have them to accommodate the car seats behind. I'm 6'2" and when I drive, I do need to move the seat forward a good amount from my normally position because my 4 year old would other wise have only a couple inches for her feet. There is not room to comfortably fit a third person in the middle seat of the second row I'd say. And no easy way to get to the third row with two car seats installed.

I have a 2024 rav4 and the Nuna Rava in the back passenger seat. It fits quite well. It It is a bit large, which is good so baby grows into it more. My boy was getting very tall at only 6 months we ended up pulling the trigger earlier for the Rava. We have been using it a month and a half already and it's been great, and easy to set up. 1 person easily fits in the backseat to accompany baby, but 2 "can" fit depending on the build but it's a tight fit. I wouldnt recommend more than 4 adluts traveling in it with baby. 3 gets by fine though.

Yep that's what happened with mine. He still hasn't met the weight limit for the infant seat but hasalready surpassed the height limit. Even when he was still a little under the height limit he was getting very uncomfortable staying in the infant seat. He used to love it but as he got taller he was no longer wanting to sit still in it and kept fussing whenever he would get put in the infant seat. Once we got the rava, that problem stopped. It just sucks that we have to take him in/out all the time now though lmao. Took a little while for him to get used to sitting up in a high chair too but we practiced over and over at home once he was 6 months. Now he can sit up (with support of his hands to balance him) for good quite a while before fussing and wanting up. They grow too fast ??

Second this, my 3yo is off the charts height wise and we’re about to turn around the rava in my car (he wears a back brace and it prevents him from crossing his legs like most kids). We have the foonf in my husbands and we can easily get another year of rear facing in it for him.

I have the Nuna rava, I bought it for my oldest and he used it after he outgrew his infant seat around 6/7 months until he was about 3.5 years old. He’s a 99%ile boy and by 3.5y, the 5 point harness was too snug in the crotch area, so we switched him to the Nuna Aace at that point. My baby is currently using the Rava and it seems comfortable for him at 9.5 months old.

I have the Nuna rava (primary family vehicle) and my husband has graco extend2fit in his truck. Both are fine seats! The biggest difference I see is in the installation. I can swap a Nuna from vehicles in 1-2 minutes, versus the install for others is more challenging (not technically, but more manual pulling to make sure it’s secure). I had no issues at all installing my uppababy mesa for my child in my vehicle at 8 months pregnant. That being said, my 99%ile height babies both grew out of the infant seat by 6-7 months… so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend investing in an expensive infant seat!

The seats they require are convertible-Nuna RAVA. The need for advance order doesn’t make it ideal, but I have had a great experience with the Uber car seat option in DC every time I used it. We actually got the same driver several times so I think the drivers are limited/selected so it’s reassuring it’s not any random person throwing a broken car seat in their trunk.

Nuna Rava. We also have the Graco Extend to Fit and Evenflo Revolve 360. Our kid hates the Nuna cup holder position, but complains the least about her butt hurting. It’s the most comfortable. Can’t complain about the cup holder on the other two. All came in with good ratings. We have multiple kids and have two Nuna Rava and the quality is the best of the bunch.

Agree nuna rava is super easy BUT It’s $$ and def not a grandma spare type car seat. Diono radian is front facing 5pt harness and I find it easy to install, have it in my husbands car and often have to take it out when we are driving other adults. Chico kid fit high back booster very easy to install. Just attach to latches and pull tight at the front. FWIW I bought a Graco transitions as an extra for grandparents and anytime they take it out and reinstall themselves it’s insanely loose and not right at all. It takes a lot of effort on my part to get it tight enough.

Some kids just hate car seats. I have a Nuna Pipa. We got it because we bought a Nuna Demi grow stroller. My first spent a good deal of time screaming in the Nuna for a like two month period and then Got over it. My second screams when he’s being put in and then stops but looks grumpy the rest of the time he’s in it. I would NOT buy a new seat thinking it will stop any baby from screaming. It probably won’t and this is probably just a blip and baby will settle out and stop getting upset at some point. And then they’ll become a toddler and you’ll feel like you’re wrestling an alligator into their car seat an again their willingness to get in Will have zero to do with comfort. What I would focus on is ease of use for you and what fits/installs best in your car. When my first outgrew the infant seat we got an Extend2Fit and I hated it. It was highly recommended for tall kids and for our vehicle specs, but I found it tricky to tighten and found the straps twisted all the time. We ended up needing to replace it after an accident. When we shopped for a new one I found the Nuna Rava was also annoying to tighten the straps and we settled on a Clek (I’ve really loved it).

It was nice for appointments when my baby was a newborn but she started hating it around two months old. She cried and screamed every car ride but was fine when it was in stroller mode. She’s now a happy camper in the car after getting a new car seat (Nuna Rava). I wish I switched seats earlier.

Love the Nuna Rava! Pricey, but there are Black Friday and Nordstrom promos. It’s so easy to adjust. I routinely flip it between front and rear facing for my younger two. I don’t love the Clek Fllo. Difficult to get a good install, heavy, and expensive. And the fabric has completely worn away on within one kid using it.

Nuna Rava hands down. It’s like a throne for the baby. My toddler loves her car seat. She naps in it without any issues. She has been in it rear facing since she outgrew her infant car seat due to her height. We love that it can be tilted to be straight or Moved to help the baby sleep. It’s also super easy to install. We have sat with 2 ppl in the backseat with the car seat comfortably.

We had the Mesa and my son hated it. We transitioned him to the Nuna rava at like 3 months (it has nb inserts). I’m pregnant with #2 right now and tbh I’m skipping the infant seat and going straight to the rava. I wore #1 in a wrap or carrier anytime I was out anyway until he was big enough to sit in a cart seat at the grocery store and everywhere else he was in the bassinet attachment until big enough for a typical stroller seat around 4 or 5 months. It’s not great for spinal development to keep babe in that position of a car seat longer than absolutely necessary

We have always brought our car seat everywhere. We have a Nuna Rava. So a big, heavy seat. We have a trolley for it to move it around easily. We always have just tucked it into the closet. We did upgrade a year ago to a WayB Pico for travel and it is INCREDIBLE. So easy to use! And very light and easy to carry around everywhere. And the best seat ever for on the plane. Remember that the FAA recommends a car seat on airplanes until your child weighs at least 40#.

The Nina Rava can be used on flights I believe but that’s if you want to buy your baby their own seat. I’ve flown alone with my 1 year old and kept her in my lap. When flying w my husband, we’ve bought the row (car seat on flight) but she never wanted to the in the car seat so it was just nice to have the extra space. Otherwise, aisle is dangerous if you have a mobile baby. People walking around, drink and foot carts rolling around. When flying alone, I took the window. When flying with my husband, window and middle seat. Regardless of whether your baby has their own seat, at least on delta, baby had to have their own ticket (infant in arms). Tips - I ordered snack trays off amazon and filled with different fresh foods. Cut apples, sweet potato, etc - just pack favorites. I also had a box of teether crackers bc my baby still likes those. I’d bring favorite toys. I also bought 2 new toys which helped keep her interested longer. Naps - I still use a carrier. I’ll bounce her in the carrier on flight until she falls asleep. Hit or miss. Sometimes she’ll nap her 1 hr or they’ll start serving drinks and the sound of ice cubes will wake her. Be flexible and go with the flow!

Uppababy Mesa V3 car seat fits. We just graduated to the Nuna Rava. It fits too. When going into the seat, watch baby’s head with the Nuna rava. I have it backward facing and reclined to position 1 and still have to be careful. But once little one is seated, clearance is good.

I don’t think the rotating ones are a must have. I have a Nuna Rava and my LO is 27m and still rear facing. It’s not that big of a hassle getting him in the car seat really. I love his car seat though!! We had a nuna pipa for his infant seat and decided to stick with the brand for a seat he will be using for awhile (the rava isn’t one that turns into a booster but that’s ok) only downside to Nuna is it’s expensive. My mom has the graco slim fit that is convertible for rear/forward facing, and can turn into a booster seat. I know it wasn’t too terribly expensive either and it seems to work well.

Nuna Rava is great, do watch the height limits as well. My son will probably outgrow it by height or his head will be within 1” of the top of the shell long before he weighs 50 pounds. Super easy install but I think the price has gone up quite a bit.

We ended up going with the Cybex Callisto G 360 cause it’s an all in one and goes up to 120 pound booster seat, expensive but worth the cost for something that’s going to last until he no longer needs it. For reference my son is 6 months and 22 pounds! My daughter has the Nuna Rava, but with how heavy my son is we wanted a 360 car seat so we aren’t breaking our backs getting him in and out of the car.

My baby also hated her infant car seat (a Clek Liing) so I splurged and got a Nuna Rava when she was 6 months old. It’s decent but I do somewhat regret buying it because it was SO expensive. When we bought a second convertible seat for my husband’s car, we bought a Graco Extend2fit for half the price at Costco. I believe I paid $300 and last time I was there they were still in stock at the St. James location. She is just as comfortable in the Graco and it was actually easier to install. It even has a higher rear facing weight limit than the Nuna. They feel similar in quality so in hindsight I wish I had just gone with Graco for both and saved some money.

If you seat was part of the recall you can ask for a free cleaning kit to ensure everything is working properly. The new seats are sold with a flap over the button that loosens the straps to avoid faulty straps. A lot of people do not like the new flap as it’s hard to get into but I found it loosens up a bit overtime and has been easier to access. I don’t think it would be ideal for grandparents or someone with weaker fingers.

We also have the rava and in comparison with the Graco in my MILs car, the straps are significantly better about twisting because of all the padding covers. I also love how easy the strap tightening/loosening is compared to other car seats. And it’s a breeze to install. My oldest also complains the Graco is uncomfortable compared to his rava. My con is how tiny the cup holders are.

We loooove our Rava, but are so glad we didn’t spend $400 (at the time) on an infant seat since our baby outgrew it at 6 months, so that is something to consider! The Joie Rue is also super light weight but so much more cost effective for something you will only use for about a year if you’re lucky.

It’s okay. It’s great when your baby is a baby. But after 18 months it’s gets to be inconvenient as you can no longer use it for a car seat or will soon have to change. Also, while it has high safety ratings in the event of a crash, it has **significantly** higher g-force rating (how much gravitational forces will your baby experience in the event of a crash? Lower is better). Meaning impact-wise, the car seat is good, but your baby will experience the forces….a lot. Also, its Head Impact/Injury Collision score was higher than others meaning a baby is **more likely** to suffer from head injuries in the event of a crash. Again, lower score is better. I went a different route and got the Nuna Rava for car seats (one of the lowest scores for both gforce and HIC recorded; they also follow European standards vs US ones as the euro standard is much more stringent).

We have 2 Nuna Ravas and a Graco grow something or other. The Graco is fine in every way, though ease and functionality doesn’t compare to the Nuna. If I didn’t have the Nuna, I wouldn’t notice, but you can definitely tell when comparing side by side. They are both good seats, but the Nuna is definitely higher end. Comfier seat, easier to install. Two cons with the Nuna - I have a hard time getting the seat flat enough in my car for more of a recline and even with the leg rest kicked out, it’s a shorter seat length. We got in a bad car accident a while back and my baby was in a Nuna Rava at the time of the accident. We didn’t know that you needed to reinstall the seat every time you change the recline position, so it was unfortunately loose. Even with that, she walked away with a teeny scratch from the seatbelt and nothing else. I immediately went home and ordered two more so we’d have one for each of our cars.

We have 4, 2 and 11 weeks. Configured we have 2 nuna ravas and a nuna pipa behind passenger, all rear facing. It’s tight for sure but works. Not sure if you already have it but ours has a built in booster in the middle seat so the plan was to move my oldest to the middle booster and have ravas on either side next year. He’s currently in the middle already since he can buckle/unbuckle himself in so he has to crawl over a seat. I kinda wish we had a bit more space. The stroller is living in the trunk since I have to walk all 3 kids a ways away from TK drop off and that plus soccer gear it’s a struggle to really fit anything else in. But I love my xc90 too much and think minivans are too uncool ??
