Look for ones that advertise 3 across. We have the clek, diono and graco slim. They are all about the same. The infant egg ones (clek) that clip into the base take up the most lateral room ime. Both the clek and diono take up a lot of foward space when rear facing. In our tucson the front seats need to move forward quite a bit to accommodate. In our model 3 that is less of an issue despite looking smaller. The graco takes up much less foward space.
r/daddit • Which car to fit 3 kids in the back row? ->We put a Grayco 3 in 1 in the third row forward facing and use the seatbelt. We fold down the other two 3rd row seats and that’s where our dog sits in his car kennel when we go on trips. We have a rear facing infant and rear facing toddler in the middle captains seats. The 3rd row kid buckles herself and I just reach back to tighten. Works for us.
r/SubaruAscent • Successful placement of car seats in third row...can it be done? ->I have the graco 3-1-was the lowest cost from a brand I trusted, and all the way down to infant sizes when we needed a car seat for our second vehicle and didn't have time to wait for a second base to arrive from Amazon. The rotating is definitely nice I'm sure, but I would view it as more of an accessibility feature. Definitely not a requirement at all for the average person. Could likely make a massive difference for individuals with mobility disabilities. On my end I don't think it would change much. Exit to add: Make sure if you get a rotating seat is locked into place when driving even if your child is not in it! Huge safety thing!
r/beyondthebump • Let's talk car seats... ->Came to recommend this one! We are happy with it and it’s sooo much lighter and more compact than the Rava!
r/Buyingforbaby • convertible car seat for travel ->Hey, we always travel with a car seat (on the plane, in the seat) for our kid and will until he's 40 lbs. We've flown with 4 different seats: - His infant bucket seat - The Cosco Scenera Next toddler seat - Graco Slim Fit 3-in-1 - WAYB Pico We specifically haven't flown with our normal car seat (a Britax One4Life) because it's just way too heavy and bulky to bring on the plane. I can go over the process and the pros and cons of all these seats. *Process*: 1. Just carry your seat with you through TSA and to the gate. The seat may be too big to fit through the scanner. If so, they'll just have you set it in a specific location next to the scanner and they'll swab it (same process as for strollers). 2. For boarding, listen for family boarding to be called. Most airlines have it somewhere in the middle of the process. When in doubt, just ask a gate agent. 3. They may try to have you put a pink gate check tag on your seat. If that happens make sure you tell them you're planning on using the seat on the plane. 4. Walking down the aisle with seat sucks. I like to hold it above my head because I'm short. ?? 5. When at the seat dump the car seat in the window seat (most airlines require the seat to be in the window). Dump the kid in the seat next to it and store all carry on baggage. It's going to take you a minute to install this thing, so get everything else out of the aisle and out of the way. 6. Installing varies by seat. You'll use the forward facing belt bath for a non-infant seat, so I would familiarize yourself with that install at home. The one important thing to remember is that there's a big ass buckle that makes it unwieldy. I've never had issues installing a seat but sometimes the buckle ends up in an uncomfortable place. I try to crank the belt tight and bring a light blanket or my jacket to stick some padding over it. Kid has never complained. *Now, to the seats:* Skipping the bucket since you don't have an infant. *Cosco Scenera* (if your Graco is too big and your kid's shoulder height is low enough, i highly recommend this as a cheap travel seat): - *Weight*: super light (7 lbs if you don't use the latch straps I think?). Very easy to carry around the airport. I can push a stroller and hold this with one hand. - *Install*: Easy install in plane, harder to get a good install in the car, but that's partially because we disconnected the latch straps and chose a seatbelt install to avoid the extra weight. - *Fit/Comfort*: Annoyingly, the straps are low so kids tend to outgrow this seat well before they've hit the height limit. Mine outgrew it at about 2.5 and he is only 55 percentile for height. Buckle on plane is definitely noticeable. - *Cost*: cheapest seat I've ever bought *Graco Slim Fit* (borrowed this one): - *Weight*: Heaviest seat we've traveled with. It's doable, but best to have a stroller or wheelie suitcase to push it through the airport on, or a bag with back straps. I wouldn't go heavier than this, it's a pain. - *Install*: Same on plane as Cosco, easier in car (we did latch for this one). - *Fit/Comfort*: Comfier than the Cosco, can still feel buckle, but no complaints. Won't outgrow for a long time - *Cost*: middle of the road, and it's a good daily driver seat (my dad uses this one in his car for our kid) *WAYB Pico*: - *Weight*: as light as the Cosco, basically, but it also folds into carryon size, so it fits through the TSA scanners and drops over the handle of a wheelie carry on. - *Install*: harder on plane because the belt path is high, but totally doable. Easy in car (latch) - *Fit/Comfort*: we have some time in this seat, but the crotch buckle is definitely in an awkward spot. It's the only seat that completely prevents the uncomfortable airplane seat buckle problem, though. - *Cost*: hilariously expensive. We only bought it because it was on sale, my husband is a huge whiner about carrying car seats, and we use it for Ubers and the like at our destinations. I do love this seat, though.
r/Parenting • Flying ->2021 rav 4 2 forward and 1 rear facing Left is graco slim fit 3 in 1 with latch Middle is graco transitions with seat belt Right is graco infant car seat with latch. A lot of trunk space This setup also works with my 2019 Mazda cx5 but trunk space is way less than rav
r/daddit • Which car to fit 3 kids in the back row? ->My diaper bag came from Amazon. Some non-brand. I’ve seen it on just about every mom at the zoo, so it’s quite popular. I think it was ~$25. My bucket car seat is the Graco snugride snug fit 35 dlx. Using it on my second kid now with no complaints. It will also fit into the attachment on Graco strollers. I think it was around $130. My convertible car seat that they switch into when I get tired of carrying them in the bucket seat is the Graco slim fit 3in1. It was just under $200. My stroller for my first baby was the Graco modes pramette stroller. I think it was around $200 but it was a gift so not sure. Now that we have our second baby we have a Graco ready2grow Lx 2.0. It was on clearance for $170. Bucket car seat will also fit into it like the single stroller. As you can tell, we are loyal to Graco baby stuff.
r/BabyBumps • Tell me what freaking diaper bag, car seat and stroller to buy. My brain is melting. ->We had twins and then a surprise #3 and you honestly can’t go wrong with the Graco car seats. We have the “slim” version of this model and we like it, my twins have another model but still Graco branded.
r/Costco • how good is Graco 4Ever DLX Grad car seat? or would you recommend us something else? my baby is 6 months old almost 7 ->Graco slim fit is the move! Fits perfectly been using it since he was a little!
r/ElantraN • Looking for a good Booster seat for ages 1+? Recommendations? ->Nope not missing anything ??good news is your next car seats will last you much, much longer! I’d get four extend2fits. We love extend2fit. Easy to install and lasts forever, rear faces up to 50lbs while most are 40. My oldest is 4 and no plans to move him from that seat anytime soon. Coscos are great for air travel with as they’re so light but I think they’re less comfortable and don’t grow with your children as much. Also a total pain to install. My husband has a graco slim in his that’s lighter and slimmer and very similar though it stops rear facing at 40
r/parentsofmultiples • Growing out of infant car seats... Am I missing something, or am I about to spend $1500 on 4 new car seats? ->We have used a chicco keyfit 35 and graco slimfits with no issues. Currently have two rear facing graco turn2mes. The passenger seat is tight, but we frequently drive ~3hours to my in-laws with no issues. Husband is 6’ and I’m 5’7”. The rear facing seats are just a phase, and I love the car. We do plan on a third child in a year or two and anticipate needing to get a new vehicle. I’ve managed to fit three across car seats though, so I may just wait until the baby is here to decide if we need a minivan. Cargo space can be hard, but we also typically travel with two large dogs. So we have used a roof cargo bag or a hitch cargo box. Prefer the hitch mount. We also manage to fit a bob duallie stroller in the trunk which is quite a feat.
r/CX5 • View on Reddit →I got the Graco Slimfit! My trip isn't until later this month but the seat looks & feels great! A bit weighted but it feels comfy & safe.
r/Mommit • View on Reddit →Here to say my husband fit my daughter’s Chicco Onefit in his 2010 Corolla. Not behind his seat, but he had it in the center for a couple years. He is 5’11”. She is forward-facing now, and he prefers installing the Onefit compared to installing my Graco Slimfit 3-in-1 forward-facing (which I still love anyway).
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →We wanted our travel seat to be nice enough for regular use in a secondary vehicle, so we didn’t go with the cosco. We got a graco slim fit3 lx! It’s almost 10 pounds lighter than the rava and easy to install. It’s not as light (still almost 20 pounds lol) as typical “travel” car seat but I wanted to get more use out of it then airplanes/vacations!
r/toddlers • View on Reddit →Graco slimfit! It’s heavier than an actual travel car seat, but they will be much more comfortable for plane and car rides since you’re wanting to use it for more than just for flying. This one is also our secondary car seat in our other car. But we’ve taken it traveling on flights across the country before and it fits just fine on the plane. We used the holm rolling cart off Amazon through the airport. I know people also use cords to tie it to a carry on suitcase. Also, check everything else that you can at the airport so you’re not lugging a bunch of stuff around. We are about to fly to DC, and I’m literally checking everything except a backpack/diaper bag and car seat. Hoping to gate check our stroller.

Be sure it is this exact one as there are several graco car sears with similar names that are not actually slim
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →Okay so here are the seats I have for reference: - Graco Extend2Fit 3-in-1 (RF to 50lbs) - Graco Contender Go (RF to 40lbs) - Graco SlimFit 3LX (RF to 40lbs) - Evenflo Revolve 360 Slim (RF to 50lbs) The Civic + 6’ husband is easy because I have the same lol. The Extend2Fit fits beautifully behind my husband’s driver seat—I don’t think any other seat we have would do the same. With your husband’s height, that depth measurement (not sure of the exact number off the top of my head) would be a good starting point. However, while it’s super compact from front to back, it makes up for space width wise so it’s probably not going to play nicely if you ever need to put another car seat directly next to it, even in a 3 row SUV (it would not work with the slimmest seat on the market next to it in my Pilot, for example). I’ll come back to this once my kids are in bed lol Edit—I’m back. Anywho, if you’re pretty set on capping at two kids, slim vs not slim doesn’t *really* matter (although it is nice to be able to put the two seats together and sit in an outboard seat instead of the middle when I need to be in the back for whatever reason on a road trip). If there’s any part of you that might want a third child in the future, I’d more strongly consider a seat that can go three across (16.7” is the width you’d be looking for). Even if you don’t end up installing that way, it’ll be nice to have the option to. As for rotating seats—I could take them or leave them for an suv, but every time I buckle my kids into my husband’s car I cringe because those seats don’t rotate (the Evenflo is in my vehicle—I have one seat that RF to 50lbs in each car and my kids will switch once the older one reaches the limit). My only complaint with the Revolve is that the straps tend to get twisted more easily and get uneven more often than any of my Graco seats, and the headrest could be taller since it’s an extended RF seat. Hopefully this helps give you some things to think about, but feel free to ask any other questions! ETA just for info, I replied to someone else with this so thought I’d share—the Evenflo Revolve360Slim I have is roughly 30” from the back surface of the seat it’s installed on to the back of the seat in front of it. I have it rear facing and at the appropriate recline for a child over 11lbs.
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →We bought one rotating car seat (Nuna) and later a cheaper Graco slim seat for traveling with and the rotating car seat is def the way to go. Getting in and out is a breeze compared to the fixed ones. We still use the Graco for traveling and as a backup in my car. We use the Nuna in the family vehicle 95% of the time
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →Graco slim fit 3 in 1. I have two in my 2018 hrv. My 6'3 husband can fit my daughter behind him rear facing. You have to go with a small model
r/HRV • View on Reddit →We have the Graco 3 in 1 and the Graco 4 in 1. Neither rotate, both go up to a booster seat. I like them both. The 3 in 1 has an easy to release latch, you just press buttons. The 4 in 1 is regular latch that you have to press down the latch part to release. I don't have others so can't compare. But I like our car seats
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →We have the Graco Modes Nest travel system, we also bought the carrycot attachment for it. We have the Graco SlimFit 3-in-1 for when she no longer fits in the infant seat.
r/pregnant • View on Reddit →Yes. My middle was wearing 18m clothes at 9 months when we got the slim fit3 for him. Car seats fot the littles, I believe, has a page about the slimfit3 and they put an average newborn sized doll in the seat to show the fit.
