If you're really set on a convertible I would just make sure they will fit for a newborn! I have [this one](https://www.gracobaby.com/shop/car-seats/toddler-car-seats/convertible-car-seats/extend2fit-convertible-car-seat/SAP_2216092.html) a Graco Extend 2 Fit and we've used it since he was brand new!

We've only used the convertible seat! We have a Graco Extend 2 Fit all in one. The only car seat he will ever need! No regrets. When he was small I held him, carried him, used a stroller, or wore him when we went out and about. Once he could sit up around 5 months it was a bit easier because then he could sit up in the shopping cart but other than that it was great

The E2F is a better fit than the Slimfit by far for NBs. When are you due? And where do you live? My SIL in MN skipped the infant seat, and by 5 weeks they'd bought one, because the cold seat in the car in the winter, was causing the baby to lose body temp. It was better to be able to bring the infant seat inside to keep warm, and put that in the car, than to how starting the car in winter works warm the carseat in less than an hour... I had tiny, winter babies, so I learned from their mistake and got the infant seat. If winter isn't a concern, and teeny babies aren't your thing, then going to a convertible is acceptable. The Slimfit doesn't fit NBs well tho, it doesn't recline enough to be

My take on car seats is there’s not a huge difference between mid range and high range budget seats. But there’s a HUGE difference in low range to mid range. I got a cheap safety 1st to keep at the grandparents and I hate it. It feels cheap, it’s hard to get secure, the cover wants to slide around. It’s supposedly “safe,” but it gives me the ick. Graco extend-2-fit is what I’d consider mid range and it’s awesome. Easy to install, feels secure, materials seem sturdier, etc. It’s the one I have in my car and I love it. It goes on sale periodically on Amazon and Target so I feel like you never need to pay full price. Point being, if you like the quality and other features of another mid range seat brand, just go for it.

We switched to it around 9 months and my kiddo is still in it at 3.5 and I’ll keep her in it until it expires or she grows out of it! Love it.

We have both the cosco scerena next and graco e2f. When my kiddo was young the cosco was fine but it’s pretty uncomfortable for longer flights and trips so we’ve now been taking the extend 2 fit. I personally don’t find it that heavy to lug around and my kiddo is super happy and chill in it.

I personally prefer having the infant car seat and transitioning to a convertible seat later. It’s more convenient for winter and you can keep them covered. We have a base in each car that we regularly travel in. My 1 year old is about to outgrow the infant car seat. Which makes me sad as it’s so much easier to pop him in and out of the car to the stroller for school drop offs/pick ups He’ll be going into his sister’s graco extend to fit and she’s (5.5years old) going into a high back booster. You can go straight to a convertible seat. Boosters come way down the road so I wouldn’t worry about that right now. An infant carrier is more referring a wrap/sling/structured carrier that goes on your body to hold baby hands free. I highly recommend getting one that is comfortable for you. We have ring slings and an ergo 360. I have used them for both of my kids. My 1 year old is a Velcro baby and has to touch me at all times in the evening. I was wearing him on my back to do dishes last night.

We have both the Graco Extend2Fit and the Cosco Scenera and we take the Cosco when we need to Uber to the airport/bring it on the plane. It’s considerably lighter which is helpful for carrying it around in the airport. I could see the Graco maybe getting installed quickly in an Uber if you know what you’re doing and it’s already configured for your child. It’s different though when the Uber driver is tapping their foot and waiting for you to install the thing. Generally for your use case I’d recommend the Cosco.

Ditto-ing the E2F. Our guy was always 99.9% for height, so we outgrew the bucket seat at 4.5M. He’s 10m now and the E2F is awesome and fits into even our tiny cars! Plus, now he stands a chance for staying rear facing longer than 13m

My oldest was over the weight limit before kindergarten, so he was in a high back booster with the car seatbelt. My second could technically still be rear facing (48 pounds, and our seat goes to 50), but she's in her forward facing Extend2Fit. Thankfully, she can usually get herself clipped in and out with just a visual check from me before we start driving

We have an E2F in a corolla and my 6’3 husband can still fit in the passenger seat. Its a little tight for him but still very doable.

I just bought a Graco extend for my 2yo which should rear face until 4 and seemed like one of the lightest car seats available. Had to do this as I don’t trust car hire companies to be able to provide rear facing seats past 15 months now. We also have the bugaboo butterfly pram which is light and easy to travel with. You won’t find a car seat and stroller combo for toddlers

I have one rotating seat and one traditional in my car. In my opinion it’s a “nice to have” feature, but only makes it marginally easier to get them in and out. I opted to get the 360 for our second kid because we had just upgraded to a 3-row SUV and the rotating seat makes it easier to access the 3rd row on the occasions when we have extra passengers. Otherwise, I love the Graco Extend-2-Fit that my oldest has been in since he graduated from his infant seat.

Target USED to have a shelf with strollers. Not sure if they still do. Also there is that one boutique in Habersham Village (punch and Judy I think is the name). Might. I know I tested out chairs there many years ago! Graco is always my favorite. Their modes travel system with the click connect infant seat served us well. Then we moved up to extend2fits for convertibles. My 6 year old is still in one!

Another good Graco model is the Graco Extend-to-Fit 3-in-1 is a good transition. It's slim and easy to move. It fits into small vehicles well.

We have Extend 2 Fits in my husband’s and mom’s cars, and an Evenflo Revolve in my minivan. I like both seats, but it is really nice to be able to turn the seat to face me.

We went with Grace Extens2fit because it rear faces up the 50lbs and is a price point where if it gets exceptionally dirty it wouldn't be painful to replace. I see it recommended regularly by techs on that safety Facebook group. We just got it for under $300 from Walmart ????? I'm sure the clek is nice but the fit looked terrible in our Subaru Outback when I asked them for pics

Agree with other folks, we have a car and this is our car seat, and I have no complaints, but it is heavy. I have installed it for Ubers/used it at the airport, because I don't want to own two car seats, and it certainly all worked (and generally I find install with the Latch system super easy, I haven't yet had to use the seatbelt install so I can't speak to that), but I don't think of it as meant for that. That said, I have a really tall toddler, so the higher height limits make it worth it for us! My friend without a car uses the Cosco and installs it in my car all the time when we're heading places together. It's so quick and light!

I recently got an additional carseat for my 3 year old. Her original seat was a Britax. The new one I got is the Graco extend to fit 3-in-one. My toddler LOVES her new carseat. She has more room and constantly talks about how she can see out the side window better. She is always saying "I can see the grass in your car, I can't see the grass in daddy or Gram's car. I like this seat better". It also has a rear weight limit of 50 pounds which is a plus for me. And the straps are easier to adjust. The britax click tight you could not adjust the straps with a child in the car. The button to release the straps was under the seat so I'd have to take her out of the seat, have her stand either in the driveway or in the car, lift up the seat, push the button and pull the straps, put my entire weight into the seat to get it to click back into place, get toddler out of the car and into her seat. It f-ing sucks!

We loved our even flo 360 extend revolve…. But my son’s legs were SO squished once he hit about 10 months (he’s always been well over the 99%ile). We upgraded to the Graco extend 2 fit premium dlx and we love it!!! He’s not squished at all, and he’s now freshly 2, 40 lbs and 41 inches

I currently have a 6 week old. I didn’t care if my stroller and car seat were compatible, so I got the Gracie Extend2Fit convertible, car seat, which is an infant through toddler and beyond seat. I wanted something that I wouldn’t have to replace multiple times as my kid got older. For my stroller, I got an uppababy Cruz V2 on Facebook marketplace. It’s great in urban environments, can handle bumps, curbs, brick, cobblestone, you name it.

Wouldn't get another travel system at all, my baby is 7 months and we rarely use it anymore. Getting way too big and heavy to maneuver around, doesn't stay asleep in it through transitions, and can sit up well now so sort of prefers the cart or regular stroller anyway. There is no infant seat that can grow with baby really. Graco extend 2 fit 3 in 1 is a great convertible seat. I also like the evenflo revolve 360 extend.
