That sucks. I bought the secret lab desk Magnus pro xl in white. I don’t have any issues with wobble unless I put it at the max height it can go then there is some which is well above where I would need it for my standing height

If you’re in asia, get from a brand called Secretlab. Totally worth it. The big win for me is the very clean cable management and the magnet system they have going.

Secretlab Magnus Pro is not cheap, but I'd recommend it to anyone. It does great at what it's meant to do, and the accessories are great. So is the cable management. It can be a slight pain if you need to swap out cables, but since that's rarely done, I don't think it's a huge detractor. If you do dual screen, I'd recommend getting two single monitor arms.

“Actually stable when standing” That depends on how tall you are. I’m 5’7” and my Magnus Pro is fine, but taller people find it wobbly. Trouble is most of them are on two legs, and it’s just physics. That said there are 4 legs standing desks out there, this one seems good: https://youtu.be/Ei_Wq7cdBwg

I've had mine for over a year and it's fantastic. Yes it costs more, but it's rock solid, the motor is smooth, and cable management is as good as it gets. I also have the 2-monitor stand, the extra magnetic cable management kit, and the laptop holder. 10/10 from me. I do not have the matching pad though - I bought an oversized one that covers most of the desk but not all. It's more cushioned and is water proof, and definitely less than the matching pads. It is heavy, and I assembled it myself - it's doable. But I'd recommend having someone help you move the boxes around, especially with stairs.

i bought a magnus about a year ago and I love it. it's kinda spendy but the build quality is great and it's rock solid. and the cable management is so good. my setup has never looked cleaner despite the fact that I have more peripherals than ever. it's not perfect though - i did have an issue w/ my original monitor arm not fitting so I had to purchase a different one which was made by VIVO. i also had a minor issue where after a power outage I was getting an error code and I couldn't adjust the height but all I had to do for the fix was unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in it was expensive like I said but if you spend a lot of time at your PC it's worth it. after using cheap, wobbly desks for so long it was an amazing breath of fresh air.

Have the Magnus Pro XL and it's not that difficult to attach a monitor arm. There's quite a bit of space for most arms. I will accept that maybe some arms might not be able to fit properly but that's probably few and far between Also yes you do lose some space due to the cable management but it's such a more elegant solution than the cheap looking trays at the bottom of most other desks but as well you could get the riser and it will sit further back so you get that lost space back plus being able to attach any monitor arm

I’ve heard decent things about the chairs. Good for back, but not soft at all However i have the Magnus Pro myself. I really like it. Any questions? It was easy to build, holds a lot of weight, can go really high and really low, I LOVE that the control panel is integrated into the table. The RGB is a lot of fun. Cable management tray is excellent. All the extras are great Not sure i have much to say negative about this table. Even the price is similar or better than other brands and you get WAY more stuff than the other brands with terrible looking tables and no features at all

I got the Secretlab Magnus Pro XL (wanted the bigger one). The desk I will recommend from them. [https://secretlab.eu/nl/pages/magnus-pro](https://secretlab.eu/nl/pages/magnus-pro) I bought this one 2 years ago. This was best purchase ever. Its expensive but for me worth it: spending 8+ hours on it every day and wanted to sit comfortable and productive as possible. The build quality is amazing so its gonna last forever I hope Solid desk which I use daily by switching with standing/sitting. Memory function helps a lot for this. Recommended it to 2 friends and they bought it as well. They are still very happy with it. Bought it in the EU store and everything with the bill/vat was fine.

I don’t know the height of your table, but i think the Magnus Pro goes down to 25.6 inches. Confirm this info for yourself, but im pretty sure thats correct I was happy that this table can go lower than my last table. It’s pretty low A word of warning: if you attach the PC under the table with the mount, the table may not be able to reach the minimum height due to the PC hitting the floor. I weighed my options, and I’m glad i put the PC under the table, even if that results in a slightly higher minimum height

For reference my sitting height is 85 on the Magnus - I'm a tall dude so the monitors are mounted at a decent height already. So like I said I do get a good range of motion out of them to where they are still useable when standing (G9 has half the reach so it would be the lower/secondary monitor in standing position). Though as pointed out below the fine adjustment sitting height was the main selling point along with cable management. If I had to guess the only standing use I'll get out of the desk is if I move my walking pad into the office from the living room. Which then the upper monitor can raise to bang on eye level. Holding out for that heavy duty vertical stack arm Secretlab!

I did do it by myself and it is quite heavy. But most people are worried about the flip which I'd say was pretty easy. I didn't realize how short the desk could go so short rotation distance was easier than what I was prepping for. The hardest part for me was getting the heavy metal top as a giant slab into position to actually build it. Which I'd highly recomment over building then moving, unless you're putting casters on it or have all hardwood floors with moving pucks lol. At least for the XL theres no way to just brute force pick it up by yourself. So I laid out the packing foam like a red carpet, tilted the desk up on one end (like left edge on the ground, held right edge up in front of my face), and "walked" across the foam 20 feet to where I wanted it.

One thing I have to point out is that both we and Deskhaus focus on the essence of what makes a desk... well, a desk. When you're using a desk, the most important thing—or let’s say the most annoying thing—is how much it wobbles. This is something a lot of people don’t realize because with a regular desk that’s 27 inches high, as long as it’s not a total piece of junk, it’s usually pretty stable. But here’s the catch: when you raise a desk to 35 or 48 inches, wobbling becomes an issue. This is just a universal downside of standing desks—it’s unavoidable. The best anyone can do is minimize it. That’s why some customers think their standing desk is defective when it feels unstable, but in reality, that’s just how these desks work. For example, check out this \[[YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-mWszhGYcw)\] that tests the stability of the Uplift V2. Now, back to the point. While Secretlab's desk does have a ton of flashy accessories that look cool, I personally think they missed the mark on the desk’s core purpose—it’s got noticeable wobble. Those fancy add-ons? You can find similar ones on Amazon and use them with a more stable standing desk, which I think is a smarter move. That said, most decent two-leg standing desks are stable enough for typical office use. For example, when you’re typing while standing, you won’t really notice the monitor shaking unless you’re actively pushing on the desk. That’s why some people are perfectly happy with Secretlab’s desk—it all comes down to how much wobble someone can tolerate. If you’re more sensitive to wobbling, you might want to look into a four-leg standing desk for better stability. Even among four-leg desks, though, there are differences. Build quality matters a lot. Generally, unless you’re dealing with crazy brand markups, pricier desks tend to have wider crossbars, thicker legs, and three-stage columns. For instance, comparing our FlexiSpot E7 Plus and E7Q, both are four-leg standing desks, but the E7Q is more stable because it’s built with a heavier-duty frame. You can literally see it in the product weight. But here’s the kicker: the E7 Plus is priced similarly to many two-leg standing desks, and it’s obviously way more stable than those. Check out this \[[stability test video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V53gM7FxBGU)\]—start at the 5-minute mark to see the E7 Plus in action. If your budget’s got some wiggle room, the Deskhaus Apex Pro or our E7Q would both be solid picks.

Unfortunately most people won’t have tried more than one or 2 brands. My vote is for uplift. I’ve tried the Secret Lab standing desk at a friend’s place as well. While it wasn’t bad at all, I just like the look and feel of Uplift more because you choose wood laminate or actual wood. The Secret Lab table just felt like a black chunk of metal. Not a good or bad thing. Just an observation. You can get mats for it though. Full disclosure, I’m not some power user of the standing feature, I’ve only used it a hand full of times. Why I went with uplift was actually because of how LOW it could go. I started having a lot of neck and back pain and I was already showing some signs of carpal tunnel. All because I work while sitting and my main hobby is gaming as well so basically I’m sitting A LOT. Lol. I started researching into good chairs and tables along with getting obsessed with the right posture to sit and the angles based on your height and even the difference in leg and torso lengths because even at the same height people can have different length compositions for upper and lower body. Getting a desk that was well reviewed and had good quality was important but I really needed a desk that could go much lower than an average desk so I could position it in the most optimal way for me to achieve the posture I needed to maintain. Uplift checked all those boxes and now I’m here a few years later with all my pain left in the past for the lost part. I say for the most part because everyone likes to sit like a curled shrimp every once in a while and there’s no cure for that. ?? Uplift was definitely expensive but I think it cost me like $1195 with quite a few random accessories I also added to it. This was back in 2022. Obviously the value is subjective based on your financial situation as well but this was one of the best investments I ever made for a pain free back, neck and hands. I’m sure you could get it for a little cheaper when they have sales going on but I don’t know how recent inflation and tarrifs may have affected the base cost. And again in the interest of transparency I also got the Herman Miller Arron at a good discount around that time because I used to work for a real-estate company that had a partnership with Herman Miller. Still pretty expensive but worth it for me since I spend so much time sitting. Hope this helps.

Ive got a Secretlab Magnus at home and an Ergolutions Primus at work. Both of them are very nice. Which one fits better for you depends on a few factors: a) Cable Managment: i think Secretlab is the only provider for desks with cable management truly inside the table. With i think every other provider you will have to go for cable snakes and cable trays, which is also a solid option, but doesnt look as clean as cable management inside the desk. b) Optics: One of the reasons secretlab is rather expensive is their cooperation with various game studios. If you want stuff like a perfect fitting mousepad in assassins creed design or something like that, you should go for them. If you want anything else, i wouldnt go for secretlab, cause they dont offer very much. My Ergolutions desk has a nice oak optic, which i love and there are many other options to choose from. c) Pricing: it doesnt really matter if you buy a licensed product - youre gonna pay for the licenses of secretlab, if youre gonna buy a desk from secretlab. With an Ergolutions product youre paying for the desk. If id buy another desk, it would probably be another Ergolutions Primus. Both products are stable, hardly wobble, and can be used for years.

I've had three standing desks over the last 7 years: * Started with a VIVO dual motor from Amazon; broke just after 3 year warranty mark * Replaced with Uplift V2 C-Frame in 2021; made a custom top; killer desk, I still have this in my shop * Currently running SecretLab Magnus Pro; even more killer of a desk The Uplift desk is great. I have it sitting on 3" casters and even still it is very stable. The Magnus Pro feels beefier in every way; the weight and rigidity is next level. I got the Magnus for the specific features (cable management, magnets, etc) and appearance. I can't speak to long term reliability but I can say both the Uplift and Secretlab are tanks and remain stable at height for my 6'3 frame. Both desks have a laptop and one 32" display. The Uplift uses an arm, the Secretlab display is on a stand. Edit: As for usage, I do stand multiple times a day. Mostly if I'm in a meeting and my watch tells me it's time to get up. If I'm not in a meeting, well, I go walk around the house or something.

What kind of vertical braces do you mean? This two-leg system is pretty common from what I’ve seen I gotta say, my table is supporting my PC, monitor, some decoration, a bunch or cables, the peripherals, some extra stuff on top. It’s got a fait bit of stuff on it and it’s perfectly fine I did the math when i bought it, it holds something like 265 lbs total, and the tabletop + all my stuff (pc, monitor, etc) left me with something like 50-100 lbs left of weight. Plenty of buffer to add more stuff As i said in another comment, it’s very stable. Minor wobbling at full height, which any standing desk will have. I use it around 0-60% height and it’s totally OK ????

I bought a Secretlab Magnus Pro, and can thoroughly recommend it. It has some really cool features, including: * Built-in cable run, that is large enough to fit multiple 4- or 6-gang extension leads. Cable management is really trivial with this desk. * You plug the leg of the desk in, and power runs up to the cable run, so your cables don't stretch when you raise the desk. You can even buy an attachment to clamp your PC to the desk, so it goes up and down with the desk. * Motorized with a really smooth motor. * Rock solid when in sitting-desk mode. * Near rock-solid when in standing mode. * The desk controller is embedded into the desk, not a small box underneath the desk, so you can't bang it with your chair. A small, but very welcome detail. * Really nice accessories - the entire desk is metal, so a lot of the accessories are magnetic. The monitor arms especially are great - very heavy duty. Secretlab sell lots of little magnetic gubbins for cable management, which are handy for clamping charging cables and things to specific locations. Basically, you end up with a nice looking that can actually stay fairly neat and tidy. Cons: * Only the left leg has a power socket, which is frsutrating as my plug is on the right. A small detail, but an annoying one. * The price. Once you've added a few accessories, you are looking at ~£1000. My justification was I use it 8 hours a day, 4 days a week (and my kids use it outside those hours as well) so the cost is amortised - but I'm fully aware that's man-maths :) Also, be aware it's a _very_ heavy desk. I've also heard that SL support isn't the best, but I've not had to contact them, so _shrug_.

ecretlab I'm a neurotic individual so when it came to purchasing a standing desk I went right into the deep end. I researched every existing standing desk, read reviews, watched videos, etc. I was relying on Wirecutter's top recommendation list but was turned off by how much their top pick ended up costing after adding all the extra items (table top upgrade, power receptacles, etc). It was in that review that I discovered a mention of the Magnus Pro. I quickly saw that it checked all the boxes I was looking for in a standing desk. I priced it out, put in my order during the Memorial Day sale period for the desk, a dual monitor arm, and the XL cable management bundle. I received the items in less than 4 business days and was able to get it installed at my office. Initial impressions I am totally blown away by the build quality of all the components I ordered. While it was an expensive purchase, all the items feel and look worthy of the cost. The marquee feature of the desk is of course the cable management. Having the clutter of the wires hidden away is such a nice perk. It’s hard to overstate how nice it is to have the dedicated cable channels in the monitor arms and the ability to hide all the chargers behind a panel and forget they are there. I was somewhat concerned that the desk would feel out of place in my shared office with traditional desk pieces and office furniture but it still fits right in. For anyone on the fence on whether it fits in a non gamer environment, fret no more. It will work in any environment. Future Purchases I plan on purchasing another single monitor arm and the laptop attachment to get the laptop off the desk. I’m on the fence about the desk shelf but only because I have a divider behind the desk and I’m concerned about the dual monitor arms mounted so close to the wall. I’ve seen some people’s setups with the shelf and really like the extra space it provides. Browsing this subreddit has also made me feel like I need the matching chair now! I’m fully aboard the Secretlab hype train at the moment. Thanks for reading

I absolutely love my standing desk and have incorporated a walking pad under it. I can walk and work, or fold it up and bring the desk down to sit when needed with little interruption. That is with a Secret Labs desk, but you said your budget was a little less than them. I would suggest Varidesk as they have ones that sit on top of any desk and are cheaper.

I run a YouTube channel on desk setups mainly and have been sent so many standing desks over the last two years. Lol. Here are my findings: -My wife bought a cheap fezibo for $250 and she still uses it. Not the best looking, but still works for her. -Flexispot and Vernal are the best value for your money and solid desks with different price points. Well within your budget and even under $400 with sales. -All two legged standing desks wobble at standing heights. Even the expensive secret lab magnus pro. The only way to mostly get rid of a lot of wobble is to have a 4 legged standing desk. I actually kept one from flexispot that’s 4 legs as a work bench for shooting content. -With your budget, I would focus on the look and features that are important for you. Things like depth and size for your needs as well. Accessories that come with it like a cable management tray, etc. -If you use clamp on accessories, check to make sure the desk will support that on almost all the edges. I’ve found some desk designs don’t allow you to easily use clamp on accessories which I like to use. -Always looks at real video or customer pictures of the desk before you buy it. I’ve seen brands over saturate their marketing pictures. And when it comes in, it looks dull or quite different.

The upper monitor is mounted at 6 feet on the wall and the arms I have provide plenty of movement to adjust for a standing height. Though yes It would be nice for it to be all in one - I just wasn't happy with the "pole" style mounts and these arms give plenty of 3-axis movement. Yeah as a tall guy the adjustable height is a godsend, finally enough legroom and the cables aren't tangled up in my feet.
