I use an electric Jarvis desk and really like it. Especially for the after lunch meetings, if I am not feeling engaged then standing up is a good focus booster. I've had it since 2019 and it goes up and down a few times daily. I also adjust it a couple inches here and there to accommodate different sitting positions. It's a nice luxury overall.

Facebook marketplace typically has lots on resale at a steep discount! I got my Jarvis standing desk for $150 almost new and it was originally $800

Just got a desky, honestly didn’t even know it was a thing till the day I ordered it. It came super lightly damaged due to fedex placement and box coming apart a smidge, they were super responsive, offered a replacement part or adjustment within an hour of me reaching out. I also love the product I got the Bambu and it is fantastic.

Jarvis desk from Fully. They used to have a depot in Gent. It’s been acquired by Hermann Miller now? After years of experience, I would advise my past-me who was shopping for a sit-stand desk: - get the electric version with the memories. Making it easy to change heights is the most important feature. - get a smaller tabletop (or get a 4-legged table). It wobbles the bigger it gets. - the adjustable monitor arm is extremely helpful at getting the correct levels for eye and hands. - you don’t need 2 monitors. Get a wide monitor - the sit-stand chair is a great companion

I have one I got several years ago, but spent quite a bit on it. Jarvis, I think? Anyway, it's only 36" wide, which I had to have because that's the space I had to fit. It doesn't wobble unless I grab it and shake it. While I like most things about it, the only aspect I truly hate is my own fault: hanging underneath is a Gordian knot of cables and ties and dust and bugs. Well, maybe not bugs, but it's still a nasty mess I don't enjoy looking at. Because of limited space, I almost never stand at it. The mechanism works extremely well, but I'll point out that this is my second motor etc--the first one buggered itself up and couldn't be reset, but the entire desk is guaranteed for 10 years, so they sent me an entirely new mechanism (priority!), and it has worked perfectly ever since. That happened four years ago. It was remarkably easy to file a claim--I called them up, explained, the person had me try a few things, and then said, "I'm sending you new legs and a new mechanism." Less than twenty minutes all told. It's worked faultlessly ever since. Yes, it's a Jarvis table, sold by Fully: [https://store.hermanmiller.com/brands-fully](https://store.hermanmiller.com/brands-fully) When I bought it, the price was around $600; I thought that was a pretty good deal, and I've been proved right. Ah. Turns out I spent $500 on it, and that was in 2018. No idea what they cost now, but I'm sure they're worth it. I wish I had more room to get a wider desk, but I still have three years left on my warranty, and that makes up for a lot.

I’ve had the Fully Jarvis bamboo desk for two years. Rock solid, smooth motor, no weird wobble. Pricey but worth it if you stand half the day. Avoid the AmazonBasics ones, mine died in six months.

Bought Jarvis. Had for 5 years. Lift started going out. Herman Miller bought Jarvis. They sent me a completely new desk. Top and legs! Recommend.

2.5 years ago I redid my home office and spent up on nice Uplift desks. I didn't go for standing, but the 2 desks/tables I bought are solid and were worth it. I would imagine their standing models are also solid. They all use the same table/top options. If you want more than 1 desk you can mix and match a standing and non-standing and have them match perfectly. My standing desk at work is a Jarvis. It's also fine, though I rarely use it standing up ... which is why I didn't go stand-up at home. As for cable management, the frames are all magnetic. So some magnets & velcro ties have been fine. Google magnetic cable management for ideas.

Don’t ignore edge shape. A beveled or curved front edge reduces wrist pressure more than you’d think. My Jarvis with the curved cutout keeps keyboard/mouse closer and shoulders relaxed.

I’d recommend the Jarvis desks by Fully. They were acquired by Herman Miller several years ago.

IMO Jarvis is about 10% nicer and typically waaaaay more expensive. E7 is still plenty quiet, fast, and stable, and is the right pick between the two for most people.

Look for an electric sit/stand desk from one of the bigger companies. You can either get one with the desktop included, or you can buy your own and mount it yourself. I bought a Fully Jarvis a few years ago and mounted a Uline butcherblock shop counter on it, and I love it. They're a good investment for your health, customizable, and typically have very good build quality.

For your set up, you might consider a used Fully Jarvis, heavy duty and available in 180cm x 80cm. Don’t buy them new off Herman Miller (who bought out Fully) and they’re wicked expensive. I have two of them - one was used, and can vouch for their sturdiness and their functionality.

Remember that it isn't necessarily about standing, sometimes its nice to just easily give it a quick up or down adjustment for temporary comfort. For that, standing desks will always be worth it, even if you don't stand. I'll never not recommend the fully.

I got the Fully Jarvis standing desk several years ago (before they were acquired by Herman Miller). I bought it primarily because of the fact it can be lowered to a height that's comfortable for me and where my feet can still sit comfortably on the floor. That's to say, I bought a standing desk primarily to use comfortably while sitting, since most non-standing desks aren't low enough to the ground for me. 99% of the time I use it sitting and it's nice to be able to adjust it to a standing position when I want to.

Have had the Jarvis for maybe 3 years now, but cannot recommend it. It's just as "good" as any generic branded standing desk. They're not actually Herman Miller, they bought out a company called Fully and they're just the same desk and slapped the HM logo onto it. It wobbles when you use it as a standing desk, cable management is terrible and the coloured versions of the tops you can get wear through after 6 months. Very much overpriced and all you're getting is a very big standard £250 standing desk with a logo.

I've got the Jarvis (now Herman Miller, was sold by Fully when I bought mine). I have to set a reminder to stand a couple of times a day or I forget, but it's really good. Had it about 3.5yrs now. Cheaper models can wobble when they're high up - I'm over 6ft and like to have the desk at elbow-cleaning height so it's pretty high when I'm standing, but I get very little movement when I lean on it. I'd recommend a standing mat to go with it - I bought an amazon basics one similar to [this](https://amzn.eu/d/em63llL) and it makes standing much more comfortable. Also a good footrest when I'm sitting. I've also got a set of Duronic monitor arms which are really cheap but solid.

I have a Fully Jarvis with the memory feature, which is definitely worth it to me. My OCD would freak out without it. The desk is great. I stand about 80% of the day. I put it down to see it take breaks. I also recommend a foam mat to stand on to if you have hard surfaced floors.

Jarvis desk is made by Jiecang (same as Uplift and Deskhaus). Flexispot is made by Loctek. I have a Jarvis and a Flexispot E7. The Jarvis is like 5-10% nicer. Slightly quieter, and slightly more stable at standing height. But the E7 is already plenty good, I think provides better value. I haven’t tried the E7 Pro but I would imagine it’s basically identical to Jarvis and Uplift V2. That said, I wouldn’t go below an E7.

I’ve tried both, had the Uplift V2 for a year and recently switched to a Fully Jarvis. Honestly, the Uplift feels a bit sturdier at max height and has better cable management options, but the Jarvis looks cleaner and the bamboo top feels premium. The Branch Duo is nice too if you want something more compact or budget-friendly. I’d say Wirecutter’s list isn’t wrong, but it really depends on how tall you are and how much gear you put on your desk.
