My area which is very similar to yours probably I’ve had the Q990C and just upgraded to the Q990F a few days ago. Q990F is for sure better. I know people say there isn’t much of a difference but it’s just overall a better package. The sub in my space and placement at least is much better. I also feel there is a better stereo soundstage and overall detail and immersion. I’ve never had any tech issues with either of these with my LG TV. I’ve also tried the Bose Ultra Soundbar but just with the 700 bass module with no surrounds. It’s very impressive with the sound it produces for being so small. However I did have CEC issues but I also use an Apple TV so maybe that was part of it. I also recommend Sonos. Wherever you get, I think you will be happy with it! You can find the Q990F on brandsmartUSA for $1000 at least that’s what it was a week ago or so and can have Best Buy price match. The Bose goes on sale sometimes for $700 for the bar and $700 for the sub. They can also be financed at guitarcenter for 48 months and if you go with Sonos, let me know I may have a 15% off code for you.
r/Soundbars • ATMOS Soundbar setup for LG C5 ->Hate to say this as it may not be helpful but most of matters on your surrounding area and placement. I have the Arc Ultra, Sub Gen 4, 2 Symfonisk standing lamps in our family room and a Q990C in our living room. They both sound good but they do produce a different sound. They both are easy to set up. The reason Q990 series is so popular is the value. Most people probably get it on sale and not MSRP. If I had to choose one for myself, I would go with Sonos but again the area you set everything up matters a lot. Sonos does have the calibration and Samsung kind of does too but it’s been debated if it does anything at all as when you turn it off and on, you do not hear any difference. If you want to save money and get a great experience, go with Q990 series. If you like the sound of your lamp, even though it’s not a soundbar. Should have the same sound signature. As I’m sure everyone who has Sonos says, you can use the surrounds as actual speakers if you decide or if you get more Sonos products, you can have audio all over the house. If you decide to go with Sonos, let me know. I may be able to provide you a 15% discount code and if you decide to go with Samsung, I get it for $700. However I do have to login and order it.
r/Soundbars • Sonos Bundle or Samsung HW-Q990D ->Can’t speak about the beam but I do have the arc ultra, sub mini and the IKEA standing lamps which are basically an older version of the era 100 and I do find that gives you more of a bubble. I do have the Q990C and that’s amazing as well in its own right. Again I don’t have the beam but my 2 cents if they help at all. Lol I imagine the Q990D would give you more immersion just because it has up firing speakers and in general much more speakers. For me the Sonos app has been fine. I don’t use it much. Only to adjust any settings and time to time, listen to music through it.
r/Soundbars • Sonos surround ( beam, mini sub, era 100 x2) vss. samsung hw-q990d ->I own the F, D and C. The F had a much more enjoyable tight bass. The D and C sub can go a whisker lower, but it's a farty annoying type of bass. The F bass is much preferred in my household.
r/Soundbars • Bass difference between Q990D and Q990F ->If he doesn't need the ports he could go with the C. Samsung's upgrades....lol....aren't worth tht money since years. It's laughable and I'm a Samsung soundbar guy myself. Wait till early summer and you'll get the F for 950 everywhere. As usual.
r/Soundbars • Q990D or Q990F ->At that price point, why don't you consider a Samsung Q990*? A true surround with an amazing quality.
r/Soundbars • Trying to decide between Sonos Arc Ultra or a 3.1 setup ->Any soundbar can do. But depends on how immersed you want to be. A 200 dollar soundbar is not going to sound near as good as a 1000 dollar one. I have a Samsung q990 and it trumps every other soundbar I’ve had up to this point. I’d highly recommend it if you have the cash. But if not, any soundbar will be better than tv speakers.
r/PS5pro • Any soundbar will do? ->Q800 and Q990 are both the absolute best price/perf in their respective categories. Are they the best thing singe bread came sliced? No. Are they the best package you can buy in their price ranges? Absolutely.
r/Soundbars • Is the Samsung HW-Q990F/D/C that good or it's just a "Reddit" hype thing? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I was able to use AAA membership 2 years ago for the Samsung store discount , not sure if that still works. Worth the trouble of getting a community college email for sure though. For $700ish the Q990(x) models are amazing and I love watching movies in Dolby atmos. The first time you hear a helicopter/plane fly over you is mind blowing. I also now love it for listening to music as it’s much better than my other speakers.
r/LGOLED • What soundbar are you guys using with your LG OLED? On a scale from 1-10, how happy are you with the purchase? ->I really can’t compare the sound as I haven’t listened to the Sonos outside of stores and that environment makes fair comparisons tough. If you want a really fancy multi room setup, you need to go Sonos or one of its premium competitors. I don’t like some of the decisions Sonos made with their app or older hardware, so I barely considered them when I was looking for a new system. The Q990C I have is just a soundbar system that works with my TV and AppleTV. I can cast to it or do some other things but really I don’t use those options. The appleTV gives me all the high quality music I could want. A Sonos system with a sub and rear speakers is going to be 3x the sale price of the Samsung which was a non starter for me. But the Sonos app features might be worth more to you.
r/LGOLED • What soundbar are you guys using with your LG OLED? On a scale from 1-10, how happy are you with the purchase? ->Samsung q990c I have this and it's very good in atmos. After seeing the prices at JBL or Sonos too... Sony bar 9 can be
r/Soundbars • best soundbar ->Wait for the Q990 to go on sale. I promise you won’t regret the extra money. Watch one Christopher Nolan movie and you’ll be so thankful
r/Soundbars • HELP ME to pick best soundbar with best surround effect and bass around $500-$600 (?65k) ->The q990 is incredible
r/Soundbars • Which one is better at this price LG S95TR OR samsung q990 ->I know, I'm trying to show a point that for 1000 OP should be getting a q990, I'm saying his not getting his money's worth(value) getting the q930 for 1000, u get what I mean.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I wasn't blown away but I was happy with the clarity and detail of the Samsung no issue there. I wasn't happy with the sub no matter what I did, I tried all the online tricks to improve it. I fixed it by finding a sound bar with more and bigger subs! Lol
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Be careful not sucking the teet that is the 990 around here. It is treated as gospel lol. But I had the same experience as you, no matter how much app fiddling I did. The 990 was Eh, and I expected more from the hype. I was wanting to be blown away. I sold my 990 and moved onto a bigger dual sub sound bar and have been satisfied

r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I bought the 990c a year ago for ~$600 and the thing is amazing considering how simple it is to set-up and use. If you can get the d for similar this year, you won’t be disappointed. It’s awesome too I’m sure

r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →It's just not waaay better. Definitely not 500 bucks better. Just look at the rtings reviews.

r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Well high ceilings is bad for any soundbar, But the best soundbar hands down mainly with value is the q990 series (c/d/f). Next I would assume is the Sonos arc ultra(but the full set gets expensive) Then I guess the Bravia theatre quads(although not really a soundbar, and very expensive)(also works better with a sony tv, and u would need to buy a sub) That's just my thoughts, idk much abt other soundbars, other can say.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I’d go for Samsung Q990C or Q990D. They sound absolutely fantastic. Good bass, good low and high sounds, easy to customize it to your taste, and you can find the Q990C discounted I believe. Most LG speakers got a bad review everywhere you look. Edit: I have the Q990C with LG B2 OLED
r/LGOLED • View on Reddit →I’m still happy with my C. And the main difference between the C and D is HDMI 2.1, but I have a Hue 8K Sync box that functions as a switch so even that doesn’t really matter to me much. So I’d say go with the D
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →After $1000 all soundbars are basically the same. The front drivers will all be 3" max, and have wireless surrounds and a wireless subwoofer. For larger rooms it may sound empty or disconnected from the bass. For a room dedicated for movies and gaming, have you considered an actual AVR setup? $1500 would get you proper Atmos and an actual front sound stage. If you are set on a soundbar setup, the closest thing you will get to actual theater sound is a Nakamichi Dragon. It has the biggest drivers two subwoofers (but goes for $2600 or so on sale). Samsung Q990 is good for a soundbar, but won't come close to actual cinema sound, unfortunately. If not, an AVR with Atmos and the Polk XT set or Klipsch Reference set (with built in Atmos modules) would be cheaper and sound much better.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Just get a Q990C or Q990D. Its a lot better than sony its soundbars and cheaper too. Only gets beaten by the HTA9 and Theatre Quads. But those cost significantly more than the Samsung sets.
r/bravia • View on Reddit →It's not 500 bucks better, that's always been the issue with the 990, it's generally been waay overpriced for the relatively small features. The 930 is already going to blow the socks off most people. It's not like going to the 990 is going to be a significant upgrade and 500 bucks difference is a significant difference.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Is the q990d good? I just got my q990c but when I registered it in smart things it shows up as the q990d.... Did they screw me?
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I was –literally– blown away by the quality of the Q990. I have a Sony muteki (HTM77) as main device in my man-cave, and a few months back bought the Q990 for my living room..... and let me tell you, can't believe the quality of this 'little' samsung device. The bass/low range is so clear and precise it's crazy. Yeah, it might lack in peak brute power compared to the muteki but damn that Q990 sounds soooo nice.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Nice choice ??, and the q990 is actually a whole different soundbar, it's dimensions are bigger, also the quality will be better(its not just abt loudness)
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I have the same with living room about 16'x25' area using a Q990C soundbar setup. The ceiling is 10' at highest (side where tv & speaker sit) & 8' lowest where couch is in front of tv about 14' away. The sound is great & have no issues. You won't be disappointed with the dolby atmos sound.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I had the same struggle last year deciding 990c and 990d. I went the cheaper route and got the 990c. No regrets. do the same and get the d. You won't care about the extra features of the f I'm 99% sure
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →All of his complaints are "valid," but they are also all just what I call "YouTube video complaints." Lol I watch reviews too, and used to think it made me quite the expert. I certainly had the *knowledge*. But you know what's better than knowledge? *EXPERIENCE.* Ain't no one who has ever actually heard a dragon and a q990 system in the same room ever gonna say they're close. They're definitely not. The internet has made everyone believe their experts in their content niche, but remember, 90%+ of the comments you'll get are people who have never owned the product. (Sometimes even when they say they do ??) Or they just own the product they're defending. Now VALUE wise.. totally different story. A q990 system, or a second hand Sonos system destroys the dragon value wise. You can get a Sonos Arc and sub for under 400 each, and era 100s for around 150 each. Let's say between 1000-1200 total. The dragon is better, but not 3x better. If you want the best sound possible from a soundbar system, go dragon w/ 12in subs front and put the 8s in the back (unless you're gonna go wild and do 4 12s) Second to that would be an arc ultra w/ dual subs and Era 300s as rears.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I have the 1 year older 990c and think it’s incredible paired with my LG G4 83”
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Of course they're overkill for your bedroom, but I use the 990C in a game room that's probably smaller and love it. No reason to buy used/refurbished unless it's under $600, the 990D has been under $900 new for months.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Is the c not that good? I just got one. Was having issues with my q800b.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →The Q990 has the ability, through the Samsung Smart Things app to set up the surrounds as extra "fronts". So you can enjoy the Q990 by placing those speakers in front to widen the sound stage. They don't have to be used as rear surrounds. I'd get the Q990 and set it up that way, then if your living situation changes you have the ability to use them as rear surrounds. Have your cake and eat it too.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Just use the rear speakers as fronts... at this point there's nothing gonna be substantially better than the q990c especially a standalone soundbar.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I own the F, D and C. The F had a much more enjoyable tight bass. The D and C sub can go a whisker lower, but it's a farty annoying type of bass. The F bass is much preferred in my household.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I have an LG G3 with inadequate built-in speakers, so was in the market for soundbar. Naturally I considered LG soundbars to stay in the ecosystem but reviews scared me away. So I went with the crowd favorite Samsung Q900C 7.1 (effectively the Q990C 11.1 minus rear speakers) for $400 and no complaints.
r/LGOLED • View on Reddit →If he doesn't need the ports he could go with the C. Samsung's upgrades....lol....aren't worth tht money since years. It's laughable and I'm a Samsung soundbar guy myself. Wait till early summer and you'll get the F for 950 everywhere. As usual.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I had the same question, I was at the cheapest, I had bought a 990 precisely. I used it for 2 months, 2 months of struggle between unexpected source changes and adjustments, everything is horribly hollow, the surrounds are shrill and the central voice too hollow. I tried all the settings, I pulled my hair out, I tried everything, it was impossible to get a correct sound.....so I decided to sell it. With I financed an arc ultra, then 2 era300 then the sub! The sounds are crazy! The play thing really does a crazy job! I almost didn't touch the settings! The bass is physical and present even on the surrounds, the voices are clearly audible! Honestly, I don't regret the transition at all. It certainly has a cost, but the quality is there! Not to mention the music side which is very very good, absolutely nothing to do with 990…. Are you talking about application dependency? AirPlay works very well, you don't have to use the app :) and if the official app doesn't suit you, there's another app! Like Sonify for example
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →The 990D for best quality for newest speaker money wise. Its amazing. However, depending on your tv i would advise to go for the 990C. If you have a good samsung or LG television that have 4 hdmi 2.1 ports, then you should definitely opt for the 990C. That is probably a good amount cheaper than the 990D The 990D is soundwise basically the 990C. Maybe just a couple of minor software updates. The only thing that the D > C are the 2 input ports with hdmi 2.1 capabilities. That and the basically useless Q-symphony for the Samsung electronic paintings. If you have a high budget you could do the sony bravia quads with SWA-5 sub. It will cost you though. I can only imagine how good that sound set is. I have a Q990D with my 65" G3. Thats amazing. However i also have a 65" A95L with the Ht-A9 and accompanying SWA-5 sub. The Atmos effects of that system almost makes the 990D sounds non-atmospheric. Its that good at Atmos and spatial audio. So the Quads are even better at doing that.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Sonos without discussion…… I started with a q990 from Samsung, hell to sort out. I spent my time tinkering with the settings and was never satisfied, I sold it and bought an ultra bow! Then a few weeks later, an era300, then another! Then here I am today with a setup that is very, very heavy!
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I have a Samsung Q990C paired with my G4. Got it on sale for $630. I love it so much. Had no idea soundbar surround systems had gotten so good.
r/LGOLED • View on Reddit →Assuming u in america, most of the time u get those for less than 1000, u can also get a q990c(just lose a hdmi 2.1 ports)
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I mean if u can afford it go for it, but I wouldn't push it to 1000, at that price u should be getting a q990c/d/f.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Q990C is awesome, upgraded from the Vizio Elevate as well. If my $1,500 Klipsch RP setup is a 10/10, I'd say the Samsung is a 9 and the Vizio is an 8. They're each a noticeable step up and the Q990D for $700 is a great sweet spot.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →I had one for years. It was definitely an improvement over the TV speakers. But after having the Q990C I’ll definitely never buy one without rear speakers again (at least not for a main room). What does your arrangement look like where you can’t have rear speakers?
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Ive owned every samsung Q950A and Q990 sets from Q950T to Q990D. And now I own 2 HTA9 sets with subs. I tell you so..
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →There's no reality where the 990 is worth 500 bucks/euros more than the 930. They are simply too close together for that to make sense. If it was like 100 bucks or something, sure, no brainer, spend it. But the performance and feature set between the two isn't significant and that 500 price difference is significant.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Well, you already got a pretty decent soundbar. The Q930 and 990 are a step up but although they both come with rear surrounds, you can place them up front adjacent the soundbar and change the setting in the app to tell the bar where they are.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Another Samsung Q990x - for me it’s the best for my needs. Always ensure you’ve got auto-update disabled - I’ve got a Q990C and update it manually (did have a period where mine auto updated to 1010 but have since disabled auto-update) after I’ve scanned for issues on here and a few websites.
r/Soundbars • View on Reddit →Soundbars are definitely the simplest option, but surrounds and subwoofer will still have wires, just power cables instead of speaker wire. If you want easy but full sound, checkout the Nakamichi models; they're big and bulky, and for good reason. Lot of oomph and good midrange. Samsung Q990 is liked a lot around here, but its more for medium to small rooms.
