In an open floorplan the Samsung offerings will sound weak. I returned the Q990, as the bass “tuning” could not handle a similar open floor plan with cathedral ceiling. Could never find a setting for the EQ/surround processing that worked well for everything. Surround effects were great, but this bar does not do well in larger spaces. The Klipsch flexus will be the best of your list….bar has excellent bass by itself, subwoofer is solid and is tuned well for all content types. Also sounds great with music where I found the Samsung lacking warmth….. my tuning preference leans towards Bose products so YMMV. As you noted the Klipsch also can handle a different brand/size sub should you want to upgrade/expand in future….but I DOUBT most people would need to

I also have the flexus core 200, only the soundbar and it sounds really amazing. Even without the sub 100, movies and series sound really good. The soundbar on is own already has enough bass for me. I'm thinking of buying the surr 100 for a complete surround setup, 5.1.2 channel.

I got the flexus 210 from bestbust for 599. Seen them on sale for same price recently. I got the surr 100s for 200. I’ve been blown away by it so far and the sub hits hard when you put it in the right spot. It’s a big upgrade from an older 5.1.2 Vizio model

Ignore looks, prioritize audio Quality. Most people recommend here would Samsung Q990D. I personally own an older model from Samsung and a new Klipsch Flexus Core. I like the sound of the Samsung better than the Klipsch. Bose, LG and JBL are recognized brands, but I haven't seen many people recommend them.

Extensive experience: Q70r (2021) + 9200s (surround). Less than 1 week (as of today) Klipsch Flexus core 200 (soundbar only, nsurround, no subwoofer) So far both show crystal-clear dialogues. I've noticed that the wrong settings (not using 5.1 or Dolby Atmos) mix channels resulting in poor audio not only for dialogue, but for other elements of sound. My two cents.

I have the Core 200+Surr 100+ 2xSub100. I think it's great. Here's a few things you must know: - WiFi interference may create crackling noises in the Subs. This is solved by using a wired connection or placing your Sub away from your router. - No WiFi nor Ethernet connectivity. - No support for DTS. If none of this is an issue for you, then congratulations, you have a great system that sounds great ????????

This is only necessary if you hear some weird noises at specific frequencies. I recommend that you test it first in case you need to buy a cable. In most cases, just relocating the Sub (or the router) will suffice. Edit: my Sub is sitting less than 1/2 meter away from my router. Thus, I had to use a cable. However, the same Sub didn't show any issues when placed 2+ meters away from the router.

Klipsch Flexus Core 200 is the easy choice at that price range. For dialog clarity, get an Appletv4K and turn on the enhanced dialog feature. It works way better than any dialing enhancing feature on a soundbar itself.

I thought that I would be able to also, just assumed it had a spot to plug in a wire, never looked. Didn’t realize that there was no plug until the Flexus came in and I was setting it up. I was quite annoyed to say the least bc they were running a hell or a deal at bestbuy with the Flexus 200 and the sub 100 for like $550 I think, so I would have done that. All worked out though bc it led me to the Speedwoofer and it all sounds amazing.

I purchased the Klipsch Flexus Core Soundbar 200, pair of Subwoofers 100, and surround 100. The sound is amazing once you've ever paired to Soundbar 200, which took some time to get, but I'm a big bass fan, so I'm going to add wired subwoofers beside the rear sofa to feel more bass.

What size is your TV? If you can save up some more the $400 Klipsch Flexus Core 200 is great. Two 4” woofers with good bass. Left, right, center with Tweeter for dialogue clarity. It also has two up firing atmos, that if you have low ceilings like me is so fun to use the sound test with b/c you do look up and right/left. It fits well under my 55” but if I had a 65/77” I’d want something with wide left / wide right. To better affect stereo across the screen.

Sonos arc or flexus core 200. I was in the same boat wanting just a sound bar and went with the beam gen 2. Returned it after a week, vocals are great and direct, but lacks depth, satisfaction. Made me appreciate bass more after that. Sonos arc @$600 is better then the core 200 @$400-$500. If you want to add a sub down the road, Sonos subs are expensive. The core will allow you to add 3rd party subs.

I got the Klipsch Flexus Core 200 with build in subwoofers. By itself it is WAY better than the one I returned (for a defect) that had a subwoofer!! I saw a YouTube TV reviewer stunned by how good it was, so I looked into it. It hits far above its weight class for how much it costs. Check camelcamelcamel for price history to get a sense of what it sells for.

Just tonight that happening is crazy given this post.. After consideration and looking at others, we went with the Klipsch Flexus Core 200 and Sub 100, and honestly i’m blown away by the sound out of the box. Here’s to hoping that the Onkyo electronics last unlike the Cinema line, but it does have a 2 year warranty so it helps at least.

I know your post is 2 months old, but just to add... I do have the S2000, and if your goal is to have better sound, then the S2000 will deliver. It's pretty versatile. I did have the Klipsch Flexus Core 200 (referenced in a separate comment here), but it was too much gun for my situation (or at least, that's my theory). Explosions and orchestral soundtracks sounded amazing, but dialogue was way too low, especially when listening to media in Dolby (5.1 or Atmos). Setting Dialogue Mode to high barely helped, and it came with the unfortunate side effect of messing with other sounds, like trumpets on an orchestral piece. The only way to control this huge discrepancy in dynamic range was to tell my TV to output in PCM, but even then it wasn't enough. I guess if you are trying to have a home theater experience all the time, that's fine, but most of the listening in the living room TV is kids shows/movies on Disney+ (and similar). The Klipsch app was also horrendously slow. The Core 200 does aim for a cinematic experience, and in that regard, it excels. It's also great that you can add any self-powered sub you want. And the addition of upward facing speakers does create immersion. I do think that if my living room was bigger, the big sound would have space to go and would not make the dynamic range sound as extreme as it does. Dialogue has not been an issue with the S2000. I have "voice mode" to off, and have no issues hearing dialogue. There are also options in the Bravia Connect App that allow you to compress the range even further in order to make volume differences less dramatic. This is good when watching TV when the kids are asleep or when you just want to watch TV casually. The sound is not as cinematic as with the Klipsch, and you can't connect your any sub you want (as with the Klipsch). You do get immersion despite the lack of upward firing speakers, but the immersion sounds "processed." You also need to set the bass to "Max", though, as I found that anything below "Max" is too anemic. Once it's dialed in, though, explosions and the like will sound very good. I can't imagine how you can be unhappy with this, especially if you get it at a discount.

The Klipsch 200 or Samsung HW-S60D are your best options in your price range. The Klipsch will run you about $350 (on sale) and the Samsung $280. Klipsch is a 3.1.2 system, Samsung is a 5.0 system. If you need one a little less expensive, I'd go with 1. Sonos Ray 2. Samsung HW-S50B 3. Bose TV Speaker 4. Denon DHT-C210 5. Amazon Fire TV Soundbar Plus. Those five are $250 and below. BONUS!: Yamaha SR-B30A is another very solid option at the same price as the Samsung S60D

I recommend looking at the Klipsch Flexus series, they are about to release the Flexus core 300 next month, the current Flexus Core 200 is what i’m using with the flexus sub 100 and it sounds absolutely awesome, huge sound. There’ll be new subs and surrounds separately with the 300 as well. The cinema series has known issues that may take place within 3 years or so and Klipsch did officially recognize that. Just my 2 cents after having been over this topic a while now from the post.

With the q930 you get physical surrounds and a seperate subwoofer unit, this just smokes arc ultra on its own or sony bar 8 or flexus core 200. If you were planning on adding more surrounds etc on the others then you could have an actual comparison. But if you just buy a bar and compare it to the full kit of the q930D, the Q930D just smokes them

Ah, yup that’s the setup i’m running. 200 is 3.1.2, got a driver config like in this image: https://preview.redd.it/pnpxtdr9m3re1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54d6dab8e8d9029755ab8f015e507651379afb2b Good to hear you’re enjoying the new one, be sure to get the klipsch connect plus app to get more controls by the way. It depends on your room of course, but for my room I like the sub volume (not bass, sub volume adjust in the app) just a nudge higher at +1, bass + 2 for most music, and in movie mode the majority of the time. Stage/imaging really improves in movie mode, whether you like this song or not the first few seconds of Wildflower by Billie Eilish with the beginning foot steps in movie mode shows it can really reach out far to the side. If you got some song recommendations that sound really good on this though i’ll check them out too.
