If you're willing to pay the price Hest makes some exceptional foam camping mattresses with durable, washable covers that let you roll them up relatively well. No queen size but you can get some of their larger single person mattresses and connect them with the integrated low profile clips to make a queen size mattress.

If you’re not backpacking and can accommodate the space to bring it with you, I highly recommend a Hest mattress. It’s the most comfortable mattress/pad I’ve found.

My spouse and I use two hest foamy wides on a Coleman queen cot, replacing the queen air mattress. They fit in the sleeve for the air mattress which helps secure the slight overhang from the frame of the cot. We are adding some thicker yoga mats underneath them to reduce the dip in the middle, but I've never had a better night sleep while car camping, and I've tried them all. I broke my back years ago, and this setup has restored my willingness to camp more often. Win/win.

We've been using hest foamy pads for two years now. We dont camp in hot (overnight highs above the 70s) areas. We visit those places when its cooler. At those temps a sheet or light blanket is fine. We do camp in winter (below freezing) conditions. So far the lowest we've encountered with them has been the upper 20s. With fleece sheets, down quilts, and a wind & water resistant synthetic insulated shell (as needed), its been comfy. The hest does firm up slightly when cooler, but my body heat (which my bedding traps) softens the foam sufficiently. I broke my back years ago, and this is the best sleep I've gotten camping. I've taken regular memory foam pillows camping that have gotten rock hard in cold temps, so I'm not sure what material hest is using to minimize the hardening. It could just be the heat retention by my blankets. For me, 100% worth it. They are bulky.

I built my own platform that is half as wide as the one in the pic, and bought a Hest sleeping pad on sale at REI. The pad is super high quality. I’m a side sleeper and it doesn’t bottom out. I car camp for rowing regattas and also with my friends while they sleep in a tent. But, for $995, I’d say get the one you show! But, go with a Hest.

I went with Hest. Not cheap by any means, but I like my sleep and being comfortable and it fits the bill.

I use a HEST Foamy long twin foam roller pad. It’s pricey but well worth it. I put it on top of my cot, combined with a good blanket and my co tour pillow and I’m good to go for a base camping bed!

Man, this is interesting. I like the HEST because it’s so quick to set up, but find it much less comfortable than an air pad.

I think they have a 100 day trial policy.

LOVE my Hest Foamy mat……it’s freaking huge to pack and they’re expensive but totally worth, in my opinion. I sleep fantastic when I use it and have done a couple long trips with it now.

Definitely Hest for an every day long term sleeping system. Super comfortable and quick setup. No air to mess with daily.

Exped MegaMat 15 LXW or the Hest foamy are the most comfortable by far on the market. They are expensive though. The MegaMat 10 is a bit less expensive but not as thick. You can look at some of the Exped clones though and they are quite comfortable. They are usually 50% off or so. Just make sure to bring a portable air pump like a FlexTail Gear or Exped air pump to test in the store. Just be careful as there are NO returns and your warranty from Exped might also be denied if they can determine it was a ReSupply purchase. They usually tell if it is a ReSupply purchase because REI likes to take a silver Sharpie and put an X mark on the product. If the X is on the outside stuff sack then your are ok, it they put it on the actual mat you consider the warranty void with Exped. If they put an X on the stuff sack then just don't send the stuff sack into Exped if you ever have a warranty claim.

Hest mattress is most comfortable thing I have ever slept on

Hest. They aren't cheap - they take up space, but man are they comfortable. You can throw two together and it's literally like sleeping in your bed at home. I bought one of their comforters as well and is that thing nice. Never a fan of sleeping bags but their comforter did the trick.

I found the hest foamy to be awesome in every aspect except for its size. Rolled up it takes up an insane amount of room inside. Swapped back to a Neo air instead.
