Roborock - Qrevo Curv Series

I found the obstacle avoidance on the Qrevo series to be pretty disappointing. Switched to Dreame L40 and have been very happy. They almost never grab a cord.

Roborock Qrevo CurvX. Had the Edge S5A for a few weeks I got from Prime day sale, but felt like I should�ve went with one with better threshold clearance and obstacle avoidance. Also getting 10% off on top of the sale price makes it seem perfect for price and features.

My Roborock Qrevo Curv is doing a fab job in my house. My dog sheds like crazy and I also have long hair. Plus we have carpets everywhere.

Nvm found it, Yeah I see the Curve S5X only negative thing is that it has Reactive Tech and that obstacle avoidance is even worse than my older S8 :/

I just added the Qrevo CurvX and couldnt be happier with its performance. I have hardwood on the 1st floor, a lab that sheds like crazy and even my wife is impressed with its mopping ability. Adding 2 more for the other floors. The App can be a little clunky in setting up, but I also blew the intro, and made 0 effort to search for help and just tried to figure it out on my own

Do you actually own the saros 10r or the curv x? If so, how much of a difference in obstacle avoidance is there really? I have watched every video out there on both of them and it seems like every reviewer comes up with vastly different conclusions. One says they vacuum very well, others report, at least with the 10r, some of the worst carpet vacuuming imaginable, way behind drastically cheaper and older bots. For my use, obstacle avoidance is huge. I have an original q revo, but it doesn't get ran nearly as much as it should because I can't set it on a schedule. Unless I do a full sweep of the house to pick up all of the kids toys, shoes, cords etc it will inevitably get stuck on something rendering it useless until I get home to clear the blockage. Kind of defeats the purpose.

I got the CurvX, loved it but its charging contact plate chipped so it stopped being able to recognize the dock or charge. Not sure what happened. Now eying the 10R

I'm not sure what is actively considered a top vacuum but something I've learned the hard way is to make sure the robot has a setting to empty the dustbin periodically or else it will go through a whole run, then try to empty the dustbin and the charging station will get clogged trying to suck the large clump of hair into the dust bag. I have a qrevo and really love the robot but the fact roborock doesn't currently have an option to empty the dustbin every 100 sqft or so, means that I have had to set up separate schedules for each room so it goes back to the dock to empty the dustbin between each room. It's frustrating.

Q revo. Which.... give the stats table might not make sense, but its the most reliable of the three, which i've tested.

The best robots I've had so far are the Roborock Qrevo Curv and Qrevo Curvx that I use on a daily basis. Roborock is just consistently good and they are my default brand now. The curvx got off to a rough start that required a reset and two remaps but it finally got it together. I had a Dreame X50 Ultra that died on day two and a Aqua10 Ultra Roller that was beyond terrible with tons of issues and their support was horrid so I won't be inclined to try them again. I had a eufy x10 omni pro and it was okay until it wasn't and right after that I tried a Samsung Bespoke jet bot ai and it went crazy on its first cleaning run and died in the hallway. I also had a shark matrix and it was okay until it went crazy spinning against the couch in the living room.

Dude if you want something reliable that just does the job then just go for a roborock qrevo edge or a qrevo curv. They are roughly the same robot, easy to use, no fuss and more importantly, stable robot and app. They have everything your asking for, dont cost the absolute earth, and just work.

I just replaced a Roborock S4 which I have been using since 2019, with a Roborock Qrevo Curvx. Man, what an upgrade! The S4 was still running fine, but I wanted something with a mopping function. Ran it yesterday, and the new Curvx did an amazing job. I was really impressed by the amount of new features which can be found in these robo Vacuums now. I believe the added cost for the high end models are worth it� as they have functions that lower cost models will not.

The individual test methodologies are good, but it�s segmented so it�s not really representative of a full circuit �clean my home� test. And they don�t test repeatability - e.g. living with the robot over a week or two to see how it does in practice with a constantly changing environment. As a Curv owner, I will say I have been very impressed with the unit. Impossible for me to tell whether I�m missing out, but I am approaching 2 months of just letting it do its thing, with no issues once the no go zones were set. I wake up to a clean home, mopped 3x a week, with no missed spots. After the inevitable first few days of ownership where I looked at the app religiously to see what the robot did, it has been set and forget. Just need to dump the dirty water tank and refill the clean tank once a week.

Yes, absolutely! I have a self emptying, self cleaning robot mop and vacuum from Roborock and it is SO worth it IMO. I�ve had cheap, middle range and expensive and the only one I use is the one that self cleans etc. It is worth it, I think.

I think most people in this subreddit would agree that the key things in a robot vacuum are solid hard-floor cleaning, reliable pet-hair pickup, and predictable navigation. In my experience, the Roborock CurvX and Dreame L40 Ultra handle edges, thresholds, and obstacles well and don�t need much babysitting. For multi-floor or pet homes, they�re just much less frustrating day-to-day than most other models. for someone with more specific needs, [this comparison table](https://technoranks.com/compare-products/?compareids=2392,1907) might help.

In my experience Roborock is the more reliable brand. Recently I've had a Dreame x50 ultra and aqua10 ultra roller and they had terrible performance, the x50 died on day 2 and the aqua couldn't even navigate my dining room or follow the schedule among other things. Dark colored rugs and mats trip up the Dreame sensors causing them to error. Battery life is an issue on the newest brushless Dreame models. Do you have any thresholds that the robot would be required to cross? Most robots can cross from hard flooring to carpet and back without issue. Thresholds that are taller than 1" can trip them up if they don't have the ability to lift their chassis. Tiered thresholds can only be crossed by this type of robot. If you have ramps only the Dreame app will let you mark it on the map. I've seen people create a ramp in the Roborock app by setting invisible barriers to create a path to it. IMHO the Roborock app is miles ahead of everyone else even though it lacks ramps and the ability to rotate the map. Currently I have a qrevo curv and qrevo curvx and they are the best robots I've ever had. I run them daily splitting the house between them. Research whatever model you decide to get so you understand the maintenance required for it. Good luck with whichever one you choose.

Check out the youtube channel Vacuum Wars, he does a ton of comparisons and yearly roundups. I have one of the more recent Roborock ones where the roller on the bottom is split in the middle, and hair rolls inward (they call it DuoDivide). I have found it to do a good job of not tangling due to the way it's designed and it has worked great for me, though the thing definitely wasn't cheap. That being said, I wouldn't call almost any electronic device BIFL, especially ones with a lot of moving parts.

Agreed. I watch his vids and he does a thorough job of testing and showing all the results. I bought the Roborock Qrevo Curv last year and it's been great.

Also owning an OG QRevo. The mop cleaning is noisy enough through doors and we have a decent difference in floor height between rooms that always takes it a few attempts to lift itself over. Not mentioning emptying the bin at the end of a cycle. It�s a decent machine. Will continue to use it till it breaks down permanently (wasn�t an inexpensive purchase for us).

I've had a number of dreams, all gone back. I have a Rrock Curv. V good vac performance hopeless obstacle avoidance - eg cables just runs right over. I also have E28. See my quick review. App less polished, obstacle avoidance v good. Mopping on all - one has to have realistic expectations

I'm on my second roborock, a Qrevo C. Had an S5 Max with a battery that wasn't holding charge well. It is over 3 years old. My first robot was an Ecovacs. Had pretty much constant errors, when I picked it up to clean sensors it wanted to remap again. I sent it for service, got it back 2 weeks later and it was worse. Got one minute off the dock, complained of dirty sensors, picked it up to clean it, started remapping again. I returned it, was only 4 months old. Just junk! Been with roborock since and the model I have now is amazing. I'll never change. Their app is far superior to what I had with Ecovacs, especially for map editing. I can't comment on the Dreame.

The Qrevo Curv is solid for your needs - great anti-tangle brush and excellent mopping with the extendable mop arm for edges. That deal does sound pretty good actually.

Our Roborock Qrevo vacuum/mop is still going strong after years and the pet hair don't faze it at all. I only ever heard bad things about iRobot and Shark

I \_just\_ moved from Roomba (i7+) to Roborock (Qrevo CurvX) a couple weeks ago and still have two i7+'s running (or trying to run) on the other levels of my home. In almost every way, the Roborock makes the Roomba feel like it's a hundred years old. In other ways, likely related to stupid patents, the Roomba is better. \* The Roomba empties the bin whenever it's full. Gotta play settings games in Roborock and hope it gets it right. \* The roomba will back up and re-vacuum and area where it detects more dirt. This will also be reflected in the map after a run, which matters not at all except to give you a sense of "yeah, I did see a mess there. So it's working." \* I can save "zones" to clean in rather than set them up every time or make them part of a routine. This is such an oversight that I have to believe it's also patent-related.

I have a Q Revo and it does an ok job but yeah it's not up to the level of a mop, or even a hard floor cleaner. And these things are also ridiculously expensive to buy the latest and greatest. It does a fine job running daily to keep the floors clean, cleaner than just a vacuum. But I have a very drooly dog that leaves spots on the floor and it won't scrub those up, I have to break out a floor cleaner for that. It does better than my old roomba though, it almost never gets caught on or tangled in anything and mostly drives around any obstacles fine. Was it worth it? Probably not for the price I paid. Right now though you can get a Q Revo for $479 which I think would be worth it. So I maybe might advise buying the last gen at a discount rather than the latest and greatest and still plan on having to manually clean from time to time. Really depends on your needs of course, if you are a clean person living alone then you might rarely have spots that the robot won't get.

I am torn between your Roborock CurvX ($899) recommendation and the Roborock Edge ($949), so not a significant difference in cost. The docking station on the CurvX is absurdly huge (and looks like cheap plastic). My layout requires me to place the dock on visible areas. Coming from another Roborock S model that had never been an issue. Are the extra features and performance of the CurvX that much better than the Edge? Power suction is already high on the Edge, I only see the retractable lidar as a difference, is there anything else?

I've noticed that mine struggles underneath the dining table and doesn't handle the chair legs very well. It wastes a lot of time bumbling around them while my Roborock Qrevo Curv zips around them and moves on. The battery life on mine is okay if I turn off 2nd cleaning otherwise it will kill it mid schedule and it won't be able to start the next task. The mop wash takes too long and consumes too much water. Mine uses more resources washing the mop than it does cleaning the floor. At this point I wish that I'd just bought another Roborock spinner and I still might send this one back.
