I have a three monitor ThinkPad/ThinkVision USB-C setup that is powered by a single small 65W AC block. The monitors do power passthrough, so the power goes into the first monitor and then the laptop is powered off that. It goes: USB C AC -> Monitor 1 -> Laptop -> Monitor 2 https://imgur.com/BBqEIly It's *really* nice that the whole thing runs off one USB-C AC adapter.

I do not recommend the asus screens with "go" in them. the inbuilt battery will not be charged by the laptop while in use I use a mix of Lenovo m14d and m15 as i wanted something lightweight

I've got a work from car setup that I use when on the road, I've got a fold up table that rests on the arm rests in the centre and on the door. Then I have a portable monitor like this with a hard stand that's strong enough to hook the monitor upside down on the top of the steering wheel. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CQ8R3SZ With the steering and chair adjustment, I can get it comfy with either a small Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with the portable monitor in a decently ergonomic position, or put a laptop on the table to have a dual vertical monitor setup. Add in a decently sized powerbank (monitor has passthrough power but otherwise a dongle of some sort) and you're sorted for a day.

You should search for an USB-C Monitor with Power passthrough both ways. So you only need 2 USB-Cables (one can be very short), the monitor and the phone. You connect the power source to the USB-C monitor, may it be a powerbank or a power adapter. Then you connect the monitor (by the monitors other USB-C Port) with the short USB-C cable to the phone and that's it. This way your phone gets even charged while using DEX. These monitors can be somewhat hard to find. They need two USB-C ports (and nothing more). You need to read the description of the monitor carefully. The monitor must be able to power the phone, not only the other way round. I'm using a Lenovo M15 portable USBC monitor. It's relativly cheap and light. I have the same one and it's incredible. I love that it only needs a usb cable and it's ready to go.

This is what I use too. My wife sometimes uses mine as well. Yes, get an external mouse.

Not sure they were ever seen as a gimmick. Ive used Lenovo Think vision for over four years now. Light is a feather and goes right next to my laptop in my backpack when I travel. I use it every day when Im on the road and out of my home office.

I have a thinkvision from my last job. Super thin and the perfect sized travel monitor. I rarely use it though for the same reason you mentioned. It only gets pulled out of my bag if something is urgent and itd be quicker with multiple monitors

I use a [Lenovo ThinkVision](https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/p/accessories-and-software/monitors/office/61dduar6us?orgRef=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F&srsltid=AfmBOoq3ETpQis3HANie1jTKtJ1RKaqeDWMEpEjFuXzv5EjtrcLRx6nK) \- it works great and it's light and thin which makes it super portable. Really good for working out of my hotel at conferences and other travel. I also use a wireless mouse (generally; not just for travel). I really like the [Logitech MX Anywhere line](https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/mx-anywhere-3s.910-006926.html?srsltid=AfmBOooZNOok2D0JnX40Jr5JBkf_y2HaZ6v6ZgoSNRbyrL8oG-amG5DT) but there are of course cheaper alternatives.

I use a portable monitor from [Lenovo](https://a.co/d/6D1J9UO). Its on the spendy side (almost at your budget). But Ive had it for almost 3 years now and its never given me any problems.

what i use : [https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessories-and-software/monitors/office/62cauar1us](https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/accessories-and-software/monitors/office/62cauar1us) got it a few years ago and it has held up like a tank. the only downside is that it is 1080. if buying one today i would go for the 1440p or 4k. edit: i just noticed that i linked to the non-touchscreen version i have the touch screen version so i dont need to pack a keyboard or mouse, ( i have a mini pc & mac mini that i use often with the touchscreen for simple vjing gigs )
