Diggin my Bose Soundlink. Thin for portability. The bass isn't mind blowing but I was surprised for the size. Sounds great.

I do. for me. so I'm the guy who rarely listens to music around others. I don't like listening to others music especially out side, at a park or beach for example. so I don't listen to my music loud out of consideration. this little bose unit sounds great to just chill with on the back porch, not loud enough for the neighbors to hear but it's able to reproduce great sound at moderate levels. I like this flatter form over the round speakers, it will pack better. if it packs better the chance is higher it will go more places with me.

Yes. I can hear the bass at low volumes. All frequencies are well produced.

Why only 3 options? I'm a fan of the bose flex 2 currently. Its very portable, its durable, has good bass, gets loud and you can link two of them to run in stereo which sounds way better and louder than a single speaker.

I got this deal on the Bose flex last time they had it and I'm really happy with the speaker. Overall I prefer the Bose sound profile to the JBL. That being said JBL has a great speaker and I use them for parties where I might want louder sound. For personal use at 50-70% volume and I'm within 20ft of the speaker the Bose is great. My preferred orientation is facing up on a counter. I listen to everything but country with emphasis on metal and electronic generas. Some old skool hip hop too. Battery life and loudness aren't going to be as good as the JBL, but I got it for the sound profile which I'm more happy with. OH - and the costco version of the Bose doesn't have a microphone so you can't use it to make calls.

Totally agree - and that fact isn't readily apparent either! Considering it's shortfalls in loudness and battery life Bose needs additional features to stay competitive considering it's cost. On paper the Bose is a dog! It's a simple single speaker/radiator setup which is antiquated now. The only leg the Bose has to stand on is it's sound profile. Now this works for me personally but $100 is still $100 and I would have been happier had I gotten the microphone (which is likely in there, just disabled in software).

SR2 is amazing, sounds so musical and crisp. Second to none. Bose Flex 2nd, amazing bass and warm tone, but not very loud, I think they made effort to be distortion free, so it's bassy and clear but can't get really really loud. 3rd place is the Wonderboom 4, omg, this little F is punchy and loud, you can feel the bass and did I say loud? This is like waking up neighborhood loud! Only season it's behind SR2 and Bose is because both are more musical and realistic then the WB4, if you are into any kind of remix, dance, EDM, and mainly use it at party then WB4 is #1.... Mostly disappointing premium speaker is the Homepod Mini 2, gorgeous design and build, not very loud, sound pretty good, no as good as Sonos, not as loud as Sonos, not even close to WB4 in loudness. Had to return the Apple Homepod Mini 2 after 1 night. I am loving my new Sonos Roam 1, got it new for $80!!

Uboom X, it now on sale for only 92 dolar. Its a great speaker. Especially for this price. If you like deep bass, good mids and highs this is a great pick. Fast charging trough ucb c. Powerbank for your phone. Great eq possibilities. Loud sound with deep bass. Ip67. Pair it till 50 speakers. Aux in. The bose soundlink flex 2 is a great speaker. Portable, good deep sound. It will sound a lot bigger than it is. Ip67. Usb c charging. Great build quality. 3 band eq trough the bose app. Durable rock solid design. Fantastic color options.

Bose soundlink flex 2 has great bass for on the go. Especially for it's size. If you play with the eq in the bose app and put it in the corner. It sounds way bigger that it's size. Earfun Uboom X is also great. Its larger but almost the same price as the bose. The bass on it is fantastic. Devialet Mania is an wonderful sounding speaker. Big bass, great highs, and a big price haha ?? Jbl flip 7 or charge 6 are great for outdoor usage.

You thanks for your responses Ive tested the flex gen 2 in stores and loved the sound but after prolonged listening the treble started to be harsh and agressive Then i tweaked the eq lowered down the highs but its the speaker itself that is faulty Idk i think you can find an Bluetooth speaker with smooth and pleasant treble but they are expensive like the beosound explore ==> 180 Euros

I got bose flex (1st gen) , pretty good. Just bought a Marshall acton iii, and the bose is no shame at all compared to that. Of course Marshall fills the room with and of course goes 10-20 Hz lower, so you can distinguish drum kicks better in rock music for example. So still like the Bose Flex as portable Bt speaker.

I tried several models during my search - Bose SL Flex (1 Gen), UE Hyperboom 4 and B&O Explore. The Bose by far sounded the best (out of the box - theres no EQ) then the others (with EQ). I believe the 1st Gen can get a bit lower bass than Gen 2. If you can get a refurbished gen 1 direct from Bose its a pretty good price! If you get a pair Im sure it will sound even better. I enjoy EDM and beats that have a bit more thump. Obviously the low, lows wont produce in this size of speaker but the mid thumps are definitely there. For the size, the Bose (IMO) is the best sounding.

I find it hard to say bad things about one or the other. I've always liked the neutrality, spaciousness and lack of distortion of the UE Boom 2. The Bose SoundLink Flex is characterized by a very rich sound, including the bass (which in my opinion should be lowered a notch in the equalizer as already mentioned in a previous comment). Still, listening to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" on it for example is pure joy, even at high volume...It almost feels like you have hi-fi speakers in the room, it's very impressive compared to the size of the speaker. Its main fault is its very weak autonomy, we end up using it almost always plugged in but what a sound! Very pleasant (but the EU was far from unpleasant but only more neutral, therefore less flattering) That's basically my opinion ??

You never specify a size, you only say Bluetooth speaker. Along these lines, JBL Boombox 3 should be in the comparison, and if you really mean THE BEST, an actual HiFi system that coincidentally has Bluetooth support is definitely better than the SoundLink Flex. Also, you seemed to be disregarding the role DSP plays in modern portable speakers. I've been making a few DIY speakers myself with the BP1048B2 DSP chip and it's ACP Workbench tool, and when you get this kind of control over signal processing, you can nearly compensate for all peaks and troughs on the frequency response graph digitally, but you can't make the drivers perform better on transient response or improve directionality performance for a specific use case. That's some of what's missing from you claiming about how good these speakers are by just referring to a frequency response graph. Again, I understand that you really like their performance from 500Hz and above, and I don't disagree with you, but we don't buy a portable Bluetooth speaker to use it just as the satellite speakers of a 2.1 system, not that you can do that with Bose anyway.

I also owned both and returned the X600 after using both for 30 days indoor and outdoor. My EARS and those of my guests are the basis. X600 needs tweaking when genre changes - not consistent in SQ. No need to tweak on the sound link, sounds great at all volumes

The Bose SL Plus will likely be a solid fit for you as Bose has a pretty balanced sound, out of the box. Not sure if youre looking for indoor v outdoor but you might look into getting two SL Flex and setting them up in stereo mode. They sound incredible.

If you would trust the frequency response graph so much, what about the +6dB crest at 150Hz and -6dB troughs at 100 and 80Hz, and the bass roll-off below 62Hz? I'm measuring from the brighter sloped blue line btw, to minimize the deltas, but +-6dB is a huge range, and that's before you accommodate the THD+N. +3dB is double the loudness, +6dB is quadruple, and all these are very sudden changes thus quite perceivable to the human ear. This is definitely not THE best Bluetooth speaker by any stretch of the imagination.

Bro motion 300 doesn't come close to Flip 6 in the terms of clarity, instrument separation and bass, but still jbl is a little bit harsh. My first Bluetooth speaker was tribit stormbox micro 2, a bit smaller than average portable speakers and I love it's sound profile it was best to my ears. Later on I tried tribit sound plus, JBL flip 6, motion 300, and currently I'm having Bose SoundLink flex Gen 2. Bose is not everyone it doesn't have a bright sound. And the soundstage is narrow but still somehow it's favorite to Many. I didn't try tribit stormbox flow but I heard it has same sound profile as tribit stormbox micro 2. Tribit sound plus is also called audiophile level speaker so you can try sound plus 2. Motion 300 bass some time so bad that unbearable.

Very happy with the UE Boom 2 for 10 years but replaced by the Bose SoundLink Flex 2 which delivers very pleasant sound (if you lower the bass a notch with the 3-band equalizer) and a small Xiaomi Sound Pocket 5w for less than 20, very satisfactory for my electric scooter ??

I found myself the Bose Soundlink Max the best in terms of sound quality. If too expensive, then a Bose Flex Soundlink, the small one sounds powerfull and amazing, even outdoors for small parties and its only about 100 bucks and the beauty of it is that they can be paired in twos so it gives an wide stereo effect, still cheaper then a Max.

Bose SL Flex 2 is a great unit, especially at the price point. B&O lower end models are unfortunately lacking in the bass department but their directivity is damn good. Personally the UE models werent all that great. I appreciate a better range versus directivity which is why I went with the Bose. For the size, I would say the Bose has the deepest bass for the size while handling mids and treble well. I tried: UE Megaboom 4, B&O Explore, Bose SL Flex
