Terrible options. The select 4 go is not loud and both that and the 3 have poor bass you won't be able to feel

I've had speakers which claim to be 10-30 watts, and by far none of those have compared to 2, 5 watt speakers I've owned, one being a "ProOne PSB4315 SK12", and the other a "soundcore select go 4", point is; power rating rarely indicates the quality, unless it's a good 5-10x the power

I avoid click-bait titles, but having spent a lot of time with the newer Clip 5 and Go 4 from JBL, I was honestly shocked by how well the Select 4 Go performs comparatively, given its $29 price point. Build quality falls a little short of JBL, and the multi-speaker pairing isn't quite as extensive, but still - I've tested a fair amount of speakers, and I'd have a hard time recommending something else for a budget-focused buyer looking for something like the Go 4.

I traveled with the flip 6 the last years, but at the trips, it always seemed to big for the luggage / in the bags. I really like the Stormbox micro 2 design wise, even more since it can be used as a powerbank, but I got the soundcore select 4 go and I really like it (not the tribit mostly cause of its price, not that I couldn’t afford, but I don’t like to spend that much on a small speaker??). I wished the soundcore had the powerbank function too, but it’s half the price and at that difference, I’m not really willing to get the tribit instead?? and it is a really great deal for its price. It is loud as a personal speaker and with fitting equalizer settings in the soundcore app it sounds way bigger ( in its thump) at moderate volumes where I’m listening. Of course not meant for party, but still fitting for a little gathering or so, or when working some where else. For example, I was fixing my bike 3 days ago and hung it close by at ~ 30 % volume and it was nice background music and still easily hearable. If you don’t care about bass and it’s just about volume, I don’t think either of the small will do bad, cause all get loud, but if it’s about party bass for multiple peeps or yourself, you will need a physically BIG speaker

Well, considering decibel, 60 db at 1m distance is really quiet for what I consider a usable speaker. If measured the same way. I think most portables I know are in the range of a maximum of 83-90. This is cause 10db jump equals roundabout a doubling of the felt loudness. So 10 more is much (so, ~20db more at ~80 is waay louder) Are you planning to have your speaker outside of the shower? And a bit far away? Cause I would even consider my phone to be loud enough to use while lying next to my shower, so I would say get a good small one like soundcore select 4 go, that’s noticeably louder and thumpier than my phone, can be tweaked over the in app eq to your liking and is waterresitant so it could be placed next to you in the shower. If that’s not enough, i would choose a speaker with a 2-way setting (mid-woofer + tweeter) for more highs like the Sony ult field 1 oder Jbl flip 6. if it’s just for podcasts, I wouldnt go bigger than that cause i guess that mostly means just more bass, which might even be contraproductive since it might make it harder to understand vocals / speech.

If you need something that portable, it's about as good as it gets. There are a few competing models of a similar size that make slightly different tradeoffs, like the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2, the Soundcore Select 4 Go, or the JLab Pop Party, but ultimately nothing that's fundamentally better, especially in areas that small speakers always struggle with, like bass response or volume.  If you're tight on budget, but flexible on size, you've got some interesting options like the Sony SRS-XB100, the Soundcore 3, or the JLab Go Party. Although the Go 4 is still a credible choice, especially if clear sound is more important to your than big sound.

In terms of Sound Quality The Soundcore X600 probably wins on this list but it's not portable. The Soundcore Go 4 is the best mini (pocketable) speaker The Bose Soundlink Flex 2 is the best Compact Speaker The Soundcore Motion + can make a great stereo Pair (if you buy two of them and an honourable mention goes to the JBL Flip 7) . My Personal Pick is the Soundcore X600 just because it has the "surround sound" feature. It works very well for my untrained ears. Anyways just buy one and use it for a week so you can determine what you think you need it for since you're so undecided, then return it for one that meets your needs.

The only thing with a smaller footprint that is still considered premium is probably the Bose micro. Another no brainer is the soundcore go 4. Not as good as the Bose but close enough but the bonus is it's dirt cheap and two paired in stereo to me at least sounds nicer than my uboomL and motion 300.

I also uggest adding in the B&O A1 Gen. 2, which can be had for around $150 these days. I have a pair, and they're my go-to travel companions. They're a bit bigger than most pockets, though...unless you're into dad-style cargo shorts. I have the Select 4 Go and a pair of Stormbox Micro 2s that are damned good, so I think all of your choices are going to be okay.

C2d8 is spot on, especially since most BT speakers also include an EQ, where you can reduce bass frequencies and boost mids and treble. I'd also include the Soundcore Select 4 Go. I picked up a pair of Amazon for $19/each. The EQ they have would allow you to kill all bass and mid-bass, if that's what you wanted.

Considering you can get a Soundcore Select 4 Go for $20 (NEW), you'd miss out on a speaker with better sound quality and more volume than the JBL Go 4. The Soundcore Select 4 Go also has longer battery life. If it's available, you should check them out.

I picked up my 4 Go from Amazon on a recent sale (Feb) for $19 in the purple and gold colourway. It's a groovy-looking little speaker, with impressive sound for its size and cost. I may buy another one just to see how they compare paired versus my pair of Storm Box Micro 2s. Basically, I can get a pair of 4 Gos for the price of one Stormbox Micro 2.

I have both the Soundcore Select 4 go and the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2. If you need something louder(it’s really loud) with a bit better sound quality, the Stormbox Micro 2 is your best bet. I bought the Soundcore Select 4(TikTok shop for $10) and really like it. It gets decently loud and can fill up a quiet room to a good extent. The build quality is really nice and the water resistance works perfectly. I fully submerged it and it was fine(floats too). If you’re looking for something not too fancy then this is a good choice. Check out [speaker rankings](https://www.speakerranking.com/pocket-size/). It has more info than you will need.

Smaller and lighter than the Stormbox Micro 2 (I own a pair) isn't going to happen if you want anything approaching "listenable" sound. The JBL Go 4 is just "okay," but I think the Soundcore Select 4 Go is much better sounding (I also own one) for less cost.

If you want something roughly the same price and size but with better performance then Motion 100 fits the bill . I have one and it's great also coming from an Xsoundgo i'd say it has more clarity and has app support . I also have the Motion 300 which is a fair bit larger and sounds even bassier but not twice as good as the 100 .

yeah i think the Anker Soundcore Select 4 Go is the way to go. start with one and add a second if you want stereo sound. the battery life alone makes it the better pick for most people compared to the JBL. That said, if you want the absolute smallest package possible, the JBL Go 4 is the one to pick.

OK. So around $60 U.S. is your budget. The Critic's recommendation is pretty solid. There's really no "best" version of any speaker at that price, and you've got a lot of choices. You could also pick up two Soundcore Select 4 Go speakers if they're available and stay under budget. Paired, they put out really good sound for their size, and provide decent stereo separation. I have a pair, and like them...

Regarding the items at Costco, the Bose Flex is likely the best sounding item. Soundcore's sound is of similar sound quality to JBL and Sony. The small Select 4 speakers do sound good. I think Costco is also selling the Boom 2 by Soundcore. I heard this item at Walmart. It is a good sounding baby boom box.

Anything smaller than the select 4 go is going to sound like a loud cellphone. I think it will fit in most pockets and definitely cargo shorts. Price is great on these (pair of them for $40 @costco) I just got some on Soundpeats pearldrop (on-ear buds) for personal listening because my ears hate having stuff shoved in them. They sound pretty good and are very comfortable.
