Dual or concentric hose models are the best bet. Inverter is good for noise. I have a midea inverter, with concentric hose that is great
r/DIY • Portable Air Conditioner ->Get a 2 hose portable or a Midea with it's 2 in 1 hose system. 1 hose models are sold in America 'because installing 2 hoses is too hard for that market to figure out'. They are the single dumbest invention in the history of inventions, blowing out the very air you are trying to cool. Buy an inverter model, and just spend the money on the Midea.
r/AirConditioners • Portable Air Conditioner Recommendations ->We have the big Midea portable oval hose heat pump and love it. But we live in a moist climate so we installed it on a box and put a condensate pump inside the box. It heats down to -5C so we subsidize an old furnace. It will be replaced by a mini-split next year.
r/AirConditioners • Need your recommendations to find the right portable AC unit. ->I got this same unit for the same price, but mine has this constant rattle sound. Does anyone have any experience with this and have a way to fix it? I'd rather not return it because frankly it was a huge pain in the ass to get home.
r/AirConditioners • Midea portable AC at Costco $350, is it good? ->You’re not doing anything wrong..portable ACs are mold traps by design. Sitting all winter with leftover moisture = fungus party. Run it on fan mode before storage to dry it out. As for brands, try Whynter or Midea dual-hose. They’re slightly easier to clean. Or go mini split and never look back.
r/AirConditioners • Portable AC units that don't mold or are easy to clean? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

Got the same one from costco and makes gaming in my upstairs office cool during the hottest days of summer! And no water drain!!!
r/AirConditioners • Next generation Portable AC units are pretty awesome ->350? Shit this unit was like 450 at my Costco. Returned for a swamp cooler, its colorado so swamp cooler works wonders.
r/AirConditioners • Midea portable AC at Costco $350, is it good? ->I just bought one ironically. I have a 3-car garage that faces the afternoon sun. Bought a 12000BTU AC from Costco and it can’t really keep up, but does a good enough job bringing it down to around 82f. The problem is that it’s drawing 14A and I have only one circuit to my garage so bigger is not an option without doing some electrical work
r/orlando • Anyone have a portable AC in their garage? ->You're very welcome, and I don't mind at all. We've got 2 of the Midea duo, model MAP14, 14000 btu units.( The actual working btu, called SACC btu are 12000) they are dual hose units, but use a hose in hose design, so not as clunky as 2 separate hoses. Also they have inverter compressors, so they can slow the compressor down to save energy when just maintaining temperature, instead of just off and on like regular compressors, it makes for less temperature swings between cycles as well. The important thing is, whatever brand you choose, it needs to be dual hose. The single hose models we've tried in the past caused so much negative pressure in the house that the humidity went sky high, along with the electric bill, and they didn't cool very well. (Most single hose units the SACC btu are around half of the listed regular btu, due to all the losses from negative pressure). The 2 duo models cool our entire 1000 square foot house, and are pretty energy efficient, better than some of the cheaper window units (some, not all, it is possible to get window units with higher efficiency). Dual hose with an inverter compressor is the best you can do for performance and efficiency, short of getting an inverter window unit. I beleive you can get the same model from Midea branded by Toshiba, and one of the Whynter models, just look for the big oval hose in hose exhaust, instead of the 2 small round hoses. There are a couple versions, some with heat pump feature. We didn't get the version with heat, as our house has electric heat and wood heat already, and the heat pump feature only works down to 40 degrees, so we didn't consider it useful enough for the extra price. Also, possibly not useful information, but we are happier with our portables than the window units they replaced. We went to window units after being dissapointed with single hose portables, and were never quite happy with them. Too much trouble to take in and out of the windows, heavy to lift and carry, have to get the tilt right or they leak, crummy accordion side panels that let in bugs and drafts unless you tape over them, the outside part gets full of dirt and crud over time, and they sometimes get mold or mildew in them, especially if the back has got dirty and hasn't been hosed out. All around total pain. Much easier to wheel a portable out of the closet and have it set up in 5 minutes, then at the end of the summer have it removed in 5 minutes, drain the unit from the rear plug, and wheel it back to the closet.
r/AirConditioners • Question about foam on windows for portable air conditioners ->Check Slickdeals, I recently bought a refurbished 12000BTU Midea for $200. I live in California, currently 95F, and for an uninsulated garage of that size, you'd want at least a 12000BTU Midea if not the 14000BTU. There's currently a 18500BTU mini split on sale for $550 that be optimal.
r/AirConditioners • Looking for Advice: Portable AC with Heat Pump for Garage – Which One to Pick & How to Vent? ->I bought three of this refurbished Midea Duo for $200 when it was on sale. Sometimes you actually get a brand new sealed unit, and other times you get one that's obviously been used. Only one time did I have to return one that was used so that I could buy again and get a new one. They are very powerful, can blow extremely cold, and the best part is the huge amount of air it can move and circulate. I haven't powered on any fans since buying them. I have an office/bedroom that I built within an uninsulated garage, so the garage usually gets much hotter than outside the house, but the Midea Duo can easily make the room ice cold if I wanted too. I rather have an overkill powerful unit that I can adjust, than have one that struggles to cool past a certain temperature. It has an inverter an a number of smart features and automations, to where it does save energy compared to my old and much weaker 6000BTU window AC. As others have said sometimes you will have to drain the excess water if there is enough humidity and unfortunately attics tend to be the most hot and humid, do just buy yourself a condensate pump while you're at it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Restored-Midea-12-000-BTU-DUO-Portable-Air-Conditioner-Refurbished/15245460485?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101203551&adid=2222222222815245460485_101203551_14069003552_202077872&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=aud-430887228898:pla-319455734609&wl5=9031479&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=752240012&wl11=online&wl12=15245460485_101203551&veh=sem&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=202077872&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIoDxmTVAEVJ-3z0yqTYIRzpB&gclid=CjwKCAjwkbzEBhAVEiwA4V-yqgydXA4R16WUmiTF55fwu8OdSpoRGxBS-fhwMhFNN0V_tbo4gELrshoCD3IQAvD_BwE
r/AirConditioners • Best portable ac unit choice under $300(USD) for attic bedroom 240-260sq ft? ->Mentioning pets, I do have two cats in my room at all times. What I like about the Midea Duo is that I can control and monitor the AC with the SmartHome app. The included window panel had enough room for me to also drill a hole for the cat litter exhaust vent hose and a tiny hole for the condensate pump water drainage hose.
r/AirConditioners • Best portable ac unit choice under $300(USD) for attic bedroom 240-260sq ft? ->Like today it was peak 93F outside, 108 in the garage, but the AC kept my room a solid 68F. https://preview.redd.it/s5xch96ofrgf1.jpeg?width=1264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff398876af91a5d7216f1942858cb5fb339c2b98
r/AirConditioners • Best portable ac unit choice under $300(USD) for attic bedroom 240-260sq ft? ->I just bought midea duo portable ac at 370 from costco online. If you have a membership or if you know someone with it, highly recommend getting this one. Probably #1 dual hose inverter portablr ac out there.

r/orlando • View on Reddit →Midea duo inverter unit with airlock seal or with custom acrylic piece ( will look more clean but gotta spend some money on it)
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →There is definitely still some negative pressure, even with the Midea dual hose units. A slightly cracked open door will swing inwards by itself when the AC is turned on.
r/AskEngineers • View on Reddit →You can run a portable like the one you shared but it's not going to work as well as you think. You need an air conditioner that both pulls air from and exhaust air to the outside. That unit you're looking at only expels hot air outside. Which means you're going to be sucking in air through all the crevices in the vehicle, around the doors and windows and wherever else while you're also trying to cool down inside. Midea makes one that is more what you should use if you insist on the portable AC.
r/VanLife • View on Reddit →I paid $450 for it. It's been running throughout the day in 90F degree. Able to keep my room (110sqft) steady at 75F. Electricity average around $2/day. Worth it.
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →Hey, you should get one that pulls in air from outside, a dual ported unit (both pulls in air from and exhaust air to the outside). Because, if you use this and you're exhausting air.... It is basically sucking air out of the van, creating negative pressure. So the van needs air, so the negative pressure pulls air from around the window or wherever air can enter. So warm humid outside air will be pulled in. Midea makes a dual ducted unit, that will work better. You can do all the math you want on the unit you mention but this is self defeating, the math is worthless on single duct portable AC's.
r/VanLife • View on Reddit →I love my Midea duo air conditioner. I think I got it for like $580 and it works great for cooling in the summer. You can check this article for some good recommendations. r/homeownerstips • View on Reddit →The best all-around RV portable AC is the Midea Duo. It’s efficient, quiet, and cools small RVs fast.
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →If that window can support a window AC (It looks like it can), you should definitely use a window AC. They are many times more efficient and will work waaaay better than that single hose portable. If you absolutely must have a portable, get a dual hose. Costco sells a Midea dual hose inverter portable. But I'd still take any cheap window unit over even the best portable if your window allows it.
r/Appliances • View on Reddit →Midea DUO is the correct answer. Midea also makes this under many other names if you find one w/ the same DUO type hose.
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →YSK about these things: in general they're not the most efficient choice. (I know you may be stuck with this, but here's the tech.) The whole works sits inside the room, including the "hot side" of the mechanism (compressor, heat radiating coils etc.) That heat ends up radiating into the room, so you're recooling the heat the unit creates. (That's why window a/c's put the hot side outdoors.) There's also two kinds, single-hose and double-hose. Single-hose pulls air from the room, cools it, and blows the hot air outdoors, so part of the room air you've just cooled gets dumped outside. Dual-hose pulls air from the outside to cool the compressor and heat coils then dumps it outdoors, and a separate airflow pulls air from the room, cools it and blows back in the room. Finally, almost all of these have to be drained of condensate, although some evaporate the water and blow it outside with the hot air. I did a f/kton of research, and you might consider the Midea dual-hose models. They use a variable speed DC inverter-compressor which only runs as fast as it needs to, also quieter than most. As has been said here, not the cheapest but may be worth it in the longer run.

Selalu dimatiin sama mereka ?? Kalau bukan AC proper, mending pakai kipas angin aja. AC potrable jelek.

r/Switzerland • View on Reddit →I have a Medea Duo and Ive had it for 4 months now. It raised my electric bill almost a $77 a month. It puts negative pressure into the room, it pushes humidity into the room So the room is more humid than the rest of the house, and it has a horrible mesh filter that allows dust to enter and wet. I'm on the second floor apartment, and it's the second one that I've had to drag up here and put set up. From here on out, I'm sticking with frigidair period
A fürdoben lévo szellozon keresztül lehozta a cigiszagot a felsoszomszédtól aki bent bagózott a lakásban.
r/askhungary • View on Reddit →I have that unit and absolutely love it for its cooling power to noise output. Also seems pretty efficient so far. It does make a bit of a high pitched whine when the fan is running at the lowest settings. It seems to just be a side effect of the inverter and so far hasn't driven me nuts, but it is quite obvious to a keen listener.
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →The 14000 btu midea portable with the “dual hose” keeps my west facing two car garage at 78 while I’m tinkering. A mini split or window unit would probably be a way better option though if that’s an option.

r/CasualUK • View on Reddit →For 1 room its good. Don't get ambitious tho. That thing don't do shit in a living room.
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →Even the Midea dual hose units have this issue, just to a lesser degree. They are NOT sealed all that well and have gaps everywhere. The best way to mitigate this issue is to restrict the air outlet with a filter, reducing the pressure differential and hopefully creating a slight positive pressure
r/AskEngineers • View on Reddit →This question makes no sense to me? I have a 650sf apartment, and have two 14k portable A/C units (LR and BR). I live on the top floor with large west facing windows, so it gets toasty when it's hot. I run the LR in the afternoon around 3-4pm when the sun starts hitting the windows, and turn on the BR one around 7-8pm to cool that area down. One life-changing bit of advice I can give you is get a Midea Duo 14,000 BTU High Efficiency Inverter, Ultra Quiet Portable Air Conditioner (AMZN: $550!). This thing is whisper-quiet for the BR, so I can close the windows (no street noise), leave it on all night, it cycles on/off as needed with almost no noise. Honestly, this has raised my sleep game immensely.

r/france • View on Reddit →If you can buy Midea Duo PAC which is a dual hose portable ac definitely worth it. If not you can get an Electrolux(AEG) one and make it simply dual hose with a 3D printed back side. Split ACs are simply unbeatable. They could be also used for heating too. But the installation costs etc are not small in UK I believe. Mitsubishi, Daikin, Midea are great for split ACs. You can also dehumidify your house with ACs. I am not living in UK but I'm a renter so I have a PAC in my bed room but luckily my living room had a split AC. We have very bad humidity in the summer
r/AskUK • View on Reddit →Except I’ve barely heard any of these alternatives be mentioned and online reviews are mixed at best. The Midea option looks to be the best of the bunch and not look like a 70’s relic at the same time. It was at one point more reasonably priced too.
r/Switzerland • View on Reddit →Ive been using it for few days and honestly it is mindblowing... very quite
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →Personally the get the Midea Duo from Costco. it's got a dual hose design and it's a heat pump. We use 2 for a dual level house we rent and it does great to cover the whole house. Hottest period of summer it adds about $100-$120 to the bill, red of he time it adds about $20-50 to the bill. You just put it in the window fill with foam. Nothing hangs out, easy to drain at end of summer. Git it the year after the super hot 100 degree summer.

r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →I have this to cool my living room, dining room, and kitchen. There are no doors between these rooms so it works great. Each bedroom has the midea U (except for the 4 year old, she just gets an el cheapo unit that only runs for a couple hours at bedtime)
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →I have had the same unit that heats as well for the last 2 years. Best part about it is I can mount the exhaust ports in my window without having to take the screen out so I never worry about bugs. Depending on the distance between the screen and the window sash, you may be able to do the same.
r/AirConditioners • View on Reddit →No air conditioner is going to be particularly energy efficient but new ones are as good as they can be. If you have vertically-sliding windows then a window unit is definitely the best way to go. The U-shaped ones are best because you don't need to install brackets on the outside of the building. If you have horizontal-sliding windows then you'll need a portable AC unit, preferably a dual-hose model. The two best dual-hose brands are Midea and Toshiba. They're more expensive than window units but absolutely worth it in the middle of August.
r/askportland • View on Reddit →I have a Midea unit and I know exactly what you're talking about. There is a small gap from the bottom chamber to the top chamber, and due to the pressure difference, the airflow reverses in that region. I opened up the unit and sealed it with foam to remove this problem. These things are not sealed very well and have gaps everywhere. There's also gaps on the bottom of the unit and around the drain hoses. The evaporator is also not completely separated from the condenser on the inside, so even if you seal all the exterior leaks, there is still some inefficiency.
