I love my Canon Ivy. It's portable and easy to use.
r/scrapbooking • Best portable mini photo printer for crafting? ->I have the same issue with my Canon Ivy, no matter how many times I run the blue paper the photos come out SO blue :( definitely would not recommend.
r/Travelersnotebooks • Mini Photo Printers for Your Travelers Notebooks? ->I always adjust colors before printing to try to combat this, I have an ivy and turn up brightness contrast saturation and will color correct if needed. I find the pictures come out blue and dark if I don't.
r/scrapbooking • best mini photo printer? ->I came here to vouch for the Canon Ivy! I but the generic Zinc sheets from Amazon, which run $23 for a 50 pack. The photos are 2" x 3" and they are pretty darn good.
r/JunkJournals • Photo printer ->I have a Canon Ivy and a Canon Selphy Square and use them both, depending on the shot and the space I have for it.
r/Travelersnotebooks • Small photo printer ->I've had a Canon Ivy for years, and also a Canon Selphy square. I tend to use the Selphy a lot because it is newer and higher quality, but the narrower Ivy photos work well if I have a little less space. I got non-proprietary cases for travel and have loved having them!
r/Travelersnotebooks • Mini Photo Printers for Your Travelers Notebooks? ->I have the Canon Ivy and highly recommend! Photo quality is better than expected. I also got the small circle sticker paper for when I want to go smaller than 2x3. I got it primarily for my planner (after much hesitation, I was so worried I wouldn't get enough use out of it) but I've found it to be so handy for printing fun photos and labels too. Ex: I went on a girl's trip and made all of us "hangover cure" bags with custom stickers to remember the weekend.
r/HappyPlanners • Did anyone get a photo printer for Chistmas? ->Yeah, blue. No true colors here, unfortunately. And very fuzzy/noisy pictures
r/hobonichi • Mini Printers recommendations? ->Yeah, and my photos are always too blue. It's sufficient for what I want, though.
r/hobonichi • Mini Printers recommendations? ->I use Canon's version, the Ivy. But I use HP paper. I read that was the best combo - still not great quality (think old Polaroid level) but allegedly best.
r/bulletjournal • What mini phone printer do you guys recommend? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I LOVE my Canon Ivy. I like that I can print them and they are stickers and don't take up all the space and I can print my selfies (that I never print) and some of my nicer photos. The quality is great but obviously photo printing quality at staples or a photo store.
r/scrapbooking • Recommendations for a photo printer? ->I also bought the Instax Mini but i find myself using the Canon Ivy more.
r/scrapbooking • Recommendations for a photo printer? ->I love my Canon Ivy!
r/Journaling • Adding photos to your journal ->I use Canon's version, the Ivy. But I use HP paper. I read that was the best combo - still not great quality (think old Polaroid level) but allegedly best.
r/bulletjournal • View on Reddit →It doesn't use zink right? Cause I think that's why the quality isn't all there in the canon. The Kodak retro is one I'm definitely considering as #1 to replace it with the ivy. And your photos stick on well with the techo tape? It hasn't ever fallen out?
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →So I have the original Canon IVY and I was never a fan of their zink paper so I switched to using Kodak's zink paper in the device and I love it. You just have the keep the original blue square that comes in the Canon zink paper so the IVY is able to print properly.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I have both, and I love both. I have different sizes, so I like the variety. I honestly wouldn't say I prefer one over the other.
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →I've tried the Canon Ivy, HP sprocket, and Polaroid Hi-Print and can't recommend the Polaroid Hi-print enough! The photo quality is way better than the others and the sticker paper is way thinner than the others so it doesn't bulk up your hobonichi as fast! The trade off is that the refills are more pricey however.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →It was so disappointing! I really wanted to love the canon ivy but the dullness and fuzziness put me off and it wasn't worth the price.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I use the Canon Ivy II for photo stickers. Then I use a Phomemo thermal printer for black and white stuff and labels. Both work well for my needs.
r/bulletjournal • View on Reddit →I have the same issue with my Canon Ivy, no matter how many times I run the blue paper the photos come out SO blue :( definitely would not recommend.
r/Travelersnotebooks • View on Reddit →yeah i keep debating to return my sprocket and get the ivy bc i heard the ivy prints better quality. my sprocket has been printing very saturation photos with a pink/yellowish tone. Been trying to edit the photos to change to saturation on the original photos to see if that helps but i don't a fan of how they come out
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →+1 for the Ivy. It's the only mini printer I've owned, but I love it!
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →Just bought a canon ivy last week! It's been great! I have a great photo printer at home, however ink for me gets extremely expensive ($120 per pack with color) so I like to use that sparingly and for more professional quality prints. Also, wanted to have something portable. I did buy the paper in bulk, but I've been using them in my small planner (hobonichi weeks) so I'll put photos into a collage and get smaller versions of the photos. This allows me to get up to 8 mini photos on one paper. Just note, the phtotos can become hard to see because they are tiny and the quality isn't professional print quality, but it doesn't bother me. I do roadtrip across the country about 2-3 times a year with my family so I figured it would be nice to have on hand when I'm just sitting in the car with so much downtime. Here's a tip I picked up from others with an Ivy printer: - Use the HP sprocket photo papers instead of the canon ivy ones. Picture quality comes out a tad bit better than using the ones from canon if you end up with the Ivy. Also, try looking at FB marketplace for a second hand one! I've seen HP sprockets as low as $40. Just be sure you can test it out before you purchase so you know the product works!
r/JunkJournals • View on Reddit →I really wished the quality was better because I love the look of the little machine but idk if it's worth keeping it 🥲
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I've had the Canon Ivy 2 for 2.5 years now. The color is very inconsistent, I assume it has to do with the paper refills you get. I mostly use my Canon SELPHY 1500 and LOVE it. I understand that it isn't portable, though. Just had to put the shout out for it. It's great.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →Wouldn't get it💔 may have been the Costco batch but it was super cheap feeling and not at all a good purchase. I'm returning mine:(
r/canon • View on Reddit →I have had the HP sprocket and Canon Ivy 2. Both worked fine. I liked the Canon 2 over the sprocket though for color of my photos though neither were perfect. My Canon does occasionally have issues where it tells me I'm out of paper and won't print. But it has paper and nothing I do fixes it. I leave it alone and just try again later and it prints fine again. I did recently get a Polaroid Hi Print. Print quality I think is better than the Sprocket and Ivy. And I like that the paper isn't Zink so it is much thinner. It's still sticker paper so perfect for journaling. Of the 3, Canon has the easies app to use and you don't need a separate app to do a collage to be print more than 1 photo on one sticker paper.
r/bulletjournal • View on Reddit →Canon ivy 2 is the simplest, but it depends on the look youre going for. Instax also makes just photo printers, kodak, the slephy by canon ect. Take a look at each one and decide what you think looks best. I prefer no boarders so I went with an ivy also the sheets are sticker paper, but I do love the quality of prints form my old instax wide printer:)
r/scrapbooking • View on Reddit →I made a tiny review with pictures on my profile. I have both printers. If you "fix" the pictures before sending them to the printer, the Canon Ivy does great but it's gray tinted and a lot less bright than the high print. The High print is really pretty, thinner and so nice but the paper doesn't stick as well on the pages. The other negative is that you can't do multiple pictures in one print. Sorry for my English. I'm not doing well these days.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →Yes and I think that's why the quality is so low.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →Polaroïd hi-print and Canon Ivy. I like them both! I have on my profile the difference between the two. The hi-print are bigger so they will take a lot of your free space in your A6 but I still use it. I sometimes do collage on my Canon ivy but print it on my Hi-print and cut them since you can't do collage with the hi-print. https://www.reddit.com/r/hobonichi/s/8Xkj9lGHnN My opinions changed since I made that post but the pictures are true to life.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I have a thermal printer, if you're okay with them fading over time and you're fine with black and white photos with less detail, it's an affordable option. It's also fun to print out little line drawings and then cut them out to use as stickers. I used to use it for photos but now I mostly just use it for random lists and little drawings, I rarely use it though, it pretty much collects dust. I got the Canon Ivy2 for photos in December though and really love it, I also have the Canon Selphy for 4*6 prints I got before the Ivy and I still use it as well. I find I enjoy the color prints more vs the thermal and I like that I don't have to worry about them fading. I also like that I can print multiple photos on one sheet and can cut them out. If you are on a budget and just want to print photos and don't care about portability you could just use an inkjet printer?
r/Travelersnotebooks • View on Reddit →i love adding photos to my journal to capture events especially when i don't want to write much. I find it essential on days when i just want to fill pages. i use a canon ivy mini printer. not the brightest, but it does the job.
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →I use the Cannon Ivy 2 https://a.co/d/f2Hp3F1
r/Travelersnotebooks • View on Reddit →so I got the HP sprocket and wasn't so happy and the photo quality. the pictures were coming out very saturated and i would have to edit the photo before printing. i was still not a fan bc the editing still didn't look right (i also don't know much about editing with light exposure) so i returned it and got the Canon Ivy. I really like it. while some of the photo prints do come out a little saturated, it's not as bad as the HP sprocket (in my opinion) I also figured out that since this photo printers rely on thermal printing instead of inks, when you are loading the paper to the Canon, it fits i think 10 in the machine at once, so say you only print 2 photos for the day and the three days later you print 2 more photos (i hope this makes sense) ((I don't print all my photos at once bc i junk journal through the week and get new ideas)) there will be a blue paper with the photos to load in the Canon and it's supposed to help with making the pictures come out nicer so I'll keep the blue piece of paper and load it back in for next time so my next photos will come out good. I probably confused you but look at tutorials on how to print and you'll see there's a blue piece of paper with the photos that will come out first before you start printing.
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →Agreed! The quality on the hi-print is much way better than the canon ivy!
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →Hello everyone! Not too long ago I made a post on asking for portable printer recommendations and many of you offered great options! I had previously bought the canon ivy but did not like the picture quality. I decided to go with the Polaroid hi-print! The one on the left is the Polaroid and the one on the right is the canon. The Polaroid definitely beats the canon. It also offers sticky pack prints! Just what I was looking for â˜ºï¸ and as you can see it's slightly bigger. If you're wondering, the canon ivy does weigh less than the Polaroid. The Polaroid has a little bit more weight to it but it's nothing to worry about when traveling with it. I'll be returning the canon ivy and keeping the Polaroid hi-print. Thank you all for your help and recommendations!
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I had the Canon Ivy (1) and then a few months ago I replaced it with the HP Sprocket 2x3. I prefer the Sprocket a little bit more, it prints more warm. Also I would have issues with the Ivy connecting to my phone. As long as you have the blue scan card for your printer, you can use whatever paper you find cheaper.
r/bulletjournal • View on Reddit →I got the Canon Ivy 2 and the stickers are pretty good. I don't think they're as good as polaroids, but they're quick, easy, and the stickers look nice.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I find it's easier to find refills for the ivy. I had hp first and couldn't find refills locally.
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →I always adjust colors before printing to try to combat this, I have an ivy and turn up brightness contrast saturation and will color correct if needed. I find the pictures come out blue and dark if I don't.
r/scrapbooking • View on Reddit →I have the Canon 1500 and the Canon Ivy. They're both great for their intended uses. I take the Canon Ivy with me just about every time I travel. I've owned it 3.5 years at this point and the battery needs charged more often, but it still works great!
r/Travelersnotebooks • View on Reddit →they do but i find it to be pretty simple! i dont have much experience with printers and things but you basically just slide the cover off and place the stack of paper/sheets in there. you can buy them in packs of like 20 or 50 i believe! i think they give you a little blue piece of paper thats like a calibrating/test sheet that you just set on top of the other photo papers and run that through first. then you use an app to do the printing and editing!
r/JunkJournals • View on Reddit →I really like my Canon Ivy because I can get home from an event and immediately have the photos printed into stickers, without having to run an errand to get photos printed. It is expensive but I use it sparingly (I only print photos for maybe one out of every 5 spreads) so it's worth it to me. If your junk journaling includes more photos maybe printing at Walgreens would work better for you.
r/JunkJournals • View on Reddit →I bought the Canon ivy in 2022 and had issues with it since I got it. Mine won't grab the paper to print on it. Doesn't matter if there's more of the paper than there should be or if it's less. It's so frustrating!! I didn't use it at all last year because it didn't work
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I've used the Canon Ivy mini photo printer for a few years and love it for journal photos. It prints on sticker paper, so very easy to print and stick in my journal.
r/Journaling • View on Reddit →It%20definitely%20is%20closer%20to%20the%20original%20image.%20But%20I%20mainly%20picked%20the%20Polaroid%20for%20clarity.%20The%20canon%20looks%20too%20blurry%20to%20me%20and%20the%20colors https://preview.redd.it/b1da5yclusie1.jpeg?width=1576&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=afd7cfad7e6e5c92f586aa7080e478b7d009a95e
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I've had mine probably around a year? I haven't noticed any problems with fading but since they're in a closed book I haven't been too worried. The app doesn't have a way to make collage photos like the Canon Ivy does, their app is great but the prints were hideous and depressing because they all have a vintage blue cast. I usually make the ones I want in InShot and export it pretty quickly.
r/hobonichi • View on Reddit →I've used a Kodak Mini 2 Retro and the Canon Ivy 2nd generation. I like the image quality better on the Kodak, but the photos are larger and don't have a sticky back, and it is one of the only brands to use the 4 step printing system so they are the only ones who sell the paper, and it's expensive. I got the Canon Ivy to remedy the high cost of the photo paper. Because a lot of different printers use the ZINK process, it's easier to find paper and the pricing tends to be more competitive. Like I think I got a pack of 50 for the same cost as 10 of the Kodak papers. That said, I have found that the colours come out much less saturated and darker than I was expecting. I've only used it a couple of times so far but I plan on experimenting with adjusting the saturation and brightness to try to counteract that next time.
r/bulletjournal • View on Reddit →I also have the canon ivy 2 for journaling. The quality reminds me of disposable camera picture quality from back in the day, which I don't mind. Makes everything look nostalgic. If I print pictures that aren't in full brightness though, then the shadows can look pretty dark so I apply the soft light filter before printing any darker/night shots.
r/bulletjournal • View on Reddit →I just received my new canon ivy 2 yesterday and I'm not so crazy about the quality of the pictures. I went for the canon cause it had sticky back paper and because I wanted the portable printer in white. Are there better recommendations than canon ivy? Preferably with sticky back since I want to use them for journaling. I heard the Kodak retro has really good quality but they don't offer sticky back paper. Has anyone used double sided sticky tape to place them in their journals? And if so, how well does it stay in place?
