Truthear zero all the way bro. Absolute value for money, only costs $47 from amazon. It has good positional audio for gaming and really crisp. FWIW, my mate and I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for IEMs. Basically ranked them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find it helpful (google RecSift) You can filter by use cases, price ranges, and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)

Didn't stop me from getting the Defiants though 😆. Fits really well to my collection as I tend to rotate sound signatures quite a bit. My main rotation of Hexa (Brighter Neutral), Pure (Warmer Neutral), Blue:2 (Hard V-shape), and Defiant (Soft V-shape) satisfies my cravings well (for now).

Pure's a good pick, especially since you want neutral but with a bit more body. Bass is also more present compared to the Hexa. Haven't heard of magicone myself, but graph suggestes the treble may be a bit spicy? Explorer is also pretty good when I listened to them, though I went with the Pure between the two for my warm-leaning set. I'd probably wait a bit to see what the Moondrop LAN II brings, since apparently there's going to be 2 versions (reference and pop). If you found the Hexa to be thin, the Zero Blue:2 is probably not for you (I have and enjoy it, but it's not really what I'd call neutral and the mids are pretty thin). One more set that I would recommend is the Juzear Defiant. It's not neutral, but it's fun and balanced. From my main 4 sets (Juzear Defiant, Truthear Pure, Hexa, Zero Blue 2), it's the set that's easiest to recommend to someone that doesn't know their preference (though my favorite is still the Pure/Hexa).

I have both, but I'm not sure how I can help without knowing more of what type of sound you prefer (since they are VERY different). The specs aren't really as important as that. I can give some goods and bads of each one, but at the end it will depend on your sound preferences. Zero Blue 2: +Really nice sub bass rumble, and comes with a bass adapter to further boost the bass thump +Overall sound "feels" more spacious, because of the thinner mids and brighter treble +Has a mic variant that comes with both a mic and non-mic cable -Vocals can sound a bit thin and shouty -VERY source dependent (don't plug it straight to your PC, a cheap dongle like the Jcally JM6 Pro is good enough) -Treble can be sharp depending on your tolerances and eartip choice (included foam eartips or aftermarket deep-insert silicone eartips may be preferred to balance it) Pure: +Balanced warm-neutral tuning that's very nice to listen to for long periods +Natural sounding vocals and bass +Very safe treble while still being detailed -Sense of space is more intimate because of the warm-leaning tuning -May be "boring" because the bass and treble isn't overemphasized Between these two, I'd choose the zero blue 2 if you lean into competitive FPS gaming or aim for the bass. Otherwise, I find the Pure to be a safer choice for music. There are also a bunch of other options in the price range though, which may be better suited for you (again, depending on your preferences)

My personal rankings for stuff I've heard. I'm a neutral/neutral bright guy. (My post on reddit goes somewhat in depth on all of these, sadly I'm not very technical in my language) Kotori Audio Zephyr (Duh) Truthear Hexa Tangzu Yu Xuan Ji (might be too bright for some but easily looks the prettiest by a *BIG* margin) Truthear Gate (My current set, would upgrade to one of the options in the list in a few months) Tanchjim 4u (Bang for buck) Truthear x Crinacle blue 2 (tachjim 4u has better value) Aful Magicone (very similar to hexa) Moondrop May (A default starter set for almost everyone regardless of taste.) Letshouer s08 (not my taste, great value, premium for the price) Letshouer dz4 (not my taste, great value) Moondrop Chu 2 (My previous set that are lying around somewhere) Tangzu x hbb Xuan Nv (just because of the fit) Kotori Audio Vampire I'll check out your YouTube!

ye tuning mismatch between the iem and your preferences. was it the original zero blue or the zero reds. zero are also known for their pretty bad fit for a good amount of people with really chunky nozzles. if the blues weren't bassy enough for you you're probably a basshead and would enjoy something like 7hz legato

firstly OP's issue is that its a tuning mismatch. man prefers absolute bass cannon set and zero blues don't deliver that, very simple anyways if thats the case everyone who's plugging their hybrids straight into their pc would be **screwed** which I don't believe 100% plays out that way. ew300, em6l, zero reds without adapter, are some common sets people just plug and play gaming on pc but also listen to for music I just happen to filter those ones because their common use on PC. gaming performance would also be screwed if their intended sound signature was completely 'destroyed' and i believe you would see a landslide of complaints supermix i've seen are particularily sensitive which I'll agree with tuning changes that i've seen so I don't completely disagree. but for *every single* hybrid and multi driver to be **destroyed** in tuning thats just very hyperbolic Either way thats my humble read on the matter. I stand by that blues tuning are *much* less bassy then the sony's presented too so I do believe that to be an issue of tuning mismatch if you're a fan of bass cannons so even if we were to grant the tuning of the blues to be guaranteed screwed, the 'stock' tuning of it would will likely still not be up to OP's preferences

Look into Truthear Crinacle Zero BLUE 2 using the stock silicon eartips not the foam like most will recommend. It almost graphs or has the same frequency response in the treble and air region https://graph.hangout.audio/iem/711/?share=Ear_(1),BLUE2_S37

You mean Truthear zero:red vs zero:blue? If I recall correctly blues have more bass. Usually you don't want too much bass while gaming, because shots and explosions are in the lower area. If you are to choose between those two for gaming, I'd go with reds. But I think truthear hexa is in the same price bracket (more or less), and they have more neutral sound than either of those two, and that's even better for gaming (explosions and shots would be too much in bassy iems).

These are some that caught my attention when I researched before getting my first set in this price range. TBH the budget space is so crowded that it's really hard to pick. I feel like as long as it doesn't have overly negative reviews, and physically fit your ear great, you'll be ok. Hell, some people are even happier with some more budget sets in the $20 range. My top picks based on build are - Moondrop Lan - Kefine Klean (I own and love) or maybe spend a bit more for - Kefine Delci for the metal build and smaller body overall. If you want something prettier with a resin build (a bit lighter) - Kiwi Ears Cadenza (cheapest in this short list) - Truthear Red or - Truthear Blue 2 (also popular, but some complain about it being big) I think these are still pretty balanced, only a bit warm leaning - Inawaken Dawn MS (but looks to be leaning warmer, slightly V-shaped than neutral, which is not bad since neutral can be boring sometimes) I think the Truthears were popular for their technicals and great for EQ (tining), in which you said you don't need, though. least bass to most bass is probably Lan < Reds < Cadenza < Kefines < Blue 2 < Inawaken Dawn MS again, all still pretty balanced, the ones that are more on the right just have a bit more bass presence If you can spend a bit more, a very popular pick is the Truthear Hexa. More neutral and brighter (less bass) than the others listed. Or maybe the ew300 which looks pretty neutral but not as bright as the hexa.

You should also ask yourself if you are cool with foam tips since this zero 2 is tuned with foams in mind. I personally dont like them as I find them uncomfortable because they make my inner ear very warm and sweaty quickly. Just looking at the graphs, I bet the zero 2 is a bit more dynamic feeling than the Hexa, though note weight with some vocals using silicone might be on the brighter side. Hexas are very easy to enjoy as their sound signature is inoffensive, slightly laid back and warm. They can also seem a bit "boring" in comparison to a more Harman tuning.

Something that dramatically augments the sound isn't a big deal? Ok Chief. I own all three of the Zeros. The OG Blue I gave to a friend. My Zero Red delaminated, and was trashed (still use the impedance adapter for testing), and the Zero2 I returned, because that 12k peak was absolute garbage. If they ever release a Zero:RED2 that corrects the Zero2 treble spike, and is closer to JM1 in a properly budget set, I will get it too. Just because YOU don't have a problem on a laptop (which typically has a weaker headphone putout, or if it is a Mac, they are low impedance by design), almost every PC motherboard is high impedance. It basic electronics and electrical engineering science. Can't change physics. And it's something that everyone should be aware of, so if they encounter it, they know.

Personally I like the Trio and the Vader Balanced over any of the Truthear Zeros. You can get the Trio or Vader Balanced for under $30, and with a good cable from KBEar, you will still be under the price of the Zeros, and have better overall tonality, without the oddball shortcomings of the Zeros. I still feel, personally, that the Zero Blue is better than the Blue2. But I am in a minority for this opinion.

The Zero Blue is is no way "neitral", it is a very U shaped IEM. Meaning the upper mids and sub bass are boosted. The idea was to have a more "speaker like" experience with the way the upper mids were tuned, and how the sub bass is more tuned like a subwoofer with a lot of lower gain before 200hrz. Its using a neutral sound curve known as JM1 for the mid-range presentation, but the treble and sub bass are crabked up to add wow factor. The Zero: RED is closer to neutral, and the Zero Blue 2 has more of an OG Zero Blue feel to the bass and treble tuning, but matching the timbre and tone of the RED with more bass.

Thank you for saying this. I'm no audiophile, but I started this hobby with the 7Hz Zero, and I instantly noticed that it didn't have enough bass for my liking. Then I got the Zero 2 when they came out, and now I'm currently rocking the Zero Blue 2. I like the Harman tuning. This is the most I am willing to spend on iems before I start looking into Bluetooth for the technology and conveniences they bring.

In my expereince, the truthear zero blues, even with a seal (that is pretty hard to achieve in some people's cases like mine) don't do gaming all that well. First the gunshots are shouty so they cover up sound queues, the bass is alright and boosts the right frequencies for footsteps in-game that are deeper but the imaging, soundstage and vertical imaging was quite poor. If you are willing to gamble with the fit, they are a pretty OK pair of IEM's but they are starting to show their age 100%. For music they are quite lifeless so there's that. You could wait for the Truthear Zero Blue 2 which has a smaller nozzle with nicer bass but still similar "clean" sounding tuning. Maybe they'll fix the technicalities with this upcoming second version. I'd much rather pick the EW300's, the Kefine Delci (for a similar price)

Pure's a good pick, especially since you want neutral but with a bit more body. Bass is also more present compared to the Hexa.

It seems the Chu 2 is a highly regarded iem here, well if you go outside your comfort zone, I mean see outside the box there are many better budget options to consider, here 7hz Salnotes Zero 2 is a slightly more bassy version of the Chu 2, a good allrounder Blon Z300 is basically a very balanced set with good sub bass and a clean unspicy treble, comes with a decent 4.4mm balanced cable QKZ xHBB is my fav budget basshead, it can produce immersive reverberating sub bass rumble with the right matching eartips (Spinfit CP100 for me), it also has good soundstage and imaging, with clean vocal and treble clarity too The KZ Saga is a rare KZ with a very well balanced neutral tuning, not lacking or boosting any part of the frequencies, with the right matching eartips it can qualify as an budget audiophile quality basshead, especially the bass version CCA Trio can be considered as a small upgrade from the Castor Bass with less overwhelming bass intensity and a more balanced set with a clean un-muddy sub bass focus Truthear Zero (blue) are mostly balanced sounding, with good imaging and soundstage, has good bass punch and texture

I went to my local shop to try out some "endgame" level of iems today since I am on off day, and saw this new Truthear Zero Blue 2 on the shelf. So while waiting to test the other kilobucks iems, out of curiosity i reached out and tried the Blue 2, and....it is so damn good I thought i was hallucinating. So to make sure i wasnt being dramatic, i tried other thieaudio prestige ltd and "almostexact" same shell size 64 audio u6t and it proved that I wasnt. Dont get me wrong, blue 2 doesnt out resolve any of those kilobuck iems, but the tuning is so good! When dirextly compared to u6t, u6t sounded like theres a something lacking on the treble? Not sure if its the unit issue but blue 2 sounded so much better and natural. Just the technical aspect isnt comparable especially when full band of bass/drums/guitars coming in u6t I am still able to pinpoint everything while blue 2 is more of a mess. Blue 2 i personally feel that the vocals and treble is just nice 👌, and smooth! Not to mention very comfortable too. I have some endgame level sets and still plan to get this one just for everyday beater set! Tldr; Its crazy how much quality 64.99 can get you in 2025!

There are hundreds of measurements of the Zero out there with impedance adapters. And plenty of other multi driver IEM's that show that increased impedance in the output dramatically effects the tonality of the IEM. Its literal electrical engineering, and your arguing with it. Do you think the earth is flat too? https://audioamigo.squig.link/?share=Truthear_Zero,Truthear_Zero_15_Ohm,Truthear_Zero_Blue_2,Truthear_Zero_Blue_2_15_Ohm,Truthear_Zero_Red,Truthear_Zero_Red_Ruyi_Rod Normalize that at 1k to make it make more sense. And thats from a paltry 15ohm increase. Its not uncomon to see double that on some PC sound outputs. And quantifying anecdotally that you used a shitty PC soundcard, doesnt mean anything. The majority of moden PC motherboards, especially nicer ones, have Headphone amps specifically designed for higher impedance headphones. Like 300ohm Bereydynamics and Sennheisers. It is a very well known, very well documented, and very understand electrical crossover issue. Why you are sitting here denying science is unbelievable. When there are measurements, and countless questions about it, and multiple threads telling people on PC to buy dongles to prevent it from happening.

I would plug the Truthear Blue to a good source (even a jcally jm 6 is enough). Unfortunately computer sound cards are not good enough that they act as an impedance adapter to your blues and it may result way too much bass than intended. I am also a Blue owner btw

Jumping in here for a second just in case you find what I have to say useful. Harman target IEMs, like the Zero Blue 2s, should be one of the better choices for gaming, if not the best choice. It's very odd that you didn't find them good for a competitive game like Valorant. Are you running them straight out of the motherboard output? If so, that's not a good idea, motherboard audio output is garbage, even on expensive motherboards. Get a cheap USB-C dongle like the Jcally JM6 Pro if that's the case.
