I use a Venta and I'm happy with it. Yes it's marketed as an air purifier, but I have a coway air purifier that I run all the time anyway.
r/BuyItForLife • Best HUMIDIFIER you'll recommend that really works well in long-term use? ->Yes. I run my Venta with distilled only. I make my own distilled was with a Vevor distiller bit of a pain but better then buying. I wash out the distiller with just plain white vinager every 2 weeks to remove build up.
r/BuyItForLife • do all humidifiers suck?? need recs for one that'll actually survive the winter ->Look up the venta humidifier. It spins a plastic cylinder of disks slowly and blows air over it. I got mine shipped from home depot but Amazon has them too. Get that and a bottle of steramine tablets. Put a half in once a month or two when you clean it. It won't get nasty, you don't need to replace any paper filters, it doesn't get mildew or messy gross like ultrasonic. And seems well built enough to actually be bifl.
r/BuyItForLife • humidifier recommendations? ->Had the Canopy too and yeah the output was pretty weak. For what it's worth I've been running a Venta LW25 for like 2 years now and it's solid - being able to toss everything in the dishwasher is clutch. No fancy features but it just works and stays clean
r/BuyItForLife • Anyone go from Canopy to Blueair H35i evaporative humidifier? ->Evaporative. Get a Venta. I don't recommend anything but I'll recommend the shit out of those humidifiers. The air purification part is minimal but it's the easiest and best humidifier. Just a box of water open to the air, never gets nasty and even if the water gets a little dusty it doesn't take that shit with it, and cleaning it is wiping the box. A literal miracle as far as I'm concerned
r/BuyItForLife • Best humidifier for low-maintenance, no filters, easy cleaning, and works with tap water? ->When you've made it to buyitforlife- asking for functionality over aesthetics. "Please excuse the large window unit sitting on the floor in the middle of the walkway in my bedroom"
r/BuyItForLife • do all humidifiers suck?? need recs for one that'll actually survive the winter ->Venta makes great humidifiers. I've had mine for 4 years now and still going strong.
r/BuyItForLife • Best humidifier recommendations? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I second Levoit 6000S, I just got it after owning the AirCare, Honeywell, and Venta. None of them comes close to the Levoit in terms of humidifying power and noise. For reference, where I'm from it is 20-32% humidity without a humidifier. I get to 50% with the Levoit, the only one that can easily achieve that.
r/Humidifiers • Humidifier recommendations for a very DRY room? Master bedroom. ->Get a Venta Humidifier, it's uses evaporation instead of the usual ultrasonic humidifier (which can be harmful). It's pricier but way easier to clean and maintain and last a long time.
r/AirQuality • Just found out that this is the humidifier I've been using to help me breathe after sinus surgery... ->A long time ago, we had a Venta, but it performed poorly as an air cleaner and as a humidifier. And it was expensive, and a pain in the ass to clean. We currently use a mix of differently sized Honeywells with wicking filters. The main cleaning consists of throwing out the filter and putting in a new one. The frequency of filter changes is basically monthly (higher than the manufacturer's label). You will have to wipe the insides with mild detergent/water during the filter changes.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta. Kind of pricey, but I bought mine 10 years ago and use it every day and it's still going no filters either.
r/Denver • View on Reddit →Yes, Venta. Simple and genius. Also quiet, but not the prettiest.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta evaporative humidifier. Its expensive, comes in 3 sizes (s, m, l), fan over rotating disks in water instead of disposable wicks, doesn't have a bunch of nooks/crannies, runs on regular water but do recommend using their antibacteriostatic solution or can diy w/steramine tablet and dishwashing rinse aide instead. Negative- disks do not come apart so need to do deep cleaning mode or dishwasher. Smartmi evaporative humdifier. Less expensive, same concept, little more high tech, one model/size, discs come apart for easy cleaning. Negative- access to fan (to clean/dust) is harder compared to Venta.
r/Humidifiers • View on Reddit →For anyone on the fence about Venta: yes it's expensive, yes it's weird looking, but I've had one for 6 years and it's still going strong. The water treatment additive is the only ongoing cost and it's minimal. Zero filters to replace. It's genuinely one of those "buy it for life" products if you take care of it.
r/homeownerstips • View on Reddit →Venta makes great humidifiers. I've had mine for 4 years now and still going strong.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta. Made in Germany, is easy to maintain, and there's a model that has a built in humidistat.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta is the best. They work great without additives. I never use any in mine. I have a small one in the bedroom and a large one in the living room. I run them all winter. No special water needed.
r/Denver • View on Reddit →+1 for the venta. Fun tip: for the water additive use a pump soap dispenser. Figure out how many pumps each fill requires and you don't need a measuring cup. Not so fun fact: the white dust ultrasonic humidifiers leave behind is often calcium dust and other minerals in the water. Due to how those humidifiers work it can actually be dangerous to breathe that dust in and there's been links show that it can actually cause lung cancer.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →The Venta is what you're looking for. You only have to clean it every ~10 days. Dishwasher safe. Literally a plastic box with no nooks or crannies. German made. However, I must warn you, it's $$$!
r/Buyingforbaby • View on Reddit →Venta. No wick and you can throw the pieces (without the motor) in the dishwasher - so no mold issues. No heat - so lower energy usage. Evaporative - so no particulate issues like the ultrasonics. I'm surprised this design isn't more common.
r/minnesota • View on Reddit →I've had good luck with the Venta LW25 airwasher for a similar sized space. It's pricey up front but it's built like a tank, easy to clean and has no filters to replace. Mine's been running every winter for about 5 years with zero issues. It's not silent but the low setting is pretty quiet.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →As mentioned by others, Venta. But also if you're getting calcium buildup that quickly you may want to consider buying distilled water.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I live in the arid west and Humidipaks work great for me. I wouldn't use anything else personally unless you are humidifying the entire space. I also run a Venta room humidifier. I highly recommend those too.
r/AcousticGuitar • View on Reddit →Using a venta airwasher for 21 years now. Had to replace clutch about five years ago
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta. Easy to clean and keep clean with the cleaning and water treatment liquid.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Can vouch for Venta. The single only humidifier thats easy to keep clean since the important part is dishwasher safe.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →My skin and sinuses thank me for switching to a Venta. I swear my throat felt scratchy every morning using that mineral sprayer ultrasonic junk.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Yup, plus great customer support, and it's so quiet!
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta. Very easy to maintain and great build quality.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →There's a few you can compare[here](https://threadlens.co.uk/app/r/humidifier) that have been recommended previously. I've been happy so far with the Venta
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →Can't go wrong with Venta. It's basically a humidifier that also 'washes' the air, it traps a lot of dust an fine particles, without the use of filters (which is nice, because replacing them sucks). The way it works is simple, but also genius: a fan bloes air against a (slowly) spinning slatted cylinder. The cylinder is half submerged in water, and an additive increases the surface tension of the water in such a way that bubbles form in between all of the slats. Dust and other unwanted particles 'stick' to the bubbles and end up in the water when that part of the cilinders gets submerged again. The 'box' is made of durable plastic and can be easily taken apart and cleaned. They offer different sizes for different needs.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I recommend the Venta brand. It's filterless so you don't have to worry about mold and bacteria building up in the filter. Though cleaning out the residue that accumulates in the reservoir is still somewhat of a PITA. And it doesn't mist calcified water into your living spaces. Really a sweet German design. I think Home Depot still might sell them, or you can get them off Amazon.
r/Tucson • View on Reddit →I feel your pain on the Blueair pump. Sealed mechanisms are a nightmare because you can't mechanically scrub the bio-film out of the impeller housing. Unfortunately, the "Unicorn" you are looking for (Evaporative + UV + Dishwasher Safe) doesn't exist yet. The electronics required for UV and Auto Dry mean you can't submerge the base unit in a dishwasher. You have to choose one path: * **True BIFL (Dishwasher Safe):** Look at the **Venta LW25** (or LW45). It is incredibly simple - no wicks, no pumps, no filters. You can throw the entire lower housing and disk stack into the dishwasher. It lacks UV, but it's physically cleaner because you can scrub every inch of it. * **Sterilization (Boilable):** If you are open to ultrasonic, the **Carepod** uses a stainless steel tank that you can actually boil on the stove to sterilize.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →For a space that big in the winter, Id recommend the Venta LW25. its made for continuous use, has a 2 gallon tank, and doesn't need constant scrubbing since it uses rotating discs instead of filters. Its a little pricey, but for a large living room it would be worth it imo. You can find some good options [in this thread](https://www.reddit.com/user/SecureRich1212/comments/1nvesr8/the_best_humidifiers/)
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I found the maintenance of the venta much more reasonable than our previous humidifier. I'm annoyed by the air washing claims, they do virtually nothing compared to an air filter, but they are excellent humidifiers.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Venta. My daughter is immunocompromised so I did a ton of research to minimize risks with humidifiers. It's literally a paddle that slowly agitates a bucket of water and a fan on top. Just top it off with tap water each day, then wipe it out and add a sterilizing liquid to some fresh water every 2 weeks. Plus it's German, so they have instructions in the guide on how to replace all the parts (making it BIFL).
