I received the valerian visionmaster pro2 today and the light bleed was terrible. There's a high pitch buzzing noise that drove me mad . I dont have alr screens just a 100 inch matt white screen. I didn't like the picture quality of the valerian on my screen. The black levels on my jmgo n1s 4k on the same screen was better Adjusting dbl on the valerian did nothing.made no difference. The nebula x1 and hisense c2 ultra worked better on my setup but where too noisy My n1s4k is fantastic and on my screen had better black levels than the valerian but not the x1 . The n1s 4k is the most quietest projector I've owned. My valerian has been boxed back up for return .that buzzing noise drove me mad but the valerian did have a really sharp picture Maybe I would have needed a £3000 screen to make the most of the valerian but on my screen I enjoyed the jmgo n1s 4k more .a lot more. Don't believe the hype on these money grabbing sponsored youtube videos. The jmgo n1s is the real deal .I'm waiting on my delivery of the xgimi Horizon 20 pro next. Fingers crossed 🤞

To add on for OP, the hook up video is great however do note his side by side comparison and conclusion is skewed for americans who don't consume foreign contents with subtitles. So the likes of Valerion does well in those tests but the result will be different if you use subtitles. OP can consider the new xgimi 20 series or nebula x1 as imo both are better than the pro2. Also, tri lasers such as Valerion and xgimi has rbe, speckles issue that OP should take note.

X1 is sharper than valerion. Wdym it's pq is poor? Do you mean poor pq because some ppl say in the dark scenes that it look dim? That's because the comparison is without subtitles. X1 dynamic contrast and gamma adjustment is definitely not that good as their processor is the slower one.

Ignore those deluded Valerion fans. Tbf if you only consume non subtitle dark content then maybe Valerion ebl will be the better choice for you. Assuming you're not sensitive to rbe, under $3k the best is dangbei s7 ultra max, then it's a tossed up between xgimi horizon 20 max and nebula x1. For ust, nexigo ap mk2 is better than valerion and has no rbe / speckle issue too.

Imo x1 with iris will make a difference, that's like free 2x native contrast booster.

Cinema like experience also means dark cave. If you're not willing to turn your rooms to a cave then better option is ust + alr. However, if you're ok with casual usage the x1 pro imo is fine. You can move around the house and just point it to a random wall to use. Although for tri laser like x1, you should check your sensitivity to rbe.

Nahh nebula x1 has better native and dynamic contrast. Valerion advantage is dimming.

You can consider nebula x1 and valerion max (if you can get it for less than $3k) as they have iris. Lasers get dim over time too. Imo best is for you to sample or demo them as tri lasers have issues such as rbe and speckle which bother some people. If you're sensitive to rbe then you will have to consider alpd laser projector or 3lcd like epsons.

There is no good standardized way to do testing for projectors. I think rtings did pretty decent reviews but even they failed to capture many nuances.

I'd throw the Nebula X1 into the mix. They're tuning their own version of EBL in the beta firmware and it has more brightness/all glass optics (more sluggish built in os but I use an AppleTV 4k so doesn't bother me

I actually watched Venom yesterday, and the shadow details were pretty impressive. Those monsters looked clear, no blurry tentacles or anything

I have a Samsung S95c oled 65 inch and a nebula X1 and the older nebula 4k. The TV is crisp as fuck. Really really nice on every level. The X1 is a fantastic projector perfect for screens over 100 inches and you can position it at angles as well so I have mine in the corner of the room rather than mounted on the ceiling. It also has a handle so you can move it around. The old 4k Nebula is also superb on a budget.

4K is definitely the way to go. Once you've used both 1080p and 4K projectors, you'll notice it's a completely different experience. I'm using the Nebula X1 right now, laser 4K, and honestly I'm loving the clarity. I can literally see every pore on the actor's face. The colors are also way more vibrant. I never regret about stretching my budget for this one

My mars 3 air is probably my most used nebula due to the large capacity battery. I have the astro, air, laser4k (O.G.) and the X1

Most of the new projectors have that feature. Also the nebula is easier to carry around with its handle.

Based on what you said, Nebula X1 might be worth looking into. It's not super bulky and weight and easy to move around, which sounds like a win for your setup. And the brightness is surprisingly decent. You can see the image clear even with sone ambient light.

Not at all as a temporary thing for like a party sure but it's just not designed to do it that way also if you are sensitive to the rainbow effect I noticed that on my X1 but I don't have that on my LSI 12000

If you're willing to spend the money, Nebula X1

They have projectors that have Android TV or Google TV built in. They are called lifestyle projectors. You will need to have the ability to control the amount of the light in the room. A screen can cost a significant percentage of the cost of a good projector. Some brands that are popular with higher lumens levels. Seenebula.com, xgimi. Keep in mind a higher lumens projector from a reputable brand is going to cost more than a TV. Don't be shocked. I have experience with both xgimi and Nebula projectors. I sold my xgimi to buy another nebula. I currently have the nebula Astro, capsule air, Mars 3, laser4k and a BenQ th575 (no built in OS). Forgot to add that you should not be fooled by projectors on various marketplaces that offer unreal lumens ratings for dirt cheap. Expect to spend $1,500+ for a decent lumens lifestyle projector and probably close to the same for a screen.

I have the Epson CO-FH02 and I've tried to upgrade thinking things would get better but they just don't. I just returned the Nebula X1 because it wasn't a noticeable improvement and was $3k instead of $499. The X1 had some weird banding in bright areas and my wife could see rainbows (I don't see them but she couldn't watch it). Epson has colors down and the 3LCD end up just looking better. Just my experience. I imagine the FH06 is similarly good if not better as it was made for home cinema but $100 more.

Do you have crap wireless? I have the nebula laser 4k without issue. I also have the capsule air and use it without issue but it's not 4k. If it's stationary just get an external player and connect to the laser4k.

The pro could work but the form factor would make it challenging. I have one and mostly use it outdoors unless fiddling around inside.

How about Nebula X1? I wouldn't say it replaces a full speaker setup, but for something all-in-one, the sound's actually not bad. It gets loud enough and has a decent range, and it can kind of pull off that surround feel if your room's set up right. Or the JMGO N1S Ultimate? The image quality is also excellent, but you may need to purchase an additional speaker to meet your needs.

Totally agree. Buying a projector has been one of the best decisions I've made. I thought about it for a long time before finally got my nebula x1. I use it to watch movies, play music, whatever. It kind of just moves around the house with me now

Seenebula.com makes a 4k Laser SE with Dolby vision but this requires external power. If you want portable they make the mars 3 which is 1080p with a 200wh battery built in that can get you up to 5.5 hours if playing off USB at a reasonable volume in eco mode 300ish lumens. Then there's full brightness at 1000 lumens around 2.5 hours. I have the original laser4k without Dolby vision, the mars 3 and the capsule air.

The newer model is amazing so if it's half as good just buy it, as I've a older nebula 4k which didn't get great reviews compared to this one and I thought that was great. Compared to a projector from 5 years before these lasers are so much better

I got the Nebula X1 earlier this month and I set it up with an ALR screen. Ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. It's so clear. And I can say it's my year projector and the best set up I had

EBL produces typical adverse effects: visible pumping, color drift (particularly in reds) and overall image instability. For accurate cinema reproduction, it's best to avoid this mode and concentrate on other available adjustments. If that is not important to you ("accurate cinema reproduction" is just measurements, not how you enjoy what you see), then by all mean go for the Valerion as they are the best in the market. Without EBL, both the XGimi H20 Max and Pro are better out the box in D65 film mode. Ditto for the Nebula X1. All those projectors are really good nonetheless.

i have been a beta-tester since January 25. it's the best projector i have ever seen & used - in terms of image quality & adaptability.

Its image quality definitely looks better with the lights off. But it's 3500 lumens, enough brightness, so it performs not bad when the lights on, I think

I have the X1 and my friend has the C2, so I've used both. Honestly the picture quality is great on both of them and I don't think you'd go wrong either way. But I personally like the sound on the X1 more. It really feels immersive and kind of surrounds you. I was actually surprised at how good it is. For casual use it feels just as good as using a separate Marshall or Harman Kardon

Both the X1 and the X3100i look great in terms of clarity and they're both 4K. But I think the X1 might have the edge when it comes to black levels. Its native contrast is 5000:1 and dynamic contrast is 56,000:1, which seems to help with shadow detail. Also, the X1 has 3500 lumens compared to 3300 on the X3100i, but there's still a slight brightness bump too. No issues using it in a room with natural light, at least from what I've seen

yup. adjusting the screen and projector is a major p.i t. a. unless you use keystone that reduces image quality and light spill
