I was using Tygr300r for single player and PC38x for multi, but recently grabbed the Sony MDR-MV1 and love them. Still use the PC38x for the mic but the Sony's sound incredible for single player and movies.

If you want satisfying bass for your music genre go with MDR-M1 or FT1 closed-back. For open-back MDR-MV1 has the best sub bass & bass if your budget allow. Otherwise AR5000 or used 105 AER.

Maybe try TRRS balanced cable for MV1, many MV1 enjoyer have it. Their bass become even better and balanced out the high better. The sense of scale and space is slightly improve as well.

Most headphone sounds the same. But this is not the case on MV1 TRRS connection. Still, it is your choice not to try it. Good luck.

Right. We all can just crank up the volume when we want our headphone has more dynamic bass and bigger stage. It is just a simple suggestion. Stop forcing it into long argument. Take it or leave it. Good luck and stop imagine argument out of thin air.

Sony M1 and MV1 doesn't need amp. MDR-7506 will do if you want affordable. They are all studio level clarity and accuracy.

For gaming and audio work, open-backed you got MDR-MV1 and HD490 Pro. For closed-back it is MDR-M1 and HD620s. Check them out, try them out if you can since you work at audio store. Not familiar with Logitech option

Same thought, I have the X2HR it's really sturdy however it's hard to use for long term because its heavy. I now use Sony MV1, it has good grip and sometimes I forgot it is in my head.

**Sennheiser HD 620S** \- Nice relaxed Sennheiser sound but with more bass than 6-series open backs, has that beautiful Sennheiser midrange, slight bit of treble weirdness, nothing too crazy and quite easy to correct, lacking a smidge of bass impact, nothing a bit of EQ can't rectify. Sound stage was quite good for a closed back, as was imaging, exceeded my expectations in this area. Respond to EQ fairly well, they do distort fairly quick if you feed them too much bass without enough negative gain. Absolutely fantastic build quality, these things are built like tanks, lots of clamp but rapidly loosening up the more I use them. Only negative in the build department is the stock cable kinda sucks. It's thin and holds it's shape too much. 150 Ohm impedance pairs nicely with a tube amp, love how they sound on the Valhalla 2 in high gain mode. 8.5/10 would recommend. **EQ settings:** \-7.8dB preamp gain | (1) Peak Filter 24Hz @ +6.0dB Q factor 0.71 | (2) Peak Filter 64Hz @ + 1.5dB Q factor 0.71 | (3) Peak Filter 118Hz @ -3.0dB Q factor 6.00 | (4) Peak Filter 238Hz @ + 3.0dB Q factor 5.00 **Sony MDR-MV1 -** Wow, how much bass can an open back have? These have a ton of bass impact and slam, and nice deep bass that's also tight. Listening to The Weeknd on these was a blast. Midrange was quite pleasant as well, treble definitely on the brighter side of neutral, just a bit peaky for my taste, but boy can these reveal some fine detail. Super low impedance so best to drive these from a source with very low output impedance, these do not pair well with an OTL tube amp at all, even on low gain. These EQ really well, generally require less EQ to get them where I like compared with the 620S (I do love me some bass). Comfort? PHENOMENAL. 11/10, super lightweight, aluminum ear cups with nice plastics, headband is comfy and spreads the weight, pads are excellent, my ears don't get hot in these at all. Might be the most comfortable pair of headphones I own, maybe the most comfy I've ever worn! 9.5/10, highly recommended! **EQ settings:** \-3.3dB preamp gain | (1) Peak Filter 23Hz @ +2.8dB Q factor 1.00 | (2) Peak Filter 6000Hz @ - 2.2dB Q factor 3.00 | (3) Peak Filter 7000Hz @ -1.5dB Q factor 3.00 | (4) Peak Filter 9450Hz @ -3.0dB Q factor 6.00 I've really enjoyed both of these, both had me grinning from ear to ear listening to different tracks. I honestly wasn't expecting to like both, and figured I'd surely be returning one or the other. Guess it's time to offload some less used headphones to subsidize these haha

if the 560s and 490pro arent doing it for you the sony mdr mv1 is the other obvious option, if that doesnt work it will be left 100% on your personal preference which would be hard to find the ideal one.

My last trip, I've bought: Denon AH-D7200 Sennheiser HD660s Shure SRH1540 Tago Studio T3-01 Audio Technica ATH-AD2000X (New) Previously I've picked up Sony MV1 and Audio Technica ATH-R70x. All of them are used except the AD2000x. And even though almost all of them has a long list of "issues" (mostly cosmetic or "smell") and carry a B grade price (i think they grade them in S, A, B and C), they were all probably better condition than the headphones i have at home. So out of two trips, I basically double the number of my collection. Good job my partner is also a music lover so she claimed a few of them for herself to use.

The two most comfortable headphones I've ever tried are Sony MDR MV1 and Sennheiser HD490. They are also both very good at imaging so they are appropriate for gaming. For me, MDR-MV1 is lighter but the ergonomics are slightly better on HD490 because I have a sensitive spot for me on the top of my head, and HD490 has a divot on the headband. For the build I will give it to HD490. It just feels really good and I love the aesthetics MV1 are more exciting sounding with extra bass and treble, while HD490 is more neutral. HD490 comes with two different pads, with producer pads sounding more pleasant for music and comfort while mixing pads are closer to flat neutral. Overrall for sound, I like the MV1 more, tho it is a little bright, so it can get a bit harsh over time. The bass is more distinct, tactile and hard hitting, and overrall sounds more airy and spacious. Mid range clarity is both great, tho I slightly prefer it on MV1. The treble is definitely more pleasant on the HD490, tho the treble on MV1 treble isn't peaky, just overrall elevated. EQing either headphones is quite easy as the frequency response is smooth on both and no narrow band issues. Only wide band adjustments if you want to make changes.

Get a Sony MDR-MV1. It is present in the mid-treble, but it is not peaky but smooth so altering with parametric EQ should be a breeze and it has ample bass. Much more amplitude of bass notes compared to the Sennheiser, and I can help with the DSP stuff u/mayurmasade They're super comfy too

The A306 can do wireless with your XM5. If you connect it wired, the signature will be slightly different because you are not using the DAC from the headphone anymore. If this is your objective, try the XM5 wired and see if you like it first. I feel the A306 pairs well with Sony's own MDR-M1 (closed) and MDR-MV1 (open back). Gives these headphones a little warmth making it a relaxed listen. These have decent build quality and should fit within your budget range as well.
