I have pair of Foestex T60RP mostly for music, but they have great imaging for gaming as well IMO, but when I don't want to go wired, the Audeze Maxwell s are absolutely mindblowing for a wireless headset. Sound quality and imaging are amazing and I think they are comfortable as well.

Most of the time none but when I want better audio I use my Soundcore VR10 which are made for VR and sound great, I also use the recent JBL Tour Pro 4(?) the top tier ear buds with the screen on the charging case. Quality and options are excellent but the only reason I'd consider it is because you don't need to use Windows built in Bluetooth support which is very basic and can have latency. You can plug the charging case in to your PC to have it act as a DAC sending very high quality audio to the ear buds with minimal latency. Edit: I also bought an Audezee Maxwell which is an audiophile gaming headphones but they don't fit over my Quest 3 head strap that is super comfortable and I probably wouldn't wear both on my head anyways.

I've had them for a little more than a year. The dolby atmos feature really elevates my experience in watching movies. I can now fully enjoy the 70gb movies I downloaded. For music is the same you really re discover songs with it. In summer after long sessions I hear sometimes a small popping noise in the headsets but from what i've read it's normal for this kind of headsets if you sweat a lot. The battery life is also insane and it charges really fast.

I assure you, dude, you don't need to overspend on this. Try looking at Audeze Maxwell Series, those cost around $250 in amazon and they're SUPERB. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for gaming headsets. Basically ranked them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find the results helpful? ⁦../../gaming-headset/⁩ You can filter based on usage, connection, and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)

If you can find them for a good price the audeze maxwell i would 100% recommend. Honestly ive used most of the high end gaming headsets and there sound and EQ just have so many issues. Ill also add the build quality tend to break or Fall apart in the same areas. But I'd probably go with arctis 7 line for consoles as the arctis nova pros just arent worth the price.

I personally just got the Audeze Maxwell, which are essentially a hybrid between gaming and audiophile. They're closed backs, but they still sound great. I agree that it's important to take a step away from these overpriced "gaming" headsets that are really just garbage. My previous headset was the Arctis Pro Wireless, which was inferior in every regard, and it was *still* more expensive than the Maxwell's. Really goes to show how poisonous gaming branding is.

I've had mine for about 3 months now, I bought a new strap because the stock one was giving me a headache. I still have issue with them feeling like they are clamping too hard on my head and glasses tho. I have one of the really flexible meshy plastic comfort straps and have one side set to the middle, one side set to the top any looser and it feels like its gonna fall off my head, any tighter and it feels like a vice clamp. That's literally my only complaint. The sound is phenomenal. No issue with speakers, hardware/software or anything buggy on that. If they didn't weigh so much they'd be perfect. But I put on my old Razr Blackshark V2 pros, adjusted the equalizer and in comparison it sounds like actual crap. If I could get this comfort thing under control they'd be absolutely perfect. Sometimes I wish I could exchange them for something lighter but then I want the same kind of sound too. So I guess I'll put up with it until I find a solution.

I cycle between two pairs of headphones while gaming, depending on my mood and I use either; Audeze Maxwell or Epos H6 Pro Open + Epos Gsx 300. I'd give you the following recommendations: Audeze Maxwell if you want closed back and wireless, Epos H6 Pro Open if you want open back and wired.

I've had my Maxwells for a year now. No problems whatsoever, amazing sound quality! My only complaint is the headband, but you get used to it. They're also on the heavier side. However, the sound quality really makes up for everything.

Shocked that nobody has mentioned the Audeze Maxwell. Given your use case and budget they would seem to be a top 3 choice. I've owned a pair for quite a while and they are honestly amazing at both content consumption and also gaming. They come with a mic built in and you don't need a separate DAC/AMP. The Sennheiser 560S and PX38X are also great options.

I owned a pair of Audeze Maxwell and they were the best gaming headset I ever used by a long shot. Unfortunatly tho they use planar magnetic drivers that are very fragile. No matter how I handled them the right driver still broke. Got a replacement pretty easily but unfortunatly almost exactly a year later the second pair had the exact same issue. The Maxwell cost me ~400€ when I bpught them and even tho I would have gotten another replacement I was not willing to get it replaced every year until warrenty expired. For the almost the same money I bought DT 900 X Pro and DT 700 X Pro (names might be different).

I've had mine for about a week or so now. Headset weight really hasn't bothered me - apart from adjusting where it sits on my head occasionally. I do very long sessions every day. I upgrades from Corsair hs80 max. Audio quality on the maxwells is the best I've experienced in a wireless headset. Especially good for music and games with a good soundscape like arc raiders. Can't speak on the microphone as I don't need it. I don't love the button binding for going next/previous music tracks but it's not too bad and I will adjust with time. No regrets on the purchase.

The Maxwell is compared to the Nova Pro a huge up in terms of sound quality. I would call the Maxwell an anomaly in the (wireless) gaming headphone space. Audeze is a hi-fi headphone company where sound comes first, which is apparent in the Maxwell.

Honestly dude for me they have been great!! They sound better than practically any closed back I've ever heard even before eq, I only have to charge them like once every two months, I have them hooked up to my tv and phone also and can just pop the mic off and use them as amazing music and movie headphones. Another thing I like is that they have really good sidetone which is a preference thing but I need it or i yell constantly haha. I also have the sennheiser pc38x and the maxwells poop all over them especially in detail and sub bass if you eq the bass up. I even added a shoulder strap pad from a little gym bag I had and now they are crazy comfortable too haha. Here's a picture [maxwells with shoulder strap pad](https://i.imgur.com/zGPI7rS.jpeg)

It's not wild or uninformed. Truthear hexa might sound better than most gaming headsets but that's not difficult to do and are still trash compared to something like an audeze maxwell. You simply don't understand what the term audiophile means if you think $100 can buy you anything on the level in a gaming headset.

You're going to get a lot mentions for the Audeze Maxwell. I was in your shoes and did TONS of research. Maxwells could do it all. I would say really good in most aspects but not "great." First and foremost, they're heavy, no way around it. Sounds crazy but after playing for a while with them on your head, your neck will develop abs. I didn't run into this but they're by all accounts very fragile. They have multipoint which is nice but not simultaneous. Like if you're connected to usb on your PC and bluetooth. The usb sound will be cut off if you get a phone call. So it's not true multipoint in a sense. I sold mine and I'm currently looking again. I have a pair of Fiio JT1 which are actually really good. Lightweight, wired and to me, better for gaming for sure. I'm also looking at IEMs. Stay away from traditional "gaming" headsets. Everything i've seen seems like the Beyerdynamic DT770s/DT990s are the best bang for your buck. They're under $200, wired and no integrated mic but everyone says the sound is amazing. Also, what are you connecting to? PC, console, phone?

Checked pretty much everything there is on the internet, but most posts are too old now. What I need the most is it to be wireless and preferably have Game/Chat mix. I'm planning to use in only for my PC (for PS5 I have been using Astro A50 gen 4 for 5 years, they are still fine, but I want something new and better + I'm tired to take them from my PC to PS5 every time, so I need one dedicated headset only for my PC). So, out of all headsets here are my picks: - Logitech G Pro X 2 (not sure about the sound, tried them, Cloud 3s sounds better IMO) - Hyper X Cloud 3s (no game/chat mix and 3,5mm unfortunately) - Astor A50X (there is no A50 gen 5 in my country and + I don't want to have 2 almost the same headsets LOL) - Razer BlackShark v3 pro (not a fan of Razer overall, but noise canceling sounds amazing) - Arctis Nova Pro Wireless (heard that it has connection and cracking sound, same as I have on Arctis 7 back in a day) I also had Audeze Maxwell and sold them, unbearably HEAVY, but sounded the best out of all BY FAR. If you have any other recommendations, please, feel free to share. For now I like Cloud 3s the most, probably. But lack of Game/Chat mix and 3,5 jack is what holds me back. I also have HD6xx and I love them, but I hate wires when playing.

I have a TON of headphones - AirPods Max, AirPods Por 3s, Senn HBD630, had focal BathysMG, Sony XMs and more. The maxwells are my best headphones for music. You can eq them to be absolutely stunning. They are also amazing for gaming. Flip to footsteps EQ and you are good to go. LOVE them. They are big and a bit heavy as they are planars but epic. I got the Apos X Capra strap which made a huge difference on comfort and it's cheap. Ear pads are awesome

Well, I've only played a few of the exact same games on both platforms, so a direct comparison is a bit difficult, but, if there was a difference, it was imperceptible or negligible. I had even paid for the Dolby Atmos before the Maxwell's, and I didn't really experience anything noteworthy then either. I suspect that much like PS5's Tempest Engine 3D audio, the efficacy is highly dependent on developer implementation or use.

Agree with comments suggesting planar headphones. I bought the Audeze Maxwells for gaming and they opened my eyes to extreme sound quality. Detail is stunning when EQ'd properly. I just listen to music with them and enjoy. Maxwells are an incredible deal imo and in your budget. I own other very good headphones - sen hd600, Sony XM, AirPods Max etc. Audeze Maxwells smoke them all - another level.

Audezee Maxwell or the Fiio FT1. And as nice as the Sennheiser 620 is, I really feel like the Audezee and Fiio are the best you can get for under $300. Maybe the new Meze Audio 99 Classics, they are supposed to rival the Audezee for best closed back under $300 but I haven't heard them yet. The Maxwell's only issue is weight. They are on the heavy side. I still think they are very comfortable, but if weight is an issue, go with the 99 Classics or the FT1. After that you'd want to save up for the new Sennheiser HDB 630. Feel free to ask any questions about any others, I was on a long running search for 'best closed backs' so I've listened to a ton!

Sound quality is great. Weight is a little on the heavy side but with an after market head strap it's ok. Battery life is great. Dongle connection to PC is spotty sometimes but not terrible. My main issue with them and the ultimate reason I returned is they don't get very loud. For that reason I went a different direction. If your ok with it not getting decently loud I think it's the best headset for the price.

You really don't want to listen to active (aka wireless) headphones plugged into the aux on a receiver; active headphones are designed around their speakers, DAC, and amplifier working together, and they use digital sound processing (DSP, aka EQ) to make their tunes palatable instead of using physical damping to balance out peaks and valleys. When you run them via aux cord, you defeat all of that work and are left with just the physical properties of the headphone. That rarely goes well. Either run them via Bluetooth OR get a dongle if you want low-latency. In this price range, the Momentum 4 ($160-200 depending on sales) are my favorite all-arounder with ANC. If you really don't mind not having ANC, so far I'm really impressed by the Fractal Scape ($200), and after a little EQ the Audeze Maxwell ($300 for PC/PS5, $330 for Xbox version) are really excellent (if pretty heavy). Both the Scape and the Maxwell come with good low-latency dongles, but you'd have to buy one for the M4.

I went from gaming headset to a DT770 about 10 years ago, went through all sorts of different headphones, amp stacks and went down the rabbit hole for a bit. A couple years ago I sold my DT1770 and Schiit stack in favor of the Audeze Maxwell. great headset but it has some issues. Not at all as good as the hype wants you to believe.(Music is amazing, gaming is OK, Durability of those drivers is shit, software is even shittier) Started using that at work for music listening and calls instead and got a basic Steel Series Arctis Nova 7 at home. Also decent, especially for the price. Recently I got an audio interface to fuck around with my guitars and amp plugins. And I tried my old DT770s again through that. The sound is so much clearer so I'm back to using studio headphones again. Thinking I'm gonna get the DT700 and throw those old DT770's back into my drawer, always nice with a backup I guess.

If you're set on wireless I'd take a look at the Sennheiser Momentum 4 and the Audeze Maxwell. The Maxwell does not have ANC but it does have an exceptional battery life, excellent sound quality, and is one of the only wireless headphones competitive with wired headphones in the same price bracket. The Momentum 4 has ANC and a good battery life. It is Bluetooth only compared to the Maxwell's 2.4Ghz dongle so you'll be looking at a bit of latency and reduced quality but you should be used to that coming from a JBL. You can get an aptX low latency adapter like the BTD 600 to solve the latency issue, or you can plug the headphones in via USB when at your PC for uncompressed audio. Then use them wirelessly when you're on the go.

At first I thought "what would you overbass it for?" Then I kept reading and I understand now. I'm glad you found the best suit for you. I may however disagree, and I only say this for other readers to have different opinions/perspectives: B&W PX8 or PX7 S2e sound better overall and the bass remains fun. I prefer the type of bass on the sennheiser's and even the XM5s, but this is always subjective of course. In my opinion, I wouldn't buy the XM4s precisely because of the bass and dark profile drowning the rest of the frequencies and bringing an "underwater" sound like profile. But beware this is my opinion, and just like for op, this profile could be the one that you like the most as it aligns better with your tastes/needs. If I were to choose THE best ANC headphones, I would choose one of these: - Cambridge Audio Melanomia P100 - Focal Bathys - B&W PX8 Also please note the ANC performance of those models is below Sony's XM5s or Bose's QC ultra Disclaimer: I do not play games with the same headphones I listen to music with as I like different profiles for both activities. For gaming I use the Audeze Maxwells and I find them to be a delight
