i have the dt700 pro x and are the best headphones ive used yet
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->HD580 (an older model in the HD5xx/6xx line) is what got me into nice headphones and they were my comfy go-tos for a long, long time. I finally retired them when I got the Focal Elex, because they fit the same bill for forget-they're-on-your-head comfort for me, and the sound was a little better across the board. Gotta say, though, now that I have kids in the house, my closed-back studio headphones (Beyer DT 700 Pro X) are what I would most accurately call laid-back listening. "Blocks out the screaming" has become my top audiophile bullet point.
r/headphones • Your go-to headphones for easy listening! ->I've got the DT 700 Pro X and I love them. Would have bought the 900s but my house A/C is loud
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->Metal cased dt 1990 and I think there's a 7xx version too. Love them
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I have a set of DT 700 Pro X's but have really been enjoying the Ziigaat Arete's on the iem side. Not really an "audiophile", but I love music & gaming. Both sets sound great to me.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • Best headphones for FPS games ->I use these a lot as well. Good sound stage, flat response / slight bass heavy audio. They were my go to headphones for everything until I bought Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pros which are outstanding. The 700s are not your classic "DJ" gigging headphones but audiophile quality, and worth every penny.
r/DJs • Headphones advice ->I did exactly the same 3 months ago. I was sick and tired of constantly killing headphones just from daily use. From gamer-esque wired ones back in the day i'd get a year out of at most, to the wireless gamer ones that I got 15 months out of (just), to the budget ones at 30 gbp that lasted 7 months... I was so tired after 20 years of constantly paying for e-waste. Honestly they've been great so far. I didn't need a DAC either - as they're actually like 5x louder than what I had - so watch your volume :) I got the closed back DT 700 Pro X and they're grand. The good thing is with these - beyerdenamics actually sell bloody parts, so i'm hoping, this ends up being a 3 / 4 year lifespan set of headphones with occasional replacing of the earpads! One little thing I added was I had an old TRS to 3.5mm splitter cable that's maybe 5cm long. I plug that into the PC and plug the headphones into the headphone side of that. this means when i accidentally yoink them (done it a few times now) they just disconnect as opposed to applying any major strain to the headphone cable or connection. I then worried about a mic for the few times I gamed, and I didn't want to go down the typical buy a condensor mic and a XLR input to USB for that, or to buy a modmic (stupid money), so I ended up believe it or not buying a DJI mic mini on sale (2tx +1rx plus case) for like 70 gbp. Comments when I use it rarely are 10/10. plus.. i dont even notice it's there!
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->I've been using the 700 pro x's for like 5 years now and love them. I did have to grab a zip up cover for the top pad because it started separating but I was wearing them for about 6-10 hours a day when I was working from home with multiple roommates also working from home (small condo), but after about $7 on Amazon 3 years ago for the cover I barely notice any wear. Honestly I've been thinking of getting an open backed pair (still deciding if I want to stick with BD or swap it out) but I think you'll be pretty happy with the 900s and if not I can't recommend the 700 pro x's enough.
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->I have both these and the 700s. 700s seem a bit bassier, but I love the way the 900s feel like the sound is in the room with you. Enjoy!
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->Ive been through every major gaming brand headphone and my dt 700 pro x have been my stand out favourite for years.
r/pcmasterrace • Another "Gaming Headset" bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->I have nearly the same model, I have the closed one. They are so good for that price, I suggest you buy an external dac. I bought one for 150 euros and for me it's enough.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Got the d700x pro and they are really nice and really comfortable if you end up needing the closed back. Got them open box for £150 4 years ago and they are still feeling new, build quality is amazing. Very comfortable and really great sound. I had some Sennheiser hd280 pro for like 15 years before that, really amazing build.quakity on those too, just lost them or they'd be back ups right now. Gonna be moving on up to next level soon I think, looking at Meze headphones as they are beauties.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →I have the 700 pro x as well and have converted all of my friends to upgrade that has tried them on lol
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →The Azurys are not good for gaming but the FT1 are actually pretty good for fps as I own a pair myself. But the 700 pro x and the k553 mkii are better. However, I don't recommend the k553 mkii cuz they are a pretty uncomfortable headphone
r/HeadphoneAdvice • View on Reddit →BeyerDynamic DT 700 Pros are insane for the money
r/Deathcore • View on Reddit →Spectacular choice-Beyerdynamic hit it out of the park with the 900/700 Pro X. Amazing sound, super comfortable, and user replaceable parts like cords & cups & headband. On board should be enough to drive them in a quiet room but consider a decent single or dual DAC down the line: not only will you get the extra oomph when you want it but most of them offer balanced audio output. Focusrite sells reconditioned Scarlett solos 3rd gens on their website for like $80 with a 3 year warranty but you can probably find someone selling a used 2nd gen or other solo DAC for much less. fwiw I work & game in a quieter environment too and prefer the open back, I don't like the seashell effect that closed back phones can give me when audio is quiet or off.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Love my avatone planar the ii's (open back) Love my Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X's (closed) At the end of the day, much like speakers and rooms, it's about how things translate to them. You will need to learn them through references and know what they sound like with your favorite commercial mixes and how that relates to how you are hearing your mixes.
r/musicproduction • View on Reddit →I have the DT 700 pro X and they are great! Only problem is the headband that breaks super easily, but I'm hearing they made them more durable, so if yours break just contact them and ask for a new one
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →I mean I'd have to think that's down to your ear shape or how you're wearing them. I have DT 700 Pro's myself and could wear them all day with no issue, I imagine the design is similar to the 990's. If they are different maybe you just need the DT 900 Pro.
r/buildapc • View on Reddit →Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X. Super comfy ear pads and a warm tone with nice punchy bass
r/HeadphoneAdvice • View on Reddit →I dont think your experience was too unique or out of place. Similarly, I have had DT770, DT1770, and now DT700 pro-x. I started with DT770 which are great for what they are. I had an opportunity to buy a used DT1770 at a great price so I did. I went into it knowing that they were similar products in the same family line. They weren't drastically better but they were better. Nothing that would wow anyone, because they are so deliberately similar. There is a market of people willing to pay more for higher build quality, heftier feel, small incremental improvements, higher bragging rights, and that is fine. Its important to go into it with reasonable expectations. In the end, I've sold both DT770 and DT1770, but did find a good deal on DT700 pro-x. I think that having several different headphones is important. Specifically open back vs closed. On an almost daily basis I have need for both open and closed back and I can't imagine not being able to switch back and forth as needed. I have high-end sets, and moderately priced, and it is the cheaper cheaper sets that get used the most. I would always recommend some diversity in headphones before going all in to something higher-tier. I think sub $200 and just above $200 across brands is a really strong sweetspot for value. I've been at this for a pretty long time and I would deffinitely recommend for most to play near that $200 range for a while before going for $400, $600 or similar. The differences between $200 and $400 within a same product line and brand are often not as great as going between brands and product lines in the same $200ish bracket.
r/headphones • View on Reddit →Thanks for this point, I'll look into this. And yes, I'm currently using beyerdynamics DT 700 pro X in my studio, they seem to isolate quite well. And if the ANC doesn't work out in the end (especially because of the negative effect on hearing), I'll try sticking to beyerdynamics.. and maybe a hybrid version - headphones + stage wedges. Thanks for the input.
r/livesound • View on Reddit →I got a Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X (why such a long name?!) And I'm EXTREMELY happy with it. Very good response to all frequencies, very comfortable and it has it's "cushions" made of a velvety soft fabric. It is not very warm after prolonged use, has decent noise insulation and it doesn't start shedding black flakes after a couple years of use.
r/musicproduction • View on Reddit →My personal fav closed back right now is the Sony mdr m1. Fits all your criteria except maybe feeling premium. They are well built and super comfy but don't feel super preem. Awesome bass and sound sig for rock and metal because the highs are very non fatiguing you will have a lot of fun and they play loud. The audeze lcd s20 fits your bill in every way except it's got cables to each ear. For gaming focus and still good for music and wireless the audeze Maxwell works. The beyer dt700 pro and the 1770 are solid options. Try both see what you prefer.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • View on Reddit →Not sure about the nano cortex specifically as I don't own one yet, but I've always been happy about using Neural plugins in conjunction with my Beyerdynamic DT770s, which I later upgraded to a pair of DT700 pro Xs
r/NeuralDSP • View on Reddit →Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X are great open back headphones. Or the DT 700 Pro X if you want closed back. Low impedance and a reasonable price. I have HD25 and the DT900 and if I was mixing in headphones the DT900 are better.
r/DJs • View on Reddit →They are more semi open. I use the 700 since early 23 on the go and bought early last year the 900 for at home second hand
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →definitely won't need an amp for them as I have a -25dB preamp in windows to not go deaf with my DT 700 Pro X, but when using onboard audio they may be sensitive enough to pick up internal EMI from the audio signal. One problem I had was weak glue on the headband but I believe that was fixed in later produciton runs
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →If you dont't need a built in mic, avoid any type of gaming headphones. Instead get something like the Beyerdynamic DT 770/990 pro, DT 700/900 Pro X, Sennheiser HD 490 pro for example. Open back headphones like the 490s, 9xx are better for competitive shooter due to their larger soundstage and precise positioning. May also be more fun for music and single player games. I'm using my DT 1990 pro for basically anything.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • View on Reddit →Ive used the DT700 with the schitt magni + modi combo for nearly 10 years now. The only thing I've had to replace was the headband wrap for $8. Far better sound quality, better comfort, longer lasting. Use an antlion or blue yeti as your mic for simple but effective talking.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Nice! Just keep in mind that the DT990 Pro and Pro X are NOT comparable, they sound vastly different from one another :) (and in my personal opinion the Normal Pro sounds better!) You'll be surprised how neutral they will sound! Also make sure to install Equalizer Apo + Peace and EQ them to your Preference! (AMAZING References can be found here! ~> [List of Presets](https://reddit.com/r/oratory1990/w/index/list_of_presets))
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →It is my first one from BD... But when I was researching that (a couple years ago), I read the same thing - TBH, IMHO the highs are good. I was using a Sennheiser HD 660 before - and this one had its frequency curve biased to mid-highs. But it is the only comparison that I can do.
r/musicproduction • View on Reddit →I have the closed back. There pretty nice!
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Another big fan of the 700 pro X if you need closed backs
r/musicproduction • View on Reddit →I love my Beyerdynamic 700s (770? I can't remember. Not home to look). Only thing I don't like is the unchangeable 20 meter long cord.
r/headphones • View on Reddit →I have the DT 700 PRO X, only 1 complaint, the cable on the headphone side gets in the way sometimes, especially if you have a headphone stand on the desk. Other than that small issue, no complaints.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →I owned a pair of Audeze Maxwell and they were the best gaming headset I ever used by a long shot. Unfortunatly tho they use planar magnetic drivers that are very fragile. No matter how I handled them the right driver still broke. Got a replacement pretty easily but unfortunatly almost exactly a year later the second pair had the exact same issue. The Maxwell cost me ~400€ when I bpught them and even tho I would have gotten another replacement I was not willing to get it replaced every year until warrenty expired. For the almost the same money I bought DT 900 X Pro and DT 700 X Pro (names might be different).
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →I also have the DT 900 Pro X and also the DT 700 Pro X. Both are great! I managed to find a mini-XLR to 3.5mm adaptor that lets me plug in the V-Moda boom mic so I can use it like a proper 'gaming headset'.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →From the top: Fiio FT1 - what can I say? Satisfying and clean bass, great bass texture, fun but clean and clear mids. Treble on the smooth side, but still pretty revealing. Aune SR7000 - great stage with good bass and more natural timbre. They're very comfortable. Sennheiser HD620S - neutral, warm with bloomy mid bass. Analytical, and revealing without being offensive in the treble. Great passive isolation. Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X - neutral with extended sub bass. Shimmery treble, but inoffensive. Very revealing and detailed. Meze 99 Classic - fun, bassy sound. Quite smeary in the mids, but I'm going for them for relaxed listening without fussing details. Harmonicdyne x Zeos Eris - very bassy, very sharp treble. Bass murder if I ever see one. But they're strangely fun. Hifiman HE-R9 - wonky, all over the place. Very bassy and messy. Very v-shaped. A roller coaster of tuning.
r/headphones • View on Reddit →i have them, and a DT 700 Pro X (closed back twin). they're okay. i definitely use a dac/amp. not required but the sounds will be quieter. the catch with these is, you'd have to make your own sound signature, as they are studio-ish type of headphones. that is either good or bad, depending on your expectations.
r/pcmasterrace • View on Reddit →Audeze Sine > Sundara Closed Back > DT 700 Pro X > Mobius
r/headphones • View on Reddit →I bought the DT 700 Pro X at launch, but it really wasn't for me. Super uncomfortable and the headband broke super quick. Now few years later I bought a Sennheiser HD 490 Pro and wow! Absolutely love this headphone. Perfect sound quality for me, great soundstage and extremely comfortable. I'm not an expert and ofc very different heaphones, but this Sennheiser rocks IMO. Very pleased with it.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • View on Reddit →Beyerdynamic really are the shit. Best headphones I've used, though I have the 700 Pro X.
r/Deathcore • View on Reddit →1. The DAC/Amp. I wouldn't spend more than $300 on an DAC/Amp. The Topping Dx5 ii has everything one could need. 6.4W output (more than enough for every Headphones, measures flat, has Bluetooth and has built in peq. 2. There are so many Headphones out there, to buy the perfect one is not the easiest thing to do. My go to recommendation for a high-end pair of Headphones is the Hifiman Arya stealth (as refurb on hifiman webstore for $480 with the coupon) as it delivers a rather big soundstage, with a lot of details and overall good tuning (as long as you have no issues with a bit more treble but you've tested the Beyer's, therefore the Arya shouldn't be an issue) and with a basshelf (which you can add on the DAC/amp with the built in PEQ feature filter: lsq 130hz, 5db q 0.71) it sounds great. * Sennheiser HD 820 (Closed-Back) ($2,199.95 + $500-2,000 DAC/Amp = $4,199.95) (6-48,000 Hz) Not worth it at that price tag especially as you have to fix a couple of issues with EQ) * Sennheiser HD 800 S (Open-Back) ($1,999.95 + $500-2,000 DAC/Amp = $3,999.95) (4-51,000 Hz) Not worth it imo at that price range. There are better and cheaper options. I had the hd800. * Audio-Technica ADX5000 (Open-Back) ($2,199 + $300-1,000 DAC/Amp = $3,199) (5-50,000 Hz) No idea * Sony MDR-Z1R (Closed-Back) (~~$2,099.99~~ $1,899.99 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = ~~$2,599.99~~ $2,399.99) (4-120,000 Hz) Sounds great but the price is too high) * Beyerdynamic T1 (Open-Back) ($999.99 + $500-1,500 DAC/Amp = $2,499.99) (5-50,000 Hz) Not worth it * Audio-Technica ADX3000 (Open-Back) ($1,099 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = $1,599) (5-45,000 Hz) No idea * Beyerdynamic T5 (Closed-Back) ($999.99 + $150-300 DAC/Amp = $1,299.99) (5-50,000 Hz) No worth it * Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO MKII (Open-Back) ($699.99 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = $1,199.99) (5-40,000 Hz) Good Headphone, does a lot of things right but it's not a big upgrade compared to the mk1. Quite comfortable and well built. * Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO MKII (Closed-Back) (~~$699.99~~ $599.99 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = ~~$1,199.99~~ $1,099.99) (5-40,000 Hz) Do not like this Headphone. * Sennheiser HD 660S2 (Open-Back) (~~$679.95~~ $479.95 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = ~~$1,179.95~~ $979.95) (8-41,500 Hz) Not worth it. It's not a substantial upgrade over the og 600 series even though they ask 2-3x more. Get the 6xx over the 660s2 and add a bit of bass) * Audio-Technica ATH-R70xa (Open-Back) ($379 + $300-800 DAC/Amp = $1,179) (5-40,000 Hz) Haven't listened to it. * Sennheiser HD 650 (Open-Back) (~~$579.95~~ $349.95 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = ~~$1,079.95~~ $849.95) (10-39,500 Hz) (Artist Favorite) Warmer 6xx. * Sennheiser HD 600 (Open-Back) (~~$499.95~~ $299.95 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = ~~$999.95~~ $799.95) (12-39,500 Hz) Good Natural sounding Headphone but not exciting. Not for me. * Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO (Semi-Open-Back) (~~$219.99~~ $209.99 + $200-500 DAC/Amp = ~~$719.99~~ $709.99) (5-35,000 Hz) The best Beyer out of the 700,800 and 900 series imo. The most balanced and still fun * Sennheiser HD 620S (Closed-Back) ($399.95 + $100-300 DAC/Amp = $699.95) (6-30,000 Hz) Decent closedback HP. In many ways better than the hd820 but not as resolving. * Audio-Technica ATH-WP900 (Closed-Back) ($699) (5-50,000 Hz) No idea * Sennheiser HD 490 PRO (Open-Back) ($399 + $100-200 DAC/Amp = $599) (5-36,000 Hz) The best Sennheiser Headphone at the moment. Great comfort and well tuned. Good Allrounder. * Sennheiser HD 560S (Open-Back) ($279.95 + $100-300 DAC/Amp = $579.95) (6-38,000 Hz) As refurbished available for $130 on their outlet. Good value. Does a lot of things right. Not the most comfortable (the 490 pro is a straight upgrade) but really good at that price tag. * Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO X (Open-Back) ($229.99 + $100-200 DAC/Amp = $429.99) (5-40,000 Hz) Not great. I would pick the 900 pro x over the 990 pro x. * Sony MDR-MV1 (Open-Back) ($419.99) (5-80,000 Hz) Haven't listened to it. * Sennheiser HD 505 Copper (Open-Back) ($329.95) (12-38,500 Hz) Seems to be liked by a lot of people but havent listenes to it. * Audio-Technica ATH-M70x (Closed-Back) ($329) (5-40,000 Hz) No idea * Beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X (Closed-Back) ($319.99) (5-40,000 Hz) Great comfort, not that well tuned. Better than the 770 though. * Sony MDR-M1 (Closed-Back) ($269.99) (5-80,000 Hz) Haven't listened to them * Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X (Open-Back) (~~$319.99~~ $239) (5-40,000 Hz) Second best 700,800,900 tuned Headphone imo. * Sennheiser HD 599 (Open-Back) ($239.95) (12-38,500 Hz) Not good at that price tag. For und 100 it's okay. * Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X (Closed-Back) ($229.99) (5-40,000 Hz) (Descendent of Artist Favorite DT 770) Terrible imo. Especially the og. Didn't like it. * Sennheiser HD 300 PRO (Closed-Back) ($199.95) (6-25,000 Hz) No idea * Sennheiser HD 569 (Closed-Back) ($179.95) (10-45,000 Hz) Not worth it * Audio-Technica ATH-R50x (Open-Back) ($169) (5-40,000 Hz) Haven't listened to it. * Audio-Technica ATH-M50x (Closed-Back) ($159) (15-28,000 Hz) (Artist Favorite) It's meh. * Audio-Technica ATH-M40x (Closed-Back) ($109) (15-24,000 Hz) It's meh Some other Headphones you can look in to Sub $300: Aune ar5000, fiio ft1 (pro) and Sennheiser HD6xx Sub $600: Hifiman Arya stealth, Hifiman Ananda unveiled, Hifiman XV and DCA aoen x closed, Audeze ls20 Sub $1000: Hifiman He600, Arya organic, Meze 109 Pro and Hifiman Stealth He1000Se I wouldn't recommend spending more than 1k on a Headphone. That my opinion.
