wooting is the premier hall effect gaming keyboard brand with the best software and maturity, and the geon venom is a barebones self-assembly hall effect keyboard with similarly great performance but more customisability.

For a magnetic board right now, I've tried a couple and sent them back, they all have stupid software and the whole point to a magnetic board is to fiddle with the configuration all the time anyway (okay technically incorrect but you know what I mean) you better get something with good software. So that basically means Wooting because Wootility, or Keychron because qmk.

Wooting HR boards for gaming, typing is completely subjective so you'd have to do your research for a good answer. I have a keychron but no pre-built one is going to have the azure dragon v3 switches I swapped into mine.

A little strange, that you're considering TKL and 60% at the same time. If you don't mind ordering from AliExpress, take a look at Weikav K-ONE 80. Don't even consider Steelseries or Razer, if you care about typing feel/sound. I can't justify paying 200$ for plastic case Wooting too. iqunix boards are fine, but overpriced for what they offer compared to the competitors.

I'm in the same boat with my Logitech G15. I miss that beast but it died. No keyboards have that little flip out screen anymore, and especially not ones that use hall effect switches like my darling Wooting. (G15 was just a membrane jobby) Everyone wants _small_ keyboards these days. Eurgh. My desk should look like Nasa mission control. Not some feng shui portrait

Any good board with hall effect or optical switches. Analogue gives you far more precision than digital switches. Lower input latency as well. Wooting is the best in terms of software, and IMO worth the money. There are much cheaper boards like the Epomaker HE80 if you just want to try the feel of hall effect switches. Last time I tried these cheaper brands the input latency was excellent but the rapid trigger support and build quality was mediocre.

Software is why I went with Wooting. I'm becoming a grumpy gamer who wants as little software for my peripherals as possible. The fact that the Wooting is browser based and so simple to use is a huge plus for me. That being said I would be prepared for the stock Lekker switches to suck. If you don't already have keycaps the ones that come stock are surprisingly quality. If you do already have keycaps then I would save some money and get the barebones version so you can choose a different switch. I went with the Gateron Jade Pros and have been really happy with them. The stabilizers on the Wooting are also abominable, but luckily that's not a difficult or expensive fix.

Traditional brands are not better, in fact a lot of them are only living on their brand and marketing these days. You can easily get an Aula or Wooting that delivers a far more premium typing experience than any brand name keyboard that sells for 5x more. It's a no brainer to avoid Logitech Corsair "gaming" keyboards these days unless you like wasting money.

Bro you don't know what you are talking about. Wootings keyboard or the steel series apex Pro is a game changer and a completely different experience than standard mechanical keyboards with the classic red or brown switches. If you are a serious cs player you absolutely should consider buying such a keyboard instead of the other trash gaming keyboards that exist.

If you game a lot, especially in fps games, it'll be a pretty big advantage. I've had a wooting & the advantages were pretty noticable. that being said I still switched back to my custom keyboard after a few months solely because it feels way better, but I am a pretty big linear switch hater.

I'm so confused how "the market has so many options" the market does not have many cheaper options for the only features that actually help in tac FPS games. Razer has one now? It's the Same price but without years of reviews so it's uncertain and Wooting is reliable we all know it genuinely gives competitive advantage. If your to buy a keyboard and truly value performance over all else isn't it like the only option? If you truly value performance over anything else. Rapid trigger with magnetic keys are the only thing about a keyboard that really gives you an advantage right? I'm unaware of anything else that could possibly matter than true performance, rapid trigger and reliability?

i mean i bought 2 budget hall effect keyboards (i collect "gaming" keyboards) and from my experience they sounded and felt horrible, key caps were cheap and got worn out very easy, but you can also just replace those, it's not a big deal, and finally the latency was horrible. for example, in fortnite i average around 10 ping and as a very mechanical player, i felt a huge latency and played better on my razer huntsman, because it had significantly less latency even if it didn't have the adjustable actuation. if you want my advice, don't buy one and save for a wooting tbh. or, for cheaper an apex pro mini. not worth the 50+ dollars your gonna spend after tax and shipping

Another vote for the Wooting. Great keyboard and great software (no download and it works great). Profiles saved to the keyboard. Also updates on 5 year old models. Not sure I'd recommend Razer given their history of not supporting products and locking new software behind buying the newest models... Everything beyond this point is an edit: I forgot to mention sound. I came from a Logitech G513 tactile. The Wooting Lekkar V2s on my 80HE as quite a bit quieter but still have a satisfying thwack when they bottom. My girlfriend usually sits in the room and does her own thing and she's commented that the Wooting is much less intrusive. As others have mentioned, the feel is different than a mechanical. Instead of you pressing the switch and then it getting to a break point where travel becomes easier until bottom, pressure slowly increases as you compress the switch. It took a little getting used to but I like it now. Bottom line: has it made me a better gamer? No, I don't think so. But I enjoy my games a little more now and I don't think I could go back. Kinda like when I switch to 21x9. It didn't make me better (it's objectively a less competitive screen dimension), but I enjoy my games more. I almost exclusively play PVP FPS games.

120-160$ to insure you have the best possible keyboard on the market.... It's the price of the highest performance mice.... A third or less of the price of the best monitors.... Wait I'm confused I'm not a wooting fanboy I've just genuinely never encountered this argument? Anywhere I've ever looked at people who only speak about rapid trigger performance have always said get the wooting? What makes Wooting at all lesser in anyway than another brand of rapid trigger? Is there something I deadass don't know? I've never seen another argument that could possibly matter so I'm genuinely lost? If you don't care about sound or feel or looks, anything like that just the performance of my rapid trigger what keyboard is more reliable?

Analog Keyboards if you're planning on playing anything but WoW Even besides that, the macro the multi-layer keybind possiblities of Wooting for example are endless, wouldn't trade mine for anything else Mice kinda different tho, if you plan on playing anything else (like shooters for example) think about maybe investing in two seperate mice, one for WoW and one for shooters - if all you're playing is WoW just go for the Scimitar or the Aerox

Wooting is expensive but it's very good quality, it aint "overpriced crap". It's just for a different budget. Logitech, Corsair, Steelseries etc. Now that's overpriced crap. As you say though there are good options at lower price points which are worth checking out. Personally I can't recommend Keychron enough, they're more like 100-150 bucks and not 50 so still a bit pricey, but you get some really good quality boards. I believe they have some HE models now aswell.

Latency is a good argument thank you:) the first useful thing you've said. And yes all research points to wooting that I've ever seen. It's the most tested customizable and incredibly reliable state of the art rapid trigger and that is all I care about. These other two you stated I just saw don't even have consistent latency measurements by independent parties yet, unknown reliability. And way worse and less extensive software. Wooting is stilll yet to be dethroned. So you're a moron.

What the poster above implied is that stock of course contactless are the smoothest. When you lubricate a good mechanical switch, however... I beg to differ. I've laid hands and used Wooting HE keebs and Steelseries Apex Pro and I still feel my lubed Marshmallows are smoother (and sound several degrees of magnitude better). Thomas has great reviews and a soothing voice but can be mildly infuriating with some opinions. However, they're his opinions and he's entitled to them and he's mostly correct :)

Yeah, if you don't want to deal with Ali, then just stick with Wooting. Chinese boards are way overpriced, when bought outside of Ali/Tao. Official sites are good example, when something like ATK EDGE 60/68 priced almost 100$ higher (shipping is also not included) on official site than on Taobao. https://preview.redd.it/q9sep5wvnpcf1.png?width=1505&format=png&auto=webp&s=e6f3cfd113b58c687a30c76381330f5ef7617f8f

***Endgame Gear KB65HE*** if youre looking for something 60% and budget. Any from the ***Wooting*** lineup, they're the go to for hall effect and essentially made it a 'thing'. ***Steelseries Apex Pro series*** if you want something more 'premium' with lots of software capabilities. Theres lots of hall effect keyboards, you can find them as cheap as 40 bucks on amazon in the UK, but i wouldnt settle for less than the Endgame KB65HE. All that I mentioned are hall effect and if you want to prioritise movements, you need hall effect.

Many ergo keyboards are not suited for gaming using WASD, some will work if you rebind to ESDF but some are just not well suited for holding in a character in top row pressed down for extended periods. Personally I use one ergonomic (MoErgo) for work and another one (wooting) for gaming. Happy with them both but probably wouldn't recommend MoErgo for gaming even though it works with rebinds. If I wanted a keyboard that does both I'd start looking at Dygma or ZSA but I don't have experience with either.

I bought a magnetic rapid trigger keyboard from Drunkdeer (A75) first, and compared to my old regular mechanical keyboard it was noticeably quicker to stop my character's movement in Valorant. I just bought a wooting for my setup at my other place and compared to the drunkdeer the software is much more refined and consistent and it allows you to swap actuation profiles with a shortcut on the keyboard which the drunkdeer cannot. Overall I don't notice a difference in performance between the two so if you just want a rapid trigger keyboard other brands will also suffice but wooting will probably provide a more refined experience.
