Not good Do the maxwells use planar magnetic drivers which are designed to be inherently flat and play audio in its purists form with little to no enhancements. You'll get bass but not the rumbling/thumping bass you are probably use to hearing in standard dynamic drivers which 99.% if headsets use If you want bass I'd recommend the Astro A50x, Arctis nova pro wireless ore the Arctis nova 7ps. The turtle beach stealth 700 gen 3s are also a good choice The above will give you balanced audio with both bass and clarity/detail. The a50x and turtle beach headset are a smige more bass heavy but not overbearing though

Honestly not great. Quality control is too hit or miss to warrant the prices they're charging, especially for the Stealth 700 Gen 3s. Bought mine and it came with a faulty USB receiver out of the box, got a replacement under warranty and that one ALSO came out of the box with a bad receiver. I really don't know why anyone bothers with TB anymore. They can't be bothered to put in the effort for even their flagship models.

In short: If you aim for sound quality then Pro are better. If you aim for functionality then 700 ar better. Both sounds great, but pro has edge in sound performance, but lack certain funcions like folded mic, separate chat volume and the biggest con with pros is battery life. Yes you get two and swap them, but it is nothing compared to 700's 80h battery life, where you can game for weeks without charging.

Xbox turtle beach was the best for affordability. It's also wireless, operates in Bluetooth or through dongle receiver, and is fairly durable if you store them safely after use.

From what I've noticed, everyone has their own opinions on headphones. I would recommend finding a place with a good return policy (not GameStop) and purchase a few to test out. I did this with the Razer Kraken V3 Pro and the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3. I used them both for about an hour and found things I hated that I wouldn't have known if I had just stuck with one. I kept the Turtle Beaches since I play Xbox and PC, which it comes with two transmitters so it can switch simultaneously. The Swarm II software (on PC) is very easy to use and the EQ is very customizable. Build quality feels solid, but coming from the Razer Kraken V2 Pro (my previous headset I used for years), it has a little more plastic than my liking. Other then my personal preference of wanting a heavier metal headset, the 700 Gen 3 have been wonderful for my setup.

Turtle Beach headsets are a love-hate story for me. For Battlefield games, I've never used anything I liked better. For whatever reason, starting with Battlefield 4 and the 1st gen Stealth 700, these always feel like a cheat code for footsteps in those game for me (and I don't use superhuman hearing mode). But they use cheap plastic. That's basically it. Amazing sound, but they're going to break in time, no matter how gentle you are with them. In the end, I've decided that it's worth it. Just ordered a gen 3 Stealth 700. New Battlefield equals another Stealth 700 that probably won't live for more than a year. It's the sound I want, so it is what it is.

I've tried all of these. The Turtle Beach stealth 700 Gen 3 (not Gen 2 max) is the best out of all the headsets. However, the Sony Explore Earbuds are also fantastic. Turtle Beach has the largest drivers with great mids and deep bass. The Explore uses the Audeze planar Magnetic tech and executes it FAR superior to the Sony Pulse Elite. Don't even consider Pulse 3D. The two I recommended have awesome spatial sound awareness and profiles. They're also exceptional for music and both can dual connect to your PS5 and phone.

The 700 is amazing. Besides the fact when you're playing Fortnite, you can't handle your call and use voice chat at the same time but it's still an amazing headset.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3. I got the XBox version but it comes with two dongles so you can hook it up to both systems and then they have a button that allows you to switch between at will. It's pretty awesome. Also has Bluetooth so I can use it with my phone and with the Switch.

I dont know because the mic I got was for Xbox. It works fine on PC it just doesn't have the features as a PC mic would (I would think). But I can easily adjust volume, mic monitoring, i can hear perfectly, and speak perfectly. Maybe the microphone may sound a bit off compared to PC mike since they are made for it but never had anyone say you sound weird or whatever.

We have always used the stealth 700 turtle beaches...when those inevitably broke after years of use, my husband and I switched to astro A30's. They are dog shit. I'm going back to turtle Beach. They are a little more expensive at $250-$300 if I remember correctly, but 1000% worth it. This is coming from someone who mains Cav and hearing is everything.

The last update fixed the mic (one one I assume you had to dl) it didn't fix the mic sensitivity defaulting to 100% but with the update it seems to have fixed the clipping when the mic sensitivity is at 100% so I've been leaving it there (it gets to be a pain to have to adjust it every time you shut off the headset) and all my friends on Xbox, PS5 and Discord say it sounds great. I've been maining it since the last update and I really like the headset (it doesn't sound as good as my Maxwell's) but the feature set on the 700 gen 3's i are way better for my use

Not sure, they do not hurt my head and I have worn them for 8 hours before. I have the gen 2 max and these feel better to me but both are pretty comfy. I may just be used to the weight. I've had the steel series 7p+ and they are very light and comfortable but the sound does not compare at all. I play a lot of single player, cinematic games and these gen 3s and gen 2s do that extremely well.

Depends on your budget, of course, but I have a pair of turtle beach stealth 700 and they're really good on Gentoo, 2 dongles, Bluetooth. There's an issue I have with Manjaro where the sound daemon doesn't pick up the device properly after it's been power cycled, and I have to replug the dongle on that machine. But I've never had that on my Gentoo box so I'm assuming it's either some oddity with that laptop or systemd being systemd again on that machine.

Stealth Pro for $165 or 700 Gen 3 for $150? Console gaming only. Xbox and PS5. Wear glasses. Sound quality is priority. Also, I know the Gen 3s are easy to switch between with the two dongles included. Are the Pros easy to switch between? Update: Ended up going with the Gen 3s for one pivotal reason. Did not realize I couldn't connect the transmitter to both PS5 and Xbox at the same time. I spent some time looking so see if a USB-C splitter would work, so that I would just have to hit the switch on the transmitter, then realized the transmitter would be behind the TV in an awkward spot to hit said switch. So even if the splitter idea worked, it would be a pain to switch between the two. The Gen 3s come with two dongles. To switch between them is a simple press of the button on the headset itself. Made all the difference to me. Thank You everybody for all your input.

The problem with the Gen 3 is the mic. It is horrendous. Compared to the Gen 2 or stealth pros. Hoping there is an update to fix it. Also I have the Xbox gen 3 and on the USB dongle the mic sensitivity doesn't save. So after you power off and power back on it defaults to100% sensitivity which causes clipping and over modulation (I have a ticket with turtlebeach and I am working with them to fix this). Also look at other reviews on the headset and watch gadgetry tech he does a review and mic test so you can hear for yourself and his yt comment also can help

If this helps, my top 3 headsets are, in no particular order (rankings below), the Astro A50's, the Audeze Maxwell and the new SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Elite - with the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless right behind 'em. Here are my breakdowns, as someone that owns all of them (well, minus the Nova Pro Wireless - I don't have them any longer since I've upgraded): The Audeze Maxwell have, hands-down the absolute best audio quality I've ever heard in a pair of headphones. However, that being said...they're hella uncomfortable. Even with Wicked Cushions pads and headband. They're just soooo heavy that I (and many others) struggle to wear them for extended periods of time (for me, over an hour). The firmware also has a history of ring an absolute mess and the phone app is garbage. As for the Arctis Nova Elites and the A50's, it a tie! I truly cannot figure out for the life of me which I like best, but factoring in everything, I'm leaning towards the Arctis Nova Elites - by a small margin. I've not really had the Nova Elites for long enough to compare. Comfort on both are top-notch. The mic does take the win for the A50's, tho - it really has one of the best mics on a gaming headset! The Arctis Nova Elite mic does still have that "tinny" SteelSeries sound, but not as bad as their other models. But yeah, sound quality on both are God-Tier... just under the Maxwells. It really boils down to what you prefer. The A50's have a docking station, so they're always charged. The Arctis Nova Elites have a swappable battery. So again, it's always charged, but with a little more effort, lol. I also do think the Nova Elites look better, overall. Oh and Astro just released a new badass orange color in the A50X's (see more info on that in my rankings, below)! I will also say...if this is important to you... the A50's only support 16bit at 48kHZ on console and only 24bit at 48kHz on PC. The Nova Elites, however, support 24bit at 48kHz on console and 24bit at 96kHz on PC! 👀 And then, right behind those, I rank the Nova Pro Wireless. A lot of the same feature and functions as the Elites, but the audio isn't AS good, nor is the build quality. So, my personal rankings are: 1: SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite if money is absolutely not an object/concern. The app experience is pretty great, as well! These are my main for the PS5, as that is my primary gaming system. 2: Astro A50 or A50x. Both are the same headset, but the docking station for the A50x is great for multi-platform use and even has HDMI passthrough so you can even get true Game/Chat Mix on PS5! It's one of the only headsets that have this unique feature and that's implemented so perfectly. Otherwise, the A50's are identical, minus the HDMI passthrough inputs. I use these as the main on my PC (RTX 4090, Intel 14th Gen i9 and 64GB DDR5 RAM) with the Logitech GHub program, so I've not tried the app, if there is one. 3: Audeze Maxwell. Absolutely phenomenal sound and aesthetics, marred by an extremely heavy weight, bad firmware and PC program, as well as a terrible app experience. But seriously...for these, the sound truly does make up for all the negatives! 4: The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. If you want all the features and functions of the Nova Elites, but don't mind the slight downgrade in sound quality. 5: As an honorable mention, I'm putting the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3's here. Not only are they not too expensive, the have the best sound of any $200-range headphone I've ever used. Hella comfy and the dual-dongle works perfectly and without flaw. Meaning, you can have a dongle on one device, the other on another device and switch between them ...INSTANTLY. It truly is amazing to see it in action. And the sound is superb for the price range! The app also isn't bad, either! And of course, I absolutely recommend...regardless of the headphones you get...invest in a pair of Wicked Cushions to maximize comfort and sound (I personally use and love their Freeze ones - they're a "cooling" memory foam) Hope this helps!!!

I have owned the Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 3 headset for a little over a month and thought I would give a review for those that may be thinking about purchasing. I need a headset that is not full leather or pleather around the cups because not only do I not like the feeling of pleather on my ears, it also gets too warm over any game session. I also wear glasses so I need a headset that can accommodate that. The Gen 3s do have a pleather outer cup but the part that rests against your ear, is a nice cloth, and it does not get too warm. Very comfortable. I bought the white PlayStation Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 3. I also have the 700 gen 2 Max. There is nothing wrong with my gen 2 max. Still sounds awesome, still in perfect condition (I can't fathom how people are breaking these things, arms or whatever, I place mine carefully on my head and then back on my headset stand when not in use) but I saw the new 60 mm drivers on the gen 3 and since the gen 2 are 2 years old and Black Friday knocked off 50 bucks, and I no longer have an Xbox and I no longer game on pc (got the PS5 Pro) I decided to try the gen 3s. Keep in mind, there are 3 versions of this headset, the pc, the Xbox, and the PS. I got the PS because I only play PlayStation and Nintendo Switch so I can only speak on the performance on the PS version. It is phenomenal. The fit is better than the gen 2 max, it is MUCH louder than the gen 2 max, they connect to the PS much faster than the gen 2s, and the sound quality is a lot more crisp while maintaining that awesome bass tone TB is known for. Signature sound is ok but I changed the eq settings to the "standard v" (if you're not sure what that is, The Techne" on YouTube did an episode on the 700 gen 3s and he shows you) and I really really like the sound they produce. The battery lasts an extremely long time. They lasted a month before they hit 18% and started beeping at me letting me know to recharge. First thing when getting them open. UPDATE THEM! I turned on both, the Nintendo Switch and the PS5 Pro, and then connected 1 dongle to my Nintendo Switch dock and the other to my PS5 Pro usb c port (I use a usb a to usb c adapter so I can connect the dongle in the front of the PS5 Pro). I turned on the 700 gen 3s. I then opened the Swarm app on my IPhone, connected the headset, and was immediately prompted with an update, which was quick and completed in full. I then turned off the 700 gen 3s and charged them to full (the red light will go off when fully charged). Sound is awesome, I've played the last of us part 1, robocop rogue city, Spider-Man 2 and GTA V and all sounded excellent with no drops in connection and no crackling like my gen 2s would occasionally do if I moved too far away from the dongle, and my friends had no problem with my voice, said it sounded just like the gen 2 max. This headset gets really loud. I have mine set to halfway on the Swarm app and that is plenty loud for me, I wouldn't suggest playing them much louder for a long time, could damage hearing. Overall, I really like them. They are very comfortable, the sound is great, the battery lasts an extremely long time before charging, I like how I can answer my phone or listen to music while gaming (the extra volume wheel on the right side of the headset to control Bluetooth volume is fantastic), I really like being able to change settings on my phone while playing PlayStation without having to get on a pc, and I like being able to switch between my Nintendo Switch and my PlayStation with the press of a button. It is a great headset that ticks all the boxes.

So, I'm thinking about just making these my PS5 cans! I just feel like for the Obsidian color, they didn't put as much effort into it as they did the Sage + Gold and were like OK, let's just make them all black and shiny as hell! 🫠 You gonna get some Wicked Cushions for yours?

I hope it's more of a firmware thing. After a few hours of use now I'm kinda getting used to it. My friends all say the mic sounds crisp and clear so that's a plus. I'm very pleased with the sounds as well. And the AI they advertise actually works. With my gen 2s people could hear my dogs bark in the other room and now they can't.

I would get the 700s I had the stealths before and did not like them. Not very comfy, ear pads were not comfy so you have to spend another $30 on wicked cushions. The sound out of the box was worse than my 700gen 2. Swapper battery is kind of overrated. I charge my maxwells every few weeks and it's great not being bothered with that stuff. I don't think the stealth pro is really worthy of being a flagship headset for the brand. It's just not that great overall. They are are one of the weakest entries in the price range if you compared to other $300+ headsets

The Stealth 700 Gen 3's are amazing for their price range! They are also decent for footsteps. Moreso with their Superhuman Hearing feature. ..but that just makes the rest of the audio sound like garbage, unfortunately. For footsteps specifically, it absolutely doesn't get much better than either the A50's or the Nova Elite/Nova Pro Wireless. The Audeze are also right behind them, in that department.

I ended up with the 700s. I bought and returned the Pros without using them. They were definitely more premium in terms of look and feel. The deciding factor was the ease of switching back and forth from the Xbox to the PS5. The 700s come with two dongles, so all I had to do was was push a button from the headset. To get the same results for the Pros I would've needed a USB-C splitter and multiple cables, and I still would've needed to get up and goto the base station to flip the switch.

I did. Instead of commenting on the sound I'll just leave the grades. 700 Gen 3 Tone: C+ Tech: C They do not land a recommendation from me.
