I had some years ago and it was a very handy feature...though yes, windows now does much better, channel-based volume control. Still not as cool as a dial on a box though :)

Steelseries 7p or 7x probably gonna be your best bet and finding them used will be even cheaper. There are others id recommended but there over 100
r/playstation • What are the best gaming headphones in the $100 or less category? ->This take is stupid. It depends entirely on what you're doing with them. I don't WFH, no zoom calls, and I'm not a streamer. I've found my Arctis headset to be convenient and perfectly adequate for playing BF6 or Arc Raiders with a couple friends. I have some Edifier MR4 monitors that I use when not using the headset. Picked them up for $80 on black Friday a couple years ago. Pretty happy with those as well, though I'm no audio engineer.
r/buildapc • Is it just me or we barely talk about the audio in a built? ->Audeze Maxwell - Considered one of the best wireless gaming headsets. Popular with music creators as well as for gaming. Mic is reasonably good, though can clip a little. Comes with leather earpads, but they can be replaced easily. Drop + EPOS PC38X - One of the best wired gaming headsets for sound clarity and mic quality. Bass reproduction is a bit muted, which is common for older style EPOS / Sennheiser headsets, and common with open back headphones in general. The mic is essentially the best of any consumer headset you can buy. Generally can only be bought directly from Drop's site. Comes with both cloth and velour earpads. The overall audio quality isn't as good as either the Maxwell or PC38X, but they're closed back so their bass response is more like the Maxwell. And the mic quality is generally better than the Maxwell, but no where near as good as the PC38X. Most (maybe all?) use cloth earpads. Nova Pro Wireless and Nova 9 are both quite good, with the Nova 9 being slightly better in terms of audio clarity and mic quality, but the Pro Wireless has better bass and noise cancelling.

r/XboxGamers • Headset recommendations ->No, I downgraded from the Nova Pro Wireless to the 7X. The only loss was the Line-In from my PC's speakers. Otherwise, the audio quality on the 7Xs are fine, the wireless range is no worse, and I don't have to worry about the shitty durability of Steelseries, where your $300 headset breaks after 1-2 years.

As for comfort: I have a large head, and am finding the clamping a bit tight however, and the earcups just fit around my ears - it's a bit snug. Nothing bad, per se, but not quite in the super comfort zone of some other headphones. They'd be fine for gaming sessions, but not something I'd want to wear all day. I'd have preferred a bit more of a relaxed fit. On the other hand, a relaxed fit means very big headphone that can turn some people off.

The new Nova style feels like it's for kids heads and ears. So much smaller. Also, have you tried getting a new dongle instead? You could try and locate and 7X+ dongle and pair the headset and see if you get more life out of them?
r/steelseries • View on Reddit →Id say Arctis but that's really only because I like not having a mic sticking way out SteelSeries Arctis does have better audio quality, but that will be redundant because you don't exactly need higher sound quality to have a better sense of direction, it'll only give you a better listening experience I recommend using SteelSeries Sonar, it'll work with either headset and has nice EQ presets that can really take any headset a step farther for gaming use than any stock headset

I sound clearer, I hear better, and i spent roughly the same amount on the new stuff that I did for the Steelseries. No control software bloatware, everything plug and play.

Not quite as good as my high end audiophile headphones, but very, very good compared to most gaming headsets. I'd rate them in the same class as the Audeze maxwell. Happy to listen to music on them. r/playstation • View on Reddit →I've had them about 8 months now, previously using artic 7 for the past 9 years. the only thing that has me reaching for an old pair of wired Serbia v2 that I retired 9 years ago is the half second delay when skipping YouTube or using the mic. Replacement ear pads from aliexpress are a must and the headband can be made to work but it's never going to be as comfy as the artics was without spending the $$ Coming from using [trying to] the steelseries software for the past 9 years, the audeze program isn't that bad as a basic eq and settings place (steelseries did have a very customisable eq page), eq's are stored on board and can be changed via a phone app too.

I later got the nova 7x and love it much more than the arctis 7x. The nova has much better sound, fits better, has USB C charging, and fast adaptive charging.

If you're looking between the two pros I really recommend the Nova, even with the price bump. I loved the Arctis 7x and had them for over 5 years. I tried replacing them with the Arctis Pro Wireless but after three weeks I ended up returning them. Issues included constant white noise, poor bluetooth range, crackling noises on every connection, and an uncomfortably tight fit. The Arctis Nova Pro was $120 more but so much better in every way, it feels totally worth it. It's super comfortable, has a smaller profile than the Arctis, and has a better bluetooth range. Most importantly it's completely silent: for the Arctis Pro I was part of the minority who heard the white noise and it drove me crazy, but the Nova is as silent as a pair of Airpods. Other improvements like the mic, build material, and replaceable batteries were all great too.

I didn't like the weird headband on the Steel Series Arctic line. For me it was not comfortable at all. I had a previous version of the Arctis with the little dock and hot-swap batteries, and I LOVED that battery switch feature.

First pair I bought which is the Siberia v2s (iirc) are still working beautifully and I use them with my PS5 when I travel for work. My second pair is an arctis wireless pair, forget the model, but they only got replaced because I was given my current ones as a Christmas present. Zero issues ever.

I get basically half a day of life out of the batteries and now a few months in they don't seem to be charging all the way and the headset says the battery is empty and the charger says it's partially full. Not sure I'll ever get a wireless headset that requires manual battery changes ever again.
