Ninja - Express Chop (NJ100GR, NJ110GR, NJ100WM)

I just bought one of the Ninjas from Myer on sale for $40. It was cheap and cheerful and has been perfect for those jobs, just be careful of the blades they’re super sharp. I think the capacity is 2 cups

I love my Ninja food chopper express. It's a mini food processor. Small, powerful, not too many pieces to clean. I have a smaller kitchen and no dishwasher so many gadgets are more space/cleanup than they're worth... but this one I reach for regularly. Downside--it was under $25 when I originally bought it and now up to about $50.

We use the heck out of a Ninja 3-cup mini-chopper that was actually an optional attachment for a Foodi Power Mixer. But I'm pretty sure Ninja has the same thing as a stand-alone item. Whichever you decide to get, look for one that has two pairs of blades mounted on the vertical shaft. We had a mini-chopper with just one pair of blades at the bottom of the shaft that did not work well at all. The food at the bottom would be mush, and the food at the top would still be in big chunks.

My experience with mini food processors is they won’t exactly shred cheese, but if you cut your cheese into small pieces and stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes, then chop it with the chopping blade (usually S shaped) you’ll get basically the same effect.

I love my mini food processor. it is about 3 cups… I use it for garlic and ginger and small amounts of tomatoes. it takes up much less space in the dishwasher. I have a ninja one.

I loved my big food processor because it could shred a 2lb block of cheese in about 10 seconds. But cleaning it was a bitch. It took up like the whole top rack of the dishwasher. Now I have a mini ninja food processor and I use it allllll the time. Making cookie crumbs for crusts, salsa, tomato sauce, chop onions, etc.

We have a large KitchenAid food processor with a variety of discs and blades, but mainly use a Ninja 3-cup food chopper instead. I loathe the texture of cooked zucchini, carrots, and bell peppers, but am fine with the taste. So, finely chopping those veggies and disguising them in lasagna works great. A mini chopper also does well for dicing onions, making salsa, and repurposing pot roast to make enchiladas and meat pies. When looking for a small food chopper, get one that has blades going up the spinning vertical shaft ... not just a pair of blades at the bottom. My previous mini chopper with a pair of blades at the bottom just mauled the vegetables. The Ninja one has four blades. It is actually an attachment for an immersion blender power stick, but I believe the company makes free-standing models. I have not checked to see what companies make similar mini choppers.
