I have the Venu 3 and I think it's great. Haven't tested the gym workouts though. I would definitely go with this watch if your looking for a more smart watch rather than a running watch, in that case I would pick the forerunner. The battery life for the Venu watch is great, also the voice assistant is a pretty nice feature. The one thing I'm missing on this watch are maps and waypoints navigation that the new forerunner watches has.
r/Garmin • Is the Garmin Venu 3 the best choice for my needs? ->The sleep tracker works really well, way better than my old watch which was the Vivoactive 3. It's really accurate regarding sleep and wake up time. Also the sleep stages and sleep score feels accurate, for example when drinking, I always get a really low score and often I feel that I have slept like shit. 😠Battery lasts more than a week but that depends on how much you use the GPS, AOD etc. If I don't use AOD, It last for about a week (with still ~ 10% left) normally with 3 long running activities. With AOD, it's like 3-4 days. Edit: Some third part watchfaces consumes alot of battery so it also depends on what face that is used.
r/Garmin • Is the Garmin Venu 3 the best choice for my needs? ->My partner and i have venu watches for health and fitness monitoring, we also had a stronger use case for health. Ours don't have the ekg function, but do provide the sleep tracking, hrv/stress scores as body battery, and the spo2. On that - the battery does drain easily if you have that on 24/7, at least on our watches!
r/Garmin • Looking for the Best Garmin Watch for Health Monitoring (Not Fitness) ->Just did this. From the series 8 once the battery couldn't last a day. Ended up going higher to the forerunner (thanks REI 90 day returns) bc the trade offs of losing some of the apple integrations wasn't enough gained on the venu The activities list is really limited. And its integration with Strava sucked a bit more than the Apple Watch. I could at least pick specific activities through Strava app on my watch if they didn't come built in on apple activities, but you can't edit the data fields on that. I wanted both. I only got about 4 days of battery, not super worth it IMO. Just enough I wouldn't have ti charge it daily but not enough that I wasn't frequently like "oh, I'm kinda low on battery" No unlocking each other, (phone and watch) or my MacBook for work. I miss it auto doing that the most Media players kinda suck Biggest is custom notifications on my watch vs my phone. I had to basically go in and do an overhaul so it wasn't constantly pinging me with useless notifications I had silenced on my watch but not my phone Activities pages were limited. They were limited on the Apple Watch too but I was hoping for an upgrade here. I upgraded to the forerunner 970. Big jump. But it has a LOT more data points readily available. It's more of what I was looking for.
r/GarminWatches • Venu 3S vs Apple Watch ->The venu's activities were extremely limited. It had the basics but that was it. Specifically it didn't have trail running or backcountry skiing for me, basically my two biggest sports. I'm not sure about tennis. I bet it did tho. So that was probably the biggest reason. Second was the activities data page was limited, only 4 max data points. For backcountry skiing I like knowing distance, current elevation, total ascent, time, and heart rate. For trail running, the same plus pace. So that and I didn't think I needed the navigation, but Sunday, the day I decided I really should upgrade, I got soooo off course. My bike Garmin would have told me way sooner that I was off course and that's all I wanted.
r/GarminWatches • Venu 3S vs Apple Watch ->One more thing I thought of this morning OP. Since upgrading to the forerunner, I've noticed the stress tracking/training elements are far superior. Mentioning it bc you mentioned the stress tracking specifically. I can't remember if the Venu had a morning AND nightly report, but the training readiness, training status, running tolerance on the forerunner is so nice to have. You might be able to get that through the venu or the connect app, but I didn't find it easily. But you should def look into this before purchasing. After I bought it I found out the venu is supposed to be more of a "lifestyle" watch. That makes me feel like it's for the people who want to say they have a Garmin without the bulkiness of one? I think it's a lower tiered watch with more smart watch integrations like Siri, but I felt it didn't even do that well. If you're in the US, I bought my venu through REI because of their return policy and partnership with Garmin. I think you have 90 days to decide if you like it? After not even 2 weeks I think is when I realized I wanted a higher level Garmin and just straight exchanged it for the forerunner 970.
r/GarminWatches • Venu 3S vs Apple Watch ->I have a Venu 3 and I love it.
r/GarminWatches • Which garmin for general wellness? ->Yes, the Venu 3 is a great start in my opinion. It is the first step on your fitness journey. Take it one day at a time, stay consistent, and you will keep improving your habits. Cheers!
r/Garmin • Is Garmin or Fit best for stress and burnout recovery? ->I wouldn't be afraid of buying a Garmin watch for open water or pool swims. I have a first generation instinct since the summer of 2020. I've worn it everyday no matter what. If you don't like the look of the instinct, I would look at either the Fenix, Enduro. The forerunner has a bezel but it's not as raised I feel. Really any of their watches that includes the feature of a raised bezel I gravitate towards. For me, anyways, watches that don't have that feature end up with a cracked screen like the venu and the vivoactive with the rounded edge of glass hasn't lasted for me which is why I prefer that raised bezel. Garmin has always been good and replaced them for me in the past but once the warranty is done, there's no more replacement. Hope this is helpful and keep going.
r/Garmin • Pool swimming killed my Apple Watch, now I want to switch to a Garmin ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I would personally always take a Forerunner over the Venu series, as I am pretty serious about my fitness. I don't really care much about smart watch features, just need a bare minimum. And the venu series seems to take tradeoffs with fitness features to accommodate the increase in smart features.
r/GarminWatches • Help me decide between venu 3 and forerunner 265! ->I have watched his videos to, all of them. i also now own a garmin venu 3. That being said, apple isnt accurate in everything. For example how many kcal you have burned is always off on apple. Than have you seen the video's of his girlfriend that tested it? these measurements are all WAY more accurate with the Garmin than from himself. That being said, does it matter if it sometimes is a bit off for example the hearthrate? If you care about HR that much, a cheststrap is always more accurate.
r/Garmin • Are Garmin watches actually worth it? I was surprised by the data. ->I don't think I'll be buying another Garmin, after my Venu 3. It's my first Garmin product, and while I really like the watch itself, the software leaves a lot to be desired. There are still plenty of bugs for example, the text in the weather app doesn't display correctly, I can't reply or see if I receive more than two messages, and Snapchat is riddled with issues. Sometimes it shows a picture on the watch, but most of the time it's just a red square. And if you want to disable a single sensor, like for steps? You can't you have to turn everything off instead. Want to call with your watch? make sure you get some hearing aids because you cant hear shit... For 500 euro's i exepected WAY more.... A Samsung watch of 150 euro's can do this stuff really good, but the battery life is bad.
r/Garmin • Garmin fenix 8 pro is a bit underwhelming to me,what are your thoughts. Am I wrong? ->Gonna be the negative Nancy here and have to say my vivoactive 3 music died in three years, then the refurb I got to replace it (paid refurb, 90 bucks, not warrantied) broke in another 3. It came apart due to some medium force so I can't 100% say it was its fault but I have reason to suspect that it was beginning to come apart about 3 weeks prior to the incident (screen was glitching for a few hours, was randomly acting up) and that might just have been the final straw. I did still get a new venu 3 tho. It works well and I don't have to charge every day, that means a lot to me lol.
r/GarminWatches • Question on longevity of Garmin Watches ->I would personally always take a Forerunner over the Venu series, as I am pretty serious about my fitness. I don't really care much about smart watch features, just need a bare minimum. And the venu series seems to take tradeoffs with fitness features to accommodate the increase in smart features.

r/Garmin • View on Reddit →Honestly your best bet would be a Venu or an instinct, Venu is Garmin's health and fitness while instinct is there more traditional "G-Shock" style (best way I can describe it) watch, they don't really do the fitness tracker it's mostly all smartwatches. I have the Venu 4 coming from an instinct 2 solar. The vivo moves might also fit you well but they are older in comparison. If you are set on not having a smartwatch you may have to look into another brand, hope this helps, if you have any questions about the Venu or instinct let me know!

r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I'm getting a Venu 4. It's 20 bucks less than the 570, and from what I can see, it's missing swim drills, which is something I don't use now. I also like the look of the Venu over the 570, though I wish Garmin would bring back copper/rose gold bezels/cases. I really liked that colour on my original Venu.
r/GarminWatches • View on Reddit →I have experience with multiple Garmin watches and the Pixel Watch 3 but will both track sleep and health really well. The question is do you want A) a smart watch that integrates really well with your phone and can do cool things but has a shorter battery life, or need LTE or B) One that has less smart watch functions (but can still respond to texts and show messages) but only needs charged once a week or less and can track many walks or other activities during that time. I have a Venu 3 and really like the Garmin health tracking system and battery life, but also have a pixel watch 3 that I use for taking calls on runs and better interactions with my smart home setup. I've tested the sleep tracking on both and it's pretty similar.
r/GooglePixel • View on Reddit →You need to ask yourself what she'll actually be using it for. If you're just doing basic fitness tracking, then she likely doesn't need a Fenix and a Vivoactive or Venu series would be the best bet for her. Use the website to compare devices with the activities she does regularly.
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I have an old 2019 original Venu still going strong 💪🼠it still kicks out 3 to 4 days of battery 🔋 life good for a six year old watch. And still receives software updates but doesn't get new features. Currently I rock a Garmin Venu 3 & love it!
r/GarminWatches • View on Reddit →I use a Garmin Forerunner watch, and it displays heart rate while tracking activity. The reading is pretty visible to me even with slightly foggy goggles but ymmv. They have a lot of models with this capability, so maybe you can find one with a bigger screen. The default heart rate screen also has a colored Zone indicator, if that's easier to see & you're not looking for exact numbers https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=kbOXNev7NS4DQcc3IjAV49
r/OpenWaterSwimming • View on Reddit →Coming from WearOS watches, I am much happier with Garmin, mostly because of the battery life. You might want to take a look at the Venu 3 as it would give you a lot of the features you need at a much lower price then the brand new Venu 4. I have the Venu 3 and I've been very happy with it. I am primarily a cyclist. I occasionally hike and do cardio exercises twice a week. I am not a runner at all. So I personally would never benefit from all the additional running stats that the Venu 4 provides. I do use the voice assistant capability on my Venu 3 quite a bit, though that's gotten a little slower with Gemini, it still works well enough. I get a wealth of stats on my sleeping, my calorie burn, my heart rate and heart rate variability, stress and a number of other things. The fact that the battery can last almost a week means that I have no trouble sleeping with it overnight and getting continuous stats. I can tell you that I have no problem responding to text messages from my watch and it's nice that Garmin also has the ability to respond to many notifications as well. It may not be 100% integrated with Android like the pixel watch would be. But for me it's good enough. Overall, it's the battery life that wins the day for me with decent integration with Android being nicer than I expected.
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I have the Venu 3 - don't get it. It's designed more for indoor health tracking and a nice screen at the expense of battery life, but neither of those match with the use case you describe. As for your last question, it really depends what you want. The Galaxy Watch 6 is probably close in features to my Pixel watch 3. They're both designed to mimic smart phone features or have rich connections with the phone or have their own cellular connections. Garmins are more focused on fitness / health tracking with limited smartwatch features like being able to see and respond to messages. The benefit is that the battery life is much longer, like you said.
r/GarminWatches • View on Reddit →Second the venu 3. I love it. It's a great all around watch for daily wear and general fitness, and the golf features are solid - it does everything I need on the course. I use it for distances, tracking shots and club stats, and keeping score. All pretty seamless and easy to use during a round. I believe you can pay for a Garmin golf subscription and unlock even more features if desired

r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I've recently purchased the Garmin Venu 3 and even though you need a separate app with it, I really like it! It works well and the battery has a long life (especially compared to the Apple Watch.)
r/smartwatch • View on Reddit →My venu 3 is 5 days almost exactly every time. I use the overnight spo2 monitor though cause I was curious
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →Is it better for heart rate? My Venu 3 is going crazy with cadence lock and other

r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I have a Venu S and really appreciate the smaller size. I do occasionally find myself wishing I had more metrics, but it definitely covers all the basics!
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →Cool. Almost all Garmin models are Bluetooth/WiFi only. You'll get 2 free years of data and texting with a Pixel watch 3 or 4 LTE, but can cancel after, not activate it or buy the WiFi only version for a little cheaper. As far as subscriptions both Garmin and Fitbit offer subscriptions for AI workout recommendations and analysis but all regular health and sleep metrics are free. The Fitbit one has an instructor led workout component like peloton and Garmin is trying to be an all trails competitor but I've never paid for either and have never felt like I'm missing out.
r/GooglePixel • View on Reddit →I switched to the Venu 3 because I wanted to Able to trigger Siri from my watch. I've used it 3 times the last month I've had it. Maybe not worth it. I'm not super athletic but I wish I would have gone with the 265 or 965
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →That was exactly my take as a Venu 3 owner. In fact, if anything, it has one less button and less battery life, so I'm not sure why I'd buy this.
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I used to swear by fitbit. My mileage and pace was RIGHT where I wanted it to be. Then I was due for a new watch and chose garmin. My pace was off by about a minute per mile and my fitbit was about half a mile off per mile. It frustrated me immensely. I assumed it was a watch issue. It was a me issue. I only use garmin. I used a pre-owned garmin venu 2 forn2 years since I had never used a garmin. I bought a new venu 3 and looove it!
r/XXRunning • View on Reddit →The Venu 3 had this and you'd activate it with the third button, which Venu 4 removed. Even if Venu 4 may still contain the feature, note that it was horrendously buggy on Venu 3.
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I have the Venu 3 as well and I think it's a great size on my wrist. I love it. Still trying to find my favorite watch face though.
r/GarminWatches • View on Reddit →If you just want a smart watch with great battery and don't care about all the sport features, this is definitively a downgrade from the Venu 3
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →It depends on what you need it for. Most people would be fine with a Venu3 honestly.
r/AppleWatch • View on Reddit →Look at any of the Venu options.I rock Venu 3 daily myself & I don't use every feature. If you don't use or need any of the other features just don't enable them. Use just the ones you need
r/GarminWatches • View on Reddit →Venu 3 has a ton of issues with Google Assistant for many (most?) android phones. For months. Check the Garmin forums for details. I made the switch to a PW3 and have no regrets. Yes, battery life is a significantly worse but I was already charging daily so its not an issue for me.
r/PixelWatch • View on Reddit →I tried the Venu 3. I'm sure it's a great fitness watch, but it had many issues with notifications. They were unreliable as heck, and that's important for me in my smartwatch. At the time I tried it, it was clear that it was a common issue, had been going on for a long time, and Garmin didn't really give me faith it would ever be fixed.
r/gadgets • View on Reddit →My hulking brother rocks my original Venu which comes in-between at 43mm. I didn't really notice a size difference when I moved into the S models for 2 and 3. Initially it was a pain because the straps went from 20 to 18mm. They have an all black 41mm. I'm waiting for the gold/bone one to ship. I don't really care about the straps as I swap them for nylon ones ASAP anyway.
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →Yeah check my recent post, just reviewed it.
r/GarminWatches • View on Reddit →You can check with chatgpt, specify all your needs and maybe buy a used one on Ebay or Swappa, thats what I did, I got a Venu for $65, ive had it for 2 years now and so far very good, the gps is very good for running, i can track swimming among other things, I guess you can track padel too
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →This easy, Garmin of course. I haven't charged my Garmin Venu 3 since Sunday it's Friday now 5 days still has 41% juice 🤗
r/smartwatch • View on Reddit →I have a Venu 3 and love it. Also a woman who loves to lift. Garmin is crap for tracking lifts. The things it measures tend to relate to the cardiovascular system, not anaerobic big lifts. I am extremely doubtful it tracks calories accurately when lifting. I just don't think it's measuring anything that would reflect the effort of lifting heavy stuff. I do use it to track my workouts, but I manually edit a lot and get frustrated when the exercise I'm doing isn't available on the drop down. Especially when it's auto populated incorrectly. I do like it for hiking, biking, and paddle boarding. I like the HRV and pulse ox tracking. Runners love Garmins. You just have to know what you're getting into. Actually ... the calories thing ... it definitely way undercounts the calories I burn on a hike. Like maybe half or less of what it should be. I wouldn't rely on its calorie tracking for anything.
r/Garmin • View on Reddit →I bought a Garmin venu 3 for mapping my walks (among other things) and absolutely love it.
r/walking • View on Reddit →Well you have a pixel 8a there are some benifits like were mentioned by getting the pixel like payments and even more. Like synced alarms, do not disturb, calendar, reminders, tasks and such. Some of that works with a Samsung watch just not fully well. Your not into fitness but what about over all health? Maybe try out sleep tracking and stress? Cycle tracking (assuming Female that is) It's fun to watch your metrics and just see what your body is doing. Food tracking, step tracking just for fun. Also what about LTE so you can use the watch if your phone dies, lost, or stolen and can still make calls get texts in emergency's. All of that can be done in most of the big name watches but if you want the smart features you want to probably stick with Samsung and Pixel watches. I have used a Samsung watch (Pro 5 then Ultra 7) for the last 3.5 years, long before that I was Fitbit fan and jumped to Pixel 1 when it was release before going to Samsung. Recently tried Garmin Venue 3 (NOT a smartwatch) right back to Pixel watch 3. I really enjoy and like my Pixel 3 it syncs and works perfect with my Pixel 9 when the phone goes into DnD the watch does. When I set an alarm on ether one it sets it on the other. When your using your phone and text comes in it will not buzz your watch. It's little things like that you can set up.
