Check a cheap DJI Mic Mini. The Mini 2 costs more but might be useful for having internal battery storage. I use a Mini linked to my phone and the Mic 2 to record second audio for interviews and sync them later. If you just want one mic, DJI might be the cheap and simple solution.

This is incorrect. I just got it for my iPhone 15 pro. You CANNOT use it via BT connection with the apple camera app. You'll need a third party app (blackmagic or others) to use the mic via BT connection for video recording.

Yes there are receivers that you connect to your camera and will receive the audio from the microphone, check for example the DJI mic, it has a receiver that you can connect to your camera so that the video you are recording gets the audio from the microphone and you don't have to sync anything

i have the osmo pocket 3 creator combo. before i purchased this, i had the dji mic mini. so now both my partner and I film on the osmo and use one of the dji mini mics. i do see a difference in quality when it comes to Mic 2 vs Mic Mini but it's not much. Def doable

If you are getting the Creator combo, then get another standalone Mic 2. If not, I'd recommend the Mic Mini as the size really makes a difference. Souce: I have both Mic 2 and Mic Mini

The Mic 2 is awesome. It allows for recording without the camera so it's like a little wireless digital dictaphone (anybody remember dictaphones?) However, the Mic Mini has a smaller imprint so easier to hide. What I did notice with the Mini Mini (I don't know if it works with the Mic 2) is when I used the receiver, it saves each mic on a separate channel. All in all, there's no real difference that I've noticed (32-bit float?) aside from the size and the (in)convenience of the carrying case and charging

I've just used the DJI Mic Mini on mine. It didn't seem too bad. I plugged in the receiver and off I went. I used both mics in the pack as initially I was getting only single channel. It's nice that I'm not chained to the desk but as they are attached to my baseball cap, I have to remember not to scratch my head too often

I bought the mini mic and the audio quality is terrible. I have a pretty deep voice and me talking normally sounds like a deep rumble and lots of static. All my friends that have tried it have said they they don't like the audio quality. I've had it for less than a week and I'm already thinking of buying a different mic. Do not buy the mini! I haven't tried the Mic 2 but it has to be better than the mini.

I have found that using the magsafe magnetic mount with the 16 pro max, the dji mic mini receiver, and the flow pro 2 does not work as there is not enough clearance, however adjusting the phone using the magnetic clamp mount of the flow pro 2 will work or using a short cable to attach the receiver to the back or side of the phone

Couple of things going on here. I'm guessing you have an iPhone. You can't use any Bluetooth mic with the stock camera app, that's an Apple thing. Gotta plug them all in. Bluetooth is not a great protocol for receiving high quality audio. You definitely can connect the Mic Mini and Mic 2 via Bluetooth and then record audio using the DJI Fly app, but it's still Bluetooth and it'll probably sound like shit. Plugging it in is the best solution across the board.

Audio engineer who shoots Leica here 👋🏻 DJI mic mini 2 is pretty solid wireless mic solution. It's a little hot sounding though. I think I have mine on -6db for both transmitter and receiver to make it sound so hot. I don't use the Q3. I use the SL cameras

In USA prices of the ones that you listed and the mic mini are very similar so I would go with the DJI. Besides if you only need 1 mic you can pay less.

I used to have the Rode Wireless Mic Go 2 and switched to the DJI Mics and then the DJI Mic 2 because they were much more user-friendly. What bothered me most was that with the Rode Wireless Mic Go 2 you needed the PC program or a phone app to change settings and to transfer or convert audio files to the PC, whereas with DJI you get ready-to-use files and can make all the settings on the receiver. I don't know if they improved that point on the Wireless pro. I didn't notice any major difference in the audio quality straight away, but I only use the devices every now and then. I mainly used the devices when I was at events in my village or community, taking photos or videos for clubs, or occasionally recording church services. There I also often used the Sony UX570 voice recorder and connected it to their mixer or microphones if available, and often used the audio track and the DJI Mics as an alternative. I personally don't currently plan on switching to the DJI Mics 3. While I find it interesting that you can use up to four microphones, it's a bit silly for me because I also like to connect lavalier or directional microphones and use a 3.5mm jack input. When I've used the DJI Mics, I usually record the audio into the microphones and then synchronize it with DaVinci Resolve afterward, just to have a bit more flexibility in the sound quality, especially when using musical instruments that push the volume to the limit. I don't do this professionally, but more as a hobby. I use a DJI Pocket 2, Pocket 3, Sony A6500, and occasionally a DJI Action 5, and I usually just film from multiple angles and then edit them together afterwards.

Seconded. The DJI mic mini is awesome if all you need is a wireless lav mic. Not sure how much more it costs than the ones you mentioned where you are. But connecting a receiver to the OP3 every time you want wireless audio seems like a huge hassle and kinda defeats the purpose of having such a simple to use, all-in-one cam.

Max SPL (Sound Pressure Level) is the biggest thing with mic in my research as that's what's gonna distort your audio - 120 db is the max of the mic 2. The DJI Mic Mini also has the same Max SPL. Seems like the Zoom H1N has the same Max SPL but I dont know much about those ones. If you wanna know what mic to REALLY get when you have mega bucks is get a decible reader for where you want to mount the bike, get some readings and then find super high quality mics that can record the db you bike puts out, IE the Max SPL of the mic. For example, if your bike makes 80-100db of noise, a mic with 120db max SPL will not distort that much, if at all. Your biggest issues would be blocking out external noise such as wind at that point. I recently bought a DJI osmi action 5 pro and also wanted a mic for similar reasons because the camera's mic is good but wind noise at 60mph+ suuucks. I found a video doing a review on the DJI Mic Mini (Which is only like $60 compared to the ridiculous $220 of the mic 2) and honestly, the sounds were pretty good for the price Here is the video of the full review of the mic mini: [https://youtu.be/X\_V9s70onDk?si=ZD7-Zv5er2mSsV-6](https://youtu.be/X_V9s70onDk?si=ZD7-Zv5er2mSsV-6) IMO, sounds super clear and I am personally gonna put mine closer to the engine so I can get more engine noise rather than exhaust. Ill post a video in about 2ish days (Mic comes tmrw, had to order it from amazon: [https://a.co/d/4Uwv9Fb](https://a.co/d/4Uwv9Fb) ) I'm unsure of how the whole gopro + dji mic setup works... but if you have the extra cash laying around get the dji osmo action 4/5, they are soooo good for POV riding (And IMO higher quality video is nicer than having a tiny bit of wind noise or a little distortion when your banging 6th gear full throttle). Not to mention the DJI mics wirelessly connect to the DJI cameras without any additional BS :) I have had mine only 2 days and I'm addicted to laying in my bed at night just watching my own riding LOL. Probably cant post the videos here though for uh, reasons hahaha TL;DR: Get a mic with 120db+ SPL that you are happy with. If you're getting a DJI mic see about getting the dji mic mini and getting a DJI camera with the money you saved on not getting the mic 2

I already had the DJI Mic Minis so I just bought the non-creator pack. When the Osmo Pocket 3 arrived, I took my little mics out of their box, clicked the pair button and they paired directly to the Osmo. No need for the transmitter. I just use that when I want to use the mics with my phone. The case is handy to charge it all with though.

But the receiver through Bluetooth will sound trash. It has something to do with the strength of the signal or something. Not too sure how it works exactly. So since that's fixed on the X5, it would make sense for it to also work with the dji mic mini. Right?

I ended up with the Mini. It was pretty good sound quality. If I kept the camera I wouldn't have regretted it for the trip. I also didn't end up going on that trip, and I returned the camera since my iPhone 15 Pro Max had better video quality for some reason. And then the price skyrocketed on the camera. But yeah, I went with the Mini, and it sounded good. I didn't try the Mic 2 but I doubt it would've been worth the extra weight, the mini was on the cusp of being heavy enough to sag on clothing as it was.

If you want to mic up two people, then just get the whole kit. I just bought a single Mic Mini transmitter since it is only me talking in videos. There is no need for the single mic with receiver unless there might be another camera you would want to use it on. If you buy a kit with the receiver, you never have to use it with the Pocket 3.

Mic2 has internal memory to record, and 32-bit float (that is important only for professionals). You pay for these with larger size and lower battery life. I bought mic mini and it is decent. The best thing about the battery life and the out of the box good sound quality and small size.

Internal memory wouldn't be much use to me as I am recording it directly to the Pocket 3, and although 32-Bit recording is an interesting proposition, I don't intend on recording in super high-volume environments where it might clip. It seems as though the mini is basically a DJI Mic 3 without 32 bit recording or on-board storage. Like it's next gen otherwise. At least that's the impression I'm getting with these responses.

Not a fan of 2.8 zooms as they are heavy and expensive Can recommend 20-60 and a third party 35mm or 50mm primes instead. Mic wise can recommend maono wave T5. On par with holyland mark 2 and DJI mics, but a lot cheaper.

Just got mine and im frustrated as well. From all the reviews out there NOT A SINGLE ONE MENTIONS THAT THESE DO NOT WORK ON THEIR OWN AND NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO SOMETHING. Lost time trying to figure out how the hell am i supposed to record with these. Google only mentioned you press connection once and the led turns red indicating recording. NOPE. Had to ask AI chatgpt if they work as standalone product and finally get the answer so many ''revierws'' didnt talk about. DJi Mic mini doesnt have internal storage and cant record audio. It needs to be connected(the RX) to a soure storage and then used. BUT when i finally went to cennect it TURNS OUT they only include 1 adapter and its a Type C and i have iphone 13pro max with Lighting. Lighting adapter that small plastic thing is 20€ so we bump into 110€ for the TX-RX base model. Its really disappointing that you have to dig so much to find info that DJi should mention first. You basically need to have a dead phone on your hand in flight mode to record with these. The blutooth only option sounds like shit.
