Best bang for your buck for first scooter, high quality build so little maintenance required - check tires regularly, clean it up. Enough power for anything except steepest hills. YouTube how to ride scooter and avoid mistakes and good luck, i went from ninebot max g2 3k km to max g3 and it feels like my old scooter was a toy.

Hey Same!! I take the train and then commute the rest on my scooter or sometimes will just ride the 11 miles from home to work. Definitely wanna see what you end up going with. I currently have the Segway max G3 I consider that portable and reliable, granted I've only been an owner of it for a little over a month. Im actually considering getting the GT3 Pro from them next, but that won't be my portable commuter scooter, im going to use that for the days I wanna just ride directly from home to work. Good luck in your search!

G3 max is good as well but too heavy for me. 45kmh is not doable with the f3 pro but personally for me I feel not to safe over 30kmh https://escooter.blog/ninebot-segway/ninbot-f3-tuning-ohne-chip-fuer-die-ganze-f-serie/ https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005009381534604.html?_randl_currency=EUR&_randl_shipto=DE&src=google&pdp_npi=4%40dis!EUR!77.98!47.57!!!!!%40!12000051687609683!ppc!!!&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=272-267-0231&isdl=y&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&aff_platform=google&aff_short_key=UneMJZVf&gclsrc=aw.ds&&albagn=888888&&ds_e_adid=726717691648&ds_e_matchtype=search&ds_e_device=m&ds_e_network=g&ds_e_product_group_id=296303633664&ds_e_product_id=de1005009381534604&ds_e_product_merchant_id=691614764&ds_e_product_country=DE&ds_e_product_language=de&ds_e_product_channel=online&ds_e_product_store_id=&ds_url_v=2&albcp=22054759359&albag=172828878419&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22054759359&gbraid=0AAAAAoukdWMxBY_Cbl_J1uIBnbxPrF8xB&gclid=Cj0KCQiA5abIBhCaARIsAM3-zFUNftQWG-LYsrFkBbKV0fiwkHu0huVef27mNiokm1I50g24IpOtiPgaAlqwEALw_wcB You'll need the f3d edition !

The G2's charging port will fail. Every time. This is a known issue. Additionally, there are many posts here on the G2's fork failing spectacularly during a ride. Just get the G3. You're getting a way better build. The acceleration is far better than the stock G2.

Segway, they prioritize comfort over speed. Which honestly, I don't care if I don't 50 mph, I rather have 11inch tires with better suspension with a lower speed. Don't forget the smart features, like TCS. Plus, Segway has insanely good customer support, I have them thru Bestbuy, so far I replaced my scooter twice at no cost.

Trust me, in Ninebot you will sometimes tighten the bolts, and in other brands you will change the controllers and batteries))) For the 3rd generation of Ninebot European versions, there are boards for unlocking speeds up to 40 km/h, and after some time, free firmware will appear. If you need speed and power, take the G3, if something is lighter and more compact, then the E3. F3 and ZT3 are intermediate options.

I just got the G3 and it's great. She's big, sturdy, and can handle potholes like a champ. That said, I'm a bigger guy so the acceleration can be a little slow and getting up big hills is a bit of a fight. I'm curious if I wouldn't enjoy something with 2 motors a bit more.

I've read posts from several people who have both that say the G2 has better vibration damping than the G3. I only have the G3 and I think small rapid bumps like choppy roads or cobblestone defeat the shocks. Everything else on it is very nice though.

I have had all three, and now just the G2. The G3 is great with its LCD display and superior lighting but the ride is much rougher and the range is about the same. I needed up selling the G3 and returning to the G2 because of the suspension. https://preview.redd.it/xy7x68o9sw1g1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf642cf6e2e216d4f6f1d212159f4a5ddf4590f7

I can tell you right now that the G2 is NOT good for hills. It slows a ton. I wouldn't do the F3 either. ZT3 will work, but portability takes a hit, and upgradability is lost for that discount. G3 is a beast. Very portable and sexy. You can add the extra battery when it's out, or even swap the battery for a GT3 battery and gain 50% more internally. (You can do the GT3 battery swap on the ZT3 as well.)

I have been riding the Segway MAX G3 and overall it has been great. No major issues, parts and support are solid, and it is a well known brand so there are options for servicing or finding parts if you ever need them. For specs, it can reach around 45 km/h in sport mode depending on your region. In eco mode you can get up to about 80 km under ideal conditions like flat terrain and lower speeds. If you ride faster or on mixed terrain the real world range is usually more like 60 to 70 km. I think I saw it on sale at Best Buy recently for $1,100 in Canada. I am not sure if a similar sale applied in the US. It has been a great ride overall, I use it more than my e-bike. Cheers

Bout 14 on Sport limited to 20mph Daily commute mostly flat with one steep climb at the end of the return trip. The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part.

Maybe you can find a lightly used Nami Klima. I'm 6'5 235 and it pulls. It fits you as well without any risers. But if you don't need crazy power for hills, you can get away with a Segway Max G3.

Segway is being cheap and use low capacity chinese battery cells almost for all their scooters. GT3 battery seems to be different and it has 50% more capacity without increased space. It requires latest high quality cells which obviously cost more money, but shame they don't offer it as option. Something like Ninebot Max could fit almost 2kWh battery internally and it would cost near two grands then, but still very compact. The trend is that compact means low battery and bulky heavy means high battery because it is cheaper that way.

it won't go faster on the hills if you unlock it. i have locked it to 20 km/h, and when I am climbing the hill, the speed drops to 17 km/h. im 73 kg, with your weight i suppose the speed on the hills will be lower

I bought the g3 around a month ago and racked up around 850 miles on it so far. In my opinion, it would be a near perfect scooter if it was priced at $800. I live in Miami so everything is completely flat and I can't speak for long term hills, but the incline up to my apartment parking garage is 13% and it eats that and gets up to almost 25mph. The braking is phenomenal, there's a serious bite to them and it takes a lot of pressure to lock up the wheels. The suspension is this scooters crown jewel. The thing absolutely eats large bumps in the road, manholes, shit roads, dips, and I even fly over speed bumps at max speed and catch air, suspension handles it all. Not advising you to do this, but the scooter is so stable you can literally ride it with no hands if you push the stem with your hip. Range is about 18 miles at 190lbs at max speed. More than plenty for my city commute but on longer rides I find myself wishing the battery was larger, it's a huge drawback. Battery needs to be at 38c or below before you can start charging without damaging your battery which can be a pain sometimes but Fast charging is great, and hour and half on the charger and you can extend your range pretty far. I bought Segway because the build quality and reliability Is great, I've taken 3 falls, 2 at slow speed and 1 at max speed and the scooter shows no signs of damage other than cosmetic. The only thing is the price and the range, because if you're not worried about reliability, or purchasing from the most reputable brand, there are similar options for lower prices. I got mine for 900 after tax because I bought it refurbished from a company called R3NEW, and it comes with a 1 year full coverage warranty. If you are comfortable with spending the money and buying this scooter, you will be more than satisfied.

I just got a Segway g3. The Apollo Go is the comparable competition. Supposedly the Apollo is less robust and 10 lbs. lighter. Suspension and ability to actually ride around 20. Mph is what you want. Used they should be close to your price point. No name brands are an expensive gamble and I even bought the Best Buy extended warranty so I can get a replacement if it breaks or even if I crash. No suspension is a rough slow ride that feels like you could lose control of. For double the money you can get a very fancy machine that's smooth and zippy enough that you will drive at speeds that will positively injure you if you crash. Plus they are pretty heavy to haul up a staircase

I just upgraded to a Max G3, in Canada. Did quite a bit of research. Yes, the g3 range is not spectacular but it's really fantastic in every other metric. My local region does not have an e-scooter shop where I can get service or support so the Segway support system was also a consideration.

Stay away from the G2! The G2 has some quality issues with the charging port and build quality. The G3 is a beast and it's my new main scooter. ZT3 is good for outdoor, lose terrain and that but lacks the extra battery for example. F3 is okay, but only the charging input where the battery would go is trash in my eyes. So either ZT3 or G3. Both are great scooters.

The Segway E3 is a better choice. Having both the G3 and E3, I find the E3 offers the same experience for a fraction of the price. The E3 also folds up more compact than the F3. https://preview.redd.it/oy24zqjt75nf1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49406bf13a56505fcaf6a8d0566cb33e5040dcf0

If you're considering the F3, also consider the g3, at least it was a black friday sales for $999. But with that said, the g30p, while I think the most reliable of them, will travel in pretty much any weather, it does lack in power. Meaning, if I'm going up a hill, even an insanely small hill, it drops quickly to like 9mph. So also bear that in mind.

Personally I've owned NIU and Segway scoots. Currently have the Max G3 and it is fantastic. Range can be a little better but the tech and ride quality are top tier. It has mechanical brakes instead of hydraulic but honestly they work great. For the price it's a lot of scooter for the money. Their newest update unlocked a ton of power and fixed some early issues. Whatever you do don't buy a cheap Amazon scooter with unrealistic claims. 😂

Inmotion Climber is in your price range, and has relatively decent support. As another said, the Segway Max G3 is pretty good as well. [Decent](https://youtu.be/U284wt6aKzQ?si=79zQoG23TrOfifv-) scooters with decent rep that'll do what you need for your commute. The former didn't have suspension and is a tad bit slower, but has dual motors for zippiness. The latter has a single rear motor but it's way stronger, and bigger tires with suspension and a lot of other goodies Me personally, I'm extra af so I have dual 1000w motors for my 6'5 225 frame. Don't expect the fastest hill climbing ability, but they'll get the job done.

Best is relative I think, it depends what features and specs matter most to you. A solid, reliable, and all round stout scooter I think you can't go past the Ninebot Max G3 or even G2 is you don't need the extra speed. Super approachable, forgiving scooters that punch above their class in certain metrics.

See the main reason I got it, my local Bikes shops actually is certified to service Segways. I own scooters in the pass and changing a tire is a painful experience. So far it's a tough scooter.(Segway Max g3) I had to replace one scooter cause a lady cut me off, the scooter body was fine, the wheel was bent. So replaced it. However the body took zero damaged, her car was more damaged than the scooter.
