Can't help you about reviews, but I *can* tell you - from the tech specs and from user reports here - that E-series Ninebots below the E3 Pro aren't actually very good. They have weak powertrains and tiny ranges and they'll choke on any uphill; personally I'd avoid them all. The E3 Pro specifically is the only one with a half-decent powertrain; I'd imagine that's why people have more things to say about it. I *would* choose a Xiaomi 5 before any E-series, but I'd choose a Ninebot F3, cheaper F2, or even the older G30 before the Xiaomi 5.

meh, speed isn't everything. I'd rather have something reliable that I know is going to work every time I turn it on, and it's affected by things like rain. That said, Segways are extremely reliable, g30p is about $600 now, G2Max has been available recently for $799 and it adds suspension and little higher top speed as well as blinkers. The f2pro might hit that $500ish price point too.

Depends on the overall budget though. College students don't necessarily want to sent or have the money to spend on a higher end scooter, esp when there are decent dependable scooters that may not go 50mph with a range of 90 miles. College students are going to have issues of storage and theft as primary concerns. So spending over $1k for something that could easily grt stolen makes zero sense. You're really better of getting something that is cheaper and reliable and speed doesn't have to be king nor does everyone want speed to be king. Add that it has zero to do with masculinity as you're trying to make it put to be. You're not a little girl if you don't want to go 50mph+, you just want a quicker commute and do it safely. Some people have balance issues and the faster you go the more dangerous it becomes. So something like those entry/mid level segways are amazing options because they aren't made for speed but dependability. And no, it doesn't have to be a tradeoff, but often times is.

at what point do you think I'm the OP? My experience and a lot of peoples that for the money, the Segways are some of the most dependable on the market and aren't built for speed. Some people are going to really like that aspect of it. Probably esp a college student on a budget.

I have the Segway F2 and this thing is a tank. 300 miles in and she has been a loyal buddy to me. It has traction control for slippery weather, apple findmy so you can locate the scooter and a bunch of other cool shit in the app. It goes 19 MPH and that is FANTASTIC! Make sure to wear HELMET!!!!

yeah, I see what you mean it does say "Its **powerful 450-watt motor with a max output of 900 watts**" its possible it can peak at higher watt, but in my experience this is only slightly more powerful than a lime scooter. I would go dual motor for sure.

I would recommend a refurbished F2/F2 Pro if it's available in your region. You will save ton of money for mostly the same features. I just got mine F2 Pro refurb it's a fantastic deal.

Had a Gyroor that was bought in May 2023. It had issues, I wrote them and asked where I could find replacement parts. They said the line has been discontinued and no parts exist soooo... never doing that again. I want a scooter brand that is easy to find parts on. We bought a Segway Ninebot F2 Pro and so far love it more. Better handling, rides higher, app that works, no card to unlock the scooter, smooth ride.

I have been using F2 Pro for about 1000 km. Mine is limited to 25 km/h. I am generally very pleased. I especially wanted it to be relatively light. (I have to carry it to the 3rd floor all the time) A shock absorber at the front wouldn't be bad either. It also gives what I want in terms of range and power. I find "limited power" suitable for a scooter. Very fast / very powerful scooters are a total madness. Positive aspects; first of all, it works properly. The quality of the materials is excellent and it seems sure to stay that way for a long time. It has a relatively high engine power compared to its weight. I think it is one of the best among single-motors. It is easy to fold and carry. The right and left signals are quite bright. (I wish it worked like hazard lights but no). Most importantly, the lock that opens from the device screen. You can't go directly by pressing the unlock button. You have to enter the password on the device first. This is very useful in terms of security, especially so that they don't tamper with it. It also has a built-in alarm. And this scooter have Apple find my device support. As for the bad features; Even though the front shock absorber works well, there is a little gap and it makes noise. It is not noticeable when using it, but it is there. It takes 6-7 hours to charge. This is too long. I wish this model had a built-in charger like the Max g2. In general, I think it is a product that can be purchased within its price range. I do not know if more can be purchased in this price range, except for noname brands.

I've been using the F2 Pro for about 9 months, taking it on the subway, trains, and buses. I ride it almost everywhere-I hardly walk anymore, so my legs have gotten weak! :) It's lightweight and easy to load/unload onto vehicles, (I have a spinal hernia so I care) as well as lift onto and off pavements without ramps. The hanging hook on the back of the stem is a lifesaver for carrying market bags, backpacks with haul loops, and more. The only downside (for me) is that it has a peak power of 900W, allowing it to handle inclines of up to 22%. Meanwhile, the F3 Pro can handle 24%. This is a very subjective issue because I regularly visit a place with a \~22% slope ramp, and I can't reach the top without zigzagging in the last 10 meters. :) Other than that, it's a great scooter. The 40 km range is more than sufficient for city use. I will upgrade to the F3 Pro if it has a good price when it's released. # Key Changes from F2 Pro to F3 Pro: 1. **Peak Power:** * **F2 Pro:** 900W * **F3 Pro:** 1200W * **Increase in Peak Power:** \+300W (+33.33%) 2. **Range:** * **F2 Pro:** 55 km * **F3 Pro:** 70 km * **Increase in Range:** \+15 km (+27.27%) 3. **Weight:** * **F2 Pro:** 18.5 kg * **F3 Pro:** 19 kg * **Increase in Weight:** \+0.5 kg (+2.7%) 4. **Battery Capacity:** * **F2 Pro:** 460 Wh * **F3 Pro:** 477 Wh * **Increase in Battery Capacity:** \+17 Wh (+3.7%)

Really depends on how and where she intends to ride it. I probably spoiled myself by going for a fully suspended one on my first purchase (the Max G2) and when I tried a friend's F2 Pro,on somewhat degraded roads, it felt like I was going to damage my spinal cord lol, lack of back suspension really shakes you like a tree.

Something like a Segway F2 Pro would be Ideal. Your basically getting a cheaper G30Max with just a little less range. The F2 has great suspension that will make your ride smoother on most grounds.

I just went through this with the G30P, E3 Pro, F3 at BB. I wanted the suspension and the E3 was pretty small for me at 6'2, there was no foot room at all which made standing position cramped and I reasoned if the much more spacious F2 was a lot safer by being able to carve and maneuver better, the $200 was a no brainer. I felt like I was standing over the bars on the E3, precariously forward, not laying back, so it felt all wrong. F3 cost me $700. The G2 has been cursed with the front wheel play thing and it's super heavy. The F2 is kind of similar but I guess less range as said above. E3 Pro to F2 was night and day for me plus it has hydro front suspension, 20% more power, super bright headlight. Go for the one you will enjoy the most. There is also a guy who says the F3 and E3 have the exact same fork as the G2 and will have the same play issues but I figured so many people have bought them and there is a limited amount of complaints. I was definitely turned away from the G2 there are at least 3 major issues with it.

In my experience my ninebots have always been reliable and quality. I think you would be hard to go wrong. I had the f2 which i loved but the e2 plus seems great for an 11 year old! Peppy enough they wont be bored but still safe! Through my experience riding escooters up to 60mph and ebikes. Please please please. Helmet and gloves MINIMUM for your kid. Elbow and knee pads are also HIGHLY recommended. ive talked to trauma doctors in the er after big crashes and the amount of kids getting messed up on these things due to no helmets and gear is insane. Nothing worse than roadrash/scraped skin. I dont want to discourage you. With appropriate gear this will genuinely change your kids life and keep him safe! Sorry for the rant i just have seen the consequences of not wearing gear even on a slow scooter. Rant aside. I dont think your gonna go wrong with the scooter! Goodluck!

If you prioritize safety and reliability you need to raise your budget, i would recommend the ninebot g30 because i never had any issue with it, i also had an f2 pro and loved it but the steering stem had a lot of play and eventually it broke, it was under warranty so they gave me a new f3 and it has play too, and it has like 20km

If your commute has hills - you are going to need a scooter with enough power to climb them. In my case I started with a 900w Segway and it would barely climb hills at walking speed, that was with me giving it some help it - which wasn't doing my back any good. . I moved up to a dual motor 2 x 1000watts and it is unstoppable and will maintain 20 - 30Kph on any climb. It also has 2 x disc brakes so stopping power is much better. But it can be a bit of beast to ride due to its power - so I dial back the power settings. Only negative of this scooter is its weight - 30+ Kg makes it hard to handle.

Gotrax is e-waste tier until you hit GX Zero. Even then, it's a D tier option. Garbage cells that don't last more than a year usually, controllers blowing up, and other electrical issues plague them. Also terrible company in general. # $500 budget * **F2** \- 38lbs, 700w, 36v 367Wh, Front disc brake, 18mph max, *(up to 950w/22mph+)***\*** * **KQi 3 Pro** \- 45lbs, 700w, 48V 486Wh, Front+Rear disc brakes, 20mph max The KQi 3 Pro is better than the F2, stock. With SHFW\* the F2 is much faster/stronger, but less range. # $580 budget * **F2 Pro** \- 41lbs, 900w, front disc brake, **front suspension**, 36v 460Wh, 20mph max *(up to 1200w/25mph+)****\**** * **G30P** \- 41lbs, 900w, front drum brake, 36v 551Wh, 18.6mph max *(up to 1600w/28mph+)****\**** The F2 pro has front suspension, which is hugely beneficial. G30P has more power/range. Take ur pick. \**You can flash SHFW (scooter hacking firmware) onto Segways in minutes, unlocking control of speed/power/etc. No tools required (if you join the Telegram).* [***As long as you follow the guide***](https://github.com/lekrsu/shfw-walkthrough?tab=readme-ov-file#Ninebot-g2-f2)***,*** *it is highly unlikely to damage anything.*

I have an f2 and a E kick from ninebot. I do believe you're paying a little bit for the ninebot name, but from my experience it's worth it. I picked up an F2 that had only been rode 4 times by the previous owner for $200 (a steal) on marketplace. The build quality is definitely there, I absolutely love the f2. It's not even in the same league as my new vmax, yet I still use it for trips I can't bring the max inside or if it's rough riding. I'm 170 and ride the scooters like I stole them. Our Gotrax is also solid reliability wise, as my 8 yrs old nephew hasn't destroyed it yet, despite trying his hardest lol
