If you are going to get an E-series from Segway, get a pro model. That torque will put a smile on their face.

Good choice but might be hard to find under $500 even with BF deals - usually runs closer to $600. For your weight and distance though it'd be perfect, super portable too

I just bought one of these on sale at Best Buy (CA) $499.00, compared to anything else for this price, you won't beat it. Full suspension and it's fast, I mean it accelerates fast and holds 32km/h uphill (slight inclines) with me at 180lbs. I have an Ecoroad EC8 and just sold my Hiboy S2 Pro, and have to say there is absolutely NO COMPARISON as far as quality, speed, durability, design, app control, and on and on and on. Get one before they are sold out!

Just purchased a Segway E3 Pro. Don't expect it to be in this list as it's only a couple months released but... is this an upgrade from the G30P/LP? Looks to be feature wise but I've found it hard to not second guess myself. Doesn't help they're the same price right now.

This is essentially a copy of the xiaomi m365, but more powerful, and the price is too damn high. As for me, it's better to pay a little extra and buy a Ninebot G2 or Ninebot E3 (just the first thing that came to mind), they are not inferior in power, they have a double suspension. Well, or look for something better than the hiboy s2 pro, for that price.

The G30LP and the G30P are similar but different - the LP is physically smaller and has a smaller battery. I'd say the E3Pro is on the same level as the G30LP, but a downgrade to the G30P.

**TLDR** Segway E3 is fast (32 kph), smooth, comfy, and surprisingly premium feeling. Great value for neighborhood cruising. Minor quirks like weak mechanical brakes and awkward folding, but overall very happy and don't feel the need for anything faster. **Background** This is my first e-scooter. Before this, my only experiences were with Lime rentals and a quick test ride of an Apollo scooter back in 2019. I was originally eyeing the Segway F3 Pro or Segway G3 but didn't want to pay full retail. Then I came across the Segway E3 on sale for $350 CAD ($250 USD) and decided to give it a shot. After my first ride, I'm honestly thrilled. This scooter is more than enough for my needs, and I'm really happy with the overall performance. **Pros** * This E3 is frigging fast! It tops out at 32kph in Sport Mode, which I feel is way too fast for bombing around my neighbourhood paths with my kid. I can't imagine going faster unless you're on a wide road with no chance to hit vehicles or other people. Never once did I feel I needed it to go any faster. * The acceleration from a dead stop is decent. It ramps up nicely without any jerkiness. I had traction control enabled for my entire ride. Didn't try it turned off. * There are 4 Drive modes, walking, eco, drive and sport. I left it in sport mode for the most part. Drive mode is decently quick too topping out at 25kph. * The dual elastomer suspension and hollow tires are good and does a decent job at soaking up the side walk crack jolts. * The energy recovery feature (regenerative braking) slows you down without having to pull the brake lever. I'm very used to regen braking as my main car is an EV, so I liked this feature and mainly slowed down this way. There 3 levels - off, weak and standard. I had it set to standard my entire ride. * There are 3 different RGB light effects on the underside of the deck, breathing, flowing and rainbow. * Turn signal lights are very bright and can be easily seen in bright sunshine. When riding at night, I like to turn on the hazards to make me very visible to other drivers. * Handle bars are slightly swept back towards the rider. * I like the looks of it. It looks very premium and somewhat hardcore, not at all like a toy. * I like guard mode/locking function, which forces you to unlock the scooter via app or entering the PIN using throttle to change the numbers and brake lever to confirm the number. I appreciate this feature so I don't have to worry about my young kids riding it if I am not around. * Find My feature. It was easy to add to Apple's Find My network. **Cons** * You have to kick off after you are stopped to get going after. There is no way to turn this safety feature off. * Mechanical brakes could be much stronger. The few times where I had to pull the mechanical brakes, I felt it didn't slow the scooter down fast enough. * The folding feature is a bit janky and requires you to squeeze the brake lever and stomp on the folding latch with your foot to fold the stem down. Took me quite a while to get the hang of it. * I wish the deck had a upswept rear kick tail because I was constantly stepping my back foot on the rear wheel fender. * I wish there was an extra button dedicated to just changing the drive mode. The power button controls changing drive mode (double click) and turning on/off the headlight (single click), and of course turning on/off the scooter (hold down power). * The display screen doesn't show remaining range. You have to use the app to check that. Overall for casual neighborhood cruising use case, this scooter is fantastic, especially for the price I paid. I don't feel any need to upgrade to an F3 or G3 now. The E3 is quick, smooth, and well-built. Overall, I'm very, very happy with my purchase.

I just went through this with the G30P, E3 Pro, F3 at BB. I wanted the suspension and the E3 was pretty small for me at 6'2, there was no foot room at all which made standing position cramped and I reasoned if the much more spacious F2 was a lot safer by being able to carve and maneuver better, the $200 was a no brainer. I felt like I was standing over the bars on the E3, precariously forward, not laying back, so it felt all wrong. F3 cost me $700. The G2 has been cursed with the front wheel play thing and it's super heavy. The F2 is kind of similar but I guess less range as said above. E3 Pro to F2 was night and day for me plus it has hydro front suspension, 20% more power, super bright headlight. Go for the one you will enjoy the most. There is also a guy who says the F3 and E3 have the exact same fork as the G2 and will have the same play issues but I figured so many people have bought them and there is a limited amount of complaints. I was definitely turned away from the G2 there are at least 3 major issues with it.

Hi folks. I've been researching for a few weeks and I think I found my scooter, but I wanted to check in with the hivemind before I pull the trigger. I want a scooter primarily to ride to and from work (about 2.5 miles). I weigh 220 pounds. I will be riding at low speeds on sidewalk for the most part. I live in a second-floor apartment and would like to be able to bring the scooter on a bus/in an Uber if something goes wrong on my commute. UL certification is non-negotiable for me. Most of the commute is relatively flat, but there's one steep hill that I wouldn't mind pushing the scooter up if it's not able to climb it. Budget is around $700. Would prefer to have suspension since the sidewalks and roads aren't crazy smooth. This scooter seems to check all my boxes: suspension system, 265lb weight limit, UL certified, lightweight at under 50 pounds. I figure I'm going to get half the advertised range if I'm lucky (due to my weight) and that should still be plenty for my daily use. Speed is not important to me; I want to ride because it's easier than walking, not necessarily because it's faster. It's on sale for $599 right now so well-within budget. I also considered a NIU KQi 200F. I'm more inclined toward the Ninebot because it seems like Segway probably has better customer service, because the Ninebot seems less intensely reliant on the mobile app (I don't want to have to use my phone all the time), and because the E3 Pro has full suspension instead of just front-wheel suspension. Is this a good call? This is a lot of money for me, so I just don't want to be stuck with a lemon. UPDATE: I got the scooter and I adore it! I find it pretty easy to carry up/down stairs but I realize now it's a little bigger than I'd care to take on the bus. No concern there, because it's fun as fuck to ride. It has no trouble bringing my fat ass (plus the ~10 pounds of whatnot I bring to work) up the hills on my commute. I do feel bumps but not in a major way at all. Couldn't be happier with it!!!

The GL (aka normal 5) has lower power than the pro (which you feel when climbing hills), and it doesn't have rear suspension. Those are the important differences. The pro has more power and thus can climb steeper hills, and a spring rear suspension which helps on bumpy roads, and makes any scooter much more safe and forgiving. Between the 2 the Pro is the clear choice. That being said be careful of the weight. The pro is 22.5kg so if you need to carry it often on steps you will get annoyed (especially as the rear wheel motor makes it kind of unbalanced when carrying). The GL is 2 kg lighter. Another alternative with suspension and near this cost would be the ninebot e3 pro. It has elastomer dual suspension, is lighter, more compact, but has a bit less range than the xiaomis. Another even cheaper (but v good) alternative is the xiaomi 4 pro scooters, but only if you only ride on dedicated smooth bike lanes in a decent country, as they do not have suspension.

Do you really think the Xiaomi 5 is better than the E3 Pro? From a price perspective, they are pretty much the same. The motor power is also quite similar 700W for the Xiaomi and 800W for the E3. Both have 10-inch tires. The Xiaomi has a bigger battery but is heavier. Also, the damping is better on the E3 Pro (both front and back) compared to only front suspension on the Xiaomi 5. If you want both front and back suspension on the Xiaomi, you have to buy the more expensive version. So, I would say: if you need more range, go with Xiaomi and if you want more comfort and don't need a large battery, go with the Segway. I was choosing between the two and decided on the E3. It should arrive next week. But to be honest, you can't go wrong with either at this price point; just keep in mind that both will struggle with anything above a 20degree uphill slope.

I own the non-pro version, the Segway E3. I don't know what are the main differences, but I assume that one of the difference must be a bigger battery pack and longer range. The E3 is a really great scooter for its price. I get a range a bit higher than half the advertised range because of my weight. It has a nice big screen, good headlights and brake lights, really nice RBG lights under the floor. I've used it during rain, and I have not faced any issues thus far. Although, I would say, if you're gonna ride it on the sidewalk, it will be a bumpy ride because the suspension isn't THAT great (not sure if the suspension's better on the pro model). But overall, the scooter is a really great scooter to look into.

I do, personally, but then I don't really care about damping - I do a fair bit of riding on a modified first-gen M365 that does have 10" retrofit wheels, but no suspension at all, and I'm not uncomfortable. I do care about a larger battery, and the E series has never impressed me in that sense, though the E3 Pro is better than previous Es in that it at least has a 36V system.

Ninebot E3 Pro - Ninebots lightest that still has front and rear suspension and enough range for last mile or the NIU KQI Air which is a no compromise ultralight scooter. Interesting. I may keep these now. My 11 y/o and I went around the block, and he did well. But the size/weight would be a problem at times, but probably mostly okay. I might see if there is any local stores that have various ones on display and take a look. Looking at Apollo, way more than I would be willing to spend. Even the E3 Pro is more than I wanted, I fear they will get destroyed.

I have a Xiaomi 5 Pro and my mother has the normal 5. Daily use in summer until last week without any problems, both only go 19-20 km/h in Germany, but we don't care about the 1-2 km/h difference. The e3 pro d has rear suspension, albeit only polymer (i.e., like a piece of rubber), but still better than nothing. On normal paths and roads, however, I hardly notice any difference with my 65 kg weight between my 5 pro and the 5. You probably have to be heavier or ride on badly damaged roads. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either of them.

Hello, A few weeks ago, I was looking for reviews/tests on the Ninebot E3 E. Unfortunately, I couldn't find many on YouTube or Reddit. I finally decided to buy the Pro version for €400 at Darty. Here's my feedback after two weeks of use, I have highlighted what I think is important in bold, so if you don't want to read everything, you can see the key points at a glance. Aesthetically, **the scooter looks great**. You can tell it's a fairly high-quality product, even though some parts are made of plastic. **The deck isn't very long or wide**: with my size 43 EU (9,5 US), I can fit my feet on it, but I would have liked it to be a little longer and wider for more comfort. In terms of performance, **it's a little bit slow to start up and takes few seconds to reach 25 km/h, but once it gets there, it maintains that speed well, even on slopes**. I was able to test it on slopes of 16° and 18°: in the first case, it maintains 25 km/h and easily climbs to 20 km/h when starting on this hill, in the second case it drops to 20 km/h and struggles to exceed 12 km/h when starting on this hill. However, these situations are rare in my daily use and therefore do not pose a problem for me. **The ride is pleasant and I feel safe**. **The shock absorbers are a nice touch, but they don't really help smooth out the road's imperfections, roots, or gravel**. You can feel that they're working and making the ride slightly more comfortable, but **the handlebar still vibrate a bit**, so don't expect a very smooth ride. **Considering the price of the scooter, this is still acceptable**. **The screen is very bright and remains clearly legible in direct sunlight**. **The indicators are bright and visible**, but in reality, few drivers or pedestrians look at the wrists of the Scooter. **Their usefulness is therefore limited**. The LED light is bright, but it could be a little more powerful and, above all, better directed. **I find that it is not directed enough towards the road** and, what's more, the light it produces is triangular in shape, which is rather strange and a little counterproductive in my opinion. The most disappointing aspect is **the battery** **life**. **Advertised as 45 km at 25 km/h, in my case (I weigh 70 kg) it actually hardly exceed 21km.** Recharging also takes a long time: **around 6 hours for a full charge.** In terms of braking, **the factory distance is about 5 to 6 steps** (approximately 5 meters). After tightening, as much as I could, the brakes on the wheel, I managed to reduce this to 3 or 4 steps (3 to 4 meters), which is very good, but you have to lean back to avoid doing an endo. In my configuration, it should be noted that when pushing the scooter and braking hard, the rear lifts up, which is not ideal and didn't happen before my modification I therefore recommend **tightening a little bit more the brakes but not fully.** However, I did encounter one problem: despite my adjustments, **the brake handle still touches the scooter handle, which is not recommended.** In conclusion, despite its limitations in terms of range and also the start-up time, which could be improved, **I recommend this scooter**. For my use (4 km per day in the city with few hills), it is more than adequate. I find it attractive, pleasant to ride, and generally reliable for its price and **I am very happy with it. Edit: I left my scooter off at 83% battery on Thursday at 5pm and when I came back the next day at 8pm it was at 79%. This is quite annoying because it means that every hour it loses a certain percentage of battery. ** https://preview.redd.it/0kbengbqcmlf1.jpg?width=2323&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f03bf9fade688e4be2b02e20cd00e2a7dcb10ad https://preview.redd.it/6ijimgbqcmlf1.jpg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5dc1db5ff4c8b761b6591b82a3d61ab1312d0ce

I have an f2 and a E kick from ninebot. I do believe you're paying a little bit for the ninebot name, but from my experience it's worth it. I picked up an F2 that had only been rode 4 times by the previous owner for $200 (a steal) on marketplace. The build quality is definitely there, I absolutely love the f2. It's not even in the same league as my new vmax, yet I still use it for trips I can't bring the max inside or if it's rough riding. I'm 170 and ride the scooters like I stole them. Our Gotrax is also solid reliability wise, as my 8 yrs old nephew hasn't destroyed it yet, despite trying his hardest lol

Trust me, in Ninebot you will sometimes tighten the bolts, and in other brands you will change the controllers and batteries))) For the 3rd generation of Ninebot European versions, there are boards for unlocking speeds up to 40 km/h, and after some time, free firmware will appear. If you need speed and power, take the G3, if something is lighter and more compact, then the E3. F3 and ZT3 are intermediate options.

I had the same choice between 5 pro and e3 pro, and I chose the xiaomi. The suspension is great on the xiaomi, I don't hear any sounds. It's kind of tougher (harder) compared to the e3 pro. It makes the scooter very safe if you're frrom a town with a lot of bumps and bad roads. The only drawback is the weight. I go to the gym and still hate carrying it in my small elevator. It seems unbalanced due to the backside motor, and sometimes when I touch it on the side of the elevator, the folding latch gets disconnected from the body, which is very annoying. Besides the above, the xiaomi is a joy to ride, very safe, great when going uphill, and keeps its acceleration and speed even with very low battery. The E3 pro on the other hand is more compact, has less weight & has a bit less range than the xiaomi. It has Apple findMy, and a good suspension if you ride on decent roads. As negatives on the e3 it's 36v as opposed to 48, which means it accelerates a bit slower in general and especially when the battery is low. Also, when folding the e3 there are 2 wires under the folding mechanism that get pressed strangely on a hard corner. I would pick the E3 only if you have to carry the scooter a lot of time. Otherwise, get the xiaomi. PS: also check navee gt3 line (it has like 3 variations), as it's basically the same as the xiaomi, and maybe better in range. Also buy only scooters where you have support and warranty in your country.

I use an Abus padlock and a disc lock, however Ninebot E3 does not have a disc, so in your case only the Abus would work, as long as you make sure to always lock the scooter digitally, if you are interested in using padlocks, make sure you use one from Abus or similar, and put a permanent screw lock on the scooter's nuts and bolts.

I had this in my cart for a while then when I finally decided to purchase, noticed the double promo - the same deal as you. Great success! It was also my first eScooter and happy I was able to get something in that price range (under $400cad after tax). Should've bought 2! I have been enjoying it over the past couple weeks. Tightening the cable on the brake drum and the handlebars gave the brakes a bit more stopping power. I like that Segway puts out good maintenance videos on youtube, making repairs (hopefully none required) easy.

We have 2 of the E3 Pro's. We bought them a few weeks ago at Sam's for $499 each. They're a great value. Everything from the build quality to the ride quality is excellent and exceeded our expectations. We bought them to use while at RV parks, our first trip being right after we consummated the purchase. The area we were in was mildly hilly. We had no issues whatsoever. Speed was right on at 20 mph, though we spend 90% of the time in drive mode at or below 15 mph. Hills were no issue as long as we were already in motion. Starting at the immediate base of a hill was a little slow going but manageable. For reference, I'm 170lbs, my wife is 120. I pick them up single handedly to load into the SUV without issue. I wouldn't want to walk great distances carrying them but they really aren't that heavy. All that said, we have a minor issue with one of them, Bluetooth. Hers connected immediately and connects each and every time she opens the app and is near the scooter. Mine had trouble from the get go, refusing to connect on setup and it will not connect automatically. I have to turn Bluetooth off and back on to establish a connection. Both running Pixel 9's, same OS, etc. I don't really care, I don't lock it and don't use the app so... Regardless of this minor annoyance, we'd both highly recommend the E3 Pro! Good luck 😉

Can't help you about reviews, but I *can* tell you - from the tech specs and from user reports here - that E-series Ninebots below the E3 Pro aren't actually very good. They have weak powertrains and tiny ranges and they'll choke on any uphill; personally I'd avoid them all. The E3 Pro specifically is the only one with a half-decent powertrain; I'd imagine that's why people have more things to say about it. I *would* choose a Xiaomi 5 before any E-series, but I'd choose a Ninebot F3, cheaper F2, or even the older G30 before the Xiaomi 5.

What a deal, I guess I just missed it. This is by far the best scooter for the price.

E3 pro user here, if you have any questions, feel free to ask https://preview.redd.it/ltmy3am1zi4g1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cb53ddf9bcb95b24988ef09bfcc4d9fd914443b

If possible I recommend buying from Best Buy and buy their extended warranty. Almost basically a no questions asked guarantee. They will either repair or replace or refund. From them I recommend the Segway ninebot e3 pro. Front and rear suspension. Front steering geometry is finally proper and modern that you will not find on vaguely speaking 90% of the escooter market. The front suspension may look funky but I like it. But its like that because there is more positive trail leading to much much better stability. Weight of the scooter is low. Plenty powerful. Real world range expect around 15 miles. Segway ninebot uses pretty good components. Some may seem blah like not having hydraulic disc brakes. That is for ease of maintenance and obviously some cost savings. The groups I am in we like Segway ninebot quite a bit. Theres a wide range of models but we all have hyper modified Segway ninebot max g30 escooters... mine is 60mph 13kw dual motor. And mine is slow. Hopefully you guys get into the scooter stuff. It can be a lot of fun. Especially if there's nature trails nearby. I also just have to recommend helmet and bicycle gloves. Go as far as a bmx helmet or dh mtb helmet. The way we crash on scooters often leads to crashing face first.

The power on hills is nowhere near what Segway/ninebot claim. I have a couple short hills on my commute that are well under 18% (more like 10%) and the E3 pro will bog down to a complete stop at my 230lb rider weight. Going to try the Max G3 in hopes of not struggling up the hills.

If you are going to get an E-series from Segway, get a pro model. That torque will put a smile on their face.

I saw that you bought the E series, right now the best of the E series is the E3 pro, the E2 may be underpowered as it's from the older generation. Also there is not much difference in price between the E2 and E3. I currently own the E3 (pro) and it's very good. I'm satisfied.
