Ausom has UL certified batteries. It also wasn't confirmed the scooter caused the fire even though it there's a good chance it was given the conditions. Left it out in rain, it stopped working, then left it plugged in for a week. Lol

I asked them for the certificate, and this is the link to the google doc they sent me. Cant find any information about STE testing Lab in China, emailed them again to provide clarification to see if STE is a recognized testing lab, because I cannot find Ausom or shenzhen magic wheel technology listed in UL database. Then again, I couldnt find quite a few other big scooter brands that advertise UL certs. Still would like to give them the benefit of the doubt though, even best buy is selling Ausom scooters now. If not, I am going to return the DT2 pro I just bought, as fun as it is, its not worth the risk. Just bought mine and have been riding it for a week now. The DT2 Pro has much better feeling brakes and work better than the L2 Max dual motor I had but they sent me a lemon and got it shipped back and got the DT2 Pro. It's also my first scooter but just be careful on your first couple of rides because you definitely have to get used to it if you're using both motors. I live in Chicago and have been using it for work this week and commute a combined 14 miles and it has been great so far. Once you start going faster though turn up the eabs braking and you can feel it kick in. But after 14 miles of keeping it in race mode and dual motor damn near the whole time I still have three bars left and I weigh 165 lbs. I also have an e-bike but it kind of sucks because now I'm just using this now to get around and I love my bike but it's not as convenient to up and just go.

Exellent ! I'll also be facing easing into returning to work though not for a while. My scooters a bit of a bashed up old dog so I'll be buying something soon. The DT2 pro would be top of my wish list but not sure I can spare that much. Maybe a Joyor S10 sz but the tubed tires put me off. Sure is difficult making a decision and pulling the trigger. I've been procrastinating for a month and still no closer to deciding. Cheers 👍

Ausom's pretty big. Borderline not portable for anyone who actually needs to go into shops with it. L2 Single motor goes 30, but I don't feel the speed so much as I'm conscious of it as a data point when on roads. More of a cruiser than a nippy ride.

I too have a climber as my daily driver scoot. I Picked up an EUC, an Aero, mostly because it's significantly smaller while going the same speed and more, once you become confident enough at handling the fact that you only have one wheel and are reliant on your balance. It'll rip up hills before wind pressure and inclines force me to accelerate slower at 26 MPH, but before that it GOES. It satisfies the "Go faster" itch by virtue of feeling faster and getting more adrenaline going because of the inherent risk involved, it fits in a gym locker, and you can sit on it while it self balances when you go out and have to stop for pedestrian crossings, or are just sitting in line. You probably won't even enjoy going 30 on a scooter, TBH. Used to have an Ausom that could, and it felt more sterile than the climber without the fun factor.

I bought my dt2 pro through Amazon. Estimated delivery said almost 3 weeks, it came in about 10 days. Amazon also offers a 2 year extended warranty. Ausom warranty is 6 months on some of the more critical parts. I've bought several scooters through Amazon, no complaints.

I feel like Segway being #1 and Hiboy being recommended over Teveruns and Ausom's tell me all I need to know about these recommendations/reviews: namely, that these are recommendations for primarily commuters and I am not the target audience. That's all fine and dandy, it's interesting to see the data for the recs. For context: I own a Mantis King GT and a DT2 Pro.

I was going to come in to vote on the Ausom DT2 Pro as well. I'm kind of curious why you stated at such a low range. In theory the thing has a 70 mile range but we know people don't ride like that. But I tend to do single and dual motor pretty aggressively and I can get around 40 mi out of it. I have a 7 Mile ride to work and I only have to charge it every third day. I have noticed a decent amount of power drop as the battery power level drops though, so I'll probably keep it fairly charged. It's a super solid scooter, it's reliably getting me back and forth to work and around town in general. Edit to add : I've barely touched Race mode on it though. I mostly ride greenways. I tend to do Single Motor Sport In areas where I have to slow down, but mostly stay in Dual Motor Sport

Yeah, the DT2 pro usually makes more sense if you have a little bit more room in the budget because of the hydraulic brakes versus the cable brakes on the G2 master. Mechanical brakes are pretty horrible to maintain and adjust as the pads wear out.

Supposedly Ausom a slightly better, but I would honestly put them into a very similar tier. Kukirin can sometimes see more negative, but I think that's because they're much more popular and available more globally so there's more people posting about a negative experience. Ausom it is a bit newer, so it doesn't quite have that popularity. I would mainly recommend the Ausom because of the hydraulic brakes and other slight improvement over the G2 master

Ausom fudges their numbers more than most. Teverun for example is very close to reality. Really depends on brand, but take the specs from the scooter and run it through a calculator, probably more accurate than the average manufacturer claim

Dt2 is a good first scooter. This will prevent you from having to spend another 1000 to 2000 dollars on another scooter to scratch that speed itch. My first scooter was a segway g2 max. I LOVE IT TO DEATH..... but the top speed is 22 mph.... i spent 600 dollars on it, then spent 1750 dollars on my current scooter which is the maxfun 10 pro...... So all in all i spent WELL over 2k on 2 scooters when i could have been like you and just spent ~1k on 1 (btw i lowkey wish I started off with your scooter or the L2 max)

I recently bought a dt2 pro, and I love it. Granted, I've only gotten about 30 miles on it so far. It's A huge upgrade from my Fifth wheel v30. The only complaint so far is the battery gauge fluctuates by how you are riding at the moment. also I don't care for how it drops into park mode after 30 seconds, then into eco mode when u take it out of park.

I bought one a few months ago as my first scooter, I've been riding motorcycles and ditbikes for 20 years though. Just be careful with race mode, maybe turn down the acceleration p setting. Also they say abs but it isn't actual abs so keep that in mind it is just electronic braking. One thing I noticed with the electronic braking is it doesnt seem to always kick in right away when it is fully charged. My guess is it has something to do with not overloading it? Just make sure to get yourself some good protective gear. I use my full faced motorcycle helmet and gloves. If you plan on riding at night I would get a better headlight. Also check the tire pressure every time you ride it i bought a small rechargeable air pump to keep in my backpack.

I think the frame is probably higher quality than the G4, but I don't think it's better than the G2 Master. I also don't like the type of folding mechanism that the joyors have (it can get a bit loose over time). But the Joyor T10 also has some pretty big advantages compared to the G2 Master. It's 60v, has hydraulic brakes and it's like 200€/$ cheaper than the G2 Master. Joyor is less popular than KuKirin, and this model is very new so there isn't many reports on how good it is and especially how long it lasts. So you can either save money and get something that's a bit better in some ways and a little bit worse than the G2 Master, or get the more popular one just because we already now it's fine. Also If you are spending G2 Master or G4 money on a scooter you should also look into the "Ausom DT2 pro", which should be better than all 3 of those at a similar price to the G4, or the "Ausom L2 Max Dual Motor" which is a bit slower than the G2 Master but it's also cheaper and like the Joyor better in some ways and worse in some other small ways.

Ausom DT2, Kukirin G2, VIPCOO VS6 Pro. They are made on the same production line from a Chinese factory, so basically the same thing aside from the looks. I've tried my friend's VIPCOO VS6 Pro a few times. Excellent scooter with probably the best suspensions you could expect from a scooter. I assume the DT2 and G2 are the same. But I personally appreciate VIPCOO's design more, and they are doing a discount now, only costs about $850. Anyone you pick, I'm sure you are gonna love the shit out of it.

The DT2 Pro is about 150$ over my budget right now but it does look good. Specs similar to the Kukirin G2 Master but about 200W more power, ~10 kph higher top speed, and almost double the range. The range is a nice thing to have so I'll consider it if I can pull an extra 150$ out of somewhere

I grabbed a DT2 Pro a few weeks back. Love the suspension, connection points and wiring, along with the build quality overall. Notes: Brakes make some noise for a bit; normal, imo 'Hidden Menu's is really nice to enable/fiable onboard riding features and basic display, start-up, or power preferences. CONS: One or two small negatives I can share are; 1a. I wish the battery percentage was visible, with a bit better tracking overall. Decent, but it's the easiest to run out of batt, since it's without any way to see a distance left (or similar), compared to any other EV I've owned or built. 1b. No firmware update option, apart from a defect, or support path when needed. (I haven't owned this long enough to know how much that will really effect me, or the longevity of this scooter, though I'd like to see this offered in general) 2. Your limited to only 1 color led option (Blue), while the blinkers are essentially invisible, since they're unfortunately mounted on the rear of the deck. Glad they're there, though, handlebar-height leds are what I will be adding on for visibility when on-road/in city PROS: \-FAF boiii!! \-Adjustable handlebar components. \-EZ to wheelie, decent on wet/loose ground, along with the street for the mostly off-road tires included. \-Comfortable and heavy, so it feels very stable, while providing decent turn raid. Wide-ish bar, have to really lean, keep the scooter upright, or dig and push quick, BUT this handles any/all riding styles I've thrown at it. \-Legit headstock; you could change your bars to almost anything you like, but the stock is good with plenty of room for a couple of other mounted items. (Mirror, riser, phone mount, Ext LEDs to keep batt) https://preview.redd.it/kfo138sfdyqf1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ab71bb6ddf46b857d6054e0fe0e89fdcf6dc52d

If you can push your budget, something like that kukirin g2 or similar might do the trick. Because depending on the hill, you're basically gonna want dual motors. I'm 245lbs now but when I was 280ish I struggled even with a scooter that was single motor and around 1000watts. I'm also 6 foot two. And at 6 foot five you may want something that has a standard handlebar and a stem mount. That means you would be able to use a bicycle, stem razor that would essentially allow you to increase the height of the handlebars by 2 to 4 inches which would make a lot more comfortable to ride without feeling like you're riding a kids scooter. I did that and I'm only 6ft 2in. So I think that's something you would definitely benefit from. It sucks but at your weight. You really want something heavier duty. You gotta remember that a lot of the cheaper scooters were tested using Asian people which are typically closer between 100 and 150 pounds. An idea of what you might consider https://ausomstore.com/products/ausom-dt2-pro-e-scooter

I have the dt2 pro with just over 200 miles on it. It is great. Things to be noted however, the throttle response is insane. Very little play between reasonable acceleration and full blast, takes some getting used to. Break were very squeaky from factory (I assume someone with oily hands/gloves assembled it) but easy to clean. Otherwise been flawless. Hauls ass and is comfy.
