I do not have any experience with the Baratza, but I got the OXO conical burr as a gift. It's still the only grinder I have and honestly, I think it's great. I get very good tasting cups out of it, it's easy to clean and for filter coffee the grind settings are great. For me, the biggest cons is how much static it builds up, which can lead to some clumps in the coffee. And the ground catcher doesn't lock in. All that said, I am just starting out my coffee journey and will be buying a ZP6 by the end of the year. But I think to start, the price point for an electric grinder is hard to beat.
r/pourover • Thoughts on OXO conical burr grinder? ->Get a used grinder on marketplace for sure. Oxo and Breville are the bare minimum, but if you see a sub-$50 Baratza, that's even better. If you don't want to then start buying more beans, just resell it yourself when you finish the bag. Anything lower-end than those and I wouldn't bother. Blade grinders ruin beans, as do super cheap "burr" grinders like Cuisinart and Shardor. As far as storage, if you brew coffee daily, I'd just keep them in a resealable container (with a "burp" valve if possible; old bags from previous coffee purchases should work) in a cool and dry place.
r/Coffee • I paid a lot (way too much perhaps?) for a bag of whole beans on vacation- now I'm home and need some guidance on treating these beans well ->I like my Oxo conical burr
r/Moccamaster • Anyone have a recommended electric grinder? ->I took the same path. The k6 smokes the oxo. The only advantage the oxo has is that you can grind a whole bag at once, but you don't often need to do that if you drink pourover.
r/pourover • Thoughts on OXO conical burr grinder? ->Get oxo burr works better for home
r/espresso • Why are my grinds so coarse? [Cuisine Art Supreme Burr Grinder] ->I have the oxo. It's great
r/BuyItForLife • Coffee Grinder - Simple , set it once and forget it ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I started with the OXO and got a Kingrinder K6 hand grinder a year ago. I get much more flavor out of the K6 than the OXO for sure. Noticeably different.
r/pourover • Thoughts on OXO conical burr grinder? ->No matter how course I go with the OXO it still produces too many fines to yield a quality pour over
r/pourover • Thoughts on OXO conical burr grinder? ->I upgraded to a burr grinder a few months ago, an OXO Conical Burr grinder. It made a huge difference for me. Every morning I grind just enough for 2 cups of coffee. I also learned how to make my own cold brew. The beauty of a burr grinder is being able to adjust for different brewing methods. My grinder cost $100, but I got it on sale for 25% off. I'd say, if you make only one type of coffee and you've been pleased with your current system, just stick with what works for you. But should you ever need to replace your grinder, maybe consider investing in a burr grinder.
r/Coffee • Are burr grinders that necessary? ->I have the OXO with the built in scale model and have enjoyed it as my first electric grinder, knowing fully well it's not going to give me the "perfect" grind. But, being that I've never had any other, my taste buds dont even know what I'm missing out on so it doesn't bother me!
r/pourover • Thoughts on OXO conical burr grinder? ->I have the Oxo grinder with integrated scale. Love it
r/coffeestations • Manual or electric grinder? ->I've used both and had just the OXO for years. It's good, but not great. If you think you'll be wanting to sample and try lots of light roasts go with one of the nicer baratzas or the fellow ode or opus IMO. If you just want a solid cup of coffee every day and aren't chasing clarity the OXO will be fine.
r/pourover • View on Reddit →I got a home grinder initially so that my coffee wouldn't go stale as fast. Whole beans last longer than preground. Part of the bonus was, hopefully, that I could buy a larger bag for cheaper and still get good coffee for less money per cup. Then I got better at dialing in my grind size and getting the smoothest flavor I could, so now rather than spending ten dollars per kilo of commodity-grade coffee, I'm happy spending twenty per 300g of specialty coffee. 🤣 For the same money, you'll get much better grind quality in a hand grinder than you would for electric. Get a Timemore or 1ZPresso and it'll rival electric grinders costing double or triple as much. It'll take a bit longer, but with the modern class of hand grinders, you're only looking at maybe 45 seconds for a 3-cup pot without working very hard (which is much better than multiple minutes in a Hario Skerton). In electric grinders, the bare minimum I'd recommend would be an Oxo or a Baratza. But I'd rather step up to, say, the DF54, Eureka Mignon series, Urbanic, and some others.
r/mokapot • View on Reddit →I use the OXO conical burr coffee grinder. No static issues. I picked up during Prime Day for $140. Checking now Amazon has it for $186
r/CostcoCanada • View on Reddit →I had the OXO but wanted something better. Upgraded to the K Ultra and was very happy with my decision. I don't think the OXO made bad cups, but the step up was noticeable. As an added bonus it doesn't wake the entire house up when I make my first cup of coffee.
r/pourover • View on Reddit →I went from a K6 to a $100ish Oxo burr grinder and I like it. It does tend to produce a certain amount of fines though.
r/AeroPress • View on Reddit →Oxo Conical Burr Grinder. Costs about $150 and it's about as noisy as most, but it's very fast and the grind consistency is excellent, even at the finer (espresso) end of the 10-setting scale. The aluminum catch cup is well designed and not subject to static issues.
r/CostcoCanada • View on Reddit →What head to head comparisons are you talking about? I've used the OXO and I'd be shocked if it performed at the same level as an Encore.
r/pourover • View on Reddit →Through trial and error I determined a setting that produces a quantity of grounds at the fineness setting I like to make a cup. So I just press the button and 5 seconds later I have grounds. If I want to make a pot, I just run it as many times as needed.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →All the popular options already mentioned. I used the Oxo for about a year. Nice enough grind but the timer didn't deliver the same quantity of grounds each day. I ruled out the KM5 because I didn't want to stand there with my finger on the button while it worked. Baratza Encore has an on-off switch on the side but still feeds from a hopper - not a big problem mind you, but accuracy would require some weighing. Fellow Ode 2 is set up to grind enough beans for one pot, so I have to weigh before I grind. And the Ode 2 shuts off automatically when the beans are gone. So I picked the Ode 2. Still in its first week, but it's quiet and delivers some really nice grind for the MM. Your choice will depend on your own workflow. But any of Baratza, Fellow, or Moccamaster will deliver a great grind.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →Under $150? Baratza Encore at $149.95! Oxo Conical Burr grinder is okay at about $75 today on Prime Day sale. I use the Oxo, but I have a Fellow Ode 2 in bound.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →> If it's REALLY something I should look into... It really is. > ... can anyone recommend one that would accommodate a small amount of beans at a time? I don't want a big hopper to deal with as I'm generally drinking something different every morning Most good grinders, actually. Large hoppers have largely gone out of fashion because a lot of coffee drinkers do exactly this. > ... can anyone recommend one... Depends on your budget. I used the Oxo conical burr grinder for a while, and as a grinder it's a very good cost-to-value ratio. It's not really set up for small quantities of beans, but you can get a bellows thing that really helps. TBH, though, get the Fellow Ode gen 2. New it's become too expensive, but you can find used ones on ebay for not-ridiculous prices. It's just an excellent single-serve grinder. (Or do what I did and get an Ode gen 1 and fit the Gen 2 burrs -- those really are worth it.)
r/Coffee • View on Reddit →I used to be a housewares manager at bbby. The ox is pretty good, and had a small return rate. Biggest issie was when people didn't clean it for a long time.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I have an oxo that easily grinds enough for a full pot
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →Someone donated one of these to the coffee club at work; so I got to test drive it first. It's a big upgrade from my Krupps. The main thing I like is the metal receptacle that is grounded when in place; so no static like with a plastic one. The motor is also strong and quiet.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I had an OXO for a long time and for a basic coffee grinder I'll always recommend it. That being said if you are doing pour over or are a coffee nerd its worth investing in something better. It sounds like this post is most likely for a drip coffee maker so it would be perfect for the OXO.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Is that the $99 one on Amazon. I thought it was a solid grinder. Not fine enough for espresso but probably good for pour over.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →The bare minimum electric coffee grinder I'd go for would be Oxo's at near $90, because although the grind quality isn't that bad (much better than the Cuisinart tangentially mentioned in that Prima Coffee article), the workflow and UX are quite good. We got one for my sister and she's pretty happy with it. Baratza is the big name for the next tier up, and we're already around $150-ish. Kitchenaid and Breville each have a pretty good one at $200, and then the field starts to get crowded around $300 with Fellow, Eureka, Varia, Turin, and a bunch of others. $500-plus gets you home-friendly models by cafe-workhorse brands like Mahlkönig. Over in hand grinders, "end game" territory starts as low as $150-200 if you do some judicious shopping, and "very good entry level" below $100 from brands like Timemore, 1ZPresso, Normcore, or Kingrinder. I've got a little 1ZPresso Q2 and don't feel much need to get anything else unless I want to do espresso (or brew big batches daily).
r/Coffee • View on Reddit →The Oxo Conical Burr Grinder is a perfectly appropriate <$100 electric grinder for the average person that doesn't need espresso grind (which MokaPot does not). It's probably one of the best options in the <$100 range for electric. I was opposed to the idea at first, but someone suggested a hand grinder to me. I ended up buying a Kingrinder K2 and I absolutely love it. For <$100 you get a grind quality that rivals grinders 4x your budget. A lot of people suggest the K6. I chose the K2 intentionally because it produces more fines, vs the K6 that produces significantly less. Fines are what give body to metal filter brewing - MokaPot, espresso, french press, phin, etc. The K6 would produce a much "cleaner" cup with less body, which to me defeats the charm of the brew method. But either are excellent, they're such low effort that even my wife uses it much to my surprise, and takes <30 seconds to grind a MokaPot dose.
r/mokapot • View on Reddit →I have three - Baratza Encore for everything but espresso, Eureka Mignon Zero for espresso, and an OXO grinder as a backup (was in regular use before getting the Encore.)
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I use a oxo burr grinder, there's a plastic housing that holds the beans and funnels it into the grinder. but after that it's all metal. and I use a chemex with a paper lining. I'll be okay with plastic touching room temp whole beans for a total of $100.
r/PlasticFreeLiving • View on Reddit →Oxo is performing very well and less than $100
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →That's the one. I don't really do espresso so not concerned about getting down to a uniform powder. I have had it several years and it has been quiet and very reliable. Can't speak to benefits of the Encore over it. With regard to the timer, I weigh my coffee so I don't really care about that. Time to grind a specified rate will vary with every bean variety anyway.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →I did this research a while back and ended up buying the Oxo burr grinder. Have had it 5+ years, zero complaints. The main difference with the higher end ones at the time was that they weighed the grounds - I'm not sophisticated enough to need that feature, and it literally doubled the price.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Same the oxo worked but isn't consistent with its grind.
r/pourover • View on Reddit →I use the Oxo grinder now, but I kinda wish I'd gotten the Encore instead. The Oxo is okay. The timer isn't that reliable though - get big differences in weight day-to-day with same bean, same grind, same time. I just re-invested in a grinder with a Prime Day Ode 2. Haven't used it yet. Enjoy!
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →Any burr grinder will be better than any blade grinder. They have OXO burr grinders that are very affordable.
r/Coffee • View on Reddit →I'm going to make every one of you sweats mad at me, but my oxo burr grinder (70ish bucks) does fine.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →The oxo has a dial to set how much you grind at a time
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →Unfortunately there aren't a lot of great home options with all of the features you're looking for. What you're describing, in essence, is a grind by weight grinder that uses an integrated scale to precisely dose exactly the set amount of coffee at the push of a button. Those grinders exist, but are generally meant for commercial espresso use, as that's the use case where exact, repeatable doses matters most. The only consumer grinder I'm aware of with a built in scale is made by OXO: https://www.oxo.com/shop/coffee-beverage/coffee-tea/oxo-on-conical-burr-coffee-grinder-with-intergrated-scale.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=2024-03-01_kw_na_bsnw_na_multi_oxo_bestnew_na_na_na_n/a_na_na_na_na_dtc_na_na&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21791612159&gbraid=0AAAAADHFonCxYh_VYq18f9QXuY5Y2XFWl&gclid=CjwKCAjwgeLHBhBuEiwAL5gNEbDwR6Rd5nxQglIhEiZkhdD_sShNEP1bcS_UHlwCR50aOFPDuF325RoCkQEQAvD_BwE I've tested this grinder and had good results. It won't give you the best grind consistency compared to some similarly priced options from companies like Fellow or Baratza, but it's good enough for most people, and the built in scale brings a ton of value to the table. (I'm a coffee professional)
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I have an Oxo grinder that works well. It doesn't get clogged and the adjustment of grind size is easy. You measure by length of grind which works pretty well for me but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing to others.
r/CostcoCanada • View on Reddit →I use my oxo burr grinder for single cups every single day 🤷
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I use an oxo grinder that was on sale on Amazon for 50ish bucks. Really solid. You don't need to go to crazy for coffee grinds. Espresso can be way more fineky
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →Question: should you have more than one coffee grinder if you drink coffee different ways? I have an OXO burr grinder. I grind for my drip coffee and also for espresso.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Conical Burr Grinders. That's the key. As others may have pointed out brand names can be deceiving with multiple names from the same company and very different quality levels. We have - and are VERY happy with the Oxo conical grinder with the stainless steel "cup" for the grinds. (Plastic cups get very charged and the coffee fines end up attracted to them - - big mess. AVOID) We've found this precise, reliable, (not quiet) and affordable if it lasts. We've had it a year and a half and are very happy. Paid $149 (in Canada) and it looks like they manage that price quite carefully -- it only rarely seems to drop below that. Once you do your measures and know what you need it's a simple one push - boom: just the right amount for your cup or filter or maker. r/CostcoCanada • View on Reddit →Sounds like the K6 is the winner in the comments. But if you want a budget, beginner friendly electric option, I recommend the Oxo Conical Burr grinder. It was my first grinder I bought for pour overs and it served me well for over two years. It will do the trick if you are just getting into pour overs.
