Doesn't it suffer from crazy static electricity? I chose the Eureka Specialita because it has zero static (I guess thanks to it's 100% metal construction) for similar quality in term of particle size distribution
r/espresso • I analyzed Reddit for the 10 most recommended electric coffee grinders on r/espresso in the past year ->I don't have any consistency or dialing issue. The settings for my different beans are written down on a sheet and they always work. (I switch beans every day)
r/espresso • I analyzed Reddit for the 10 most recommended electric coffee grinders on r/espresso in the past year ->depends on volume (how much are you grinding every day) and budget. Pretty decent manual burr grinders can be had for 30-40CAD, pretty nice Japanese made porlex ceramic burr manual grinder is about 100CAD. These are good enough to grind upto 20-30gms of beans a day before you get bored and tired. Then comes the rabbit hole of home barista use powered grinders. A good espresso grade grinder can be a few hundred dollars. The Baratza encore, Eureka specialita etc come under this category. Then comes the commercial grinders like a bunn commercial grinder that can be had used for less than a grand used on fb marketplace / restaurant supply stores that can grind upto a kilo in a minute.
r/CostcoCanada • How do you grind your coffee beans now that the in-store grinders are gone ->Below .5 on average. But it still feels like a waste, maybe retention. I am just thinking about efficiency and consistent. No complaints about the Specialita except for the fact I need to adjust with each new bean.
r/espresso • I analyzed Reddit for the 10 most recommended electric coffee grinders on r/espresso in the past year ->man don't get the specialita, coming from someone who has it. the thing drives me crazy
r/espresso • Girlfriend Says Hand Grinder Has to Go - Help Me Choose My First Electric Grinder [~500€] ->You said this is your first grinder and even don't have a machine yet. Go for a seperate set of hand- and electric grinders. I use a Kingrinder K6 & Eureka Mignon Specialita at home. For me the ideal setup: I can bring my grinder with me on trips where I use an aeropress. Also use it for pourover, the Mignon is for espresso. You really don't want to change grinder setups for different brewmethods.
r/pourover • What is the best at-home coffee grinder. I don't mind spending $$. ->Second a eureka mignon - Italians make good motors
r/BuyItForLife • Coffee Grinder - Simple , set it once and forget it ->[espresso coffee shop](https://www.espressocoffeeshop.com/en/coffee-grinders/55-657-0-eureka-mignon-specialita--coffee-grinder.html#/2-voltage-110_v/4-color-black/9-set_up-15bl) has great prices on grinders. They ship directly from Europe, I got the specialita shipped to my door for about 420$. It's an amazing grinder for espresso. For a machine since you work from home and make multiple milk drinks have you considered a heat exchanger and smart plug. IMO nothing looks better on the counter than an E61 style group head and a HX machine will be best for steaming and making espresso. I have a classika single boiler because i dont do milk drinks, but with a 12$ smart switch its ready to go when i wake up and stays on until afternoon. Something like this would last you many many years to come and would be capable of anything you throw at it. Your workflow would be much easier too which is worth its weight in gold. My philosophy is always buy once cry once, no point upgrading 6 different times.

r/pourover • Grinder ->Have owned all the grinders on your list, at one point or another. Agree that Duo might be your best bet. Ability to play with other 83mm burrs is a good hedge against future curiosity. Recommend getting second (filter) burr option, because having the extra carrier for fast(ish) swaps is nice. Cannot recommend the Eurekas. Good build, very pretty, but burrs are proprietary and the grind chamber/chute design is antediluvian. Fine for hopper base on-demand grinding, but crap for single dosing. Even with the mods (tilted base, bellows), retention is terrible. Eureka's attempts at single-dosing focused grinders are not honest efforts. Just a new model name and superficial accessories. And their new dial is just...stupid. Still not enough ratio to overcome the thread lash in their adjustment screw. The rev counter is nice enough, but a big dial like [this](https://www.amazon.com/ARO-EspressoTM-Eureka-Mignon-Adjustments/dp/B0CLCB8VQ6/ref=asc_df_B0CLCB8VQ6) is much more effective (and not stupid looking, imho) Libra portafilter contact sensor was unreliable. I heard they fixed it, but I had given up already and moved on. When it worked, it was...ok. Weight accuracy wasn't bad, but irrelevant because it was a hot mess of sprayed grounds. RDT absolutely necessary in my environment (20-50%RH over the year), but the extra moisture caused caking/clogging in the chute. From a taste perspective...it's ok. Blendy, decent body, not a lot of clarity. Little unkempt and harsh. Good in milk drinks. Niches - good workflow, probably among the best, even compared against titan grinders at 5x the price. Personally, not a fan of Mazzer burrs. Harsh and bitter finish. The Zero doesn't have any options for their 63mm conical, so you're kinda stuck. The stock Duo espresso burr was, to me, a cleaner version of Zero profile. Other options: Mazzer Philos. The grinder itself is a bit pricey, and rumor has it that the i200D and 189D burrs are big improvements over Mazzer traditional flavor profile - but it's a good platform for 64mm burr space, where you are spoilt for choice and the burrs are cheaper than 83mm. Hope that helps
r/espresso • Grinder Upgrade [£500-1000] ->I have bambino plus and specialita. I'm happy with them For specialita a bottomless portafilter will not fit on the fork thing for "handless grinding". I personally grind into a blind shaker that's elevated on something a bit. Anyways it works amazing. If you DO go for it, I would buy a grinder setting dial that's big, so you can know better what grind size you are. Secondly, consider changing to a single dose hopper if you wish. It has around 1g retention without it, which doesn't matter if you use the same beans/ grind basically.

Eureka Mignon. I would not go cheaper than that ($200-$250 for an espresso grinder). edit: reasons to go with Eureka: you get a consistent grind. easy to clean, easy to disassemble, easy to replace parts and replacement parts are available. reasons to go no less than $200-$250 for any grinder: below that you just won't get a consistent grind which will be frustrating as you learn to make espresso and ultimately cost you a lot of money in beans. for brewing coffee it doesn't matter but for espresso it really does.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →What roast levels do you enjoy? I had a Specialita and it was fantastic for medium and darks but on light roasts it really struggles. I moved to a DF64 v2 that I got used and it's been very good. Definitely not on par in terms of build quality, but it makes very good coffee and so far is quite consistent.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I have the specialita and a mate has the niche zero. Darker roast the niche shines for lighter roasts I'd go with the specialita. Both grinders are pretty quiet :) But thats only my 2 Cents
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Yes, I think they are great. Much less retention than the Mignon we originally bought & then returned. Easy to adjust, reliable. We use it for decaf, V60 & filter in a small cafe.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Eureka mignon specialita, upgraded to GBW. Couldn't be happier.

r/espresso • View on Reddit →I got the Specialita and I believe - from my multiple reviews - the DF54 is up there is due to it's pricing. I've had the Baratza but the level up from previous to current one is not comparable. Eureka is just solid!
r/espresso • View on Reddit →You might be able to pick up a second hand Eureka Mignon for around that price, that's what I did.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Ode2 and Baratza Encores are the buy once for AP/PO. I've had my Encore for years pushing AP or doing the occasional PO. I also have a Eureka for espresso and 1z JX Pro, but once you go electric, it's a luxury. I only take the manual when travelling or at our cottage.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →This is true, the biggest downside is the adjustment knob, which you have to use completely blindly, the markers are very vague on it. I got used to it, but don't have to switch for different coffee types.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I would take the Sette 30 off your list. It lacks the fine-grained adjustments needed to dial in espresso, unless you upgrade it to a Sette 270 by purchasing the micro-adjustment ring. I would suggest the following: 1. DF54 if low budget is the most important factor. 2. DF64 if you want faster grinding than the 54 and the ability to later upgrade with aftermarket burrs. 3. CF64V, newer version of the DF64 4. Silenzio if you don't want to single dose. For used, look for Eureka Specialita (has a much better timer than Silenzio), Niche Zero or Timemore 064s/078s.

r/Slovakia • View on Reddit →Then id get a eureka specialita or a shardor if this is gonna be your "backup/wife" grinder.. I have my specialita for 6 months now. And its really a very solid grinder. Every mans friend. Very balanced burr set and for a 55mm its pretty fast (8 to 9 seconds for fresh beans to grind 18 gram) Im waiting for blackfriday sales. Hoping to score a mahlkonig x64sd as the reviews describe the burr set in that grinder is what in looking for (heavier body / darker flavour notes / very little acidity) as a "mostly milkdrink" kinda guy
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Never thought of needing another than my eureka specialita
r/espresso • View on Reddit →A Eureka Specialita. It was around $400 and has served me well
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I use a Eureka Mignon for espresso and a K6 for pour over. I'm very happy with both
r/pourover • View on Reddit →Eureka Specialita is a solid choice, especially with an aftermarket dial. DF64 seems to have been a popular choice for many years now too
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Had both, would recommend to search for a used Gaggia Classic or Rancilio Silvia. I can't really recommend the grinder either. I've heard that DF54 is a good choice, I personally use the Eureka Specialita with a single dose hopper and I'm pretty happy with it. I believe you can get both new for around 800€ ?
r/espresso • View on Reddit →That's a great grinder, but it's horrible to switch from espresso to cold brew and back. You'd be doing something like seven blind turns of the little adjustment dial.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I'd say pony up for the bigger 078S, to avoid future regret from upgraditis & curiosities :-) I found my Specialita to be a bit of a narrowly ranged, kinda struggling to get nuances right out of med/light roast, more towards med/dark-dark roast. Not sure if that's the characteristic of it being 54mm, or Eureka burrs in general. Handgrinders are cool for a minute, good luck dialing in for espresso without getting frustrated.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I had a couple of their Mini's and highly highly recommend them to anybody new to prosumer gear since they last forever are very simple to work on and you can find them sometimes for 300 to 400 dollars in great shape. Just look for one that was privately owned. Now I have a CEADO it was supposed to be a big step up to go back to a mazzer, even though I am looking at some higher end grinders these days. I also had one of these in an apartment that we just sold all the contents of. I like the dosing a lot, but it made a big mess. https://thekitchenbarista.com/products/eureka-mignon-specialita-flat-burr-coffee-grinder-chrome
r/espresso • View on Reddit →The Eureka Mignon series will grind to the 190-195 micron range depending on which model.
r/Coffee • View on Reddit →I got a specialità recently. It's a brilliant grinder; I bought it because I got fed up with the grinder in my BBE. The only thing I can say about it that I don't like is the dial. But you can get an aftermarket one one ones that solve that very easily and are really easy to install.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Eureka mignon specialita, had it for about a year now and no regrets :) paid about $450 USD shipped from Italy (way before all these tariff bs) Reason I bought was because my baratza was giving out, was initially looking to upgrade in the $200 range but friend had a silenzio and he convinced me into getting eureka!
r/espresso • View on Reddit →DF 64 Gen2, Timemore sculptor series or niche series are the best grinders in that budget, if you consider taste, UX, and single dose performance - with one caveat, the current sculptor dosing cup is not the best, but a V2 is in the works DF 64 Gen2 is a bit louder Niche is slow at grinding, but imo no concern for home use at all Eureka is solid but a bit cheaper in the build quality, the single Dosing is also a bit worse. More retention (3g vs 0-1g) and hard to hit the exact grind setting again if you switch between beans (very small adjustment knob). But not a bad grinder at all, the others are just a little bit better.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Not at all, but I have extra grinders available, so why not? Edit: If you asked about the Specialita, the answer would be yes. That thing is terrible at re-dialing in. The Zerno is nearly effortless.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I recently changed to specialita. Very happy with it, easy to adjust, tons of accessories easily available. My main additions are 3d printed bellows and single dose kit.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →For pour over I used the Fellow Ode Gen 2. Since making the switch to espresso I've used the Eureka Specialita with the Aro dial. Both grinders are brilliant but I feel like the Ode is ONLY for pour over whereas the Specialita can do everything.
r/pourover • View on Reddit →Eureka Specialita Ironically, I recommended my friend to buy from Espresso Coffee Shop which was like 1/3 the local price. He bought it and showed me so I tried it out. Turned out I liked it and bought one myself. Used to manually weigh my grinds and had to guestimate approx 20g before using the scales. The timer function just made it so easy
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I've had a Specialita for years that I got on a great deal from espressocoffeeshop (I think mine was around $400). Such a solid grinder, it even took a rock a few months ago and barely more than a scratch on the burrs.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I have a grinder for 3 different consumption methods: Espresso = Zerno, Cold brew = Eureka Mignon Specialita, Pourover = hand grinder. That way, they're all dialed in. I didn't intend for this to happen, but upgraded over time and repurposed the grinders as I went.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I would say a Eureka Specialita could do the job. The one finicky thing is the grind dial needs to be rotated possibly multiple rotations to get between espresso and filter grind. So you need to test that out to find the right settings then ***write it down*** so you remember how to get between them. Like "*2.5 full rotations to get to filter and back*". The alternative, and what I do, is have my main grinder used 99% of the time for espresso. Then I have a nice 1Zpresso J-Max hand grinder that I use for filter, aeropress, French press, etc. I can hand grind for those coarser grinds in no time and little effort. I only drastically change my main grinder settings if I'm gonna do a huge batch of cold brew, because I'm not gonna hand grind like 200 grams of coffee.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →after obsessing over grinders I went for a specialita on sale for 330 USD. you could argue that a silenzio is even more future proof ( i don't use the timer and the screen will fail before the grinder) . I added a big dial from ario and a single dose bellow hopper. is it an endgame grinder ? no, but it's built well, very silent, great for espresso. its resale value is strong when/if my skills require a better grinder. Bigger burrs don't really matter for single dosing, where speed is usually not a goal.in itself. if you are super consistent with your puck prep and have mastered your machine and ideal water, maybe upgrade to a grinder that can accept special burrs and such.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →Eureka Specialita is okay. I had one with a bambino plus and it was what made me upgrade my coffee machine. It wasn't forgiving enough when dialing in. Retention was also higher than I would like. I ended up modding with a bunch of 3D parts to make it more user-friendly. I would spend the extra on a niche
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Can you get a used eureka specialita for that money? It's my go to recommendation for Espresso on any sensible budget. Nothing (apart from maybe the Mazzer Philos) has persuaded me to replace it!
r/espresso • View on Reddit →Neither the Shardor, Hibrew, or Casabrews are likely to meet your requirement for a 5 year life. The Baratza ESP has the best build quality of any device on your list, but you can still do better. I'd suggest a Gaggia Classic E24 for the machine, and one of the Eureka Mignon grinders. These are high quality products that should last forever if well taken care of. I wouldn't give a lot of credence to the Amazon reviews. Many people buy espresso equipment (especially Breville) without realizing how difficult it is to learn to use. They get rapidly frustrated, blame their problems on the machine, and give it a poor review. Feedback from this sub and other coffee/espresso forums is much more relevant than Amazon ratings.
r/espresso • View on Reddit →I got a home grinder initially so that my coffee wouldn't go stale as fast. Whole beans last longer than preground. Part of the bonus was, hopefully, that I could buy a larger bag for cheaper and still get good coffee for less money per cup. Then I got better at dialing in my grind size and getting the smoothest flavor I could, so now rather than spending ten dollars per kilo of commodity-grade coffee, I'm happy spending twenty per 300g of specialty coffee. 🤣 For the same money, you'll get much better grind quality in a hand grinder than you would for electric. Get a Timemore or 1ZPresso and it'll rival electric grinders costing double or triple as much. It'll take a bit longer, but with the modern class of hand grinders, you're only looking at maybe 45 seconds for a 3-cup pot without working very hard (which is much better than multiple minutes in a Hario Skerton). In electric grinders, the bare minimum I'd recommend would be an Oxo or a Baratza. But I'd rather step up to, say, the DF54, Eureka Mignon series, Urbanic, and some others.
r/mokapot • View on Reddit →Eureka Mignon, Set time, grind size once. Forever after just press the beaker up againÈ™t the grinder to start grinding so really I would call that half a button. It's consistent, can do just about any coffee and precise. It's built like a tank, lasts like a tank, weighs like a tank all while optically oozing the sleek but rugged luxury vibes of a chrome G-Wagon for your kitchen. Its an expensive, delightfully over-engineered flex of a product, but then this is what this community is all about.
