I would start with the Neo 2. I have several drones but prefer to use my Neo as it is just so easy to take with you and get it filming quickly. The camera is more than adequate for social media. It is also nearly indestructible as well as the cheapest one available.
r/dji • What drone should I buy for my needs? ->I would do neo 2 for price point and functionality. That's the drone you should look at. Better then both significantly and the price is cheap too.
r/dji • First time drone flier: Flip or Mini 4k ->The LiDAR and 360 obstacle sensing abilities plus the ability to fly in so many different ways also.
r/dji • First time drone flier: Flip or Mini 4k ->I might have used the wrong choice of words. I guess I meant that Neo 2 is more flexible with different ways to fly. The video quality is actually significantly better than the Neo 1 which was horrible and not usable. I have an air 3s which I love and the neos. The Neo 2 I fly more then the air 3s based on portability. But the video isn't that much different but I think it's on par or above.
r/dji • First time drone flier: Flip or Mini 4k ->Keep the Air 3s , Mavic pro 2, Neo 2 & Flip. sell the rest & get the Avata 360... Then seek out a therapist
r/dji • When your 'one drone' hobby gets out of hand... ->Flip is a big upgrade over the Mini 4K on the camera front with a larger sensor its better in low-light has HDR performance (D-Log M), can do 4K/100fps slow-mo and at least has forward obstacle sensing, You can grow into the Flip more being able to shoot in D log M & colour grade later etc. + the pre set modes and ability to take a few quick shots without control in seconds i find useful on the move. Only Benefits of mini 4k i can see is a little better wind resistance and its cheaper. The neo 2 is quite cool as well. Might also be all you need. Its the flight time that puts me off but with a few batts perhaps not an issue. Basically i would not over think it. Any drone is good to get started and get a feel for it. Im sure you would be delighted with a Flip, Mini 4k , Neo two , mini 3. . Just depends how much of a factor budget is.
r/drones • Is the DJI Mini 4K worth the price? ->Yes. It,ll take a bit of mastery but both the Neo 2 and Flip could be used while you are spinning the the wheels of steel. Will be a bit tricky but Both the Flip and Neo 2 have the ability to use voice commands. Both can be flown without any controler , using a smartphone or a proper controler. Guess it be easier with a side-kick controling the drone though. The Neo2 has a few more pre set modes than the flip. You can do jedi shit with both controling them using hand gestures. Probably best you binge watch some youtube vids on both, learn about their pre set modes , gesture/voice control etc. It's a tricky decision but as i said just getting in the air and some flight time in is really all that matters in the begining. Maybe check out sites like MPB & Ebay etc to see if you can snare a sweet used deal to get started.
r/drones • Is the DJI Mini 4K worth the price? ->I think the Flip and Neo 2 having a bastard child would be your ideal bird . The Neo 2 has full obstacle avoidence, the big let down is the wanky flight time. It claims 20 minutes but real world users report 12-15 minutes more accurate, its perfect on the size front though. That has to be a consideration. You would not want a DJI Inspire going out of control and crashing into your thousands of screaming fans. The Flip maybe the Best option , ideally you could then get one of your groupies to fly it for you.. pay her with a back stage pass or invite to the after party in the VIP section 😠Youtube binge watching the way to go ... Flip vs Neo2 vids etc. Its quite addictive once you get going. 🤓 PS I had zero issues with android app. You just have to side load it from dji website as its not on google play. Takes a few seconds. Very straight forward.
r/drones • Is the DJI Mini 4K worth the price? ->No. Your good with NEO2 ... Great buy sir. The Anti gravity is bloody expensive and unprkven tech. Big gimmicky imo.
r/dji • I recently purchased Dji Neo 2 and today the Antigravity launched... Should I have waited?😢 ->As most others have said the Neo 2 is a more VERSATILE drone for a beginner... Here's why - you mentioned you want a drone for casual and general use, that's the neo 2 - it's first and foremost a traditional drone with a gimbal and flight stabilization , that's Avata series is not it's an fpv drone . - it has good tracking which is awesome especially for capturing action sports - pair it with a rc and you now have basically a pretty functional classic cinematic DJI drone. The biggest difference is Avata is really more about getting that FPv (flying inside) experience which is certainly fun, but not very cinematic since it's more About adding specific shots like (chase scenes , cliff dives, low flying ridge shots) , most creators that have avata also have other DJI drones, and use Avata for special scenes.. So if your on a family vacation it's like 30s to pull out your neo 2 , get in the air take an orbit or selfie photo of your group ,all done , you would likely still be booting up Avata and it's Fpv goggles... Avata is like having a sports car, lots of fun on the weekends in a twisty road, but Neo2 is like having a daily driver way more practical for most use cases.
r/dji • Neo 2 vs Avata 2 - beginner first drone, which is better value? ->Never never never sell the weapon (unless u have another?) u never want to get caught off guard during conceal carry tho I think 9mm is too big for conceal carry imo. if u just won't use the drones I would sell them all. And wait for the neo2 in November because it's gonna be really good. Heck u will want to get a 2nd neo2 as a backup lol. That's what I'm doing. I sold mine waiting for the new neo 2.
r/dji • Which drone to sell? ->I just grabbed the neo 2 and I'm so glad I got the remote with it.
r/dji • Do you recommend this drone? ->I think I'm going to go pick mine up today. I'm just debating if I'll get it with or without the goggles 3.
r/dji • Update: Neo 2 is here, already got one ->I got it with the remote but no goggles. I'm kind of wishing that I got the goggles since the price was way lower but oh well. I'm still happy with the neo 2 and the remote.
r/dji • Update: Neo 2 is here, already got one ->I've never heard the neo 1 but my neo 2 is pretty loud. Not sure how the two compare though.
r/dji • Neo 2 is here, already got one ->I feel Neo 2 could be a good option for you. I feel It has the best active tracking for following. I've used it for a few weeks now and while family likes it lot. I use it for vlog, kids play it as fpv drone. Below was my review on the drone. r/dji • Drone Recommendations... ->I own both mini 3 pro and Neo 2. I like Neo 2 a lot. The active tracking feature on Neo 2 is a game changer for me. I did a video about Neo2 DJI Neo 2 Review - Here's What you need to know https://youtu.be/8YXTBhJFagc
r/dji • Buying a beginner camera drone - Mini 3 vs Mini 4K vs Neo 2? Need advice - Germany ->Nah, you´ll need to buy the O4 unit and the controller and all the drone components one by one (well, the price could be the main problem according your country), of course the experience of build your own UFO has no cost but think about guaranties and the whole experience of a consumer product... IMO! and Neo 1/2 are both repairables, don´t trust that guy, it doesn't mean you will fix Neo in your workshop with ducktape (or maybe), but they are not disposable at all...
r/dji • Neo 2 is here, already got one ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

Personally, I'd go for the Neo 2. I was excited about the Flip until I found that there'd be no FPV support. The Neo (1 & 2) have great support for many control options. Also more durable than the Flip. And a bargain! Also, it's always worth keeping an eye on the official refurbished stock. I got my Avata 2 that way. Full combo for the price of drone-only.
r/dji • Flip vs Neo 2: best choice for a first drone? ->Sure, for three times the price, and you need an FAA license when using the extended battery and flying anywhere above people, or for commercial purposes which includes social media / YouTube where you might make money from it. It's also not made to take the abuse the Neo 2 is.
r/dji • I recently purchased Dji Neo 2 and today the Antigravity launched... Should I have waited?😢 ->Yea it's one of the biggest downsides. I found out I was out of storage during a sunset I was trying to capture. I hope we can switch out memory on the new one.
r/gadgets • View on Reddit →No. Your good with NEO2 ... Great buy sir. The Anti gravity is bloody expensive and unprkven tech. Big gimmicky imo.
r/dji • View on Reddit →The new Neo 2 with whichever control method you like is a great option. Plenty of features for everything that you mentioned and more. Also the option to use various controls- FPV controller w/goggles, rc2 controller that has the screen, motion control with goggles, cell phone, and hand gestures. Might even be forgetting one. Also has great tracking and obstacle detection. And I've seen them depending on options you want from 400-700 on eBay and Amazon if you're in the US. Just be careful and check sellers and look into ratings and shipping. With all the DJI stuff going on with the possible ban, there's some people looking to capitalize on that. If you're not in the US then you probably have plenty of options to buy from that are reputable. Lastly, this might be a DJI sub but the Potensic Atom 2 imo is also a very cheap, feature-rich starter drone. Basic kit is around $260 I believe. Great drones for the prices. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
r/dji • View on Reddit →I just grabbed the neo 2 and I'm so glad I got the remote with it.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Avata 2! It's super easy to learn the standard controller. Picture quality is excellent in the head set. I have no complaints about mine. I fly a Mavic 3 also and of course it's a far more advanced drone, but the Avata can be more fun sometimes. If I just want to cruise around and try tricks- Avata 2. Pics and videos- Mavic 3. The neo is cute but I don't see it as a good purchase.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Neo 2 is newer, has obstacle avoidance, blades protection, and endures more crashes.
r/dji • View on Reddit →That would be a good test but not where you're supposed to be flying your drone anyway. It's not safe. I have seen some impressive videos of it following a MTB through the forest though. It dodged most branches except some thin branches that were invisible because winter made all the leaves fall off. But even though it did a 360 several times, it still managed to keep flying and get a new lock and follow the bike again.
r/gadgets • View on Reddit →I think I'm going to go pick mine up today. I'm just debating if I'll get it with or without the goggles 3.
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you are going for a fun holiday drone, Definitely go for neo2, avata is not a holiday drone, unless you are a content creator who uploads fast scenic shots avata 2 is no use, also you will never be in the shor. Of for fast fun personal flying avata2 is the best. Also, without extra battery there is no fun at all, avata has like 10-15 min runtime
r/dji • View on Reddit →Nah, you´ll need to buy the O4 unit and the controller and all the drone components one by one (well, the price could be the main problem according your country), of course the experience of build your own UFO has no cost but think about guaranties and the whole experience of a consumer product... r/dji • View on Reddit →Go neo unless you want to commit to using the goggles to fly , litterly it's near impossible to fly the DJI avata and FPV without goggles . Theres no good sticks for the avata2 out of the box so ide choose the neo because it's quick to connect and use niicorp.com for custom solutions
r/dji • View on Reddit →If the claim of nearly $3000 is accurate. We'll see. It's cool but realistically I don't need this. My Mavic 3 is more than good enough for my use and I'll get a Neo 2 eventually for travel. (If we can find any in the US once they start production 😢)
r/dji • View on Reddit →Reason why people are saying Neo 2 because its more innovative with its gesture controls, crash friendly and beginner friendly. Mini 4k is awesome but taking it up for the first time is anxiety inducing and props will damage easy or injure if you improperly handle (crash or failed hand catch). Neo 2 cam being a 2 axis gimbal also puts its stabilization on par with the Mini series now.
r/dji • View on Reddit →They are super serviceable and there are plenty of parts. I've repaired my own. If it dies and you want to replace it, you can still get them via Korea. The new neo 2 isn't even sold in the use because of MAGA, so there's a very healthy and safe market via eBay.
r/technology • View on Reddit →I feel Neo 2 could be a good option for you. I feel It has the best active tracking for following. I've used it for a few weeks now and while family likes it lot. r/dji • View on Reddit →I have the Neo 2 and am also a complete beginner. Bought a 2nd hand Mini 2 a month ago, great fun. But then I was intrigued by the Neo 2 as I love the fact it can operate on its own using the various follow me modes and gestures, also use a regular controller as well as the FPV controller and goggles. It may not have the best specs, but it gives me a good introduction to all those modes of flying. So I went for the FPV combo and haven't looked back!
r/dji • View on Reddit →As someone who dislikes the brand, truth is DJI Neo 2 is probably the only one worth considering in that price bracket. It's not suuuuper crystal clear, but it's pretty decent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma1RSswD0ts
r/Multicopter • View on Reddit →As a beginner (if i were you) the Neo 2, certainly. The fly more package is more drone for your dollar by far, with the motion controller and goggles. Amazing package really. And with the Avata360 coming soon for an entirely unique experience, I would wait for that as a next upgrade after exploring drone flying with the Neo 2.
r/dji • View on Reddit →its okay, but even the Neo 2 is better. or the mini 3 would be better. i had the 4k but happy that i crashed it very fast so i buyed mini 4 pro and now 5 pro
r/drones • View on Reddit →Video was ok on the first one, but photos sucked. This one seems noticeably better at both. Still nowhere close to a Mini.
r/gadgets • View on Reddit →I got it with the remote but no goggles. I'm kind of wishing that I got the goggles since the price was way lower but oh well. I'm still happy with the neo 2 and the remote.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Depends on your budget but Neo 2 is also smaller and easier to deploy if you're shooting yourself the camera is plenty good enough. If you're shooting landscapes yea maybe mini4pro is a good one. Keep in mind use for social media does require Part 107 iirc. Imo Neo 2 is great for shooting yourself, beginner use, and just in general gauge interest in using drones. Compared to the Mini Series, it is more of a durable design so it is more beginner friendly. Good price point to learn the hobby before diving into a drone that could at least twice as expensive. Even if she was to upgrade after, the drone could he used to learn FPV.
r/dji • View on Reddit →The fpv controller 3 works fine with the Neo 2 but only in sport and normal mode. Manual mode is not supported yet.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Yes, Mini 4K is a very good beginner drone but in terms of manual flying, all DJI consumer drones are easy for a beginner. I got the 4K a few months ago and then went on to the Mini 5 Pro. Both are just as beginner friendly when it comes to flying it. In fact, the M5P is easier to fly with its advanced features. Not surprising if people crash their M5P because they get lulled into being overconfident. 4K and Neo1/2 are easiest on the budget but still pack a lot of great features. Mini 4K if your friend prefers to fly the drone and take photos/videos; Neo1/2 if your friend prefers the drone to fly itself and follow them and take their photos/videos. Neo2 and 4K are about the same price. Neo1 is cheaper but likely heading out the door, and Neo2 has significant improvements (e.g. performance over water), so Neo2 would be recommended. Neo2's basic package doesn't come with a controller; uses hand gestures, voice or mobile phone app control. But it can be paired with a standard RC-N3 controller or FPV motion controller; both sold separately or with the appropriate combo. As others have said, atm, original or aftermarket accessories and parts should still be easily bought new or second hand even in the US. With the 4K, it can use the Mini SE, 2, 2SE batteries. So, get the 4K (or Neo2) asap because they will still be hot Christmas presents despite the looming (potential) ban in the US.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Getting back into it those are the three I'd go for. Have some diy quads, Mavic 2 Pro, and original Avata. Picked up a Mini 5 Pro and Neo 2 for ~$1500 with extra batteries and the RC2 controller and I'd be tempted by the 360 lol.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I would go with a Neo 2. It has vehicle tracking, ducted/shrouded props and 360 obstacle avoidance. You cant depend on OA 100% but it can be helpful. It's also quick to deploy, tiny, cheap, can be operated by a cell phone or controller or just by hand gestures. I think top end is 26 mph which for offloading might be enough. The bad thing with the Neo 2 is it can't shoot true vertical, i.e. rotate the gimbal so any vertical shots will be in crop.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Me having a mini 4 pro, Neo 2, Potensic atom 2, hover air pro max and air 3s and the air 3s I got for a good deal but this hobby is expensive I will say that, and I'm considering getting an avata 360 or the antigravity as I like filming In 360 lol
r/dji • View on Reddit →Just for fun and hobby: * The tiny fun one : Neo 2, get the motion combo for FPV-ish * The easy to carry but actually still takes good pictures : Mini 5 Pro * The big boy that really kills it : Mavic 4 Pro

r/dji • View on Reddit →I fly a Mavic 4pro , phantom 4k pro and a neo - will be getting the 2 soon . So get the Amazon 2199 special on the mavic 4pro and a neo 2 you will thank me later - niicorp.com
r/dji • View on Reddit →The fpv controller 3 works just fine with the Neo 2 but only in sport and normal mode. Which are modes where the auto pilot helps you fly it. If you want full control yourself you need to flip it in to manual mode. And the Neo 2 firmware does not currently support that but the Neo does.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I agree with the two other commenters: you're probably gonna want to be deciding between the Neo 2 and Mini 4 Pro. Maybe you could also throw the Flip into the mix as well (since it's essentially just a Mini 4 Pro but cheaper). Personally, as a drone pilot, I like the Mini 4 Pro the best. It's small but also still [incredibly capable](https://youtu.be/WXmJ1LmDZFk?si=6Ob81Ev94bqjDKLu). However if you're wanting to do more "drone films me doing stuff" then the Neo 2 with its shielded prop design is maybe a bit more safe and doesn't require you to have the RC controller always with you to fly.
