Honestly the mini 4k is a good little entry level drone. It's cheap, fun, and it works. Really, the drones between the mini 4k and the mini 5 aren't big enough jumps for the price difference. The mini 3 is better than the mini 4k, but not *that* much better. The mini 4 is better, but then you might as well spend a few hundred more on the mini 5. There are other drones between that, like the Air 3s, that are a decent middle ground. But if you're going to spend over $1k, why not just go to the mini 5. That's just my opinion though.
r/dji • What drone should I buy? ->What I would recommend... DJI mini 4k for the cheapest entry. It will let you get a feel for things and find out if you want more. DJI mini 5. If you're going to spend money, then just go with the newest option. It has a lot of the nice features and it's portable. DJI Air 3s. If portability isn't an issue, then the air 3s is a little better. - Although there a couple of drones between the 4k and 5 pro, but the quality up grades are minor and don't have many better features. Mainly obstacle avoidance, which the mini 3 is missing. You could spend money on a mini 4, but for a little more just get the mini 5p. After the air 3s, you would want to make bigger upgrades to the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 enterprise series. Which is way more than you need IMO

I just bought mine in us this week on Amazon came in 1 day so I don't see any problems here
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->I bought mine from the dji store on Amazon in New York last week. No issues
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->I already have one in my hands. Can't wait to fly tomorrow 🤙
r/dji • Its out! ->I was not able to use the Goggles 3 with the new Mini 5 Pro. All devices are on the latest firmware version and the Goggles 3 only shows the option to connect to the Mini 4 Pro. I'll guess/hope DJI will release a FW update to support the Mini 5 Pro soon.
r/dji • Its out! ->I would say mini 5 pro or my favorite air 3s. I would go with the 60mph beast.
r/dji • I want 2 drones. Which ones should I buy? Air 3s, Mini Pro 5, Neo 2, HoverAir Pro Max ->As a beginner emphasizing on videos, you have two best options: (i) Mini 4 (or 5) Pro, if you're okay with on camera; or (ii) Air 3s if you prefer to also have a telephoto. In my experience (I've had two drones in my life, one with and one without a telephoto), I'd certainly need one. But everyone thinks differently. The prices of these two are not that much different, so I'd suggest you choose based on that feature.
r/dji • What is the best drone in the market currently? ->Get a mini 5 pro then, it's right around the corner. Unless you are in the USA then Mini 4 pro is your only option except if you don't mind doing extra logistics or a quick international trip
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->Pretty huge improvement IMHO. Mini 4 Pro vs Mini 5 Pro [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T\_qZORjzSHw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_qZORjzSHw)
r/dji • Now that we've all seen actual footage of the Mini 5 Pro's camera, is it really that big of an improvement? ->DJI anything is more or less the answer. They have their quirks, but everything else comes with less support and more caveats. If you're just starting out, a Mini is perfect.
r/drone_photography • Photography lovers, what's the best drone with camera you've used? ->Down%20the%20way%20in%20Glenwood%20with%20my%20Mini%205%20Pro https://preview.redd.it/63vq07h8bb1g1.jpeg?width=6500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fc42c902bdfd64cfa416bca88add67cf82e034c
r/drones • View on Reddit →After watching the video, I would say it's not a lot larger than a Mini 4 Pro. The still is a bit deceptive. But its camera is bigger to accommodate the big sensor so the front mantle area is larger to accommodate it, plus the additional sensors. For me the sub 250g is not a big deal but I know for some it is. Either way, it looks killer.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Until you've flown a DJI...you haven't flown. Get a Mini. Any generation. That's where you start.
r/drones • View on Reddit →FWIW, I ordered the $1,099 RC2 combo from AirFoto on Friday night, and received it Saturday morning. I received a factory sealed unit and had no issues activating.
r/dji • View on Reddit →You're gonna love it. And the mini 5 pro would definitely be the best bang for your buck. You can get phone apps to practice flying and after a little while it becomes second nature. Just stay far away from objects while you're learning.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Keep in mind that Lidar is only on the front, for all other angles it is the same with mini 4 pro. One more point that I have noticed is that the gimbal is tied to two thin plastic arms in mini 5 pro, mini 4 pro seems to be much more covering the gimbal and camera assembly for this aspect. On a mild crash mini 4 pro may be more tolerant. All in all I will keep my mini 4 pro and see if mini 6 pro is worth the upgrade.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I got the mini 5 pro but went with the cell phone controller because the pricing was insane. Is it possible to get a RC2 remote for it? I just am not seeing them. Also got the small batteries. Are the after market batteries any good? Thanks in advance for your replies
r/dji • View on Reddit →Both can be flown as C0 drones, if I understand European rules correctly. Check to see if there's a difference in insurance coverage. The Mini 5 may well be a few grams over 250g and that might make a difference (or might not if the insurance goes by C0 class). I've heard that the Mini 5 is louder than the Mini 4, but can't confirm that personally. Don't know if that will make a difference to you. If it does make a difference you should research it. The controller with a built-in screen makes a huge difference for me, because it's brighter and easier to read than a phone or tablet. (Not to mention being faster and easier to set up.) If you opt for the Mini 5, use a phone/tablet that won't be used for anything else while flying so that you won't be interrupted with notifications. (Either silence all notifications or put it in airplane mode.) I treated myself to a Smart Controller for my Mavic 2 Pro and promptly decided that I'd only use controllers with integrated displays. Had to use an iPad with my Mavic Mini and it felt like such a step down - getting the RC Controller with my Mini 3 Pro was a no brainer as far as I was concerned. Whichever drone you go for you'll want extra batteries (and spare props), so a Fly More kit makes sense (cheaper than buying the extras separately). Whether that could be listed as a separate item for tax purposes I don't know.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I looked at my mini 1 2.4k footage that I upres to 4k and did the usual YouTube tricks which is increase sharpness and h264 format etc and man I was thinking in the day the footage looks great on my tv. I think the best feature of the mini 5 is the mid tele. I have the pocket 3 and it's legit zooms in without reducing quality. So I think that's the best creative tool that it added without having to add a tele lens. With that said. With its new heavier weight, in some countries it needs to be registered meaning you should get an air3s instead.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Same here. Owned both. Sold the m4k. M4k is a mini 2 with a new camera. Mini 3 is a much better drone. More than enough for casual/ hobby use. Mini 5 is a better drone but has a higher price. I'll stick with the mini 3
r/dji • View on Reddit →Just bought this, we'll see. https://a.co/d/17OY5xM For the price, I'm happy to add an extra battery and the rc2 controller myself
r/dji • View on Reddit →https://preview.redd.it/xf2iifi303rf1.jpeg?width=4085&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da11b23db4f4928f48bc851b4febd84bded630bc Here's a night shot with the Mini 5 Pro I would say it's actually quite a bit better in low light. I could never do this shot before with the 4!
r/dji • View on Reddit →Getting back into it those are the three I'd go for. Have some diy quads, Mavic 2 Pro, and original Avata. Picked up a Mini 5 Pro and Neo 2 for ~$1500 with extra batteries and the RC2 controller and I'd be tempted by the 360 lol.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Get the Mini 2 (used) or a Mini 4k. These drones are identical. You won't need obstacles detection or the enhanced transmission range on the beach/sea. This generation is inexpensive and easy to replace. If you feel like you want more you can always upgrade to a Mini 5 Pro next year. Don't get the Mini 2 SE.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Two Mini 5 Pro's tested and both have to a varying decree soft corners and decentered lens. Especially apparent in 50mp mode, which is one of the key selling points according to DJI.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I'd for the m4p or m5p just for the obstacle sensing, is very helpful when starting out, also the RC2 is really worth it, makes the whole experience more enjoyable, and you'd want to fly more often
r/dji • View on Reddit →Get a mini 5 pro then, it's right around the corner. Unless you are in the USA then Mini 4 pro is your only option except if you don't mind doing extra logistics or a quick international trip
r/dji • View on Reddit →On the 19th I ordered the Fly More Combo with the N3 remote for $959. Then I saw the DJI Official Store listing for the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo with the RC2 touchscreen remote for $1,099, so I ordered that too. It was supposed to arrive today (San Francisco), but now it says: > "Now arriving tomorrow - previously expected October 21. We're sorry for the delay." I'm hoping I actually get the RC2 version - and if there's a shortage, maybe I'll just hold onto it. The real question is: how is Amazon getting these units so early? I've seen posts this week saying some Amazon listings might be "grey market." I've personally shipped 20- and 40-foot containers from China (electric scooters, Surrons, unicycles, batteries, etc.) and I know how freight forwarders sometimes "work magic" on customs paperwork to minimize exposure and tariffs. So I'm curious - come Christmas, is this N3 Fly More going to be rare as a unicorn, or will more of them magically appear in the U.S.? I've checked with several of my contacts in China. They can get me the DJI Amflow e-MTB and parts, but not the drones. Would love to hear from anyone familiar with what's really going on - especially if you have insight into DJI's export or distribution channels. Also, if anyone has a legit source in China to "bring in" DJI drones, DM me.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Consider the weight restrictions for flight, resilience to faster wind speeds and carry weight. I'd go mini pro 5 for purely practical purposes on all the above points.
r/drones • View on Reddit →Honestly the mini 4k is a good little entry level drone. It's cheap, fun, and it works. r/dji • View on Reddit →DJI refurbished is amazing for budget drones - and it's also almost impossible to tell the difference from new. Personally, id go for one of those options: Refurbished Flip RC2 Fly More, Refurbished Mini 4 Pro RC N2, or if you don't like buying refurbished, throw in another ~150 and buy a new mini 5 pro.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I got mine from Walmart, and on the ship website it says my warranty is good for one year
r/dji • View on Reddit →I expected autonomous flight modes like in the flip. For me it has been an absolute disappointment. For many of us who are not film or photography professionals, the 4 pro's camera was already good enough so this drone represents absolutely no advance compared to the previous one (except for the LiDAR sensor, which is not a panacea either). Autonomous flight modes in the style of the flip or the Neo would have been a real leap in quality but DJI has not wanted to include them (in my opinion, wrongly) so as not to step on the markets of those other drones. I had been waiting for this improvement for a year and now that I see that DJI has completely ignored us, I have to say that I will return the device because it seems to me that it is worth going from 4 to 5 paying the extra cost that it entails. Shame on DJI for passing up this magnificent opportunity with the sole objective of making lower categories profitable. They even put the side button with that functionality in mind and then they regretted it. It is something that could be perfectly included in software, but they simply don't want to because they take us for fools and want to make fun of us. I am going to return the 5 pro and I will not buy any DJI product again as long as I see that they continue to apply these types of policies designed more for money than for the consumer. (Adding this functionality does not mean increasing a single gram of weight, it is simply adding it via software but they have not been able to listen to us) a big ZERO for DJI that is beginning to adopt practices in the purest Apple style of Tim Cook
r/dji • View on Reddit →I went with Mini 5 Pro few days ago. Went to the DJI shop, tested all the cheaper drones (both that you mentioned) and it was just not worth going with m4k or neo. Go with Mini 5 Pro you will not regret. Also you can save a lot on choosing rc-n3 controller and using your phone for visuals.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I view my drones as cameras with 120m tripods. :-) Depending on where you live, being under 250g may make a large difference in both where you can fly and what licensing you need. The Mini 5 Pro is quite possibly over that limit\* and while some jurisdictions may be relaxed about a few grams difference some aren't. I have a Mavic 2 Pro (which has a 1" sensor and Hasselblad camera), a Mini 3 Pro, and a new (unused) Mini 5 Pro - and I'm thinking that the 5 might have been a mistake (because where I live (Canada) the weight is a factor). It may end up replacing my infrequently-used Mavic for trips out to the boonies where I can legally fly it. I almost never shoot video. It's a different way of thinking which I haven't mastered. A good retirement project to look forward to, though. The camera on my Mini 3 Pro is good enough to take photos that I've enlarged and hung on my wall, not to mention sold. Low-light performance is decent enough for the light levels I fly in (never darker than twilight). Good call on the fly-more kit. You'll want extra batteries and props, and the carrying bag is nice. If you opt for a Mini 3/4 Pro get a better screwdriver than comes with the kit. Get the version with the RC Controller with the built-in screen. Less faffing around with cables, keeps your phone free for other tasks (and you don't have to remember to turn off notifications so you don't get distracted while flying), and doesn't run your phone down. \*Officially 249.9 g +/- 4 g.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Mini 5 Pro. Think about for how many years and how often you are going to fly it. At 100 flights it is €11.49 per flight. At 500 flights it is €2.30 per flight 😎
r/dji • View on Reddit →Lost my Mini 2 yeaterday after 4 good years 😠It rested at a beautiful place in the mountains, a fitting end after all the beautiful pictures and videos. I'll wait for the mini 5 pro launch and get it. Otherwise it's still a very good drone
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you just want regular drone for aerial static video/photo, get a mini 4k or mini 5 pro
r/dji • View on Reddit →I have the OG Mavic and most of the specs for the Mini 5 are better. I'd go with that IMO

r/dji • View on Reddit →I do not think it is covered by any US warranty from DJI. After activating, neither care or refresh show up as available in the DJI fly app or website. I opted to buy the 2 year asurion warranty from Amazon as a backstop if the drone is damaged such that I can't repair it myself.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Either is fine for the most part if you're not pixel peeping. The 5 has a larger sensor which would make it better in low light. You would get less noise at higher iso. But if you are in the United states if you want to fly it dawn or dusk (30mins before sunrise and 30s after sunset) you would need to add an RID module and an air collision strobe light. That would put it over 250 grams and you would have to register it. (The rule is weight at takeoff). If you wanted to fly at night you would need to get a waiver from the FAA. So if you're not shooting in low light the 4 pro would be fine.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I personally would recommend the Flip. Made [this video](https://youtu.be/anGcMKJBbs8?si=KhSe4Bs4RmapP5jL) (in which everyone thinks I'm just trashing to Flip) to explain that while the Flip might not be a great fit with more advanced DJI pilots that already have the Mini 4 Pro, that the Flip represents an incredible value. That being said, if you have the budget, the Mini 5 Pro or Mini 4 Pro are always better - though their upgrades might not be as much appreciated by a beginner.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I have the mini 4 and 5 but haven't had a chance to put the 5 through its paces. I'm hoping the Mini 5 has less artefacts and a bit better detail. The mini 3 and 4 are both noisy out of camera, even at 100 iso. I run the ai noise reduction in lightroom and it improves the quality substantially. They're never going to be the best image quality; but for the weight they are, the image quality is quite remarkable.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Mini is incredible for the size & weight in your bags, but imo, having the 70mm lens is well worth carrying the air 3s for. It just opens up far more possibilities. It's probably my favourite focal length to shoot with on my drones

r/dji • View on Reddit →It depends where you are coming from. Own three DJI drones which each have a unique purpose. If had none, would probably decide between the Flip and Mini. But for those who already have a DJI there's no real selling point to get this
r/dji • View on Reddit →It's not just dusk. It's how it's able to handle shaded areas during the day and its dynamic range. And the 5 is blowing it out of the water
