I already have the 1-inch sensor on my Air 2S, but I end up using the Mini 3 Pro more - it's discreet and attracts less Karens than the louder Air 2S. The upgraded sensor alone sells me.

If you want collision-avoidance sensors the Mini4 Pro or Mini3 Pro are best in the sub-250g realm. Otherwise the Mini4k is a great value. Before 2025 tariffs went into effect, they could be found at around $250. I paid $430 for my Mini2 4 years ago. Essentially the same drone. I love my Mini2 (not the SE). I have taken it to Europe and UK 3 times now.

I've got the mini 3 pro. Happy with it. One other difference between the mini 3 pro and mini 4 pro is the 4 returns full HD 1080 back to the RC unit while the mini 3 pro returns low res images back to the RC unit.

I bought the mini 3 pro, no regrets. Been flying it for 3 years now and it's still just fantastic in 4K 60 fps. I think the Pro version gives you the right amount of features for safety and awareness in flight.

Without the sensors "seeing" the surface, the warning height information at the bottom of the screen is not shown, and the surface is disorienting to look at also.

I started with the mini 3 pro, and still fly it. It's been just great! Mini 4 pro might be the only option anymore, but the design is the same. I bought a total of 6 of the regular batteries which has been great also. Just get the 3 at a time charger from DJI, it saves tons of time.

If you want accurate maps, you need the Mavic 3 enterprise with it's mechanical shutter. For basic mapping for fun, you can go as low as a Mini 3 pro, but the rolling shutter will reduce accuracy and resolution. I work with the Mavic 3 Enterprise with RTK at work, and does incredibly accurate and detailed maps, but really no better than my old personal Phantom 4 Pro I have at home. With RTK and GCP's you can get accuracy within a cm or two. ''nausea and vertigo from VR headsets.'' me to i get heavy sick from PC vr headsets!! but with the Avata I DONT. That was also something i was scarred about, but i tried it and i wont get sick from that headset. I also have a mini 3 pro ! they are great! and camera wise extremly good!! Easy to use to! You just need to watch out when flying sideways (you can crash into things), otherwise its very easy. I would not recommend the NEO. So if you ask me is the mini 3 a good deal? yeah it is! Like i said i got the pro version. But i THINK the pro version comes only with some more sensors (for following, tracking and obstacle avoidance). But you have to check that one out if the camera is the same. The NEO has worse camera though! I got the controller were you need to use the phone. That works great, but if you can i would suggest go with the inscreen build one. Sorry for my bad english though :)!

I have a mini 3 pro and a avata 2 but, i am looking for a drone that can be used whitout a controller like the neo or flip but also can follow you! And i mean, it does needs to read the surroundering.

Stewart & Alina tested out the Mini 3 Pro in some really nasty winds and it coped surprisingly well. No way I'd risk *my* drone like they did, but I'm not as good a pilot as Stewart. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3nOB8Pr4Hg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3nOB8Pr4Hg) I've got the original Mavic Mini as well as a Mini 3 Pro. The Mavic Mini does not to well in wind. I've heard the Neo is similar in not handling winds very well, but can't confirm personally. [https://skykam.co.uk/dji-neo-wind-resistance/](https://skykam.co.uk/dji-neo-wind-resistance/)

If you want to shoot urban I'd recommend the Mini 4 pro as it has O4 transmission. If you want anything bigger you will need special licenses depending on where you are country/state/city wise. For me in Texas I only need my 107 to do commercial or heavier drones. If you just want to make basic social media content the Neo is your best bet as well but with a controller / phone. The Mini 4k is a more basic mini 3 pro but still good.

Look into the mini 3 pro, you can find it at around 500-600. it has forward and backward sensors and can shoot vertical videos which is really beneficial if you use social media like tiktok or instagram. Sadly it doesnt support 4k60fps, its capped at 4k 30fps but everything else is really good about it. DJI flip is safer for indoors but it doesnt have any sensors so i would either go for mini 3 pro or flip

Stewart and Alina have some footage of tests they did on the Mini 3 Pro in Scotland, with winds so strong you can lean into them. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3nOB8Pr4Hg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3nOB8Pr4Hg) I have both a Mini 3 Pro and a Mavic 2 Pro. Both are pretty good in wind. The Mavic handles gusts better, as its greater mass means it doesn't move as far before the active position holding kicks in. For videos they both do just fine, for panoramas where I need multiple shots from the same point (to avoid Parallax errors) the Mavic is a bit better. OTOH, the Mini is a lot easier to carry!

Mini 4 Pro if you want the (current) best beginner drone. They're a bit cheaper now than they used to be so it might be a good time to go for it. Mini 3 Pro if money is an issue. I'm not sure where you're heading to on vacation but read up on their drone laws to avoid any issues. Some might have very strict rules against drones.

How large is "large" for your prints? I've printed shots from my Mini 3 Pro 4' wide and you can't tell them from shots from my Nikon D800. (Well, other than being in the air!) I also have a Mavic 2 Pro (first Mavic with a Hassleblad camera) and in good light there's very little difference between the images. The Mavic performs better in low light, but I'm surprised at how well the Mini does. I usually use my Mini now. Partly because it's lighter and easier to carry, but mostly because where I live (Canada) has looser regulations for drones under 250 g, so I can fly more places. Depending on where you fly this could be significant.

I view my drones as cameras with 120m tripods. :-) Depending on where you live, being under 250g may make a large difference in both where you can fly and what licensing you need. The Mini 5 Pro is quite possibly over that limit\* and while some jurisdictions may be relaxed about a few grams difference some aren't. I have a Mavic 2 Pro (which has a 1" sensor and Hasselblad camera), a Mini 3 Pro, and a new (unused) Mini 5 Pro - and I'm thinking that the 5 might have been a mistake (because where I live (Canada) the weight is a factor). It may end up replacing my infrequently-used Mavic for trips out to the boonies where I can legally fly it. I almost never shoot video. It's a different way of thinking which I haven't mastered. A good retirement project to look forward to, though. The camera on my Mini 3 Pro is good enough to take photos that I've enlarged and hung on my wall, not to mention sold. Low-light performance is decent enough for the light levels I fly in (never darker than twilight). Good call on the fly-more kit. You'll want extra batteries and props, and the carrying bag is nice. If you opt for a Mini 3/4 Pro get a better screwdriver than comes with the kit. Get the version with the RC Controller with the built-in screen. Less faffing around with cables, keeps your phone free for other tasks (and you don't have to remember to turn off notifications so you don't get distracted while flying), and doesn't run your phone down. \*Officially 249.9 g +/- 4 g.

I'm happy with my Mini 3 Pro. I bought the controller with the built-in screen which has been great, and I'm glad I spent extra for it. I do wish I had 360° obstacle avoidance rather than just front-and-rear, but not enough to buy a new drone. I view my drone as a camera with a 120m tripod (ie. a tool for photography), so your wants may be very different.

I've basically stopped using my Mavic and use my Mini 3 Pro for most things now. Wind resistance isn't quite as good, but image quality is more than good enough and being under 250 g makes flying a lot easier (in Canada, might be different where you are). Some people assume 'bigger is better'. I've seen that in photography, where my Nikon D800 with huge lens gets more respect than a smaller camera. (So sometimes I'll being the bigger camera for show, use it for a few pictures while mostly using a smaller camera, and let people assume that the best pictures were taken with the bigger camera when in reality all the pictures came from the smaller easier-to-carry camera.)

Mini Pro 4 if you have the cash. It's a phenomenal drone. Otherwise look the Mini 3 Pro. The Mini 2 doesn't support Remote ID. You'd have to get an external module. The Mini 3 and Mini 4 both include Remote ID standard.

I've printed several feet wide from both my Mini 3 Pro and my Mavic 2 Pro. I shoot a lot of 360° panoramas, and those are about 18,000 pixels wide which gives me a lot of room for cropping a print. (23,000 pixels with the Mavic 2.) One thing I suggest you look at are drone regulations in your country. In Canada a drone 250g or heavier requires at least a basic RPAS pilot certificate and there are a lot of restricted areas. An advanced certificate would open up more areas to flying but there are still more restrictions than there are with sub-250g drones. (Which is why I've hardly flown my Mavic in ages.) So depending on where you are and what you want to photograph, that could be a significant factor.

My mini 3 pro was this for me 3 years ago, still going strong. Holds up to ice fishing conditions and pretty high winds. It's also sub 250g so I can use it in the city to inspect roofs of 3 story+ buildings. I'd say the mini 4 pro will past you a long time but the newest one you can afford so you don't need to upgrade after a few years.
